Edit*** Animal control attended weeks after my dog was attacked, unprovoked. The people that run the campground witnessed the attack and lied to animal control stating my dog was on the other owners property. Many of the permanent residents in this campground also lied and stated the same thing. Animal control's investigation ended as they believe my dog was provoking the other dog. The dog and owner got away with not even a warning. That dog is vicious and will attack again**** I stayed at Shakers Acres while evacuated from wild fires in my province. I thought Shakers Acres would be a perfect place to stay during the evacuation, boy was I wrong. I would not stay at this campground again for the following reasons. 1- The power goes out as many as 15 times per day and night. I normally do not care about this, but I had to work on my laptop and needed to have power. 2- My dog was attacked twice by dogs that reside in the campground with their owners. The second attack ended up with my dog requiring a 2 hour surgery and a very hefty vet bill. Which of course the owner did not pay. I did call animal control and they said they would attend. The dog attacked my dog and would not let go until the owner punched, and kicked his dog multiple times. That was as hard to watch as his dog attacking mine. That is the type of people that live at the campground. The campground caretaker did not evict the vicous dog or its owners and the caretaker witnessed the entire attack. I was walking my dog on the road in the campground and he was on leash at all times and didnt bother anyone. So, if you have pets or small children please be careful at this campground. 3- This campground has been turned into a space for permanent stay rvs. Many of the people that live here are shady to say the least. I received threats daily from the vicous dog owner ,after their dog attacked my dog, and from another troubled individual that kept saying I took things from his trailer, which I most certainly did not. 4- Garbage is laying around and is not picked up. Many of the resident campers yards are completely disgusting with litter and garbage and household items laying around. 5- They advertise free wifi, but it only works if you are the office. As soon as you walk away, no more wifi. 6- I was told due to all of the above that they would make an exception to their no refund rule. And after 3 weeks of asking I have finally given up. It appears what I was told was lies. I stayed at this campground for 3 weeks and it was 3 weeks too long. I would not recommend this campground to anyone and I would never stay there again. The place is very run down and dirty. They need to upgrade their electrical service as it's beyond ridiculous that the power goes out as often as it does. Many of the resident campers are sketchy and display unpredictable behavior. They knew I was an evacuee and I paid for two weeks that I did not use. They offered a credit, no thanks. My dog and I had to deal with one brutal attack. He ended up with many stitches in his head as a result of the brutal dog attack. Just beware before you stay here.

Grossly Terrible Please Read Review! Brutal! was there just last night. I was visiting the bride and groom on there second night married. To say the least there was about 10 of us and very respectful low key discussions, good food and no music. There was the grooms brothers that did not know the gate closed at 11pm. The lady at the office let them out the gate at 12 am. The next thing that happened WOW. She came to the site and said she did not appriciate being woke up at least 4 -5 times and super nasty. She said I want you out! 11 am is check out. She also said this 4-5 times. They had paid for two nights and she would not refund the money. I thought she was either going to cry or have a complete melt down. Absolutely unreal. The season is so short and she ruined and wonderful evening. The kind of evening you look forward too all year. BTW I have an 11 year old dog that was on the leash sleeping beside my chair and she said that my dog was not even allowed to be there. Wow camping with out your pets wow. The campground is ok not top of the line but ok. However the majority of the reviews are bang on the money. This campground has out standingly bad service. If the campground would be rated at 1 for asteics the service would drop it to -10 star. We were more than sorry about the car be locked behind the gate and a civil coversation would have been fine to resolve the matter. I would highly recommend that should you be considering this campground. Please rethink it! I'm sure you don't need a temper tantrum when you have options.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. I made reservations ahead of time for 2 nights. When asked on the phone what year my RV was, I told her it was a '93. Didn't seem to care about that on the phone. I went by the recommendation of the dog friendly website. She took one look at our camper when we pulled in and I said we have reservations for two nights. "How old is your rig?" Was my greating. As soon as o told her, she made a face and said they don't take any older than 10 years old. Who does this?! We used to have a restored late model '70's Apache pop up camper. I'm sure she would've really blown a gasket then! I mentioned to her that I said it was a '93 on the phone. She shook her head no at me and told me I didn't because if I had, she would've flat told me no. I said again that I told her on the phone and we have no place else to go. She said she would go ahead and let us stay, but with a kind of offish attitude and I told her again that I guess we'll go somewhere else then because I told you on the phone. She said, yep! You can go somewhere else because I'm not going to tale this from anyone. I wasn't doing anything but telling her the truth. Go down the road to Glowing Embers where the customer service is real and 1000% better. Even though we are in the back 40 of the RV park and no trees, I'd take it over Shakers any day. I'll also be contacting the dog friendly site as well and let them know this place isn't even human friendly.

We have decided to make this campground home for an indefinite time. We had the choice of several all year round campgrounds. Although the price is a few dollars more a month, this is why I feel it is worth it: 1. They have the most clean, tidy, well maintained park in the Edmonton area with up to date everything! 2. They are dog friendly with a HUGE park alongside to accommodate my pups! I found other parks to be a little more jaded towards one of my pups but this park has no discrimination. 3. The lots are large in size, even ground, nice pads and easy to maneuver a large unit! 4. The staff: as the RV LIVING vs. our usual remote casual camping, I have had lots of questions, concerns and each and every time, they are accommodating and helpful. 5. The rules are welcomed. We have attempted to stay seasonal at other parks in the past (hence why we ended up doing remote camping instead) and paid much more, only to be disturbed through party goers, fighting dogs (and I love my dogs) and owners that tell us that this is how it goes...NOT I want my stay to be relaxing and enjoyable; follow the rules and all is great! Rules are appreciated... And the new owners is bringing lot of changes and in future we can see major updates.

I wrote a review, gave them the benefit of the doubt and deleted it, but alas here it is again. This is not a legitimate business, I’m sorry but it’s not. This is a place for druggies to set up shop. They don’t have a working phone number, they cannot take reservations, they only finally responded after 2 weeks because I wrote a nasty and accurate review of their business. Then we try to book and no working phone again . It’s a joke. Judging by past reviews, this business was owned by owners who were incredibly strict - then it was purchased by new owners, one named Abhi (or he’s the manager ). They are incapable of replying to emails, after weeks of no reply. Yes it’s about 300 cheaper than anywhere else but a major risk both liability for your trailer, vehicles and clearly dog owners are not responsible at this park (see below). I’d rather pay 300 elsewhere and save on a giant vet bill. Overall, there are much safer parks we’ve checked out for a mere 200+ more a month and it’s SAFE, CLEAN, RELIABLE services. Do not waste your time here if you’re a good working human, who just wants a safe place to stay. However if you’re in the market for m3th, this might be for you.

If any of you have vehicles or trailers at Little Acres RV Storage go check in on it. If you plan on using them, DONT. Last Thursday an incident happened where a diesel truck had its back window smashed out, the thieves even had time to put a battery in it, hook up to another trailer and drive away. Nobody was notified. Well that truck was my moms and she just received a call from the airdrie impound that her truck was stolen and is sitting there. We are assuming they smashed the back window because it has our company logo on it. When my mom called Little Acres, they were dismissive claiming they knew about the incident but have over 300 spots there and weren’t reaching out to everyone about it. I’m at a loss for words right now, at least with the old owners, everyone was notified when there was hail warnings to go protect their belongings, this new management clearly does not care if people’s possessions go missing!!

  • Jeremy Brochu

This place went under new ownership recently and all the “concentration camp” comments with the photos of those crazy absurd rules are from the previous owners who were extremely strict white people. The new owners use the same pamphlets from previous owners but I can assure you half of those rules no longer apply. Me and my neighbours have fires before 7pm. On the weekends people are out drinking by their fires till 1am-3am. I feel bad for the new owners as they are actually really cool Indian guys who are very easy going and are not as NEARLY AS CLOSE to strict as all these reviews state. The old owners wouldn’t let you stay here if your trailer was older than FIVE years old. New owners are way more relaxed.. I stay here in my 1994 Golden Falcon no issues what so ever.

  • Cynthia Merriman

Booked here in January as part of our family road trip, simply because of proximity in Edmonton. We were given a site number and when we pulled up, it was already occupied. Given a second site, and it was barely enough room for our unit and left us unable to use our stairs/close the door due to the slope/sinking. Third spot offered was just 15amp and wouldn’t work for our trailer. Fourth spot was actually decent, thank goodness. The middle part of the park is full of ‘live in’ units and very unkept, an eyesore. The washroom and shower facilities were dirty, paint peeling off the ceiling, just very disappointing. The dumpster had piles of garbage outside of it and wasn’t picked up for a while. Will NOT be returning to Shakers Acres.

  • Mat Trapani

I have a 89 Fleetwood rv .. I was told I wasn't allowed to go there because they won't take anything older than 1995 , well then so I'm supposed to toss out a beautiful perfect, fully upgraded and old rv because they and a lot have standards of what they want to see in the park . and as you pull up its like the song (sign's) they are everywhere telling you how much you can't do .. You can blatantly read their a money grab .. Bad looking place to begin with .. Not a good place side from a gentleman I talked to staying there at the time .. Not a place to give hard earned money.

  • jim patterson

We only stayed here because it was the closest campground to Jasper with availability. The road to the campground off the highway is absolutely horrible! We had to drive 10km hr just to keep our RV from shaking apart. No potable water, no power sites, but that isn't a big deal. Washrooms aren't the greatest. Men's washroom was completely out of toilet paper. Found that out the hard way. Only gave it an extra star because it's fairly quiet. We found a nice RV campground just a few km west on the main highway but didn't know about it because they are not listed on Google maps.

  • Chris lajeunesse

Read a bunch of reviews sounded pretty reasonable called up made a reservation arrived at shakers felt very dirty when I got there looked around it was well kept but it just felt gross there's no trees you're just on top of each other it looks like it's straight out of the 70s when inside no bathroom for anybody to use ask the lady about Campground she was alright said no you know what I changed my mind I'm going to cancel got the dirtiest air I've ever gotten from a person it was so bad I felt like I needed to have a shower and go for counseling

  • Michelle Hand

This place was amazing. So green and pretty. Our first day there, our pop up camper wouldn't lift up, and a man from the office spent about an hour voluntarily helping us fix it. We could hardly believe it. If not for him I don't know what we would have done. We've had trouble with it before and often couldn't even get professionals to fit us in to fix our camper while we were in a place. So the office staff are definitely friendly and helpful, above and beyond. We'd stay at this campground again in a heartbeat.

  • Ashlyn Sharpe

I only tried to make a reservation and that was enough to make me want to take my money elsewhere... The lady who answered was very rude and made me feel I was wasting her time because I have an RV over 10 years old, HOWEVER my "old piece of junk" is actually a beautifully restored vintage Foretravel that could rival most new RV's in it's class. I fail to see how sticking to such a strict 10 year policy is good for business, at least consider changing your rules to an individual case-by-case basis.

  • Thomas Drewermann

We arrived today and were really nice welcome. Patti recommened a great restaurant to order food from. The campground is really good structed. The owner patti is very kindly with her little dog ginger. Showers and Toilettes were absolutely clean. All basins were recently renwed so the toilets. The wifi internet access is great and the fastest I have seen in the last 4 days. I'd recommend everyone to have a stay at Shakers Acres RV Park. It is a really clean, nice and kind place overall.

  • Melvin L. Mugoy-Chafe (Andy)

Im not sure if the owner knows the activities of campers on this campground. Bit shady, on our last night shady activities going on to our neigboring campers. People in and out the trailer, the woman left and got back with a bag. Rstless indiciduals due to our presence i think. Prior to that, first 3 nights cops driving around campground at 11pm. Then, someones car got stolen! (According to the owner) Too shady! Not coming back nor recommend this campground to anyone! Too dangerous.

  • Mark Fangrad

Office staff were very friendly. Offering 30 and 50 amp service with PWS; also a separate pay dumping station. Most sites have no trees and most sites are pull-through. . Sites are not leveled too well so it takes a bit to settle in. Excellent Laundromat with very large folding table, coin operated. Public bathrooms with free showers. Children's playground. Free Wi-Fi but somewhat unreliable during my stay. Overall fairly satisfied. Very close to West Edmonton Mall - 10 minutes.

  • Leah Cook

Decent place if you only need a place to park your RV. Pictures on website could use some updating. Very few trees, aside from the outer edge. The full hook up was great, but sites were so close that the sewage connection was virtually in your neighbours yard. Again, no real complaints as we were only there to sleep. We were treated well, owners were responsive to concerns, and easy access to West Edmonton.

Stayed here most of the summer and fall of 2022 the owner Rick is a pretty helpful and knowledgeable guy about rvs, quiet and close to Edmonton. Most of the lower star reviews seem to come from the babies that need full hookups and 5 star service to enjoy themselves camping. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, quiet campground with amenities, this is your place. Stayed here almost 2 months off and on and would definitely recommend.

  • Gaylin Swibold

We made reservations at this RV Park. We showed up on the Thursday before Canada Day (observed on Monday), and they told us that we had to pay for 3 nights even though we were only staying Thursday and Friday nights. The person at the desk was quite rude, and the park was not at all visually appealing. We left and went to Glowing Embers a few km down the road, the park is much nicer and so is the service.

  • Bob Orr

If you like camping in a field with an owner that is angry at the world and bathroom facilities that are filthy and half of them don't work then this is the spot for you. And you get to overpay to boot. I wish I could give it a 0 star rating. I would not recommend anyone staying here even if it was free and they were giving away free beer this place should be condemned and the land made to good use

  • Linda Bella

Had a reunion here a few years ago and all was wonderful. This weekend, we needed to access the internet for real estate and couldn’t access their wifi. Front desk person told us to come to the office and she would show us how to log on, like we didn’t really know anything. She set us up. We went back to space 30 and, guess what, we couldn’t access their wifi. Not as friendly and helpful as before.

  • Steve Clelland

I had friends coming in from out of town and they have a refurbished trailer (really nicely renovated) but weren't allowed to stay here because the number one rule states how new your trailer must be. What the heck? When did camping become about elitist attitudes? I won't ever stay here and support those ideals. There's a lot more that's shaky about this place than the acres. Shame on you.

  • K W

This RV facility is not necessarily family friendly for vacation RVing. If you need a stop over this is it but I certainly wouldn’t consider this a place to go stay as it is mostly a facility for people who are contract working and need a place to park their RV for a period of time . Very disappointing .

I had ZERO problems at this RV park. Fire pits are available for a reasonable fee with your first bag of wood included. It is a short 10 minutes drive from WEM located just off highway 16A. The showers are free and very hot. The garbages are emptied daily and grounds kept clean. Have a positive attitude when discussing a concern and you'll have a wonderful stay!

  • JC Brower

Thankful they took us in after closing hours, the male owner was wonderful in accomodating us and giving us a fair price. Nice and quiet place. I will recommend my family or friends who are driving through Edmonton to use this place to park their RV for the night. A+++ service. Shakers Acres is the place for rest and relaxation after a long day of driving.

  • Troy Collins

Great location for visiting the West Edmonton Mall. We stayed in the pull throughs at the back of the property overlooking a farmers field. Large site, good wifi. Showers were clean and free. Friendly, helpful staff. We left our water pressure regulator on the pole and the staff mailed it back to use. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Zachary Pan

Stayed there one night. The RV camp site is small , old and run down in appearance. Most campers are seasonal and travel campers seemed not belong there. You can not have camp fire there unless you buy firewood with high price from there. It also has a lot of camp rules which seem redundant and discouraging. Do not recommend it.

  • Brandon

Is this Canada or North Korea? If you plan on staying at this concentration camp be prepared to follow some wacky rules. And don't even think of charging your devices because you're going straight to jail...they don't play that mess! You'd be better off camping in the woods behind Walmart then this place run by communist.

  • Nick Guthrie

Customer service was good. Washrooms however were dirty and in need of repair. The showers were either hot enough to scald or cold but no in between. Camp sites were ok but tightly fit. Office closed at six pm also.... Hope this helps with an informed decision. Overall experience was ok but not going back to that one.

  • ray guinan

Nice location for doing things in and around Edmonton. We had a pull-through site. It was full-service with 30 amp p/w/s. Public bathrooms were clean and had clean showers available. There was a small playground which was good for young kids. I recommend if you're looking for someone to stay while busy in Edmonton.

  • Jackie White

Don't ever even consider staying here. It is dirty, overgrown, permanent residence for trashy people. Also, high crime area with homeless in the area. I wish we had known before coming here. We were supposed to be here 3 nights but only stayed 2. Don't ask for your money back either because it won't happen.

  • cindi mapplebeck

Booked a spot and had them charge my card. Then we canceled after we found out that it is just rows of rvs and very little space, and very crowded. Got told there was a cancelation fee if $15.00 , I agreed and it is 3 days later and still have not got my refund. Don't trust them with your information.

  • Peggy Warren

We stayed last year. I thought I had reviewed but I hadn't. Dont stay here. Stay anywhere else. We had our bank information stolen there and had money taken from our account. Nothing says welcome to Canada than that.

Kind of a little disappointing in that most back-in sites seem to be quite open with not much shade or shelter. I guess this would not be much problem if you are spending most of your time in the city and not at the campsite. But that is just my opinion.... you can judge for yourself.

  • Julie CONNORS

As a visitor I need to check in and it was a great experience. The guy who helped me out was friendly and was able to direct me where I needed no problem. You are given a map of the site, even though it isn't that big. Clean sites and something you wouldn't expect in the city.

  • Roger Stuparyk

My son is staying there for a little while. He said everyone is very nice to him. The yards are clean and the grass is cut. It's quiet there too . Which makes it a nice place to camp . Nice and close to the city if you need to run around or do errands. Keep up the good work .

  • amanda costin

This rv park is older. I gave it three stars due to the bathrooms being rather disgusting. Very old hole in the shower stall cobwebs all over. The staff was friendly. Little park for kids. Paid 39$ for the night. Good for one night. This is just my experience Cheers

  • Mary Ann McIntosh

Awful, dirty washrooms, showers, garbage all over the park overflowing. And to top it off our black tank hose & container was stolen from our trailer. Also, plugs for our truck racks taken out & thrown, we found 1. Just don’t , they don’t bother to clean.

  • lee nason

Well spent a few weeks there. first showers are no cost.,there is a out side large sinks to wash dishes, clean camp site always like a pre-soaker tub in laundry room ,lay the law done if people thing it a party spot. Quiet place even for the time there.

  • G M

In time when so many of Edmonton retailers caring less about local use the American owned ice company Arctic, Shakers Acres bucks the trend by helping create jobs in Alberta by supporting Columbia Ice, the local ice company. This should be applauded!!!

  • laura g

Very old runned down campground. The brochure/ web page makes it sound so nice. The price is higher then other places that are way nicer by far. Lots of people living in old campers. Would definitely not recommend and won't be back! Unimpressed.

  • kent button

850 a month to park a 17 ft trailer in the summer winter $850 a month plus utilities does it pay to have a RV if you have to pay the same rent to do in your house so you have to pay for your house and your RV parking spot for 850

  • Cindy Bare

Arrived after some wet days so dirt/gravel roads were pitted with large and small puddles. Some really nice sites and some not so much so be careful. Very friendly and helpful staff and residents. Needs a little neatening up.

  • tyler hogan

The old guy that runs this place is awesome, very helpful and quite nice to talk to. My only issue was the location. We were camping in a tent, and could not get out of the wind. It's a campsite in the middle of the field.

  • Susanna Lee

RV park is very close to West Edmonton Mall Easy access, full hook ups Clean A fair amount of space between units!! Staff was very friendly and accommidating. Have stayed here during 2 separate holidays and will be back!!

  • Brian

Cant really give an honest review of the place, I didnt stay there simply because they dont return messages left on their answering service. Two messages left and no return. Going by other reviews probably a good thing!

  • Doug Mason

Older rv park with FHU. Small sites not necessarily level. Large potholes in access roads within park. Large laundry facilities. Stayed 3 nights. Locatedbon west side of Edmonton - close to West Edm Mall.

  • adam Overby

If this doesn't deter you than you are not allowed to leave a bad review. You've been warned! What else do you need to know about the mentality of the owners/managers/staff..... ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!!!

  • Caryl Lamothe

Great park, but a little crowded... great location to go and do things in Edmonton. Centrally located and easy to access attractions like the west Edmonton mall, fort Edmonton park and museums.

  • Russell Walsh

We just stayed 4 nights at Shakers. We found the location to be prime. We found the park clean and well groomed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definately stay there again.

  • Riley McGlynn

Friendly staff, clean park, nice lots, easy to pull in and out of. Not too far from the city center, right off the highway and easy to find. All services available and not very expensive.

  • Wayne Fournier

I lived there for 4years and it was the worst 4 years I had a Crack head living behind me and 3 other guys I will just call the three stooges and they let some strange people stay there

  • Adam Gordey

Laundry, showers, wifi, 30amp and sewage services at all spots.. small playground for younger ones.. close to walmart restaurants and couple bars.. west end of city just off Winterburn

  • Peggy Warren

Best not to use the free wifi there. Someone hacked into my bank account there and stole money from us while staying there. Nothing says welcome to Edmonton like a thief.

  • Sandi Funk

In terms of a city rv park this is quiet, close to west ed mall, have full hook ups with grassy sites. It's not fancy but it was easy to book and served our needs well.

  • Sharon

Location was great to WEM. Pull through sites are extremely narrow on the west side. Rather “tired” property but checkin staff was pleasant & grass did get cut

  • Amanda Steele

The people that run this place are the worst kind of Karen's. They have bonkers rules that seem kind of illegal and also unsafe. A miserable place to camp.

  • Ridin’ Dirty Outdoors

Terribly ran, if you have kids you can’t even have a beer. No talking after 10pm….I guess it’s cool if you’re a senior citizen and have no life.

  • Farouk

We recently visited to purchase a truck and the owner was super Friendly honest man and he is straight forward guy It was a pleasant experience

  • Humming Bird

Okay staff, overall not a terrible staff very out dated. Bathrooms are in need of renovation, feeling cold drafts when taking showers.

  • Rawton Styles

It's a decent place I haven't stayed there myself but I have used it facilities like laundry and showers Wich are the best around here

  • Carla Garrett

NOT HAPPY WITH THE LACK OF ELECTRICITY OR THE IGNORANT LAUGH WE GOT WHEN WE TOLD HER ABOUT IT AFTER A FREEZING COLD NIGHT.

  • Mat dumpling

Dirty and noise, bad service lady was so rude i never seen that before from start to end,not recommended

  • Garry Nilson

Not a bad place. The only thing I didn't like, was having to buy their firewood at a ridiculous price.

  • Peter Pankratz

Really nice place to stay, the play park is quite old, otherwise really close to the city of Edmonton

Dated, but decent price, good old fashioned playground, and hospitable hosts. Not for glampers.
