A year ago, a dear friend of mine lost her dog shortly after moving out to Portland and was devastated by the loss, especially after just having gone through such a big change in her personal life. Well, today marked the one-year anniversary of her losing her best buddy, so I wanted to do something special for her to show that I remembered and that I was thinking of her. Enter Sammy’s Flowers. I have used Sammy’s Flowers multiple times in the past at my office for various situations that have come up (new baby, death of a loved one, etc), and have always been impressed with the people I’ve worked with over the phone. But I’ve never used them for something so personal before where I’ve gotten to see someone I know be on the receiving end of one of their beautiful arrangements. So this morning I called up Sammy’s and was so happy to find out that they delivered out to West Linn, and that they could do it the same day as long as I got my order in by 11:00. The woman that answered the phone was so helpful and offered to help me place my order personally or told me I could also do it online. I ended up doing it online only because I didn’t know what arrangement I wanted yet, and the ordering process was a breeze. So much easier than a typical 1-800-FLOWERS or the like. So I went ahead and placed my order, then waited for the recipient to get her flowers. About 4:00, I heard my iPhone ding with a new message. It was a text from my friend with a gorgeous picture of the flower arrangement (which I will attach to this review) saying “I can’t stop crying, thank you from the bottom of my heart”. So Sammy’s, you nailed it! Mission accomplished. She said she felt so loved and cared for which was exactly what I was aiming for, and your flowers were even more beautiful than I’d hoped they would be. I will DEFINITELY continue to use your services again in the future, not just at our office, but in my personal life as well. Thank you again for a job well done and for making sure that the whole delivery process went so smoothly from start to finish. I will be recommending your services.

We booked Sammy's Flowers for our wedding only about 2 months prior (so a bit on the late side) but they were still able to accommodate our needs. Sage, their wedding florist, is wonderful. Sammy's offers a wedding consultation to discuss floral needs prior to booking, and Sage was extremely receptive to my ideas and input. She's highly knowledgeable of what is in season at certain times of year, as well as what effect a colder/wetter winter (such as we had in 2016-2017) would have on what is blooming. She offered suggestions that fit my ideas, and I never got the sense that she/Sammy's was trying to "up-sell" or force anything on me that we did not want or have the budget for. She even found a two-toned (purple & white) calla lily for the guys' boutonnieres based on a photo that my husband had found. We ordered 4 bouquets (bridal + bridesmaids), 8 boutonnieres for the groom/groomsmen/dads, 2 corsages for the mothers, and 2 altar pieces. Delivery was on time and the driver/delivery guy was professional & courteous. All pieces turned out gorgeous and coordinated well without being too "matchy." Everything lasted throughout the day - a solid 8.5 hours at least - with the altar pieces finally being tossed in the yard waste just yesterday (>2 weeks after the wedding!). Overall, this was a great deal for the artistry we received, and I'd recommend them to any Portland area brides looking for a unique & personal florist for their wedding.

AAA* What a fantastic business. Allow me to set the scene; I ordered flowers as a surprise for my girlfriend from the stores website for an anniversary. A calm and simple design, easy and efficient to use. It was easy to order my flowers and I didn’t feel flustered by the process of ordering and payment. Now, I should mention a plot twist, I live in London, England. With there being a time difference I placed my order in what would be the middle of the night. After waiting for the store to open, I thought to use some of those cheeky international minutes to double check my order had correctly come through. And so I rang in. I was greeted by a wonderful and very kind lady whom was exceptionally friendly and well versed in her role. I asked for a confirmation on my order and within seconds she had the answer. A darling yes. Later on today the flowers where delivered and I was informed by my girlfriend that they business had indeed called her to announce the delivery. And when they arrived they were in perfect and gleefully stood next too the door. A fantastic business. I will be calling on your services again. Thank you for helping to make someone happy.

I was just in Sammys flowers to purchase 14 small vases worth of flowers for a bridal shower this weekend. When I walked in there were two other people being helped and then they both left and I was literally the only person in the store and not a word was said to me. I had my small child that I had driven across town with and was given zero acknowledgment. I ended up leaving without anyone saying word to me after standing there for 10 minutes. Three or four members of their staff looked at my child at some point but never offered to help me or asked me what I needed. They all carried on doing whatever work they were doing and answering phone calls while I stood there waiting for someone to help me. I am generally a very patient person, and if someone had told me they were busy and would be with me in a few minutes I would’ve been fine with that. I am not sure what I will be doing for flowers for the bridal shower maybe nothing, but I definitely will not be going to Sammy’s flowers.

First I would like to express how nice the lady was that took my order. I had ordered a flower arrangement for a loved one in the hospital in Portland. I asked if 60 dollars was a good price for flower arrangement. She replied oh yes. My requests were for it to be very colorful and smells good. I did state her favorite color was yellow. She received some beautiful pink flowers. No complaints there. However, white rose, white carnations and small white flowers are not colorful. Trying to figure out how to add photo of the flowers. I didn't realize I would have to pay more money for a bigger arrangement being I was ordering from Portland. Two days after I wrote this posting. I got a phone call from the shop. The lady was very pleasant and was willing to rectify the problem. I would gladly order from this flower shop again. I am upping my rating from 1 to a 4.

I worked with Sage from Sammy's Flowers on my wedding after getting far too many overpriced quotes from other groups. Sammy's came recommended from another florist. Working with Sage, we had a dream wedding - the flowers were all vivid colors, with plenty of wildflowers and unusual combinations. She knocked every single detail out of the park and with a price tag that was half of what other florists were asking for. We had loads of flowers - covering the chuppah, over all of the tables, lining the aisle, bouquets, boutonnieres, and even some treated flowers for my hair! We got to keep the vases afterwards and I pressed my gorgeous bouquet to frame as a keepsake. I highly recommend working with Sammy's - come prepared with vision images, a list of flowers that you are interested in and a budget and they'll do it even better than you imagined.

GET YOUR FLOWERS AT SAMMY's !! Seriously !! My mom is watching my dog and he's had some "accidents" in the house and she was a bit "frustrated". After getting off the phone with her I decided flowers might make this whole situation a bit better. I got on-line to see if I could find some flowers from some of the top on-line flowers suppliers and their prices and quality, for that matter, were ridiculous. I looked up some local flower places and Sammy's came up. I called Sammy's, told them I saw something on their website but I wanted it to be bigger and more beautiful and they had it to her within 2.5 hours !! Oh and the price was totally reasonable !! Are you kidding me ?!?!? That is SHAMAAAAZING !! My mom was soooooooo surprised and happy !! THANK YOU SAMMY's FLOWERS !!! You've saved me and potentially my dog's life !!

Very very impressed with their customer service. I had a friend who's father died earlier today and I just found out about it at 3:30 pm. I wanted to get a huge bouquet of flowers over to her today, to help her know how much we cared. This late in the day no other florists would touch a delivery order. But these guys did! She actually stopped her delivery driver who was just heading out the door and said, "Hey! Hold on! I have one more important order that needs to go out!" And then she proceeded to take my order over the phone and they made the extra effort to get a really nice bouquet put together and out the door right away, on really short notice. That's the kind of old school customer service you just rarely see anymore. Thank you guys for helping make our friend's day better! Thanks for going the extra mile!

I called and ordered flowers for my wife who had just lost a cat of 17 years and spoke with a younger gal who seemed really rushed (but nice) and asked me what I wanted. I told here I wanted a nice spring mix of fragrant flowers and she asked me how much I wanted to spend. I told here I was willing to spend $100 and she asked me if I wanted tall or short arrangement to which I said short would be fine. I met up with my wife later that day to see the flowers sitting in the middle console of her car and was amazed at how small the bouquet was (and felt a bit bad thinking that maybe she thought I just ordered a small cheap arrangement from someplace). Anyway, the flowers did smell nice, lasted for about 5 days but the size/value for the money left me not wanting to use them again.

I’ve been debating on writing this review for months. We got some additional wedding photos back and realized how disappointed I was. The bouquet for our wedding was not what I asked for at all. The type of flower was the only thing that was correct. The bouquet broke instantly. There were too many flowers and the roses cracked off immediately. It became somewhat of a joke throughout the night because so many people got some. I asked for long stems roses in a smaller/medium bouquet. I got the heaviest bouquet with short stems. It was challenging to hold. It was expensive and ended up being tossed at the end of the night. I held it in maybe a couple photos. Unfortunate.

I was trying to be a return customer to a shop that I treated my soon-to-be fiance fairly well in my last arrangement and order, however calling at 12:35 to have an arrangement delivered by 4pm that is only 3 miles away from their shoparents is obviously to much to ask of this florist. The person who answered the phone was quite rude and the fact there was no exceptions whatsoever and that they were only delivering to the west side; which the destination is on the west side of the river so for that I will find somebody else to do my arrangements in downtown Portland.

My experience at Sammy’s flowers was aces. It has been almost a year and I caught myself reminiscing on the whole day, remembering how everything seemed to flow together perfectly. My husband (fiancé at the time) and I were eloping and just stopped by to grab a bouquet. I’m not sure what the man’s name was who helped us, but he was so patient and knowledgeable about their selection. He put my bouquet together in ten minutes and it was exactly what I had wanted and the price I couldn’t believe. Thank you Sammy’s for making a special day easy and beautiful.

We love Sammy’s!!!! They have the most stunning arrangements. Our Valentine’s Day order had a bit of an issue, but Miss Sage took care of the issue so quickly, I was honestly shocked! Superb customer service!!! What I appreciated most was Miss Sage’s empathy and kindness in handling it. She owned it and rectified it immediately. No excuses, no games, just owned it fixed the problem with grace. Because of how Miss Sage handled and dealt with the hiccup, we will continue to order arrangements here in the future and HIGHLY recommend Sammy’s!!!

I love Sammy’s! I’ve been going to them for a while now for Mother’s Day and other random events, so I decided to use them for my wedding and I couldn’t have been happier. They were exactly what I was hoping for and actually exceeded my expectations! I asked for anemones and even though they weren’t in season, they worked hard to make it happen anyway. It was ready to pick up on time and they stayed fresh for 3 days amidst travel and heat! They are always so sweet and give the best service. I will forever be a loyal customer!

Sammy's Flowers went above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. I live in NM and my mother had surgery today, I'd called around and couldn't find a same-day delivery (she was supposed to stay the night) Sammy's said they could squeeze me in and they even called to say the flowers were well hidden until my sister could get to the apt. because, well she ended up staying the night after all! I asked him to go back an deliver them to the correct address and he just said . . . . I'm very sorry about that. hope your day gets better. . . . . REALLY!

I have been driving by for years and decided to try them for Mother's Day. Only regret is I did not stop sooner! They did a beautiful job! They very pleasant to work with and were reasonably priced. I had a $100 budget and they looked like a million! My wife said it was one her most favorite bouquets ever. We make a lot of purchases for personal/business events too and we will be switching completely over to Sammy's. I highly recommended to stop and give them a try!

I have used Sammy’s many times with always being highly satisfied. Today on Valentine’s Day, in spite of the snow, ice, and terrible road conditions, they were able to deliver the flowers and chocolates I ordered for my wife. Michael, the delivery person made even a special effort to return after I had missed his original call on his first delivery attempt. Definitely customer service beyond all expectations. Even in normal times I would highly recommend Sammy’s.

What a ripoff. What a disappointment. This is not my idea of a $50 flower arrangement. I was disgusted when the recipient sent me a photo of the flowers I gifted her. More leaves than flowers, certainly not even passable, let alone beautiful. Your bouquet looks like dregs of leftovers. Even the vase was less than inspiring. I tried calling you to register my disappointment but no one answered the phone! It is really annoying to see a photo of what was delivered.

This flowershop has actually moved from by the Trader Joes up to near 23rd, so it isn't as convenient for me to go here on the way home from work and pick up flowers for my wife. The staff is still great at making arrangements for you and are all creative and helpful. Stop in and surprise that significant other of yours. All you need to do is have some idea of tastes and you could be the greatest person in the world to them within 10 minutes.

My partner was so sweet to get me flowers on my birthday! Unfortunately, the flowers that were delivered were sad and already wilted. By no means, do I expect flowers to last more than a week but these lasted less than a day. We been to many flower shops around Portland and this was the poorest arrangement. Again, not one to be a downer or leave a poor review but flowers are very pricey so I think we should all get what we pay for…

This place is my favorite! I love that I can build my own bouquet here for a decent price, but the staff will still help me arrange my blooms in an aesthetically pleasing way. They are always super friendly and have a nice selection of flowers, plants and accessories. I like to spoil myself here! I also like to get flowers for my engagement session clients to surprise them :) I dont think you can go wrong at Sammys.

I had a friend visiting Portland recently for a Professional Seminar. We are from the Boston area. I called Sammy's for a flower delivery to the hotel. The arrangement was superb. Made with natural flowers from the area. It included wild berries as well as flowers. It was more than I imagined, and priced very reasonably I might add. The staff was so kind and knew exactly what to do. Thank you !!!!!!!!!

Ordered flowers for my anniversary to be delivered to my partner at work. Excellent customer service. The whole experience was simple and easy. I was able to pick a nice flower arrangement in my price range and it turned out beautifully. The flowers lasted a long time as well. There was quick delivery without any issues. Highly recommend their services and will definitely use them for future occasions.

I don't know why exactly this is my favorite place for flowers. It could be that they have a great selection, out where it's easy for you to pick exactly what you want. The prices are really good as long as you watch what you're picking. You can put together a really nice bouquet for about 20 bucks. Or you can ask them to do it give them a price and they'll put together a nice arrangement.

Originally they said 12pm which was fine but then I found out I needed them before 11am so I called back and asked and they said yes and got them to me by 9:20! Love this little flower shop! I've been in a few times for some pots for my potted plants. The only thing I wish is that they had some plastic pots to put inside their pots. They advise to put your plant in a plastic pot and not just in their pots so the roots don't get over-watered and moldy. But then don't have the plastic pots for sale, so you have to go to Home Depot or wherever.

I love going here whenever I'm in Portland & the last time especially was super amazing. Morgan put together a gorgeous arrangement from the flowers that I selected ( super fun experience). She even gift wrapped a secondary gift I had. Also picked up a super cute friendship plant in a custom container for such a great price! The chocolate is amazing too! Highly recommend!!

I absolutely adore Sammy's! This was my go-to florist while in Portland. They were so friendly and always had a great selection. Lots of plants and succulents at such good prices and just worth it in general. The folks here go out of there way for you and one time even received free bouquet of flowers while shopping around with my partner. Try this place or just go visit!

Their flowers are beautiful, but definitely on the pricy side—you get what you pay for though! The flowers that I've gotten there have always been fresh and lasted pretty long, not comparable to the flowers you can get at the grocery store. The decor is tasteful and the staff is friendly. I think they deliver too. Sammy's flowers are great for special occasions!

I ordered the loose wrapped roses for my girlfriend's birthday. The order was delivered in about an hour and a half. The flowers looked great. No wilting or bruising what-so-ever. It all looked great and the process was very simple.
