4 weeks ago experience/ 1 Star Rating: At first I was excited because I noticed they finally replaced the brushes, and are once again accepting debit cards. This is the only place in town I would go to because of the true spot free rinse. Everything seemed to be going great until I checked my bank account and my car dried. I was charged $10 when the sign clearly says $5, and when my car dried there are spots all over the windows. There’s no phone number posted on the door, or anywhere that I can see, to call and inquire/ dispute about the charge, Or notify them that their spot free rinse is not working…there is no phone number posted online, no website—All I can do is post this review and dispute it through my bank, SMH. Today, I gave it another chance… I was hopeful that my previous experience was not going to be the new norm. To amend my previous review, after posting the review the $10 debit card processing/pending charge was adjusted to the advertised $5 by the time it posted to my account, which I appreciated. The stall I used this time didn’t have a new brush, but the brush that was there worked sufficiently. I used quarters instead, this time mostly because I had them already on-hand, So I can’t speak to whether they fixed the problem across the board (with using a debit card), or just with my experience/situation. Putting in $5 worth of quarters, the time does start counting down right away as you’re putting the quarters in, which is a little bit of a bummer, but I still got close to nine minutes of wash time. And most significantly for me, was to test the spot free rinse… Sadly, there are still spots… They must’ve changed something because this is the second time—different stall, same spotted result :( It did a fairly good job cleaning my vehicle, but because the spot-free rinse is no longer “spot-free” I couldn’t change the 1 Star rating to beyond 3 Stars… Seems I’m gonna have to look for a new car wash spot :(

One of the best self service car wash I have gone to. All the bays seemed to work, the price was good and they even have vacuum stations before and after the washing. The pistol worked very well and had good pressure as well as amount of soap. The brush had a lot a lot of very foamy soap, amazing! I usually spend about $3 at these places but this one was so good that I ended up really washing my car in detail, spending about $12 at the end. The place looks clean and alive, unlike most others of the kind which look like they have been abandoned and are there just as coin collectors. The only issue I had was that my specific bay didn't accept credit card, but they have a coin changer near by so no biggy.

I wouldn't be upset at all until the employee there today stared me down while I was getting quarters from the machine. He rudely asks if I intend to wash my car... I look at my car parked in the bay and say yes. And then I ask why he felt he needed to ask me that. He says because I got $10 in quarters. I proceeded to get another $5 in quarters because I'd intended to do more than just hose it down and go. He walked by me multiple times giving me the stink eye so I left with my tons of quarters at that point and likely won't return. I've been going every other week and never seen him before.

When I pulled into a car wash bay I noticed that the music was unbelievably loud. After a few minutes, the young man working there decided to crank this up to a decibel level which could shatter glass. Having no ear plugs with me, and in order to save my hearing, I left with the vehicle only partially washed. I then located another do-it-yourself which lacked the noise feature. Suggestion: Make sure you have ear plugs if using the San Mateo Car Wash.

Constant loud bass and music all hours of the night coming from carwash. Several homes and apartments are just on the other side of the wall that has a sign saying [no loud music]. It is the rudest thing in the world and enough to make people move. No way to contact owners, cops don't care. Basically have to risk your own life to tell people to turn their music down when they have been "cleaning" their car for over an hour at 4am.

The hoses are usually leaky, the credit card readers sometimes work, they have their own speakers playing something that is between "new hit music" and "classic rock" as if the dial is stuck in between stations because mostly you get is annoying static. Generally pretty quiet and if you want to spend some time washing your car this is a decent spot only if you're in the neighborhood, otherwise there are plenty of better options.

9-21-22: Second time here, first was ok. But this time the hose connection leaked, then BROKE, spraying me with soapy water. Had to move to another stall and spend more $, but only because by then my car and I were both covered with soapy water. Lost $2, no attendant, no # posted to call for refund and report the broken hose, and website didn't load.

Great Car Wash!!!!! First time coming here and wasn't disappointed, the machine suction is great, and the DIY wash is great too! I'll definitely be coming here, it's better than Mister carwash for sure, especially since there they just do a quick wash, and aren't very hands on in cleaning the left over water drops

Clean car wash, everything works! The vacuums are newer and clean well and are a $1.00 to start for 3-4min, the car wash wands had great pressure, soap, rinse and even brush worked very well and are a $1.50 to start for 3 min. Adding quarters will give more time on vacuums and car wash bays. Happy clean truck!

The vacuums in the back are amazing! The actual wash stall is good as long as you aren't like me and don't wash your car every 6 months. If you need to really scrub it down Id suggest bringing your own products including wax. I still had to really scrub it down by hand before rinsing.

This place is pretty clean, they use warm water, nice n soapy. No complaints at all. Wayyyyyy better than most of the self-service car washes here in ABQ. The staff there takes good care of the location. I wud most definite take your vehicle there and you won't be disappointed.

Have had good experiences for almost 3 years. However, today one of the bays was malfunctioning. After I finished my wash, I watched next person pull in and press button on credit card reader and get FREE carwash. I am worried the charge is going on my credit card.

Not a bad car wash most of the vaccuums and sprayers in the bays work and the vending machines are usuaally stocked...well i guess some of them anyway lol. It's usually poppin' on the weekends if u trying to meet sum new peeps

I really like using this car wash because they have the credit card readers rather than requiring cash. They have all the standard soap and rinse options you need and their equipment is always functional and in good repair.

Served its purpose for my needs. Card option available for payment of you don't have cash. What I truly liked was that a staff member was there picking up loose materials and placing it in the garbage! Eco conscious!

It's pretty close by. It's open 24/7. Car wash takes cards. Only thing it's missing are for the vacuums to accept cards, as well. I never carry change on me :/ Otherwise. I like this place. It works for me :)

Sometimes you just have to get out there and get wet. If that is the case this car wash takes care of the essentials. Very good pressu6 and all the lines work. Plus they have a cool rainbow wax that I like.

Ghetto... babies crying, suspicious people walking around, random cars parked everywhere, shootings every other month, etc. But we still use it because it's a cheap convenient place to wash a vehicle.

Clean, steady traffic for a weekday morning but not much of a wait; vaccuum and wash worked fine; wash takes card or quarters, $5/10 minute wash; vaccuum only takes quarters, $1/ 10 minutes?

The best car wash I have ever been to, They have very good working machines with plenty of soap an every other setting you go to. I am really pleased with this perticular self car wash bravo

The equipment worked well. We must have misunderstood or not read completely all the "fine print". We were under the impression that it was a $3 pressure wash but ended up costing over $10.

San Mateo Car Wash is a Very Good place to wash your car it made my car very clean and the place is clean and the employees were very nice to help me.I really recommend this car wash.

Good soap content and decent price for a quick spray off for off roaders! Credit card might be in or out of service but it's not too pricey for quarter use it's a buck fifty to start!

Lots of soap and wash options, vacuums, and decent atmosphere. A car was waiting behind us but we did not feel rushed. I recommend bringing your own brush, as theirs are heavily used.

It is a really nice carwash the site is clean and everything work's I like how they have the updated card machine were u can use ur debit card incase u dont have cash on you!

Accidentally left floor mats on clips, came back about 30 min later and they were gone. They say FJ on it please let me know if you picked them up or saw someone taking them.

Love the warm water and especially appreciate the clear coat protectant! It is a superior product. I drive clear across town to wash here specifically for that clear coat! Ty

***Car Wash Timer Needs Adjustment*** $10 lasted 4 minutes.I spent more time depositing quarters then washing my car. Wouldn’t mind coming back. Enjoyed the extra Soap Wash.

Someone left glitter all over stall and in high pressure gun and triple foam gun! Ruined paint on my 43k 2017 STi. Wish thier was Owner contact info cause this is bs!.

I'm probably wrong but the timer seems to go down fast and the spot free didn't work but I'm sure it was just temporary over all a great self service carwash …

I just got shorted $3 here: $2.50 on a non functioning stall and 50 cents on a "truck towel".. and there is no attendant to help. I definitely will NOT be back.

Kind of expensive and the "spot free* is not spot free. Once my car dried there was spots all over. Wouldn't accept my card and would only take quarters.

It was a nice area well cleaned didn't have a bunch of homeless people hang around it the machines War well maintenanced in the crisis were good

Open 24 hrs. Great place to get the job of cleaning your wheels of 1,2,3 or 4. Just be careful of the 2 legged element that hangs around there.

Great water pressure. Haven't had to wait in the early evening. Other customers have been friendly. Good place for a quick car wash.

They got their machinery to work with little more power but the time to clean is very short. But I was able to clean it.

Owner keeps the place clean, unlike other manual car washes. Cash or card is accepted.
