I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident that occurred at your pharmacy on July 7th at 7:36 pm. My daughter experienced a medical emergency, and I faxed her prescription to your pharmacy, as I had done many times in the past. However, the treatment we received during this visit was profoundly disappointing and concerning, warranting immediate attention and action. Upon my arrival at the pharmacy, I noticed only one pharmacist behind the back counter. I waited for approximately 2 minutes before the pharmacist came to the counter. However, when I requested help, the pharmacist's response was disheartening. He outright denied receiving any prescription, despite my insistence that I had indeed faxed it. This exchange persisted with him claiming to have contacted the urgent care and that they had stated they had not faxed a prescription. I attempted to clarify that the prescription was sent from my workplace, not the urgent care facility, but my explanations were met with dismissive responses. The situation escalated when the pharmacist displayed unprofessional behavior. He raised his hand in a dismissive manner, stated that he would not assist me, and asked me to leave. I found this treatment to be not only unhelpful but also highly disrespectful. Moreover, when I tried to share that I had the original prescription with me, he disregarded my statement and continued to demand that I leave the pharmacy. My request to speak to the manager was met with a refusal, and he even declined to provide his name, making it impossible for me to address his conduct formally. Feeling upset and frustrated by the situation, I sought help from another employee in the cosmetic area. This employee was more willing to listen and offered to address the issue with the pharmacist. However, due to the urgency of my daughter's medical condition, and noting that it was 7:42 pm I had to leave, and I went to Co-op pharmacy to have the prescription filled. Thankfully, Co-op pharmacy, even though they closed at 8:00 pm provided prompt and empathetic service, ensuring my daughter received the necessary medication, just before their closing time. The lack of empathy and professionalism displayed during this incident was deeply distressing, especially given the urgency of my daughter's medical condition. It is crucial for healthcare professionals to handle interactions with patients and their families with care, respect, and understanding. Such unprofessional behaviour can have severe repercussions for the patient's well-being and undermines the trust that customers place in your pharmacy. I am only giving a star because this is the only way to post.
Had really bad experience with their pharmacist. I received an email regarding to the flu shot this morning. I was asked to fill in the consent form online in order to get the flu shot. However, when I arrived the store, the pharmacist told me the online consent form didn't work because their system is too old. Therefore I had to fill in the form again in store with my 8 months old baby crying beside me. After I finish the form I was waiting at the counter for more than 10 minutes and there was nobody coming to me. When the pharmacist finally came, there were two folks submitting their consent forms at the same time as me. She directly took their forms and ignored mine and gave them the flu shots earlier than me. I had to wait for another 15 min to get my flu shot because they skipped the line. I complained to her and asked why she took their forms instead of mine even though I came in earlier and finished my form earlier than them. She admitted that she saw me standing by the counter for a long time but somehow thought I had not finished the form yet. Thus, she thought the other two people finished their forms earlier than me.Totally not make sense! If I have not finished my form, why am I handing it in to her? If they completed earlier than me, why didn't they line up in front of me at the counter. They just started to fill in the form when I was about finishing the form. She offered me a 10% discount card for apology. The only reason I took the card is to help Shoppers head office figure out who the pharmacist is as she initialed on the card. Because of her, my son had to stay in the store without mask for more than 30min. I highly suspect that I was treated like this because I am an Asian and the two people skipping the line are white. Will call Shoppers to file the complaint!
I came to the pharmacy to get my Vitamin B12 shot. I was on the phone with my lawyer and the guy working at the pharmacy gave me the consent form which I filled out and handed back he asked me to come inside to get the shot when I went inside I was still on the phone he asked me to put the phone down I said it’s an important call then he said once you’re done I will give you the shot so I left and came outside standing infront of the pharmacy. As soon as I got done with the phone call I went to him & he said I don’t want to give you a shot. I asked him what’s the reason he said I don’t want to give it come back tomorrow I asked him again can you give me a reason he said he is not comfortable. I asked him not comfortable for what ? He said I won’t give you the shot period. I told him that I was on the call with my lawyer he said I don’t care I won’t give you the shot today. I asked him can you please write down the reason on a piece of paper he said he won’t. I asked him to give my vaccine to me which I paid for and he gave it to me I garbaged it when can came outside the store. I came outside called the store while standing outside the store to get to a manager this same guy answered the call and Said Amira is on vacation & then I asked him about any other manager he said she will be coming back on Monday. I asked him his name and I even told him that I’m the same guy who was in there not too long ago for the B12 shot. He simply Hung Up on Me. Non Empathetic, non compassionate and professional behaviour. I need action taken against him and I will see if I can catch the pharmacy manager/ owner because this isn’t the way at all. 07.28.2023 at 5:30 Pm
This is the WORST pharmacy ever. The lady at the counter (found out afterwards her name was Reji) this evening (Aug 5, 2023) when I picked up my perscription was so incredibly rude. I will be filing a complaint with Shoppers Drug Mart. No one should EVER have to be treated this way. When I walked up to the counter she didn't even acknowledge I was there, that was the first issue. Then she continued being rude the entire time. I called the pharmacy when I got home to ask about my medication and to explain the dosage information and she would not help me. I had to contact the Creekside location and they kindly explained the dosage information to me and confirmed I still had two weeks left of my current medication, so they were unsure why they had already auto-renewed my medication. When I called to ask what the lady at the pharmacy's name was to file a complaint she would not give me her name and kept hanging up on me. I will be calling back to talk to the manager and like I said, file a complaint with Shoppers Drug Mart. The treatment I received was disgusting. Where do you find these people, seriously?! Also, they automatically renew your perscriptions which I never asked them to do and I had two weeks worth of my perscription still left.
Negative 5 stars coz the store pharmacy team, they ask the patient ,who is picking up the prescribed drugs, more than 5 questions, Not sure what the pharmacist is suspected, even I have my file with them since the opening, it could be the evening shift rules or specific pharmacist rules. There should be a different way to verify your customer instead of asking 2 additional questions even the pharmacist is about to hand over the medication... Really, What is the pharmacy policy for verifying your customer? How many questions, blood sample, fingers print are required to hand the prescribed cream...!! Update: I highly recommend you to provide the required coaching for enhancing customer service and ways of communication to the pharmacy team including pharmacists, instead of providing 1 800 to call for more info. Time for actions re required Now.
I was looking through the makeup section and I went over to the essence section which I very far away from the reception area. I tried a lipstick colour on my wrist that said try me, then the second I do it the lady sitting there starts yelling across the store that I’m not allowed to try it. She had short light hair and dark black framed glasses. I proceed to tell her while she is running towards me that it says try me. Then, other then admitting she is wrong, she says “oh! The guys probably forgot to take it out, you know they are taking the stuff out because of Covid and everything” even though the store is filled with try me products. What creeps me out is that she was watching me from the other end of the store, probably because she assumed I was gonna steal since I am 13 but she couldn’t even just apologize that she was wrong.
If there was a ZERO star review, I'd have selected it. I went to your store and while I was shopping I wanted to use the washroom. I asked at the beauty boutique who was busy helping a customer she asked me to ask at the front end to take me there. When I want and asked the cashier she answered that we don't have any washrooms which is a lie and I confirmed you guys do have a washroom in store, she answered no. I just wanted to let you know it's I'm convenient and a horrible customer service from your side. I don't have to explain my situation but some medications cause frequent washroom visits. Update: I tried to call the number you mentioned in the reply and stayed 25 minutes on hold and nobody knows anything about the review. You can either contact me or send me an email address that I contact.
I picked up medication at this store on their opening day and was pleased to find a clean, beautiful store with proper safety protocols in place. The pharmacy staff were all very professional and helpful in answering my questions about the medication I was receiving, as well as questions about forthcoming COVID vaccines. I have transferred all my prescriptions to this store because I found them so welcoming and great at their jobs. I have been so sorry to see both pharmacy and retail staff mistreated at other stores because of the heightened anxiety around the pandemic. I hope this doesn't happen at this brand new store with new staff who are already experiencing more stress and strife. Please be patient with those who help us every day!
Came in to get a booster shot. There were 4 people behind the pharmacy desk having a loud conversation. Clearly seeing they had customers at the desk they intended to keep having their conversation. Shoved a paper to fill out to me and i had to get their attention twice just to get a pen to write with. Once i finished I again had to interrupt their conversation just to process the paperwork . Took apparently a half hour to file that paperwork and when i was finally seen, the person administering the shot was so distracted by their very important conversation that she didnt even clean the injection site before sticking me with the needle. Hope i dont get a staph infection.
Giving this store a 1 star review would be considered generous for the absolutely deplorable behaviour I experienced from an employee today. Not only was I followed around the store relentlessly, I was also treated with a nasty attitude upon asking a question regarding the location of soap. At this point, I’d be considered a regular at the store, and had never experienced such treatment while with my caucasian friends, which leads me to wonder if such actions had a racist intent behind it. As if the rudeness wasn’t enough, the employee called other members of staff for no apparent reason other than to gossip and ask me pointless questions about my shopping.
This has replaced the London Drugs that closed down a while ago for me. Between the Creekside and Evanston Shoppers, this location has more variety and is fully stocked and well maintained. It's my go-to for restocking on health & beauty items since the London Drugs is gone. It's also very clean and organized in comparison to the other nearby locations, which is why I'd rather drive a little bit more to buy from them instead. Haven't tried the pharmacy, but I will say, I've called the store a few times in general and most times it went straight to a voice recording of them not taking calls. Obviously, this can get frustrating really fast.
This is the worst shoppers you could ever go to. They fired someone I know because our grandmother died so she had to take some days off. They called her a liar and fired herm of you go and support a place that doesn't take care of their own employees then why even supporting it by buying stuff from there. I find it disgusting how owners and corporations treat people without compassion, specially those that work hard to earn a living in this bad economy that we are going through. Let it be known that you have zero compassion and don't care about your own employees, to the point that you kicked out her after going to shop as a customer.
I have had a negative experience with the pharmacy. The pharmacist was rude. I was getting the Covid shot and she didn’t provide any information about side effects or adverse reactions. Once she administered the shot she just told me “it’s done”. She also didn’t mentioned anything about the paper work I am supposed to get until I went back and asked for it. Apparently she was too busy talking with the other workers. I saw her pulled down her mask behind the counter. Please save yourself a trip and go to the Sobeys pharmacy on Nolan Hill Dr instead. The services I received from both of the pharmacists there were excellent.
Went to the store around 545 on a friday night and a white lady with brown hair from the cashier section made me uncomfortable by staring at me and following me around the store. She followed me to the self checkout and I saw her starting at my pockets as they were full with my car keys, wallet and cellphone. I also looked at the my e-receipt and some of the items that were on "sale" on the rack came out as full regular price ; false advertisement. For instance, I bought 2 facewash scrubs as they were on "sale" on the rack and here I am looking at my receipt where it clearly states I was charged full price
Maricel stands out as an exceptional salesperson, consistently demonstrating professionalism and helpfulness. Her extensive knowledge of every product ensures well-stocked and accurately labeled shelves with prices and discounts. The store under her care is consistently clean and organized. Her welcoming smile creates a pleasant atmosphere for customers. Even during busy times, she remains calm and composed, leaving my family and me with consistently pleasant experiences at the store. She is the reason, this store has become our preferred shopping destination.
Very nice lady helped us with water bottles at the counter , 5 stars to her , but another lady ( wearing mask or whatever cover ) was drudging down the gate all the wayyyy long so I could not hear the counter lady. And the time was 9:25pm , I don’t understand what she gains and if it was necessary to be that rude, when there were no customers around and she could just wait , and it’s second time I see them closing gates that early , don’t get the point of doing it early in front of customers
The pharmacists have no clue what’s going on. One pharmacist didn’t tell me I hd to pay for something and it wasn’t covered under Alberta Health Insurance. Not that I wouldn’t pay but it’s better to know beforehand. A second pharmacist , when asked about Covid tests, said he “wasn’t sure”. Then, another pharmacist on Sunday, Nov 21st, was talking to customers as if he’s doing them a favour. There is a Co op right across from here and that has a pharmacy as well. Will go there from now on.
4 out of the last 5 times I’ve visited this store, the products have scanned at a completely different price than what’s on the stickers in the aisles. If I didn’t notice it I would have been overcharged every time. I understand if this happens once or twice but this seems to now be a regular occurrence at this location. When I ask the cashier to amend the price I’m given attitude. Not sure why the incorrect prices are shown or why the employees refuse to honour the correct prices.
I am so happy that this store is finally open, it is walking distance from my house. I stopped by a couple of days after they opened and I was so impressed by their attentive and friendly staff. I was immediately acknowledged when I entered the store and then again when I walked by the pharmacy. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back and I will recommend this location to my family & friends.
Fantastic service at this new location! The pharmacy staff was excellent - Rowena was super helpful and friendly and got me exactly what I needed. I was also greeted by staff in the cosmetics department as soon as I walked in and someone also checked on me when I was using the self-checkout to make sure everything was working as it should. Very pleased to experience this level of customer service at this new location.
Very poor customer service in the cosmetics department and the cashier supervisor. They couldn’t care less about “making things right”. Their story changed 2 times in the span of the argument and at the end I was just informed to call tomorrow and talk to the manager - this is the worst experience I have ever had at a Shopper’s Drugmart. Further training is definitely required on how to deal with customers.
Our experience getting our Covid shots was excellent. Rowena is awesome. We were greeted at the front door by the cosmetic staff and again at the pharmacy counter. After making an additional in store purchase we were helped at the checkout by another friendly staff member. Looking forward to using the travel consultant service once we can get out and travel again. We were very impressed.
The pharmacy repeatedly referred us back to the Drs office saying they had not received a fax. We got frustrated with the clinic only to be shown faxes had been repeatedly sent. With a weekend thrown in, it took 5 days to do what another pharmacy does in an hour. That lapse in time was not without medical consequences! Never again. DON’T go to Sage Hill Commons location!
I was waiting at the prescription drop off desk for almost 15 min. When the pharmacist finally showed up, she didn't even care I was there and got busy answering phone calls instead, even calls that came in AFTER she saw me standing there. I immediately left. I've always had nice experiences with pharmacists at other shoppers locations, but this one was just RUDE.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this Shoppers Drug Mart. All the staff I have dealt with (pharmacy, cosmetics and cashiers) have been super helpful, polite and friendly. The store is always clean and organized compared to other Shoppers. I would highly recommend shopping at the store and getting prescriptions filled at the pharmacy.
We just had a fabulous experience! Kenney just announced booster shots available to 50+, I called the pharmacy and asked if they could do walk ins. Although, they were caught completely off guard by the announcement - they were able to pivot really well, and my husband and I were able to walk in and get our boosters.
Not once had a good experience here. And this was the last straw. Took the boys to get a flu shot and the pharmacist was visibly irritated. After a number of excuses making us feel like we were badly inconveniencing him we took our business elsewhere. Just as I'll be doing for all my future purchases as well.
Very bad customer service specially with covid-test. Called 2 weeks in advance to book an appointment for travel antigen test to find out at the time of the appointment that the person that confirmed my booking did not book it. No solution was provided and I had to pay 90$/each for a last minute test.
Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique at Sage Valley has the best customer service in Calgary. Special big THANK YOU to Bess for her dedication, hard work and respecting the customers. Despite her shift was over, Bess helped to resolve my issue. What a great customer service! Bess, you are THE BEST!
This is the best Shoppers location anywhere. in fact the best experience I have had in a drug store. the staff are friendly and responsive and the pharmacy staff are knowledgable and helpful. prescriptions are prepared quickly and can be organized in advance. well done!
Love having this close to home!! Clean store, friendly staff! Vaccinated in and out with ease!!! Have notes moved all of our families prescriptions. I will make sure to sort this community anchor!!! FYI/ the pharmacist answered my dumb questions without judgment!!!
I went to the pharmacy today to fill a prescription and the pharmacist on duty and her assistant were so friendly and accommodating. The pharmacist also provided me with valuable and money saving information. So grateful to her and the super quick service.
I was there to pick my parcel from canada post. Varun was the person who helped me. He was so polite , gentle and helpful. I had my baby with me in car seat so he offered to help with the parcel to my car. I loved the service he provided. Thankyou varun.
Was looking to find someone to help me, several workers huddled up near cosmetics like it was high school gossip. They seemed annoyed to answer my question when I approached them. Terrible customer service, would give 0 stars if it was possible
May 19 afternoon I had the opportunity to visit this new location. Excellent service . The pharmacist and store staff are very friendly and helpful. So happy to have Shoppers Drug Mart at Sage Hill. Definitely highly recommended …
We did a walk in for our booster shots and the staff at the pharmacy were so nice and professional. We had Amira administer the shot and it was pain free and quick. Thanks for making our first visit a great one.
Thank you for taking the time to explain to me the benefits and the drawbacks of my medication. Briefing what is in the instructional pamphlet of the medicine was very helpful. Good professional service.
This store is brutal. Items always scan at higher amounts than indicated on the shelf. Some staff members (Middle Eastern) are unfriendly and lack even the most basic customer service skills.
Just got my COVID booster there and the pharmacist (and entire pharmacy team) couldn't have been better. Absolutely the best experience I've had. Very grateful they are in my neighborhood.
Gotta be my favourite shoppers in the city! The workers are all so nice and the store is always so organized.
