Interesting idea with tragic execution; we paid about 100eur to literally sit in a cold pitch black basement from which we were unable to leave; the manager will take your money and shrug off your problems at this expensive restaurant. Like everyone else dining here, we were excited to try having a fine meal in the dark. I reserved a table for two for 19:15. Upon arrival the manager took our coats and seated us in a nice waiting room with a bar on the ground floor, where you wait until your table downstairs in the basement becomes available. We sat, had a drink and waited. After about 1.5 hours we were led downstairs to our table - much longer than we expected for having a reservation, but we were excited to try this out and we were not upset with this wait. Once downstairs, which is totally pitch black and at first very exciting, a waitress led us to our table and we sat down. We ordered the molecular and meat courses. After being seated we realize that it is absolutely freezing in the basement. We ask for blankets and are denied; we ask if we can get our jackets and the waitress tells us the manager had denied our request. We are now stuck in a pitch black and freezing basement. The waitress was apologetic and loaned my girlfriend her own sweater, which was very nice of her. This is where the experience begins to break down. The food was interesting, but not great. The portions were small, and pieces of fish and meat required cutting with a fork and knife, which is difficult to do when you can't see where the plate and food is. Several dishes were lukewarm or unevenly heated, probably because the place was overbooked as the manager told us later. We did have high expectations for the food considering the reviews and price point, but overall was disappointing. There was one item, an ice cream which was infused with carbon dioxide, giving you a popping sensation in your mouth as you ate it. That was neat, although it didn't warm us up any. Every 10 minutes or so, someone would push a cart full of dishes and silverware by us, which was impressively loud and completely interrupted our meal. In total darkness, it is actually a little scary. By the end of the dinner, we called it the Plate Train and were making choo choo sounds as it loudly rolled by. There was nothing we could do except try to laugh it off. After finishing our meals as quickly as reasonably possible, we were escorted back to the ground floor. The manager sat down with us to go over photos and names of the dishes we had had. We brought up some of the problems we had to him. He explained that they had accepted too many reservations tonight which is why we had to wait an hour and a half, and the heating system had an issue which is why it was so cold. I let him know that our expectations were not met and we don't have plans to come back, and asked if he'd like to do anything to keep us as a customer. He said no, not really. This is not the way I do business, but we were happy to just get home and warm up again. As one of the few places in Krakow where you spend over 50 euros per person on a meal, this restaurant and manager left us completely disappointed. Even if we were only one out of a hundred that had a bad experience here, you should remember that *if* you do have a problem, you will be stuck blind in the basement, the staff will not help you and the manager will simply take your money and show you the door, albeit with a smile. Visit at your own risk.
Rewelacja! Przeżycie godne polecenia :) Niesamowite doświadczenie. Jedzenie przepyszne, chociaż nie widząc jedzenia ciężko odganąć co się je. Polecam :)
