Have shopped here for many years as it is my local Sainsbury's being around 500 metres from where I live. Service is usually good & the staff are on the whole friendly. Unfortunately however, I have just had my first bad experience there. On leaving the store on Sunday 24/11/19 at around 15.25pm, having popped in for a quick browse & quite honestly to see if there were any bargains, I was stopped by a very rude door security man as I attempted to leave the store. He said he needed to 'look in my bag'. I said I wasn't very happy with this as I had neither made a purchase or indeed done anything wrong, so obviously thought he had no reason to request me to do so. I had made a prior purchase of 2 chocolate bars a few minutes earlier at a local B&M store ... & luckily I had the till receipt for that purchase. I asked the gentleman why he had stopped me & his response was that I had been in an area of the store in which he couldn't see me ! I wasn't happy with this as he clearly hadn't seen me commit a crime & immediately asked to speak to the store manager, to whom I showed the contents of my bag AND the receipt for said purchase. Unfortunately the manager didn't seem to think that the security person had done anything wrong & simply apologised for the 'mistake' ... and also said that as the security person wasn't employed directly by Sainsbury's, there was little else he could do. I indicated that I had been severely embarrassed & inconvenienced would be taking it up further with Sainsbury's head office. His response to that was that there was little point as they wouldn't be able to do anything either. How glad I am that I ignored this advice and did ring them on their freefone number as soon as I returned home. They agreed that not being able to see what someone was doing in a particular store was absolutely NOT good enough reason to stop them & that the 'manager' hadn't dealt with my complaint sufficiently before I left the store... they are currently looking into my complaint & have promised to get back to me within 2-3 days. So are we to gather then, that the fact that Sainsbury's don't employ their own security staff directly, means that they have carte blanche to do whatever they like, in particular, stopping customers at random purely on 'suspicion' ? I for one will be thinking seriously about shopping in this store ever again and maybe even Sainsbury's generally ... depending on how they respond to & deal with my complaint. The experience has absolutely ruined my weekend, particularly as I have been made to look like a common criminal to onlooking members of the public despite my complete and absolute innocence. I hope no one else has suffered similarly when exiting a Sainsbury's store and if they have I encourage them to make absolutely sure that they follow it up with an appropriate complaint accordingly immediately.

Decent shop in itself, it's a shame the staff let it down. One member vaping at door on headset on phone right outside the entrance, two women at the till talking to eachother whilst acting as if I don't exist and shouting across till asking another off duty staff member questions behind me. I don't expect the highest standards from a sainsbury's but these really let the company down.

Limited selection due to the size of the shop. Perhaps need to re-stock more regularly, went in around 7pm and there was even less choice due to empty shelves. Larger, fully-stocked little Waitrose across the street, and a Tesco two doors down.

The iSqueeze orange juicer is almost never working. Could you please get your staff to clean it regularly or not have it in the first place if your staff are not able to maintain it. So disappointing.

  • Rees Wild

Not the cleanest but better than the competition in the area. Also always stocked other than some types of tabbaco. 4 starts because of the lack of care that goes into the product dented like crazy.

Auswahl mittelmäßig, dafür sauber. Am selben Platz befinden sich noch ein Tesco sowie ein Co-op, in Anbetracht der Konkurrenz schneidet dieser Supermarkt hier am besten ab.
