Foods good; the lady's working are always nice. But I have to say, I will not be going back. They always run out of kolaches, so this time, I called ahead as recommend. Place my order with the guy on the phone. Pull up 10 min later and the boy working the window dosent seem to comprehend sentences. Then tells me all they have are two of what I wanted when less than ten minutes ago: the guy on the phone promised me they had them and had my order. Luckily, the lady (hopefully his trainer) over heard my disdain (I asked to speak with someone else, again, the boy looked at me as if I was speaking feakin German) and said that she was sorry for the confusion, and they had my order. Awesome, right? Wrong. I get home and instead of my 4 like I asked for. They gave me the wrong ones. Are you freaking kidding me? This is the last time I get disappointed by this Shipley's. Highly recommend driving the farther distance to a different one.

Over the last 12 years, I've always enjoyed a dozen hot doughnuts on Saturdays with my family. For a business to survive, such a business must pay attention to how customer service is offered to each customer. In addition to enhancing customer service, a company must find ways to do better than its competitor. In my view, Shiley Donut at Wilderness Oak still has not that perfected that ability. While on the other hand, Crispy Cream on 1604 has perfected the act of drawing more customers through its delivery of hot doughnuts to every given customer. To conclude, Shipley Donuts has two major tasks to accomplish. One, improve his customer service and two, find a way to deliver hot donuts to each customer just like the crispy cream donuts on 1604 does. Unless those two ideas are developed, I think it's only a matter of time before Shiply Donut goes bankrupt.

Edited: I grew up going to the original location . The Shipley's locations in San Antonio have done a pretty good job. However I do have one gripe or complaint. Unfortunately out of all the donuts I don't buy, I do not buy Apple fritters from them anymore, or Boston cream. For that, I go down the street to a chain competitor. The reason is consistency and quality. I don't like eating Apple fritters that are a cinnamon twist filled with apple pie filling. Fritters are in fact what the name says, a fritter. Meaning fried and somewhat crunchy. Update: Thank you for making a fritter the way it is supposed to be! This was absolutely delicious as it implies. No more gooey apple pie filling ball of dough. You keep making them like this, and I will keep buying them! Thank you.

Honesty is the best policy. While I personally do not eat donuts (gluten intolerant), I do not like being short changed. The bill was $37.48 and I recieved $1.50 in change for a payment of $40.00. I tipped an additional $2, that I had, not realizing at the moment that I had been robbed. Yes, that is how I felt, and it is not a good feeling. Whether they have completely incompetent people that have no "mathsense", may be the case. I realize that these are just feelings and if I chalk them up to incompetence versus outright theft, then it makes me feel better.

They weren't bad but they weren't good either. We ordered 6 different kinds to try all of our favorites. The devils food and Bavarian cream tasted good. The raspberry filling, and cherry glazed taste super artificial. All in all I think the donuts are pretty small for $1.25. You might as well get store bought donuts for 80 cents each of which HEB has a glazed donut croissant that's double the size and great. We ordered 1 hour before they closed so I will give it another shot and get some in the morning to see if they taste fresher/better.

Employees are EXTREMELY LAZY!! If you ask for hot donuts from the back area they grumble because they have to walk back there.... the young hispanic male working the counter is sooooo lazy he wouldn't even bag up my large order, dropped the bag next to my order and I had to do it myself. And when i made a comment regarding the situation they got offended as if I was asking for them to carry my order out to my car or something. People these days are incompetent and lazy; period! Will be taking my business elsewhere for good.

BUYER BEWARE! The young brunette female rang me up this morning in drive thru. I've been awake for 3hours now, so this isn't a sleepy donut run. She has the machine setup to tip herself about 70% of your order's total as the1st button on the left instead of 10%. You feel compelled to tip and then they are "scamming" people. Normally set up 10%, 20% other or no tip in that order. When I asked her, she was hesitant and then said it's always like that. YOU'RE A LIAR AND THIEF to the Shipley Customers!

I came here on a Wednesday at 5:00pm and there was only one employee. I wanted a regular cup of coffee and she said they were out of coffee. And I said How can you be out of coffee? She replied it's 5:00 and we close in an hour. I didn't know this store stops making coffee after breakfast. The employee tried to make me look weird for ordering coffee. I work 12 hour shifts I just wanted a regular cup of coffee I can't believe she told me that.

First visit here. No old fashion donuts?? Those are my go to, so I was disappointed about that. Went through the drive through window and ordered a donut with sprinkles for my daughter. There were like 3 sprinkles on the donut, and the two donuts we ordered fused together so everything kind of melted off. What a mess. The taste was okay, but unlikely I’ll be rushing back here. Not super friendly workers, either.

It was a very sad day the last time I went to Shipley. I was drooling over the thought of having one of Shipley's apple fritters, but when I got to the drive thru window there was none left. It was not going to be a good day for me, so I bought 3 cinnamon twists and 3 cinnamon rolls to over come my disappointment! And it worked ! …

Donuts are small, and all taste identical....except the lemon filled, those were tart and tasty...but small like the others. It was my first time visiting, and most likely the last. The person behind the counter seemed upset that she had to put donuts in a box, not a reaction I expected...like I was a bother !

Meh, 2 dozen mixed donuts & 2 dozen sausage kolaches. The mixed donuts are literally all the same donut with different frosting, no cakes, no fritters, no long John's, no real variety. The kolaches might have well contained a Lil smokey. Where do you even buy such an insubstantial hot dog? More

I just ate the best apple fritter of my whole life today. So crispy on the outside, so moist on the inside, perfect glazing that didn't flake off and was just the right thickness. So. Freaking. Good. This place is always on point - I drive out of my way to get donuts here. Highly recommend.

We loved this place. We would go regularly and the staff was just the best to us. The donuts are unlike anywhere else, way better than Dunkin. 5 stars alone goes to the staff. We're sad we can't come back here since we moved. But all my best wishes to the people working here.

  • maria mantilla

The coffee in this place is horrible taste like water with coffee flavor. We got donuts an colaches an while were waiting for the coffee. A men that works there was just sitting behind the counter picking his nouse and then scratching his hair. It was so discussing!

  • Dai Gonzalez

Very nice but how do you run out of glazed donuts at 7:45am and tell me it's going to be 10-20 min when Leon Valley can make fresh ones way faster? Were they hoping I'd want something else? Didn't even offer a drink! They are lucky these are the only donuts I like!

  • CG C

I mean I love the service here, sometimes I open with them at 5:00 AM and they let me in early so can get on time to work. I bring fresh donuts to my team. Thank you guys!Customer service is great, friendly and even in the morning they are smiling!

  • Boglwe

Not the best Shipley ever. Certainly not the worst. However, if I was a franchise owner I would want to know that one of my franchises was sub-par. Very little icing, and cake donuts are super small for same price as other Shipley. Staff are nice

  • G.O. Laun

It's donuts and Texas Kolaches of various sorts. Always good to bring in to work to raise your co-worker's esteem (or buy a few for yourself) and to call attention to the plight of donut farmers around the world, thanks to Big Donut and

6am Saturday: terribly poor selection…donuts and filled items not made. Staff was not helpful nor courteous. Looking for another neighborhood donut place.. Hurry DD and finish the store build. This has happened at this store frequently!!

  • Starre Parker

This location is so slow. I went to this one instead of the one on Redland (the one I usually go to) because it's closer, but with how slow the service was the Redland one would have been faster. I had 2 different people help me in the

A “real” doughnut shop! I forgot what fresh doughnuts tasted like! They also have colaches. I like the jalapeño, cheese and sausage ones. Lots of different options available. This will be our new doughnut spot for sure!

  • Aaliyah Garza

Fast service however the woman in the drive thru tried to scam us charging us more than what we ordered. When confronted about it we were met with passive aggressive behavior. Very unprofessional.

  • Alexey Garcia Rybachok

Best donuts in Texas for sure. There is more then 20 different types of donuts you can chose from. The cashers are nice and might give you some extra donut holes if you go there allot.

  • Thomas Weaver

Shipleys, you do a good job on the donuts. Kolache’s, however, are not good. Basically white bread filled with sugar and a tiny bit of cheese and/or sausage. Not impressed at all.

  • AG Silva

My kids love the sausage and cheese kolaches. These are a staple at our house. Other favorites are the donut holes, maple iced donuts, regular iced, and the cinnamon roll.

  • Perla

Love the customer service I received. Always very attentive and respectful, which is not very common these days. The donuts are great, loving the classic glazed donuts.

  • Grace Cage

***MILUTARY DISCOUNT*** The kolaches were warm, soft and delicious! The bathrooms, dining area and work area is nice and clean! It was a great eating experience

  • Kimberly M.

Definitely better than DD, just wish Shipley's donuts didn't taste like they've been sitting out for a day or two. Still looking for the perfect donut in SA.

  • vanessa V

Best place for donuts! The customer service is so good and the donuts are tasty and delicious! The manager is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.

  • S Smith

My favorite donut spot! The best cinnamon twists and cake donuts and cinnamon rolls, and glazed donuts, and DONUTS, THE DONUTS ARE JUST GREAT! lol

  • roger sepulveda

Love that I can get a fresh cake donut here & they have good selection of donuts. Also have to try their Apple frider-enough for two!

  • Se-Woong Park

Best donuts. Krispy Kreme can't beat Shipley! White coconut, blueberry filled, lemon filled, and cinnamon twist are my favorite.

  • Michelle Pooser

Every time I go in the heavy set girl is rude and never wears her mast correctly. Not sure why she even wears one.

  • Austin Riley

We LOVE Shipley’s and this location in particular. The family that runs this business are great great people.

  • Hector De la Fuente

Great place, delicious donuts, they even make a special filled bar for me.

  • Grego D

They always have a wide variety of fresh baked doughnuts and kolaches!

  • Marie Prevot

Fresh and less expensive and less greasy than the high end brand.

  • Marcy Bridges

The staff is always friendly and there's never a wait.
