"I had been here three times"
"I have Ordered chicken wings but it’s not really great and half cooked"
"This is a typical no nonsense Wetherspoons pub! Inexpensive beers, wine & food, a trek to the toilets and a very lively atmosphere"
"As an ex member of Wetherspoon's staff I can say that this is the best team ive seen in a long time"
Visited yesterday and my mum ordered the Steak and Kidney pudding with madh potato. Very disappointed, the flat top of the pudding was hard, the mash potato was stodgy and the gravy you couldn't pour, it was like jelly and she had to spoon it out and dab on the potato and pudding! Won't be going back in a hurry.....
I had been here three times. The food is good with reasonable prices. The waiters/waitresses were very friendly and always checked if everything is alright. I recommend this place for anyone who want to hangout with friends. However, I do not try any alcohol beverages yet.
I have Ordered chicken wings but it’s not really great and half cooked. Can’t eat and chew as well because the flesh is crunchy when u half cooked. Even the sauces which I have got no taste . No staff came to see us, after serving the food to ask how it’s going on.
This is a typical no nonsense Wetherspoons pub! Inexpensive beers, wine & food, a trek to the toilets and a very lively atmosphere. A visit to the bar which nearly always has a queue, although staff are jovial and pleasant when serving. More
As an ex member of Wetherspoon's staff I can say that this is the best team ive seen in a long time. I have worked with Owen in the past, he always run a tight ship. His bar staff are great and engaging, his kitchen team get food out within
Lovely little pub tucked away Surrey south of Croydon. Only accessible by train/tram and bus, it's not the easiest spoons to get to but I would say it was worth the effort. Curious place with an art deco bar and plenty of seating available.
Nice place, with a pleasant structure, normal food prepared without attention to detail (a burger without mayonnaise what burger is? But ... maybe they had run out of it?). For the new staff, however, we did not find ourselves at all well,
Me and my sister came with our parents and some of our family last night. We were in a big group so we were all sat around multiple tables. The waiter came over and told us at 8.30 as we had just got our food that they were unable to serve
This is my second visit in the last 3 weeks so will cover both. In terms of service, staff are friendly and helpful. The pub is generally always clean and as I went there for food find the tables are cleared quickly. The food is generally
The Huxley is a great pub. Like most Wetherspoons, the food and drink are priced to be affordable and offer great value. The staff are a great bunch and it is a well-run and welcoming venue for all ages and demographics. My only gripe is
I went in for a coffee, mid afternoon. Not very busy but still had to wait a while. Coffee was very nice. Environment was the pits! There were two girls about 11 years sitting beneath the bar without any supervision. Two children about 3
I didn't try the food unfortunately but the selection of real ales was fab! £1:79 for a pint of Abbot Ale! There's a choice of around 10 different Ales at very low prices. The garden downstairs allows smoking too. It was busy but because
A very clean and well organised spoons…stopped in for a breakfast …was hot and very quickly served …staff were very efficient …tables and area really clean and the bar was well presented …even got a proper pint glass with my beer .. More
Seemed a bit understaffed tonight and noticed a lovely young lady was working so hard and seemed to be the only waitress. Alex brought over our drinks, (i asked her name) and she was so friendly and upbeat, smiley and a credit to
Very nice example of the Wetherspoons. Nice friendly staff and clean toilets. There’s a beer / smoking garden at the rear. Use the app to order if you don’t fancy queuing at the bar. Refillable tea/coffee for £1.49
Usual spoons, kids running around like idiots, reasonable food but the saving grace of very cheap drinks. Good service from the staff who work very hard. Very loud, would be much quieter with music on. More
Nice little pub. Cheap and cheerful wetherspoons. All food was nice except we don't recommend the apple crumble and custard. That's definitely the worst one I've ever had. Hot food made up for it
Great local pub with halfway decent prices. Good sized Beer garden and the front windows of the pub can be opened when necessary ( nice weather permitted ) the only downside is the parking.....
You can't argue with a Spoons pricing even if the quality isn't exceptional. For 4 breakfasts, a coffee, a juice and a brunch time pint with change from £20 - who cares what it's like!
I don't live in the area, so to give this pub a bad rating wouldn't be fair. I think it's a lovely pub and I found the people and service was excellent, can't say much more than that.
Very impressively run. Staff are superb , kind helpful. Nothing is too much trouble The pub is very clean and friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced and atmosphere is lovely plus warm
An unusual and disappointing breakfast! Ordered the eggs Benedict which have had a few times before…. Today the Hollandaise sauce seemed a little strange…. In fact rather buttery!
The usual Wetherspoon fare in a rather unusual setting. There is a main bar and big side room and a small conservatory. There is also a very nice sheltered garden area More
Atmosphere was flat, maybe because it was early ish..didn't have food so can't comment , and not a lot of variety on the cask ales compared to the George in croydon.. More
Been using the Huxley fir years and always rated the food .. But curry night this Thursday was awful... Pommpadoms where not cooked properly and covered in fat ...
One of the best wetherspoons I've been too, and what a lovely area, I will be back and next time I'll bring my daughter as this placd has a lovely atmosphere More
Another place from the same chain. Good ambience, quiet. Service is cold but correct. It is a place to grab a quick bite and a beer. More
Great place to stop for lunch. They even lit the fire, which made it so cosy in there
