"A place of honor for all those who served this land they call home! We as a nation, are made up of nationalities from all parts of the world to make these United States what it is today! I honorably served my country, dedicating 6 years of my life in the United States Army and proud of my country! I try to pay homage to this sacred place everytime I come here! "God Bless The Troops & God Bless America!""

even though we are not from the US you could really feel the history hidden in this place. besides that the view on the bay is really nice if you walk up to the top of the cemetery. when we walked back down we encountered an elderly man with his daughter. it was very hard for him to walk up the hill. she asked us for a specific grave number and we kindly pointed her into the right direction. after asking if she needs some help she replied "thanks, we are fine.... that's just my dad who, on passing by, remembered that HIS dad is burried here" which gave us goosebumps and made this place stay in our memory forever.
My father, Lt (jg) Robert Trask Terry, M.D. is buried here. The cemetery is beautifully sited and beautifully maintained, especially with the recent initiative to re-set every stone with laser-like precision. Thanks to those who keep this place looking as sacred as it should. As for the questions as to why it is national, this is because it is administered and maintained by the federal government as a national cemetery.

It seems strange to review a place like this... The grounds are immaculately kept and the sweeping lines of white head stones receding into the distance backed by dark trees and surrounded by green lawns are magestic as well as sad. They remind us of the futility of war. The thousands of lives lost giving service to their nation. Definitely worth a visit for a moment of quiet reflection.
Overlooking the Golden Gate bridge, the cemetery is a peaceful great place. A lot of people visit this place whoever comes for a tour to Golden Gate bridge. The serenity and peace will surely make you stand there for a while and take pictures. And of course, it is very well maintained. The manicured grasses and the trees in between the graves just make the place more beautiful.
About five years ago my family visited the cemetery where my great grandfather and my great grandmother are buried Wesley Armstrong, he was a Colonel in the Army and I was in Ahhhh, and proud, my great grandfather was a very interesting man, the cemetery is Beautifully kept, very proud. …
My parents were in WWII and are buried here. It is a beautiful cemetery with so much sacrifice, bravery and history. I am so happy our heroes are laid to rest in such a beautiful place. Come by and take some time to remember our heroes. Memorial day weekend is a great time.
A very respectful Army cemetery. Located in the San Francisco Presidio near the Golden Gate Bridge. A historic cemetery with many century old graves. Very well maintained and not spooky like many San Francisco parks. In other words, there are no guys hiding in the bushes.
A humbling place to come and reflect, or just to get a sense of history and understanding of the impact of war, and its outcomes. The fallen here have a beautiful resting place, with a fabulous view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Thought provoking and beautifully managed.
I always feel weird visiting a cemetery as a tourist. After all, it's a way to pay respect. This place is beautiful late in the day. At sunset, you'll get a very nice and unusual view on the Golden Gate Bridge (cf pictures).
Wir haben den Friedhof von außen betrachten können. Er war total auf Vordermann gebracht worden durch den vorangegangenen Veterans Day (11.11.2018). Beeindruckendes Bild, regt aber auch zum Nachdenken an.
A historic place when visiting the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center. When leaving from the GGBWC, head to the Presidio sector and find the place of our honored heroes. Be well Vacationsensei
Today's experience made me wonder about where I will be laid to rest. In the far future, I too may be buried in a national cemetery. Something that I should discuss more with my wife.
A very spiritual place. The thought of a cemetary might sound morbid, but surrounded by white in every direction this place inspires contemplation of the eternal
This cemetery is beautiful place that holds tremendous meaning. The grounds are kept very well and there is a fantastic view of the water at the top of the hill.
It's Cemetery but people make it like a tourist place if it's gate closed but people take picture from out side. quite place . wheel chair accessible place .
Such a beautiful location surrounded by green grass, tall trees and a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
This cemetery is one of the largest I have ever seen , there’s a few Buffalo Soldiers buried here as well.
Eerily beautiful. The endless white pillars make a touched and sad, but the beautiful view is stunning.
As a UK visitor it was humbling seeing how much respect is shown for those who have given their lives
Beautifully maintained military cemetery on a hill with views out to the bay and Golden Gate Bridge.
Nella parte alta la vista é molto bella..é un classico cimitero americano...ci sono i bagni gratis..
This is the national cemetery in Presidio. Very well maintained. This place has a dignified look.
Cimitero filimico per la serialita delle tombe...vista interessante anche del golden gate!
Beeindruckend wie viele für ihr Land gestorben sind. Wir sind mit dem Auto durchgefahren.
I always walk by here. Breathtaking views of the Bay as well as the Golden Gate Bridge!
Beautiful place to visit. So much history just looking at all the different headstones.
Love the somber atmosphere with a great view of the Golden Gate bridge
Beautiful setting to honor the fallen in conflicts since the 1700s.
A lot of stones and dead people, pretty grim
