I visited Friday evening as it was recommended by a friend I was warned to eat elsewhere and go for drinks but I decided to have the full experience. We got a table and server came to the table we placed our order and waited a while for the food the cutlery was placed on the table it was wet a sign that it was just rinsed under a running tap and not properly washed with soap and hot water. There was one filthy pepper shaker and no salt. This was already a sign of what was to come. My friend ordered prawns and calamari while I ordered oxtail cooked in red wine. The food arrived on the table cold and my plate was dirty I brought this to the managers attention who apologised and took it back. Second time around the food was warm as it should be I was served the most confusing plate of oxtail I’ve ever seen 3 pieces of oxtail swimming in the blandest gravy. a lot of capsicum and raw butternut this was supposed to be the roast veg accompaniment. At this point it was too much we asked for the bill as I couldn’t even go half way through the beyond mediocre meal I was served. Waiting for the bill was another extreme sport I walked across the street to buy a hot dog as I waited for the bill. A huge emphasis was made on tipping for what I don’t know exactly because everything was just below 0. I am in the industry and I can tell you now this place needs management prim and proper management as it is now the owner sees numbers but it’s definitely not for service or the product I waited for the manager who I told and showed her the raw butternut on my plate I paid my bill and tipped the waiter. Just to show that I was not here for a free meal but I was not leaving without sharing my feedback the manager gave me a smug response after I told her no red wine went into that dish. She so arrogantly said we use a cab/sav which is nonsense maybe it would have worked on the students who frequent the place but not me.

So we went to Six on 24/07/21 and got the most terrible service ever. If I could give 0 as a rating it would still be too much. We got there stood outside for a while before someone came to get us a table. So the lady comes shows us a table and leaves us for about 30mins without coming back to get our order. Mind you there was less than 6 tables occupied. I asked to see a Manger who comes minutes later to offer a half baked apology, then promises to personally ensure our experience improves from then onwards. Both these ladies didn't bother introducing themselves (the waitress and the manager) otherwise I would name and shame. So eventually the food comes and it's nothing to write home about. The Eton mess was a disaster, the was no promised fruit on the menu but fruit cocktail from the tin. After asking for the bill we waited a further 15mins for the waitress to come back, we eventually go look for her.. We found her chatting and giggling loadly with THE MANAGER at the bar. Did I mention it was as good as empty during this whole time? Needless to say I am never setting my foot there again. I feel sorry for the owner, the staff is not doing justice to this place.

Lol. A while ago I was banned from this place and to this day I still don’t know why. It was a specific bouncer that decided on this. I asked him what it is exactly that I did, and to this day he still can’t tell me what I did to get banned. I’ve been okay with being banned from the place because I don’t really go there unless my friends who love the place go there. Because I have friends who frequent the place I decided to actually ask the manager to explain why exactly I am banned. What a joke my darling. I was standing by the door with the very same bouncer, the manager came and only asked the bouncer why I am not allowed inside. She did not bother to ask me for my side of the story. But I guess that don’t matter because whatever the bouncer says goes, right? What is interesting is the fact that it’s only with this bouncer that I am not allowed in? All other bouncers allow me to enter with no issues whatsoever. I mean…if the issue was that I was disorderly or whatever then surely this would be communicated with rest of the staff that such and such individual is not allowed? The manager banned me from the establishment for asking to get my phones charged on the weekend, I tried calling the store three times to try and speak to someone who is excited to be a manager for the first time in their lives. She has ZERO customer experience and care. And I want my R 155 back because I couldn’t even finish the drink I ordered. Further I’m going to open a case of theft against the manager and the bouncer. Douglass is his name. So don’t go here without your own charger etc. It’s against company policy. And they manger DGAF She literally just told me to F off. Since she wants to exercise her management skill; I’m a CA(SA) - I understand that I’m not allowed I’m sixes but I work extremely hard for my money so I want my 155. If yo don’t get a response today - I’m going to open a case of theft against the manager and the security. Thanks

I received a very bad service here on Saturday and it was my first time coming here and I was really looking forward to spending my time at Six’s. I arrived with my partner and the waitress showed us where to sit. She then left and came back a few minutes later to take our order. Fine we ordered then she left again. We waited again, this time for more than 30 minutes with no one attending to us, no drinks in sight even. Waiters kept on coming to our table and asked if we were assisted yet and we said yes, a waitress already took our order but now she’s nowhere to be found. Other people who came waaay after us received their orders before us and we were just sitting there ignored. Such a bad service, I’m highly disappointed. We left after an hour of not getting any food nor drinks for that matter. I am never coming back here again. Negligent staff and bad communication. Never again!

I had the worst experience here. But I must confess the drinks were nice and so was the food. But the service was really bad. Firstly they forced matters when they were at capacity and forced us (2 people) to join tables with other people (3 people) saying that our table was too big for 2 people. Only to find that they placed 2 people on our table, there was no need for us to move. Our waiter made us pay the bill early because he was knocking off - this was what made our new waiter move us because she felt like we weren’t spending enough money and our table was deserved by others ( she was basing this off our new bill - which we just started - our old bill had food and about 3 cocktails each). The waiters hand wrote on our bill and told us what to tip. The whole service experience was awful, they could do better on that front. But everything else was delicious.

From the time you step into the establishment, you’re greeted by a nice wide open seating space and the vibe automatically sets you up to enjoy your evening! From 11am - 7pm every day, all cocktails are buy one and get the same ordered free - who doesn’t like a freebie alcoholic drink (hint: try the gentleman jack) Had a pizza - Perfect Size! Perfect Base! Perfect Toppings! Perfection! My mate had the Mozambican Peri Peri Wings and Chips - he said the best in town! Their food is on point! Service can be a mixture between fast and slow, however you’d hardly notice because you’ll be having a gas listening to the music, which by the way is a jukebox, so you control what you wanna listen to (R5 a song) - depends on which side you’re sitting! Fun establishment to hang with your mates or girlfriend’s - chilled vibe - mixture crowd - diverse, young and mature!

I'm so disappointed with the service from this place, they have no respects for their customers. My friends and I were accused of vandalizing their furniture when we asked that they look at the cameras so they can see that we not the ones that did it, they proceeded to insulting us and threatening to beat us. I honestly feel like the whole situation could have been approached in a more respectful manner...The current lady manager must seek self introspection cause that is not how you treat people that bring the business money. If you guys see this please train your staff on problem solving skills.

Very disappointed with the service I received today, this is like a home for me, the waitress that was serving me decided to place me on someone waitress table, of which I did not know the other waitress was just very rude time, I personally think you have to train your staff when it come to costumer service and respect, I paid for drinks that I did not even enjoy while I was prosecuted by the that waitress. My third time visiting Six Cocktail Bar & my recent visit was atrocious. I usually come for the nachos & this time they tasted HORRIBLE, even the guacamole was flavorless. I ordered a cocktail recommended by the waitress (who also gave us the slowest service) and it was okay, but not even in the least bit potent. This cocktail was under the Potent Cocktails section, yet it was really weak. I am so disappointed by this experience as I usually have a good time here. Will not be visiting again.

The establishment is great, nice food, friendly staff. But the ownership is putrid. Since I’ve had personal observations, I can say that the owner is disrespectful, treats the staff like they’re slaves for him, is bigoted, and quite frankly childish. I would love to support the staff, but he bans people who he simply doesn’t like, and that toxicity makes it difficult to even care about stepping in. Establishments that only care about money and not decency is a no from me.

Always a lovely time here! Visit them for 2 for 1 cocktails in the evenings. The staff are absolute characters who are always going out of their way to ensure that the customers are happy and having a great time! The nachos here are delicious and a personal favorite. I enjoy the comedy night on Mondays at 8pm, the salsa dancing on Sundays is also a very festive event to attend! Definitely my favorite spot to stop off for drinks with friends, super great atmosphere and always packed, so be sure to get here a little earlier for a table!

This place definitely has the best cocktails in Johannesburg! Very friendly staff members, always making me feel welcome. The food and service is also great! One of the few restaurants in Johannesburg with cocktail special of which Six Cocktail Bar’s special is from 11:00 to 19:00 EVERY SINGLE DAY! Ella and Maurice (Morris) are definitely the best and fastest bartenders I’ve ever seen. Shoutout to them, thank you for the good service!

The whole experience was bad! I hated it! We asked for water and we only got it very later on with our food. Both drinks and food took forever to arrive. Our 1st waitress was almost absent to the point where I asked to speak to the manager to get assigned a new waitress. To make it worse I get home hoping to have my pizza only to find a salad! I called in and told them their mistake and they tried solving it in a very unprofessional way! I am never coming back here and I will tell other not to as well! Extremely bad service!

This is a great place to be at on a Sunday afternoon. Awesome crowds and as the evening wears on, the salsa dance social kicks in which is always great fun! On Wednesday nights from 2000Hrs, it's Jazz night! Virgin cocktails are priced 2 for 1 which is fantastic, everything is fairly priced. Friendly staff and good food. The place is well ventilated which is pleasant. Music is not too loud, so you can still hold a conversation. Restrooms need deliberate maintenance attention and a meticulous cleaning schedule.

My girl and I went to this place and we were not happy at all! First of all, it took more than 30 minutes for us to get our drinks. Despite being polite, our waiter was overwhelming himself with other ideas hence the reason why it took so long for our drinks to arrive. Secondly, they didn't want to put on the TV for us to watch the biggest match in South African football (Soweto Derby). Lastly, we were given the worst table although it wasn't even that full! We are never gonna come to this place again!

The waiter who was serving us was nice enough, it was his first day on the job so whatever minor snags are forgiven really; no cutlery, long waiting time, etc. My main issue were the substandard drinks, which had clearly been watered down. Even the shots were diluted perhaps as a cost-saving measure at the customer’s expense. We raised this with the manager who said we should order stronger drinks; what’s stronger than a Long Island Ice tea?

The staff are really friendly and they go out of their way to cater to your needs. The management/owner was quite rude in that he seemed to not care much about the customer's discomfort. They also have a weird seating arrangement/rules and because of that, we ended up sharing a table with another group- which is awkward since there were empty seats in a section we couldn't sit in. Apart from that, the cocktails are remarkable.

I had a few pizzas with 2 friends, can't remember which pizzas, but they were perfectly baked, fresh veggies, crisp crust and enough melt and juice. The place was buzzing with vibes from a melting pot of different generational cultures and clicks. We had snoop doggy dog cocktails, about 20 times, haheha, we really took advantage of the buy 1 get 1 free offer. Nice place to be. I only regret not taking pictures.

I was unlucky to be served by a waited called Sam, Waiter was rude and it ruined the mood, they need to have clear signs on where the entrance is instead of being rude when we enter where they don't want us to enter, Never returning I asked the lady to correct her mistake, she said the manager is the one who told her to be rude to customers, very demeaning, not worth a cent of you cash never mind your time

Lovely atmosphere. Was not what I expected though. Had to fight for a table. Waitress was all over the place living her best life, but failed to serve us. She had an attitude towards us due to the fact that we complained about her. Her name starts with a "D". We really did not like her service. Furthermore, we waited forever for our drinks and food. Absolutely appalling.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Six's from the moment I was greeted & welcomed by our waiter Bradley.✨ From the amazing pizza, Minenhle's show stopper cocktails behind the bar all the way down to the Jukebox side of the venue, wish others who've had issues in the past with service return for a refreshing experience in Melville during their 20th anniversary!

Overall great place to chill, it's large with different sections for different folk. Tends to get very full though and the outside feels unsafe. Would still visit again.

What a beautiful spot. Clean place, great service, delicious food, a wide variety of delectable cocktails, plus they have a happy hour from 11a.m to 19h00 where buy one cocktail and get another one for free. I got a complimentary cocktail for my birthday on top of that...I had a great time there.

The food isn't worth the price but hey what can we do. Great vibey place needs a little of an extension too for their peak hours. Hire more waiters and waitresses.

Cocktail menu is VERY extensive and covers for all kinds of tastes. They have a happy hour (2 for 1) for all cocktails EVERYDAY so also very good on the pocket. Cocktails in general are tasty. Generally has a good vibe on weekends. Highly recommended the place.

This place attracts a very lovely, young crowd. Waiters and waitresses will serve you in the best way possible. The menu entails an extensive list of cocktails, most of them priced at 71 Rand. You can’t do anything wrong here (unless you pass by only).

Poor service. Expect to get you drink 40min after you ordered it (when the place isn't busy). No DJ so the music isn't really that great. Cocktails are really basic. I had high Hope's for this place but I was extremely disappointed
