. God's House on Earth usually tend to be not only a Sacred Place, but an oasis in the desert that is a major metropolis. . Saint Peter's Church lives up and surpasses that standard. . Organ recitals, if only practice sessions, can be really nice in the early evening. Other offerings are great. . The restoration of the Louise Nevelson Chapel is great to witness!!! . Moreover, the Lenox Hill Neighborhood Association Lexington Avenue Branch Senior Citizens Program is top notch. Meal service is very good and nutritious. The number of classes, outings, support services and all are just stellar. Not perfect, but very good. Staff are very proactive. . Kudos are in order for this extremely robust use of their Church space as an excellent Community resource. .

Man this church sucks well from just my experience I literally hate it like the classes are boring and the mass is worst cause I always fall asleep Can barley hear the father and bro it’s just so boring too. Not to mention the many flights of stairs like if you were going up there you would just wanna leave that awful school like why couldn’t you just make them closer together so stupid this is why I hate this church and as a student that goes there it’s just so boring and i hate it with every ounce of my soul. I would give them a 0 but I can’t do that so I give you a 1.

I visited before the unfortunate flooding necessitating the closure/renovation of the main church space. I enjoyed the interesting innovative architecture. However, there appears to be one thing that some people are not clear on. This is a Lutheran Church (ECLA affiliated) and _not_ a (Roman) Catholic Church. Though the differences between the two can seem small, sometimes they become mighty. If they are ethical in their organization, they will have made the difference clear to prospective parishioners.

Beautiful church with no terrifying crucifix. Very modern architecture in the round rather than the traditional nave. Quite socially responsive to the community need for clean, well lighted spaces to host special events. Attended the National Domestic Workers Alliance 10th Anniversary VIP Red Carpet for Social Change. Lovely event, truly Christlike people. With churches like this and people like this we have a shot at basic human decency and human rights for all. That' s my story and I'm sticking to it.

My Jazz Church and more! Seniors can eat in the basement. Beautiful mid day jazz Wednesdays at 1 pm for one hour with amazing artists. Jazz services Sunday's 5 pm. Jazz funerals occasionally held here. Caring staff. I have been coming here off and on for many years. So much going On! Art exhibits in the lobby. Near all shopping a and accessible from the E train at 53rd Street and Lexington. On 54th Street.

The space was very intimate with high ceilings from which you can see the sky. As others have stated it has a modern interior design with a minimalist touch that allows for attendees to focus on the worship service or music being played. I went for the jazz vesper which was amazing and liked how everyone there was supportive of each other

Ambient peaceful place with great acoustics. The restraint and stumptious architecture of northern regions, with lively candles, fresh flowers, wise deep voice of a priest, mesmerizing sounds of jazz piano and bass. Overall stunning impression of calmness, coziness and intimacy if you will in the busy city that is always in a rush.

Unlike the incorrect (at the time of this review) photo that turns up in a basic Google search, this Lutheran Church is in a "hyper modern" architecture style, with many of the meeting rooms and facilities located at or below street. Great space, wonderful staff and volunteers, and lots of social services and free classes.

I went to visit a friend and this wonderful church showed me the commitment with their community, very admirable mission...How we can do a lot of great things for others in name not only Jesus but, in the name of Love for others. Easily to spread the love when we have a Mind set for it. God Bless you!!!

The best musicians, the most compassionate and caring pastors, and historical Scandinavian design. What's not to love? This city can get so overwhelming, I'm so grateful I was dragged here. Be sure and visit the jazz vespers even if you're not religious. It'll blow you away.

This was my home church for 44 years. It is a church that believes in change and social outreach. If you believe in freedom for all, caring for others, sharing with other religious people, great pastors and good people . The added plus is incredible, music.

We rent space there once a year for a meeting of condo owners. We've never had a problem, and the staff are helpful. I gave it 4 stars because while the staff is great, you have to roam the halls to find them. The front desk is not attended in the evenings.

I visited the church to attend the Memorial Service of Jerry Gonzalez. It was a time of reflection, inspiration, and celebration. It was absolutely beautiful. Had the microphones been working properly, the event would have been perfect.

St. Peter’s Church is my house of prayer over 10 years now. When you’re there you’ll feel like home. It’s a beautiful and welcoming modern church in the Middle East side of Manhattan.

What an incredible space! The acoustics match the modern design to make a wonderful concert venu. Watching evening settle in on a beautiful October afternoon was breathtaking. Bravo.

Heard an orchestra perform. Acoustics marvelous. Like being inside a resonant cello. And the architecture is amazing. Its a modern jewel all lit up at night
