I just had an unpleasant experience there. I ordered a flat white and a Thai chicken salad. The coffee was great. But the chicken in the salad had very bad alkaline flavor. I can tell that was by marinating with too much baking soda, and the texture of the chicken was unreasonably tender. I reported it to the lady at the checkout and she asked one of her employees tried the chicken. The poor staff responded quietly “ I think it tasted normal...I think...”. And I suggested the lady to try herself, but she refused. She told me “The chicken’s no problem. If you don’t like the food it’s fine, but that’s how we make it. Now, do you want something else or do you want refund? I told her I want my money back. Than she refunded $16 to me and said sorry. What disappointed me was that the manager did not accept the negative feedbacks, and refused to take the opportunity to know customer’s complaints. I believe the business will be better if they take the feedback seriously.

I stumbled into this, to me yet unknown coffee shop on a rainy, dreary day, rather famished. I was in the mood for fish and chips but perked up my ears when the fish on offer (among, no doubt, other fish offers) was Barramundi with Salad and chips. It was more than I wanted to pay ($22) but I decided to eat just half and take the rest home, to have for dinner. Well! When my dish arrived, I thought they had forgotten to half it, it was that big! With it came the other half of my dish, for dinner, all neatly boxed up. I tasted heaven! The fish was steamed, tender and so tasty! The chips were like those the French make; thin, crunchy and delicious! The salad was fresh and ample! A meal truly fit for a queen! Go and pay them a visit. I know you are salivating by now!

Incredibly friendly and inviting staff, I’ve been here during peak hours on workdays, as well as quiet Sundays where I want to work somewhere different for a change of pace, service is just as good regardless! Atmosphere thanks to the decor is homely and very pleasant. Plants and soft colours, furniture that feels like it belongs and isn’t generic mass produced stuff really helps make this a great place to get drinks and food. Coffee is crafted with experience, I’ve yet to have a bad cup. Food selection is what you would expect from a cafe, sandwiches and the like made to order. Highly recommend, whether you need a quick cup to go before your commute, or somewhere to sit and chat for a while.

I often stop by Savvy Coffee for a latte, chai or a salad sandwich on my way to and from open houses on Saturdays and during the week. Today I had a little more time so I opted for one of their specials - halloumi, egg and avocado on toast with a sweet potato purée. It was fabulous! Best meal I’ve had in ages! So was their fresh squeezed watermelon juice. I highly recommend Savvy Coffee. The food always tastes fresh and the service is on point. Thank you Savvy Coffee see you again soon!

Coffee experience is inconsistent. One day great...next day mediocre. Dirty crockery and when returned for clean plate, just met with a look...no apology or smile. The biggest upset was that poor fish in that tiny fish tank. I asked the staff to ask their boss to remedy the situation... Well at least I know they won't flush the poor fish down the toilet, because the toilet was broken!

Busy Sunday morning, which we appreciated, and were patient. After waiting 35 mins our 2 Cappuccinos were finally served and we were asked what food we had ordered. After another 10 mins still no food so went in to ask how much longer and after realising our order (of a simple Eggs on Sourdough) were not even started we got a refund. Sadly disappointed after being patient and accepting it was busy, however being forgotten twice was not good customer service.

Had to wait 25mins for 2 coffees only had 2 people working on a Sunday morning? Isn't Sundays spose to be one of the busiest days for a Cafe? Coffee is okay so they get a extra star but with the 25min wait this is just not good enough also no sorry for wait once coffee was ready! Plenty of other cafes around with much better service and coffee.

I just moved to Hornsby and have tried all the cafes in the area. This one is the best, hands down. Lovely staff who make a great coffee and I just tried their bacon and egg roll today; small details like a nice runny egg yolk, nice crispy and soft bun, perfectly cooked bacon. Damn i want another one now hahaha. Keep up the great work.

The coffee is good. Service with a smile. If you are in a hurry best not to go here, especially in busy times, you may have to wait. Food is average. The court yard is in need of maintenance yet it is still a good place to take a break over coffee.

Friendly but basic. To make "un-basic", could make the Menu a little more expansive and multi-cultural eg French Toast, Breakfast Burrito, Chorizo Omelette (every Cafe that has a kitchen should have its signature omelette). And improve the decor

  • Robert F

Really good coffee a little bit expensive though, they just moved to the middle of the Asquith shopping strip and didn't reduce their prices. This is notable to locals only who understand the duopoly the landlords have in the area.

Been here twice, both times I got a bacon and egg roll with a hash brown and a latte. Good coffee, good service, fantastic B&E and they don’t waste any time getting your order out and only $12 for the lot!!!

Ususally good this time coffee was cold , ordered an omelette with only cheese and ham no bread with it got charged the same price even though I omitted tomatoes and bread , doesn’t make sense to me

Hit n miss a little, had a couple of good meals, and a couple not as good. Staff are really friendly and the decor is great. I'll give them another go and hope to be able to increase the rating.

Our family ordered grilled barramundi with salad and chips and the haloumi burger via Uber Eats, pick up last night. The meals were ready on time, generous portions and delicious.

  • The Top

Takeaway coffee here every morning when staying in Asquith. 28-12-20 Update: They have moved up the road a bit now & I had the grilled barramundi for dinner which was delicious.

Best coffee in Asquith/Hornsby. The complimentary butter cookie also goes down a treat! My kids also tell me they do the best milkshakes. The staff are also friendly and kind.

  • Jeffrey Au-Yeung

The only Cafe in the shopping strip. But luckily is good, great place to just sit down and chat (good ambience). Small menu but well priced. No issues with their coffee.

  • Keef the village drunk

Great little cafe in a convenient location opposite the train station and right on the main road. Homely decor but not outdated. Quick service, decent coffee and food.

Open on Good Friday which was great. Coffee and food was good and service was fine. The state of the bathroom however was disgusting and would put me off returning.
