I've gone to this sephora multiple times and it's usually a good experience.. however, tonight I walked out crying. My mom gave me a gift card for my birthday so I decided to go in and see if there was anything I wanted to buy tonight. I didnt go in for anything specific, so I was just swatching stuff and looking around. I have really bad social anxiety so I was feeling a bit uncomfortable being there especially because I wasnt wearing makeup so I felt very self conscious. I noticed all the employees were staring me down and giving me nasty looks... there were two employees standing next to each other and I noticed them both watching me whispering to each other. I had tested an eyebrow pencil I wanted and grabbed one in the box. I noticed that the box had been opened already so I started opening it to make sure it hadn't been used or damaged and one of the two employees that were watching me immediately came up to me asking me if I need a tester. I explained why I was opening it and she was just all like well I can get you a new container if you need one. She came off a bit rude but I brushed it off.. not even 2 minutes later go by and there's an older employee with puffy curly hair who approached me very rudely, clearly judging me just by the look of her face, who was asking me if I needed anything but acted like I didnt know anything about makeup and didnt belong there. By this time my anxiety was up the roof because of all the employees staring me down and being rude/giving me dirty looks. After the lady approached me in such a way I decided to put the eyebrow pencil back and just walk out because i was on the verge of crying. The lady with the curly hair stopped me and said "have you changed your mind about the eyebrow pencil?" And I said yes. She says "well where did you put it?" I told her I put it where the pencils were. There were two different sections for the same pencil and I put it in the one that I did not grab it from. The lady told me "well I saw you grab it from right there and I did not see you put it back in that spot so show me where you put it". Let me remind you, she was being so rude during this entire encounter... when I showed her that I did put it in the right spot she just brushed me off.. I started having an anxiety attack , had to walk out really quickly and was crying really bad having trouble breathing. This customer service was terrible.. they should treat everyone equally whether they're wearing makeup or not.. every other time I've gone there I was wearing makeup and they were always attentive with me and helpful.. the one time I go in without it, they glared at me, were very rude to me and treated me like i didn't belong there.. i won't be shopping at this location again..

I highly would like to recommend this Sephora. I scheduled my daughter to get her makeup done for her graduation day. The day before her appointment I went in to the store and talk to Reagan ( manager) as we had a bit of a scheduling conflict on the day of her appointment. I must say when Reagan came up to talk me she was friendly, courteous, and smiling. Reagan gave me the best customer service ever! She looked at her staff schedule on how she can assist my daughter to make sure she was makeup ready on time and wouldn’t be late on the day of graduation. She then called Leo up front and let her know she would be the makeup artist who would be tending to my daughter and how we were on a time crunch. On the day of my daughter’s appointment which was the next day Leo , had a no show appointment and called us to come in sooner than what we discussed. Which was very nice of her to do. We got there and Leo did an AMAZING JOB on my daughter’s makeup. She tended to my daughter in the best way possible and showed that she enjoys what she does! She did the job just how my daughter wanted it done. I highly highly recommend Leo for your makeup artist! A huge Thank you to Reagan for accommodating us and a huge thank you to Leo for doing an amazing job! My daughters graduation day couldn’t have been better w/ out y’all’s help! A HUGE KUDOS TO LEO AND REAGAN! Sephora please do everything possible to make sure they stay at Sephora! There is not many employees like them out there. Ty again, ladies! Go see Leo and Reagan at Sephora North Star!

So I was looking for this perfume, was at the sephora in JCpenny. They greeted me and kindly asked if I needed anything so they helped me, told me they are out of the one I'm looking for and told me to try the bigger store in the mall. Kudos to the employees at that location for helping me. Now I went to the bigger store as expected again, I tried to give this store a chance but everytime I walk in to the sephora location in the mall I'm always treated rude. No one greeted me and my spouse when we walked in, no one came to help me out what I was looking for till I found it. There was this one older lady employee with glasses who talked really rude to me about my mask issue, I mean I was gonna smell the perfume really really quick since I couldn't smell it through my mask really well cause of my allergy problem that day and she tells me in a harsh tone. I Understand the whole covid mask protocol, I didn't argue back I put the perfume back after I did get a small scent of it, I liked the perfume but since I felt uneasy at the store there I decided I just rather purchase it some where else or I'll just stick to shopping online even though it be harder for me to figure out perfume scents. I always liked shopping instore but lately that location always seem to have rude employees. :(

Today was the first time I've ever had a bad experience in a Sephora since they opened in San Antonio! I was waiting for my mom in JCP and I thought I'd kill some time at the Sephora. I had just dropped my husband off at the airport and it was me and my two little ones. I didn't have any makeup on and I had on a hoodie and jeans. Nothing special. So while I was looking around one of the ladies asked If i needed help. I first asked if their location carried the OUAI fragrance and she said there's no OUAI fragrance , Juicy has a fragrance called Oui but that's it. I thought THAT was kind of weird but ok no big deal. Then I remembered I had been wanting to try the matte velvet foundation from MUFE. So I went to ask the same lady for a sample and she says "well I need to look up your account first". I didn't really know what to say at first and I didn't know if Sephora had changed their rules on giving out samples or what. But she made me give her my VIB info before I could get a sample! Then she gave me the tiniest dot of foundation ever! Lol it was awful. I spend a lot of money in sephora all year and i felt super judged by this sales person, probably because i didn't look fancy, it was a very disappointing experience.

Best Sephora I've ever been to! I had two great experiences with both women who helped me find skincare products! When I came in on 2/3/20 at 8pm, a shorter brunette lady greeted me and helped me find my correct shade by looking up my Beauty Insider profile. Then, after asking if I could find a concealer that would work for my specific skin needs, she recommended the perfect one! She helped me check out on a handheld device and redeem some of my Beauty Insider points with a perfect product she had used herself. Finally, she told me about a free, 30-min hydrating facial I could get if spent $75 (I was $4 away.) She guided me to the back of the store, offered me bottled water, and introduced me to Tri. Tri interviewed me about my skin and skincare routine and selected some products to use, which she would later tell me more about in case I wanted to buy them. (Very low pressure, like a consultation or advice from a friend. She builds rapport and a connection with customers.) Her explanations and questions put me at ease, and we had a fun and pleasant conversation. At the end, she said smiling, "Come back and see me again!" Overall amazing service from both women!

I would HIGHLY recommend this location to all my friends and family because of the beauty rep Mia. This was my first time being helped by her at this location and this was by far the best experience I've ever had at ANY Sephora. I went in with the intentions of only getting a lipstick for my wedding day. But after talking with Mia and letting her know the look I am trying to achieve I ended up purchasing ALL the products that she recommend! She was by no means pushy like other sales rep I have encountered in the past and I didn't feel pressured to purchase anything I had asked her she show me. But because I can tell she was so genuine in trying to help me look my best on my wedding day I trusted her completely and purchased all her recommendations. She gave me so many detailed tips and tricks on how to do my makeup for my wedding day. She even explained how I should prep my skin the weeks prior and for the day of the wedding. Mia went above and beyond for me and I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you Mia so much for helping me! I am fully confident that I have everything I need now for my special day.

Scheduled an appointment to have my makeup done for family pictures. I’ve had my makeup done at Sephora on multiple occasions and I’ve always walked out feeling spectacular! This time was completely different. The gentleman that did my mini facial beforehand was extremely sweet! My makeup artist, Mia, was very friendly but wow. My eye makeup looked decent, but my undereye coverage was too light. She didn’t apply my lipstick properly and my eyebrows looked terrible. I walked around the store to do a little shopping and some older lady with curly hair kept following me. She was kind of rude and made me uncomfortable. I spoke with one of the managers, Briana, and she told me that next time I should be more specific on how I want my brows and lips done. She did offer me a discount on my next purchase, but I never went back in since their staff is rude. I would avoid this Sephora at all costs! I wanted to cry the moment I left the store. I rushed home to fix my makeup! The Sephora at La Cantera is a lot better and I regret not going there in the first place.

I've shopped here plenty of times, mostly alone. Recently my sister and I went shopping for our "girls day" and decided we wanted to buy perfume. However, being indecisive like always, I couldn't decide which perfume I wanted to buy. After spending 5 mins in the area, the manager (older caucasian woman with blondish hair) came up and stood by us pretending to do "inventory"....on an empty clipboard. Now I may be wrong but as many times I've shopped here and other JC Penney location around the nation, I've never seen a manager do inventory with a blank clipboard. She clearly was seeing if we were legit customers or stealing. And the moment I asked if she had a certain scent in stock (might as well put her nosy self to work), she acted clueless and didn't know how to check what's in stock (they keep products in the bottom drawers below the shelves) but was doing "inventory" so nonetheless she should know right? Smh. I definitely don't plan on going back to that location.

I had gone into Sephora one evening after work to pick out some new makeup for a fresh look. They were extremely busy, but someone still stopped to ask if I needed help. He helped me pick out the right color for my skin, and I was on my way. After about 2 weeks I realized the stuff I picked out didn't work for my skin, so I decided to go back one Saturday morning. I hate returning/exchanging things, but I am so glad I went back. Amanda helped me that day with my experience, and I would really like to praise her for her listening and customer service skills, oh and knowledge of products! We discussed skincare and makeup, and she was so pleasant an awesome! I think businesses hear when they are doing wrong, but I think it's important to tell them when they are doing things right too. I have been using my new Tarte products and Aqua Bomb moisturizer now for almost a week, and I am so pleased. My face doesn't feel like an oily mess anymore. Thank you Amanda!

Had to wait for the cashier Jazmine to get off her cell phone apparently I was interrupting her phone call. I couldn’t find the two products I needed but with her attitude (she didn’t Apologize or say thank you for waiting) I knew better than to ask for help. I then just said I was redeeming my birthday month gift that Sephora has. She was not friendly or kind at all and after a couple of sighs and eye rolls I got my gift. Not even a thank you no come again no nothing. I said thank you and she ignored me. Tried yet again to shop at Sephora and still doesn’t matter the location apparently to work here you have to have a terrible attitude, but hey at least I got a free gift. Not worth the hassle though. Oh I was the only customer and there were 3 ladies working.

Took my wife to a class scheduled for Sunday at 9:00am. We arrive and the doors around the mall are all closed, we had to look for someone to talk to until a security officer told us to go through some shady "back-doors" to get in. Once in and at the store, the sliding doors were closed and the class had already started and she was 15 minutes late. She left. My wife contacted them twice on different dates to confirm the class was never told what to do in order to get to the class. Never told what to prepare when going to the class. Never told what to bring to class. Disorganized at best and plain rude at worst. Skip the class and the sassiness of Sephora makeup "artists".

Went their yesterday and literally was walking in circles clearly confused and got NO help! An employe pushed his ( male) way infront of me to stock while I was reaching for a product. I heard a manager telling workers to stop talking and start working multiple times and they never listened! Another woman ( black) had a dawg face the entire time and refused to acknowledge me and kept walking in the back and shoving her way infront of us. Once an older worker finally acknowledged me she asked what I needed and when she realized she said very snarky where it was like I should have already known even though that was my first time being there.

Came into this pla e not having a clue about makeup foundation and Julian was very attentive sweet polite and patient woth me the entire time as we tried about 5 different shades and primers. At checkout their was a price discrepancy of only $3 (Because they had not updated the prices on the display cap) As I walked at the door I told them it's OK just for next time the next customer so they don't have that same situation because you never know they may not be as nice as I was but Quinn caught me at the door and gave me a little Goody bag as a way of saying thank you I guess because I left a happy customer. I had such a great experience with these folks. My daughter asked to take her shopping for some makeup, so I thought I would take it up a notch instead of the usual Walmart makeup. We went to North Star and we were assisted by a young lady (Amanda) who was very helpful and knowledgeable in what my daughter was asking for. Being a single father, I really didn’t know what Sephora was but after getting help with Amanda, my daughter was very happy about her new lotion & makeup stuff. I think I found an easy place to shop with my daughter, and buy cologne for myself. The experience was awesome. Thanks Sephora!

OMG, where do I begin......Jezzy (Jezzamine) was AMAZING. I can't brag enough about her to friends and family. This was the second time seeing her, and I will continue to pick her to do my makeup whether it be a 30 min session or 60 like the one I had done for a friends wedding. Everyone complimented my makeup stating it looked amazing and I felt amazing. She is truly a perfectionist and very experienced. You will not be disappointed and it was worth every penny and then some. Book her for all your needs for makeup sessions. I guarantee you will be amazed at her work.

I went in to see if they had anything for an older woman with wrinkles, going to a family reunion. I was met by Kelly, who thoroughly explained the products they had, and what I could expect. This girl was so sweet and attentive to my plight, that she set me up with a sample of both creams for skin and eyes! This company needs to keep this young sales lady happy, as that is how you get repeat customers! I know I will come back, and I will be looking for your enthusiastic happy girl named Kelly!! I'm a woman of a certain age and have shopped here many times with good results. However now that I've let my hair go gray I can't get any assistance whatsoever. Word to the wise...if a woman of a certain age comes in with a full face of well-done makeup then she OBVIOUSLY spends money on makeup and skin care. As a group we have a goodly amount of disposable income and want to look as good as possible. Maybe I can find a store at another location where the staff isn't so assy.

This is my go-to location. I love all Sephora’s, but I always have a pleasant experience here, and the associates are so kind. Most retail stores now have lost genuine customer service skills, but that does not apply to this store. These associates are intelligent, genuine, helpful, and kind. That is why I always come back because I know I will have a great shopping experience, learn something new, and get the assistance I need. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic customer service! I went in, 2 weeks ago, and Leah went above and beyond with helpful tips, product information, and matching me to new make up; it happens so that the make was vegan and I was super happy about that. It was a great coincidence because she didn’t know I was vegan:) Leah continued to help me and pair me with other associates for other products I was looking for. Kudos to Leah and her teammates. This is my second experience at a different Sephora location and I didn’t expect the same phenomenal service. Sephora is the Chick-Fil-A of makeup brands, guest service oriented and that’s the way every business should be. I don't think the majority of the people that work in the morning at this location like their job at all. The 3 people I interacted with were very bland and one was flat out rude. It took about 15 minutes before someone even offered to help and then while I was being helped a lady also asked for assistance and nearly got her head ripped off. Even if you say something with a smile your rudeness can still be sensed.

I’ve been shopping at this location for YEARS. I stopped for a few months and decided to go back for a few things. The blonde lady had several employees ask me repeatedly ‘if I needed assistance..’ when I said no, and took my items to pay, she called security on me! Because I was in a hurry and knew what I wanted? They blatantly followed me from checkout to walk out. I’m VIB Rouge so of course I steal.

This was my first ever time shopping in a Sephora and I had a wonderful experience! Even though the store was pretty packed I was helped in my first few minutes in the store. All of the associates were soo friendly and helpful and I even signed up for their rewards program. The MUAs Mia and Stephanie definitely helped me get everything I was looking for. Sephora used to be one of my favorite places to shop. But lately they never have anything I am looking for. The stock is very limited. The staff is always very nice and they help recommend similar items, but they don't have as much as they used to and never have the brands I am specifically looking for. They also don't allow you to take home samples like they used to and I miss that.

I rarely do reviews. But wanted to say how amazing Jezzy was today. I don’t do make up often but have a large dark spot on my face that’s hard to cover (even with corrector). She didn’t give up. And for the first time since having my daughter 2 years ago, I didn’t feel ugly. And she gave me tips to get rid of it. Top notch customer service. Go grateful and will be back to see her.

Cindy in skincare was very sweet and helpful! I was looking to buy my favorite face wash in store and they no longer carry it. I have extreamly sensitive skin and it’s hard for me to decide on a “safe” wash to try. She was nice enough to help me look and try a face wash that She has tried for sensitive skin and honest about what she thinks could be irritating. Thanks Cindy!

Usually they have good customer service here but I’ve had plenty of negative experiences as well!!! Workers do judge and discrimminate!!! they take one look at you and if you’re dressed a little off or aren’t even wearing make up at all they’ll keep a close eye on you! I had the worst experience here. One of the "make up artists" acted disgusted when asked if I could get a color match. The lady that started my make up was nice but she had no clue what she was doing (even admitted it). Finally, the girl that ended up taking care of me was unpolite and clearly did not want to be there. Never going back again. So unprofessional.

I rarely get to this store but when I do my experience is always positive. Every single person was so pleasant and helpful. They expertly guided me and explained the why's and what's for every product I was interested in and even told me about better options. I have the worst time with foundation but I left with one that really went above my expectations.

I had walked in wearing gym clothes (had just got out of the gym). I was going to purchase $300 worth of skincare. The workers discriminated me for being in gym clothes, I overheard a blonde lady with a short ponytail telling another worker to follow me closely because I was "stealing". Nice to know this is how you treat military people.

Amanda, the manager, bad-mouthed customers to staff. I overheard her using choice words to describe a customer's appearance/request. Her language was incredibly offensive. Her staff enjoyed the comments and joined her in making fun of this poor lady who had done nothing wrong. Will never support this store again!

I'm kind of disappointed that the section for Male cologne has been shortened down to a small section with few brands to pick from. I was told that I could look online to purchase the ones that were not in store. I used to love shopping here but I guess those days are over.

Product testing is allowed once again Mask enforced. Hand sanitizer stations available. Store associates were all knowledgeable and helpful. Their was a bit of a wait for my daughter to get color matched, she was given some free small product samples for her patience.

Leah did a pink eyeshadow look on me and It was everything I could’ve asked for and more. she was so nice, professional and was spot on with my look! I showed her pics of what I wanted and she replicated it to a T! I 10/10 recommended getting your makeup down by Leah!

Very easy and pleasant visit today at this location. Lost all my makeup when I moved and had to buy everything all over again. Jesse or Jessie, rep there made it extremely easy for me to choose my products again. Will be back soon!

I went with no make up in my hoodie and yoga pants. Staff was more attentive to my than husband than myself. When I was helped I was told they didn't have that particular product and they walked away from me.
