A quaint little bookstore located in the upscale Kensington neighborhood. Walkable from the Underground station. A good collection of fiction and nonfiction books. And an enviable collection of art posters. I liked their nonfiction collection a lot as it had many books which I had not even heard of even though am an avid reader and follower of books. A little squeezed out towards the further end of the store, so may have to take off your bags for other's convenience. I wish there more quirky London based magazines to choose from. I could only find one, named "London Magazine" of 1700s. Overall a memorable experience.

A fantastic local bookshop with a selection of new titles and discounted books. It is small but very well curated, with specialisms in art, travel and quirky non-fiction. It also stocks interesting random books which are not always available in big bookstores, and because of its small size it can really highlight those gems and treasures which would have gotten completely lost in a bigger store. This is definitely a store to browse and pick up something that catches your fancy, not necessarily a shop to come to with a definite shopping list.

A really good independent bookshop, in a really cool part of London. Great mix of books, with fiction being on a special (3 for £10). Big selection of cookbooks, mindful books, travel, history and Children at the back. Some really unique and well designed occasion cards at £2.99 each, some would be worth framing. Staff seemed pleasant enough, and were willing to order in books if they didn't have them in stock. I take my mum regularly here, especially if visiting the local museums (V&A, Natural History, Science, etc)

Gorgeous independent bookstore tucked in the gem that is South Kensington. The joy lies in going inside simply to browse and leaving with a piece of your heart renewed - you will have a book under your arm and a smile on your face and honestly, what more do we possibly need? South Kensington Books is a beauty. What I especially loved is that in their wonderful collection of books, there is a nice price point for everyone. Will definitely visit again!

  • Vidhi Shah

A small independent bookstore where most popular titles are available. They have a good Art books section, and a decent travel and classic fiction selection too. They also have a collection of interesting posters. This bookstore is very close to the underground station and walkable distance from popular museums like V&A and Natural History Museum. Many restaurants and cafes around too. Five stars for the convenient location.

  • Andrew Balog

Lovely little independent bookstore that we saw while walking to the tube station and decided on a whim to go into. Ended up spending over half an hour wandering around and getting lost in the magic of it. Their prices were much better than any corporate or chain bookstore, and the employees were all welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. This is the kind of place we ought to support, there's nothing quite like it!

  • Lana Burns

This bookstore is lovingly kept, whilst still offering a wide range of mostly modern fiction they also offer political manifestos, nonfiction and other delight tidbits. This is a shop for browsing and coming across particular authors, you can find a lot of good translated works such as italo calvino but may struggle to find Roald Dahl. The two shop keeps are very helpful too.

One of my favourite bookstores in London. They have an amazing selection of art and history books despite the fact the shop itself is quite small. Also the books are much cheaper than buying from other bookstores for some reason, which is great!! If you find a book that you’re interested in, don’t hesitate to buy it. Most likely you won’t find it again next time you revisit.

Great independent traditional bookshop which is a pleasure to visit. Even when closed the often changing window displays remind you of the quality of this small shop. They sell postage stamps, posters, gift wrap and a few greeting cards too. Located one minute walk from South Kensington tube station and so also very near the three museums.

  • Jessica Alborzpour

Cute little shop, the Science museum is just across the road. Quite crowded when I went. Excellent selection of books in different genre's and a small collection of stationery and cards for any occasion. Perfectly close to lots of different cafes and restaurants to grab a coffee and pastry with a good book. Highly recommended!

  • Richard Cumming-Bruce

Quite a small shop but with a very good selection of interesting books, especially on art and history, and always with a generous selection of books on sale. Definitely worth at least 10-15 minutes of anyone's time if they can spare it and it's only 1 minute from the Underground station.

  • Una Park

Really interesting choice of books. Went in to just have a look but ended up with 2 great books, which I've never heard of. Such interesting authors, now following them in their web channels! So a quick visit to this lovely shop has given me so much and broadened my horizons

  • Shankara Hettiarachchige

My girlfriend and I were in this store browsing just before a big crowd of horrified people fled the area. The staff in this store remained calm and ensured that we were safe in this store. By the way, the books are fairly priced. A little gem in South Ken.

  • Tom Bell

A small and very lovely bookshop in London's Museum Quarter, close to South Kensington tube station, which packs a lot of stock into its small space, with particularly strong representation on art and history (as you might expect, given its surroundings).

  • Chris Booth

A great bookshop which has been around for decades. They sell new and remainder stock so you can find some excellent bargains here. Plus some of the major exhibition catalogues are a fair bit cheaper here than in the galleries and museums hosting them.

  • Alessandra Petrone

I'm an Italian student of English literature and for me it was a dream to visit this amazing indipendent bookshop. It is close to the tube station and offers a great selection. Also, most of the books are very cheap. Support local bookshops.

  • Sarah W

Lovely little bookstore nestled amongst the shops and eateries of South Kensington! You can find some very reasonably priced paperbacks here, and a large sale bin. Decent variety for the size of the place, and it can get a bit crowded.

  • Mike Bravos

Amazing bookstore, me and my girlfriend enjoy visiting this place and search for books. The selection is satisfying and you can find different genres of books. The prices are great, much better than the bookstores around the city.

  • The Hiwayman

Typical little local book shop, very small but with reasonable selection. The staff are helpful and pleasant. However the manageress is rude and dismissive. So a bad experience which won't be repeated as I won't go back.

  • Tanuj Saluja

Review from my 4 year old son "It was kind of good book shop, we read some books and bought them too. It was super-fun, very very fun book shop" Goes to say how much we loved the experience as a visit to this store.

  • Ettore Botti

Awesome bookstore, I got a promotion, 4 fiction titles for 10£, totally unbelievable. They’ve got a good selection with different titles, shout-out to the travel section, it seemed quite big and diversified.

  • Natinho Lima

Very extensive range of cards. Shapes and prices. Looking for that centenarian birthday, all cards here. We specially liked the boxed cards. The shop has other items on sale, worth coming in and browse.

  • Steven Lawlor

You never know what you might find in this little shop. Some wonderful art books. Many other types of books available too. Great bargains often to be found. Like to drop in regularly, see whats arrived.

  • Akin Oladimeji

They've got a wide variety of books and friendly staff. It's a shame the prices are just not very competitive. Knocking off 50pence isn't much even though your taxes are higher than online bookshops.

  • Simon Taylor

We stumbled on this gem, just round the corner from the Natural History Museum. A great selection of books, from classics to new releases, arranged by genre - and there's a good range of genres too!

  • Orsolya Garai Szabó

Fairly priced book, very nice atmosphere. You can also buy beautiful gift wraps and greeting cards. The window display looks spectacular . It is a treat to browse among books in such a lovely place.

  • Wenzao Li

What a lovely store. Great selection of interesting books. Arts and history. I found a great book which I would have never heard of otherwise. It costs only £10 while Amazon sells for more than $30.

  • Edward Clark

A goldmine of great books. Covering a wide number of subjects there are books here for every interest. And good prices too, books and quirky greetings cards sold by friendly staff. Recommended.

  • Stephanie Davy

Lovely little store, lots of books and nice staff, and I managed to bag a signed copy of a book while I was there -- the author was there signing them, which was an unexpected treat.

  • Matt brooks

Love this bookshop. Always call in when I'm in South Kensington and have time to spare. Got a good mix of genres & I can always find something that peaks my interest

  • Alexei Babanin

Excellent! A petite little bookshop with a broad selection of both old and new stock, all fairly priced. Assistants are friendly and will help you out, no questions.

  • Veva

Cute and affordable bookshop with a great selection available. My go to bookshop as it allows me to support an independent bookstore while on a student budget.

  • Carolina Delgado

Love it! I always stop by to find a precious book. They have variety of subjects, but the art and design books at the front are more prominent in the offering.

  • Gisela PV

Great discovery of this independent book shop in the heart of South Ken. Small, cozy, with a nice selection of books and even an outdoor community library!

  • M C

Probably one of my favourite book shops in London. They have such a great collection, and they’re also relatively cheap too. Really enjoy coming here.
