I had been taking my vehicles to Schwabe's Automotive Centre for many years and they never cease to amaze me with their honesty, professionalism and diligence. We recently moved, making Schwabe's location more difficult to get to. As a result, I had foolishly taken my car into the dealership about a year ago about a check engine light. The dealership gave me about 12 items they indicated needed to be done to address the issue. Total estimate was about $5,000. I elected to do 11 of the things indicated in the quote. When I got my car back the check engine light was still on. That was when they explained to me that the 11 things I asked them to do were not actually necessary and that only the thing that I had not done actually needed to be completed to address the check engine issue. I took it back to the dealership a couple of weeks ago. I was told during that visit that the quote I was given the year prior was actually the wrong thing that needed to be done to fix the issue and that they wanted about $10,000 to repair my car. Being confused I asked them to do a further diagnostic check to be sure and invited them to do it for free given the competing diagnoses and quotes I had received. They declined. I then wised up and took it back to the tried, trusted and true fellas at Schwabe's. Within an hour of dropping the car off they advised me the cost of the repair would be in the $4,000 to $5,000 range. However, they then explained to me that, while not guaranteed, there is a much cheaper fix that often works to address the same issue I was experiencing, with the cost of that repair in the $400 to $500 range. I will never again make the mistake of taking my car to a dealership. I have had other experiences with Schwabe's where it has been clear to me that they are not out to gouge, over inflate cost or be dishonest with their diagnoses. They have always proved to be extremely honest and recommend only those things that are actually necessary. Moreover, they will think outside the box and often present more cost effective options. 5 STAR ALL THE WAY!

The people at Schwabe's did a great job diagnosing the problem with my Subaru (July 2013). And I appreciated it that after diagnosing the problem, they called me before they started the work to find out which work I wanted them to proceed on and how much it would cost, to make sure it wasn't too expensive for me. They told me how much it would cost for parts and labour to replace the 2 belts (to fix the squealing problem) and how much for the tune-up (to fix the engine cylinder mis-firing). I said to proceed with the work, and when I went to pick the car up the cost was exactly what they said it would be. They said that my car would be ready by 3pm and they'd call me when ready, and they did indeed call me later at 3pm saying my car was ready. They also told me that there was another issue with my car which would cost $150 to fix, but they said that it wasn't necessary to fix it anytime soon. I appreciated this because I think it shows honesty on their part, as other auto repair shops might say that I need to fix it right away when in reality I didn't, just to get more money. They took time on the phone to answer my questions and the staff were very polite. They are one of the best garages I've been to, I definitely recommend them. I've been to them with various different vehicles over the past 10 years and they've always been really good.

Just picked my car up from here, this is the second time I’ve had work done at schwabes. And there’s a very good reason I keep going back! Always quality service with a smiling face (yes, you can see it even with a mask) So far, Blair, Shirley and Al have been a delight, answering my many questions, or promptly getting back to me when checking for the right answer. I’m a young woman, it’s always a little nerve wrecking getting my car taken in, sometimes I can get taken advantage of or ridiculed for maybe not being the best at maintenance I never get that here. My options are always laid out, I feel confident when I agree to a service, because it’s been explained to me in great detail. I’ve had no issues with any work done at all and as someone who knows nothing about cars I feel very comfortable bringing my car in for service and (now) regular maintenance in a way that still fits into my monthly budgets. Blair, you’d make a great dentist! Thank you team!

The parking brake on our company truck seized (or so I thought). I walked to the nearest shop (who I won't name) who told me they were too busy for me. So I called Schwab's who was also apparently very swamped with jobs, however, the gentleman, who I'm assuming was the manager or owner, was courteous and patient enough to give me 5 minutes of his day, free of charge, and help diagnose the problem. As it turned out, he knew that some GMC trucks have a lever that releases the parking brake. What exceptional customer service. I can only imagine that this is representative of the quality service I could expect if I took my vehicle here for repair. There just aren't too many businesses like this anymore. I'll be recommending to anyone looking for a mechanic.

Took a loose rim/tire here to get repaired. They repaired it in a timely manner at a reasonable price, but after I installed it back on the car it went flat after a couple of days. So I took it back to them to see what was going on and they kindly explained to me how there is nothing wrong with the tire or rim. However, since it was so cold out, the stretched tire was shrinking and loosing air from the bead and they simply had to re-seat the tire. They completed this re-service at no cost and recommended how I store these summer tires over the winter season. It was obvious to me they put a high emphasis on customer service and I would recommend them to anyone.

I needed a very difficult job to be performed on my 2010 Toyota Highlander. On my first/diagnostic visit the owner (Rick) was kind enough to give me a ride to/from my home since I didn't have access to a second vehicle. Blair did a great sourcing hard to find parts (due to the SUV's age), it took over a month to obtain them but he perservered. The mechanics completed the complicated task (it involved more than one day of labour) and all seems well three weeks later (Blair assured me if any problems arose to bring it back in).

Brought my car in because this place is right by my work and my car was acting up at lunch. They charged me $115 to read the codes, and quoted me $900+ just for the part to fix my car. Luckily my friends brother is owns a mechanic shop in BC and he was in town, I found the part for $282 at bumper to bumper and he installed it for me, he said if I had brought it to his shop he would have charged $450 max for reading the codes, the part and labour. Not sure how they get away with charging so much but I will not be back

February 9, 2017. Brought my car in with a breaks problem that came up on my way to work. The service at Schwabe's was over and above, and even thought I wasn't planning on bringing up the previous issue I had six months prior, they had kept a record of it and bright it up themselves, offering to make it right. Great service and attitude, nice, accommodating people, contact you promptly during servicing to ask what you'd like done. Would absolutely encourage this shop over any type of big boxed establishment.

Schwabes is always honest and super helpful. They will always go above and beyond, without selling you stuff you don’t need. One time when doing brake repairs on our grand caravan, there was one part they told us will probably need to be replaced, but they would try to fix it up and clean it and see if that would be good enough. They gave it a shot and it ended up working, costing them more time but saving us money since we didn’t have to buy the new part! Thanks Schwabes!

Schwabes is amazing. My husband has been going there since he was in high school (so like 25 years haha) and so we've gone there since we got married. they are always courteous and do a really good job of explaining what they did to the vehicle and what they found. Their pricing is fair and their work is top notch. Their customer service is amazing they even have vacuumed out the back seats of my minivan filled with kid related crumbs haha. Now that's customer service! .

I work just a few blocks away from this place, and many of my colleagues use this shop and I have heard nothing but good things. Recently I was in the market for a new set of all-season tires for my small economy car, and their price was significantly higher (20%+) than their competitors in the area (for tires, and for mount/balance). Seems to me that they're just not interested in selling tires, which is a shame because it would have been so convenient!

My air conditioning wasn't working and my dad recommended Schwabe. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem and phoned me with an update. They gave me a price estimate over the phone and although we decided in the end not to go through with the repair (vehicle is old with many km on it) the guys at Schwabe were quick, honest, and fair. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and will use them again in the future for any automotive repair needs.

They charged me $70 just to tell me I had the wrong tires. Unbeknownst to me, the autobody last year that misplaced my seasonal tires. I was charged half an hours worth of labour for them to figure that the tires did not fit. The front counter employee still charged me even after admitting they should have checked to see if the tire size was correct. So now I have 2 problems rather than 1. Its rather expensive considering its competitors.

I have gone to Schwabe's for over three years and I keep going back because of the excellent customer service they provide. They have no problem taking the time to explain car issues and if they find something during inspections they will provide all the necessary information you need before going forward with fixing or ordering a part. They helped me right away when my tire went flat. I won't go anywhere else.

I have been taking my Dodge Nitro here for the past 2 years any time it needed repairs. Blair is always straight forward about what needs to be done and the cost before any work is started. And the last time I was in, he was candid about how my car wasn’t worth repairing anymore. I appreciate his advice (I recently got a new car), and I recommend him and the Schwabe team to anyone who needs work on their car.

I have brought business twice to Schwabe's. On the second occasion there was a misunderstanding and as a result I was not content with the situation. Upon brining my concern to the attention of Rick there was a swift response. Not only did they try to rectify the technical issue with my vehicle, but he was willing to compensate me. The customer service from this company went above expectations.

not happy with alignment-- they did wheel alignment twice for mine newer caravan, first time the steering wheel not center, so they did second for free- its centered after, But after less than 2 months driving saw feathering on front tires edge-- they are brand new before alignment, the front toe is out of spec causing the tire feathering edge! not recommend for alignment .

Honest techs here. Went in for wheel alignment but wanted them to see if there was something else wrong with front right side suspension because of little noice I was hearing. opon checking they told me nothing else seems to be wrong so I asked them to go ahead with the alignment. Once they were done the car drives like new. No more noise either. Place for recommendations

Very knowledgeable technicians and very reasonable prices. I won't take our vehicles anywhere else. I absolutely trust Blair and his staff with our safety. TLDR - Amazing Service So I recently visited Schwabe's for a misfire on my vehicle. Turns out I had been putting off this issue for 2 years for nothing as it was simply a poor ground wire. In the end it was a repair within my budget (below actually!) and have had no issues since! Could not recommend a more honest and professional mechanic shop. Cheers fellas!

This is just a great auto repair shop. Sure, it sells good tires and stuff, but it is the way that they work with customers that really makes unique. Clients like me keep coming back, with their friends and family following them in. It's kind of a well-kept secret in the neighbourhood. We want it to do well, but not so well that they change anything!

Candid, personable and great at explaining inspection findings to me at a level I understood. Based on automotive work I've had done before, their prices are very competitive too, and the life time warranty on the parts they install is appreciated! Their hours are also better than most automotive shops I've been to as well

Worst grage ive ever been to in my life got ripped off for 1500! Had to go and get all the work they did redone. Definitely dont recommend, even brought my vechiel back 2 times and they still refused to fix it when i had two other grages say that there work was a joke and needed to b redone

Well, I honestly cannot say enough good about Schwabe’s. They did a major repair on our vehicle’s engine. Great work, reasonable price. Very pleasant to deal with. We had some follow up issues that they looked at quickly and dealt with quickly and professionally. I highly recommend them.

Brought my tire with a small hole to get a repair. Guy told me was not leaking fixed the bead. Lowered car hear air coming out brought it back. They say they double checked it and no air coming from hole or bead to end up destroying my tire driving home as it was all air.

The team at Schwabe’s really make a difference. It is hard to find a shop nowadays like Schwabe’s which really care about quality work, honesty and true customer service. I recommend taking your vehicle to Schwabe’s for all your automotive repair/maintenance needs.

I called them as soon as they opened on Monday morning in a panic about a vehicle of mine not starting, they promised me it would get looked at same day, and not only that, by 1pm the next day the vehicle was fixed and ready to go home! Great job Schwabe’s!

I always get great service and excellent work and their prices are very reasonable. They never try to sell me work I don't need, but they also offer helpful checks on the overall condition of the car.

Good customer service, however the $79.99 that is advertised gets bumped into $100 plus shop supplies. So there is somewhat a deceptive advertising to pull people in. Wasn't very pleased with that!
