This is a good ol’ “pub and restaurant” style of business. The food served is made by order. Like most pub and restaurant businesses, the bar seems to be the main focus because it draws in more $$. The food is good, but it takes quite a while to make. I think it could take shorter even with the made to order system accounted for. The service is also a tad bit slow and less professionally hospitable/friendly than it could be. The location is stellar. The restrooms are less than impressive (to understate). See pics. Do not plan on long rests in the restrooms here (let the reader understand). A long rest would be mighty uncomfortable, but a short rest (dash in and dash out) should be okay...ish, unless you’re drunk. Recommended dishes: 1) junk food: the chicken and chips are a tasty option—my favourite junk at Shans—and the price is reasonable (UGX 15k). 2) local dish: the wet fry fish with Matoke (cooked bananas) and rice is satisfactory. It’s a little bit overpriced imo in spite of the fact that it’s a huge serving of a whole fish several banana fingers and a good portion of rice. Even a big appetite will struggle to wipe the tray size plate clean. Cost? UGX 50k. I generally recommend Shans (sic) Bar and Restaurant the aforementioned cautions notwithstanding.

Awful establishment. I got off a boda next to this bar and went in to ask to change a 10k note, so that I could pay my boda. The manager gave me 5k and said that he would give me 5k later. I waited. But instead of looking for money, he went to chat to his employees. I spent about 5 minutes waiting for him. I had to go in and address him again, asking to give me my 5k. Awful customer service! If it's like that from the doorstep, what is it like to be a customer there? Never would I eat/drink at such an awful establishment. Lastly, the music was very loud, I couldn't even hear the employees properly.

Very terrible bar &.”restaurant”. The place is ugly, the food bad, the employees are so bad THE MUSIC IS SO LOCAL AND TOO LOUD. Wouldn’t even rate it but I had to let the world know! So bad. Go somewhere else please
