I was born and raised a catholic but over the last few years I have been questioning religion and God. Al though not being super religious I at times wander around old parish buildings and churches across Melbourne in pure awe of the architecture and the workmanship of some of these buildings. During one such trip I stumbled upon this church and let me tell you the experience wasn't very good - reason being the guy at the front desk was having a small talk with me about the day, life experiences etc. in return I asked him if they conduct any regular mass especially around Christmas time. For some odd reason the word "mass" triggered him and he became very angry at me and you could tell by the way his body language and his tone changed towards me. He immediately retorted and said it's not a "mass" we call it service (you better get that right). Being an ex-catholic I thought the word is not a huge deal and he shouldn't have reacted so angrily? I know I might have been ignorant in my choice of words but isn't it in your Bible telling people to have patience and not lose your cool over trivial issues? And yet you wonder why Christian population is dwindling across first world countries; perhaps you may need to rethink the way you treat people at your church for a start?

Today I attended the worst sermon that I have ever heard in 65 years. The Minister David Currie instead of preaching the Gospel, proceeded to give the congregation a lesson in race relations.The drivel that then followed would not have converted a single non believer who happened to attend the service. In fact a visitor would have come away with the feeling of hearing some party political broadcast. Of course then we had to sit through some claptrap about Mandela, by a man who's grasp of South African history is tenuous to say the least. A communist terrorist had suddenly been elevated to the status of a saint. Great preachers like Martin Lloyd Jones never preached politics in any of his great sermons. The result was a Church filled to capacity - not a Church with a mere scattering of believers. David Currie is a confused preacher who has forgotten how to preach the gospel.

What a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony! As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of shooting wedding ceremonies at many churches, but this one definitely stood out! Being both classic and elegant, this gives the perfect backdrop and what's more important is the lighting inside that is super soft and warm! The atmosphere inside is truly magical with high ceiling, making it the perfect spot for the exchange of vows for any soon to be married couple :) This is the one for you. I highly recommend it!

I like it here. The people are kind and the teaching is Biblically sound. It can be tempting to be very critical of a Church, especially in the times we live in, but it is more important to remember that the congregants and leadership are all humans. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that whoever believed in him could be forgiven and given a place in God's family.

Beautiful church on the corner of Russell street and Collins street. Just cab across it while walking down on Russell street. It’s free to visit and explore. Beautiful stained glass windows at the back and the side. Also have a grand pipe organ. The gentleman at the church was very humble and welcoming!

The manager was very friendly. The painted glasses inside are lovely and with stories. Recommend to have a look.

Savored the serene atmosphere sitting by myself in a quiet pew at the rear of the Church to be a most uplifting experience. The inspirational beauty of the stained glass windows that abound in this historic building make a visit worthwhile.

A must-visit monument of architectural and historical significance, I just noticed the Fifth Battalion Regiment memorial for fallen soldiers of both World Wars was neglected and there wasn’t any photos of it so I added them.

Wonderful honest people and excellent services. Rev Obrien is accepting, kind and open and quiet funny! and the church is beautiful. I was married in this church and I was homered to marry in such a beautiful place.

George Jensen and other boutique jewellery stores, coffee shops, great collection of shops. Easy to get to using public transport. Stunning architectural building, takes you back a few centuries

Believe me, it’s probably one of the most beautiful churches in Melbourne. Everyone is so friendly, they treat you like family. Facilities are also great and the place is pretty safe.

Extremely photogenic location and unlike some other city churches they don't mind you coming in for photos. They had a great artistic display during White Night Melbourne festival.

Absolutely beautiful and historical Presbyterian church set in the beautiful Collins Street. Lovely people and location to visit and retreat away from the main city precinct too.

Beautiful church with great acoustics for choral music. I really enjoyed my afternoon there.

Huge Cathedral with nice open arched columns provides a fairly unobstructed view of the pulpit and rostrum. Huge pipe organ which was not in use during the wedding we attended.

Kami dahulu datang untul mengikuti ibadah. Setelah selesai, sempat mengambil beberapa foto sambil menerangkan mengenai gereja ini ke keponakan.

Salah satu gereja di Melbourne. Bangunan tua tapi masih sangat terawat. Bangunannya terbuat dari sandstone dan limestone.

This is the oldest church of Melbourne. Queen Elizabeth II visited here twice.

Nice church but we haven't been inside. We couldn't find the entrance.
