I booked a makeover this summer because I wanted to build a routine. I was paired with a stylist that knew very little about doing makeup on darker skin tones. I wasn't asked about my budget before our session began, and when I finished the total was over $400 which I hadn't expected (when including the cost of the makeover, I spent over $500 that day). As soon as I paid, another worker that was on the floor walked over to my stylist and immediately began gossiping about me before I'd even left the store. This was an incredibly uncomfortable and negative experience for me. If you're a person of color looking to get your makeup done in an inclusive environment, go elsewhere.

Extremely rude staff. Came in on Friday 8/25 at 7pm and asked if they had nail products at this location (some locations carry them). One of the employees, older (40s?) with straight brown hair, condescendingly told me “no. We don’t carry mail products”. Not bothered because I realize that all locations are different, I simply replied with “oh that’s ok, some locations do!”. Then she proceeded to act as if I asked a wild question or was an idiot and just said “Well not us. Have a good day, goodbye”. No, “hey, sorry we dont carry them but X store does, or checkout our site”. Just a little kindness goes a long way.

Sephora is on the left hand side of the metro station, The maps however took me to a nonexistent location on close to C St. It was annoying as what I wanted to get were hairclips. Mainly beauty products (cosmetics) for the face and a few body and hand product for different skin colors and textures. There were also some hair products too of high end brands as exclusive brands. The atmosphere was calm and soothing.

I was greeted by a nice young lady who assisted me as soon as I walked in. I went to purchase the Fenty foundation and they were out of stock but this young lady took time to enroll me into the rewards program and to check to see the availability of the product I wanted at a closer store. She was attentive to my needs, very professional and had great customer service skills.

I went to Sephora Tuesday and Desire was a great help! I’m new to makeup so I asked her for some help and she walked me around the store giving me options on what I was looking for me and provided so much help with trying new products! She was kind, sweet and deserves a raise for her customer service! I’ll definitely be going back to this Sephora! Thank you Desireee!

Went to buy fenty makeup and wanted to try the concealer to go with the fenty power foundation I like to use ….they didn’t have it so I tried a Sephora brand in lieu or returning to the store or ordering it etc. because I really don’t like shopping. I think it turned out OK. The ladies were very nice and it was a pleasant experience as always.

I'm on my way to becoming a Rouge because of this store! Small (but mighty) location where consultants really know the product and take time to help you. Free tutorials and facials with purchase. Mimi has completely changed my skincare routine and I trust her with everything. I'm so glad that they're in the neighborhood!

I never knew there was a Sephora here. I had a little trouble finding it but it wasn’t that bad. Small location. I got helped by a really nice woman, and matched me to the milk makeup foundation. Had a good experience there. I like that it’s not deep in the city and they had pretty much all the stuff I needed. Thanks!

Great customer service! I was (pleasantly!) surprised by how large the selection was for such a small store (for Sephora). Admittedly I do mostly shop online for cosmetics, but the shopping experience in this store is awesome and I will definitely be a repeat in-person customer.

We went in right before closing, and sales representative named Kyma was wonderful with the way she helped us. She was unhurried and so friendly. She seemed very knowledgeable about the different product lines. I'd recommend this store to anyone in the neighborhood!

FIVE STARS all around! I just had the best experience I've ever had in a Sephora store. Each staff member was so eager to assist me. Two of them even took the time to show me additional options to what I was looking for. Super friendly, helpful, and great staff!

I've always gotten great service here. It's smaller than some Sephora stores but the staff are friendly AND helpful. They will order anything you want if they don't have it. V convenient for Capitol Hill, right across from Eastern Market Metro.

I like this place, it’s a new spot in Eastern Market. The people who work there seem to be knowledgeable on their products. Although they don’t have the biggest selection, this store still has most of the popular items

Rude cashier didn’t even speak to me besides to say ok when I had a coupon and the total very bizarre,besides that store was clean and had the products I was looking for that day. I’ll be back but avoid that cashier .

Solely rating for makeup service. Desire was spot on time with starting and completing. Almost fell asleep in the chair, such a calming spirit and vibe. As soon as I stepped out, I received a compliment on my makeup.

This is a smaller location so the selection is limited, many displays were out of stock and the testers were empty. The stay is very helpful, vibrant and knowledgeable.

I came to this Sephora to restock my products, 5-6 of them. They did not have any of the products I use or I was interested in. Other Sephoras are far better in DC
