"It was about 10 pm and it was warm not too packed used the restrooms and they were pretty bad then when we got ready to leave i would catch whifs of urine in the air even though we were not close to the bathrooms at that time the fountain gas alot of chlorine yet I get it but almost unbearable to go in the water in the fountain"
"Great place to cool off in the summer"
This Salmon Street Spring was a nice area to check out. My wife and I are visiting my friend from LA so we were exploring Pioneer Mall. I saw this Salmon Street Spring on Google Map while seeing what was near us and wanted to check it out. We walked from the mall to this place which was only like 3 blocks away. When we got here, the water didn't look like how it was on the other pictures but it was still fine. There were kids playing in the water when it was hot outside. The main attraction is of course the water fountain but you also get a nice view of the river as well. There not a lot of bench here and also not a lot of shaded area.
Dog-friendliness
This area is dog friendly because it's next to a bike trail where you can also walk.
Picnic area
You can have picnic here because there are some grass area for you to sit.
A group of us went for a lunch cruise on the Portland Spirit. We met the ones who traveled separately in the park and gathered there afterwards. I was busy taking pictures and remembering good times working down town, and people watching. Apparently I was looking the wrong way because, back on our bus, a couple of the ladies talked about the homeless man who relieved himself on a tree just feet from the restroom. They were especially amused that he fully dropped his pants to do so. (Note: except for our driver & activity director, the youngest of us was over 60.)
Restrooms
It was a Portland Loo, or whatever they call them. It looked clean from the outside but none of us checked it out.
It is a Portland legend, you could buy weed there in the late 90’s you can cool off after a long summer bicycle ride , people watch , dance offs occur there any day of the week in summer, Thursday night mystery ride at 7 maybe changes during winter ♂️ , go there with tough skin it ain’t down town lake Oswego you will see teens smoking weed and cigarettes you will see homeless drunks/addicts .... but if you wait in the summer spring and anytime really you will see lovers kissing by the portland spirit you will hear laughter and happy screams from child and adults enjoying the fountain You will find PORTLAND OREGON
It was about 10 pm and it was warm not too packed used the restrooms and they were pretty bad then when we got ready to leave i would catch whifs of urine in the air even though we were not close to the bathrooms at that time the fountain gas alot of chlorine yet I get it but almost unbearable to go in the water in the fountain. But it was nice and peaceful and there are many homeless in the area I fountain see any around the fountain at all! Had no problem parking close and stern wheeler just came back on from cruise but over all good experience!
Great place to cool off in the summer. The city does regular trash clean up and it's good because people don't always treat it so well. There is a free workout there every Wednesday morning at 6:30 rain or shine.
Restrooms
There are two restrooms nearby—one on either side of the fountain within 100 ft.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of dogs there. The water in the fountain is chlorinated so it's not great for dogs.
Picnic area
The Bowl just South of the fountain is a great place for picnics.
Between the Hawthorne an Morrison bridges, and across SW Naito Parkway from the Portland General Electric headquarter building at the World Trade Center. A scenic portion of Portland's Willamette River waterfront. The beautiful fountain is a haven from the summer heat for young and old visitors alike. Its a good place to meet before a river trip on the Portland Spirit. (Probably not the favorite hang-out of the Wicked Witch of the West, though. What with the fountain and all. :-)
Great place to sit and people watch while waiting to embark onto the River Cruise Ship "Portland Spirit" or cool down in Salmon Springs Fountain. You can repair your bike here for free at the bike rental shop were tools and bike repair products are on hand. There is also a permanent Bathroom just a short walking distance (apprx 40 yards) north of fountain off Naito street curb. Always keep an eye on your children here
I went late at night when there wasnt anyone around just a guy who had mental health issues and had to go back to talking to the person in his head. He was nice but lacked any idea what was happening in real life he thought there was no hate and everyone gets along. Which I said what there so much hate and violence in Portland that's when I knew he wasnt playing with a full deck
I have so much fun here! It's free and so whimsical. I love Portland for our fountains.
Playground
No playground.
Restrooms
There's no restroom, go before you visit.
Dog-friendliness
Leash technically required.
Picnic area
Plenty of places to picnic all along the waterfront. No tables here, but you could make a bench work I guess.
Nice day, wasn't crowded. Always a great place to be in the heart of downtown plenty of views and an easy waterfront stroll. Reccomended.
Restrooms
They have restrooms along the way that looked to be well maintained.
Dog-friendliness
Portland is a very dog friendly city as long as you follow leash laws and clean up after your 4 legged friend.
It's beautiful. Gorgeous views and the fountain is fun to watch and let the kids play in it.
Restrooms
A little closer to the bridge there are restrooms. They try to keep them clean but that isn't always possible. It's still nice that they are there if you need them.
Dog-friendliness
There are always people walking around with their dogs.
The smell of chlorine made me feel safe to let the kiddos play in the water, but the floor was not clean and I saw a lot of trash everywhere, i didn't see policemen's close by and I felt unsafe. Portland city mayor should clean better the park and keep more police officer on the areas. Is a beautiful ❤️ place to be not used by the citizens.
Stumbled upon this fountain while walking along the paths on each side of the river. There were a lot of people enjoying the park in the area with kids playing near the water. It's along the bike paths, so people were riding in the area too. One side is surrounded by the river while the other side surrounded by the downtown area.
Salmon Street Springs is the perfect place to be one with nature, enjoy the beauty of Portland, meet other locals, take pictures, exercise and get grounded!
Dog-friendliness
Very Dog Friendly, Clean Cut Awesome Grass for us and our pets. Let's keep it clean for ourselves, our city, and our loving pets!
This would probably be a nice Fountain if it wasn't located in the city of Portland. But because it is it's surrounded by homeless meth addicts and a heroin junkies who want to rob you it is not suitable for any decent folk.. If you are not one of them I recommend staying the hell away from this place.
Very pretty area. Great for photos and sunsets. Lots of ducks. Watch out for bikes speeding (you’ll probably hear them before you see them though). There is a bike rental place nearby but the nearby public bathroom is very VERY gross. If you need to use a bathroom I suggest going to the nearby mall.
A lovely fountain can be found in Portland, offering a breathtaking view of the city's famous bridges. Visitors can also enjoy a pleasant walk or bike ride along the river on a nearby track. The Waterfront Park is a popular destination for families with children, particularly in sunny weather.
Tons of fun and great for a sunny day! A real great place especially since there is ice cream and bike u can rent! Just be careful, we saw homeless men riding their bikes right through the sprinklers while kids were running in the water, and when ur in their u can't see much …
The fountain was dirty, and I observed several homeless washing their underwear in the fountain. NOT clean enough or suitable for children to play in for any observant parent. The City of Portland needs to at least stop the homeless from washing in fountains that kids play in.
Great place to relax and enjoy the calming sound of water. During the summer it's great to cool down, and all time of year it's a spectacle to watch.
Playground
Kids often enjoy running through the water
Picnic area
There are plenty of spaces around to sit down
Great place for the kids in hot weather. Plenty of benches around the perimeter. Computer-controlled fountain switches patterns every so often throughout the day maybe every 20-30 minutes and the kids love it! also very near to multiple other fountains along waterfront Park.
The odor of chlorine in the fountain is better called a stench because of how strong it is the fountain asks for the kiddos to play in it and many people do the benches had throw up on it and it was crowded good place to go to walk mabie good place to go with kids no.
Kids loved the fountain. Lot of homeless people everywhere. The garden had ruined lawns with nowhere to sit. We had to pay for parking across the street, and could manage to stay for only 10 minutes. I expected a lot from this garden and so I was a bit disappointed.
Waterfront park fountain. Or was cold this dau, but oregonians sil got in the fountain! Love it!!! Did have to see homeless people and one thought it was a shower (nutcase nude). Made me laugh though. Would have been 5 stars if the homeless dude was better looking.
I first saw this place in the distance and was drawn to it. It's a pretty fountain along the waterfront and could generally be a good place to break your fast. Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless people in the area who make a long visit less appealing.
My 13 year old son had an homeless woman or a woman with mental health issues walk up to him with her top off exposing herself to my son. Not to mention homeless taking showers in the fountain while children were trying to play in the water.
GREAT SPOT TO COOL DOWN IN THE SUMMER! Ride your bike/skate/scoot thru the fountain, sit and people watch or enjoy the sounds of splashing jets of water striking the pavement. Central gathering spot on the waterfront check it out.....
Nice place to hangout and relax at any time of the day. Go for a littke walk or run along the side. There will be fun games around the place at times. Kids love the fountain and they go crazy. The area is not super clean.
Still as easy and as convivial a public space in which to hang out today as it was when I first saw it as a newcomer to Portland. Will be better in a few months when construction on SW Naito Street is finished.
Not a destination in and of itself; I find this to be a great place to just relax, kick back and enjoy a warm summer day and watch the children playing in the water. To me, it's. Just a nice place to be.
I wish the kids we're able to run and play in the fountains so blame it on the pandemic. Ruining this year's spring. Along with all festivals and live music everywhere. This is the best time of the year.
I love to eat lunch here during the summer! The fountain is nice when it's running (usually only the summer). It's a pretty popular spot with lots of people playing in the fountain when it's nice out.
My second favorite fountain to cool off in during the hot summer days! Keller park fountain is close by and has actual pools to jump into usually, this year however the scamdemic shut it down.
Definitely one of my favorite spots and favorite fountains is great for hot days to cool off your water is chlorinated so it stays fairly clean lots of people on hot days only down fall.
Always a good time at this fountain ⛲ even with Portland being outta control right now this place still has good vibes, families around and more. Rent a scooter and smash out …
Its great when the water is on. I havnt been since covid hit. Theres a splash pad but I'm sure it will still be off this summer. You can walk, bike, skate ect. down the waterfront.
I'm sorry, there is not enough information about the product mentioned. Could you please provide me with more details or context on the product so that I can assist you better?
Cool public fountain
Restrooms
There are public restrooms nearby
Dog-friendliness
You can bring your dog here
Picnic area
There's grass nearby for a picnic
Every summer these fountains are so much fun to walk through. The Portland waterfront is still a great place to visit. Hopefully Portland will make downtown safe again soon.
Neat water feature. Interesting mechanics behind it. Super strong water pressure. Not the greatest place to go post COVID. But definitely a landmark fountain for Portland.
A very central Portland Riverfront park. Sometimes you can walk under the fountain streams (depends on the settings, they rotate every 30 minutes or so). Lots of people.
A great river side to chil with water fountains. I recommend this place if you want to relax. This place offers you a side walk onto the bridge looking over the river.
a must visit while in Portland, Nice water front wide and clean side walk . great view of the river and the bridges. lots of activities and plenty of parking spaces.
Took the kids for a walk here from our hotel and they caught a bunch of Pokémon. They loved it.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of people out walking their dogs
It's a city fountain, so don't expect perfect cleanliness. That said, it's it's nice view of the river and always overrun with happy kids, so it's worth it
Great place to meet up on thirsty Thursday's at 19:00 and join in the Portland weekly bike ride and explore the city pedal powered with new friends!
Its a great place to bring your kids. Just don't forget a towel. Also it is not a far walk to VooDoo Donuts. That is a great after fountain treat.
Every Thursday at 19:30, for those who have a bicycle, skateboard, or roller skates, there is a wonderful ride for people to attend. Come join us!
Great relaxing time: when the Sun is out. Lay on grass, but bring something to lay out on. Ground may be wet during spring and early summer time.
Great place for a walk or picnic. Enjoy the Saturday Market a few blocks down on the weekend or grab a bite at one of the local restaurants!
Love this place. Been coming here since I was a child and before I can remember. Truly iconic Portland. Best on a hot day or after a run!
What a beautiful part of this Fair City :-) I was like watching the fountain :-) it's also a great backdrop for some fun photography :-)
We had some good moments. I would go again. One suggestion to Parks and Recreation; NW needs a skate park with half pipes and ramps.
So much fun to to with little ones to cool off and have some fun. Can be a little dirty so inspect for debris/glass just to be safe.
One of the best waterfront spots for taking pictures, cooling off in the water fountain or boarding the Spirit of Portland Cruise.
Great place to walk through and see the city in the background! It’s definitely a great place to sit back and enjoy the outdoors!
Besides the ongoing construction everyone is having a good time. Make sure you ride a bird scooter when your there. So much fun.
Damien & I played in the water at 4am having a wonderful time even though it wasn't the safest area to be in that time of night.
A prominent water feature of the Waterfront Park which draws children of all ages to run into the varying patterns. Fun for all!
I went down there to ride scooters with my son, we had a blast, but its So sad to see our city in such chaos and destruction...
Awesome place to cool off after the. Sat Market. The kids and dogs found welcome refuse in the cool water and I did too.
It's a PDX staple... You gotta play in the fountain or take a nap in a hammock next to it on a nice day to understand
Depending on the time of day there may be some large rowdy groups but generally a good place to splash with the kids
Well worth it had a lot of fun food looked expensive on menubut when arrived it was well proportioned and was good
Cool fountain to check out if you can make it past the construction & bloody shirtless kids licking the ground.
7 pm, every Thursday, rain or shine. Be here with wheels or be square, for the Thursday Night Ride. Trust me.
Best water fountain on the riverfront in my opinion. I believe it is the tallest. Family spot to cool off.
Beautiful place. Love the different mix of culture you get here. Nice place to get some sun and water fun.
Winter Light Fest. Groovy whale. In the summer people play in it. Rentals of bikes etc right here as well.
It's a GREAT place to come and pray! Walk talk and also enjoy beauty and to meet friends to start jogging
On a good summer day, with no crowds and other stragglers it's a pretty peaceful spot by the waterfront.
Not working and Portland needs a serious do over. Picking up the trash around the city would be helpful
I love this City at night. The streets are almost deserted some nights but the lights still blaze on.
Nice cool fountain to check out. Interest spot to people watch. However, people can be real weirdos.
The kids had an absolute blast. Fantastic way to spend an afternoon on those super hot summer days.
Winter Lights Festival at the Fountain was so much fun. Great addition to Portland in February.
It was a Blast on the 70s, 80s, and 90s spirit cruise . Will definitely go more offten!!! …
Beautiful scenery, full of beautiful flowers, great place to hangout and take pics, open 24/7.
Nice place on a hot day!!! Not really kid friendly... bad element around!!! Keep kids close!!!
Great meet up location. Thursday Night Cycling/bike ride, all bikes welcomed. meet up is 7pm.
It's a great little hangout. Skaters to watch and the like. Great lasagna at the deli there.
We volunteer every as Communication (Amateur Radio) for the March of Dimes/Walk for Babies.
Too many homeless people around but my kids and I do enjoy getting wet and having fun here
Good place for anyone too start or finish there downtown tour of my beloved Potlandia Or !
Me and my friend took the dogs and walked the waterfront and got a little wet in the water
Beautiful part of Portland by Willamette river - great for pictures and romantic walks.
We let off some Chinese lanterns for Marvin AKA tone not n u t t who passed on the 25th
Still pretty but it was prettier before the businesses start boarding their windows.
Awesome experience. beautiful moments and wonderful memories to keep ✨️in my …
Outdoor fountain usually active in warmer months. Good meeting and photo spot.
Ideal point for aerial view of columbia river which pass by downtown portland.
Nice place to meet with friends and allow your children to run through the.
Great cool off during summer. It was cool to see the geese like it also.
Beautiful place and a wonderful spot for an evening walk by the water.
