The staff were friendly and the people weren’t a problem it was just extremely boring. I was in there for less than 10 minutes BOTH times that I went. The first time it was free so I wasn’t bothered too much, except there was nobody there. The second time I payed $15 entry (despite there being no queue, while Birdees is $10 and the Beat is $15, both with queues going around the block, it really says something about the quality of the place, don’t charge fees for something nobody wants). The second time there were a few more people but the music was bland, nobody seemed to be having fun, the bartenders looked bored, and it was mostly an older demographic (also not really a problem, yet they weren’t playing any music from ANY era - mostly just sounds). The club seems to be struggling with its identity. Either be a dive bar and play some rock for the older folks or be a night club and play some 80s-2000s pop. Play something that made it into the top 40 at least lmao. Also, leaving is somewhat an obstacle and the first time I had to jump over a puddle of piss. I’ll reiterate that the staff were lovely though :)

Absolutely love the atmosphere of shades, The RnB music is always on point with the occasional throw in of other genres is always a fun time. Easy to dance around with lots of space and good company. I love that the multiple levels both have Bars so always easy to get a drink. The easy to find smokers area is a bonus. The staff are always super lovely and fun, they always seem to be in a good mood and high energy! 10/10 love shades it’s my fav club !

There was a fight at the club. And one of my friends who wasn’t even involved in the fight and actually left shades wayyyy before the fight even started got a ban on his ID. All because the fight was started by black peuple and they just wrongfully banned his ID just because he’s also black and they didn’t properly investigate who was the actual culprit was. Absolute discrimination and racism. Extremely disappointing.

Disgustingly rude management, went out of there way to harass my friend and wish her ill. Management told her they hope she can't have children and that her wedding day can't go ahead by including numerous scenarios of how they hoped it would be ruined. A bunch of bogans who don't know how to conduct a business and result to insults and threats to get a point across.

Opening straight after a lockdown and when mask wearing is encouraged is the way these guys like to go. They also like to abuse customers over Instagram. I mean, speaks for itself. Probably don't go here if you wanna have a good time because you definitely won't Have screenshots of them saying they hope my wedding gets cancelled again.

Good vibes! Great place to go to on a night out. Two levels, designed nicely with great details. Friendly staff that make delicious cocktails. This club has an outdoors smoking area. Affordable prices and great music! Always good vibes when I visit Shades Nightclub.

Had an amazing time, music was pretty good. The owner was such a nice bloke. The bartender were very friendly, and had great service. Would definitely recommend going on a night out, plus the drinks were really cheap.

Really friendly staff, even friendlyer patrons, was a really different experience but a really wonderful one, great beats to dance to, all inclusive vibes on the dance floor everyone just doing there thing.
