The staff was I helpful as we unexpectedly had to stay over the weekend as our son was in hospital. They helped us very quickly and even gave us a small discount for our stay. The rooms were nice and clean and very well decorated. Would gladly recommend them to anyone wanting to stay there. Their location is also very well situated for the younger crowd as the night life is just up the road. The noise from the nightlife didn't bother us at all and we hardly heard it.

In the heart of the trendy Mellville nightlife. Walk out of the guest house into a hive of restaurants, eateries, bars, clubs and music joints. Great place to be if looking for fun and socialising. Near to a number of universities and other academic institutions and many other conveniences. So much more interesting than the dominant mall culture where all the outlets are national or international brands - mellville has original and creative businesses catering for the fun crowd

Staff is very kind but unfortunately there is some problems with the guest house, the airconditioning is not working, hot water was not always available, only one key per room, gate motor is broken, very dark outside need more spotlights, wifi does not work half the time, No hand washing liquid/soap. Cutlery is limited with only espresso cups, no normal mugs. Fridge was left dirty and full of expired milk and fruits on arrival.

It's worth the visit over and over again. Would recommend it to any other person top class in all aspects.....

Cute little B&B, you have to go out for dinner but its right next to a street with several restaurants and pubs. Only problem I had with the place was the poor wifi, could barely get connected from my room had to sit in the lounge for access

They have very nice rooms, spacious and clean. The rate is also quite fair, ideal for a quit stop in Melville and around. But their customer services and administration could be better as it is currently not as effecient as needed

My stay was very pleasant, but there were a few inconveniences. The location is very quiet, perfect for any traveller: there is always a control person at the entrance willing to help if needed; only one advice: be careful

Spent only one night at Saffron as we were there for some shopping in the popular 7th Steet. Clean, neat suite and reception helped us quickly with all that we needed. Best location for a guesthouse in 7th Steet

I like the little town environment, its both old school and new school this perfect blend of the best of south Africa. like a page out of book...the guest house itself was really stunning and warm...

Central, VERY comfortable. Close to restaurants and pubs in the hip Melville area. Great place to stay, where you can walk and have a great night out, without driving. (rare for Joburg).
