Chronic pain sufferers!! Look no further ***This is a long one but worth the read *** I have tried countless massage places in the city, I've done the memberships, double monthly massages and even gone as far as private home sessions to try and find the person with the perfect touch. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I’ve spent the last 3 years going from place to place ultimately unsatisfied, whether it be the service I was getting or the lack of actual help my massages were delivering. In the end I cancelled the memberships and lost hope, still receiving massages from time to time just to “sort of” relax. My goal has always been to help ease some chronic pain I have, I’ve spent time in physical therapy, Arasti and chiropractor’s for this. It’s something I’ll most likely have for the rest of my life. I do know that massages can help, not only with the pain but also allow my body to relax. I received my first session here as a gift for Valentine’s Day gift, I had never heard of the place and didn’t really have high hopes based off the experience’s I’ve had over the last several years at other places. However I am absolutely blown away by the service I received at spavia, the sweet lady’s in the front were very helpful and attentive. The center is clean, well organized and relaxing from the moment you walk in. In the retreat area I was taken to a personal high tech locker where I could store my belongings and already had a pair of sandals and robe waiting. Now let me talk about this for a second !! When I say sandals and robe, I’m talking HIGHEST quality, the robe was lined with faux fur and had a nice weight to it, the sandals were thick (not those lousy foam ones you get at the salon) and comfortable, they perfectly contoured the soles of my feet. I felt they were sandals I could walk around in all day. After getting dressed in a private dressing room I waited back in the retreat room, the room is cozy with adjustable lighting and soft zen music playing. My therapist Liz came to the room and greeted me by name. Now let’s talk about Liz , my main point in posting this review was to just talk about her, but after my experience I feel there is a lot that needs to be commended here !!! Liz was THE BEST massage therapist I have EVER had, if there’s anyone who’s fit for the job of finding the therapist with the magic touch it’s me and I am here to tell you I found her !!!! You can tell liz has been doing this for years and knows what she is doing. Her room is clean, well organized and cozy. She is communicative and attentive with the areas you are needing the most attention. During my one hour massage she was sure to quietly ask if her pressure was ok and quickly change it if I stated I was in any discomfort. She allowed me to enjoy my massage in silence and truly relax. There were several times where I told her how nice it was to finally have a therapist that seems to truly understand what chronic pain is like and where exactly it needs to be treated. She is extremely knowledgeable as-well. At the end we discussed my problem areas, she explained what could be the underlying issue and how I can’t continue to possibly help it at home in between massage sessions. If you are looking for a therapeutic deep tissue massage THIS is the place to go and LIZ is the person to ask for. I have never, in my time searching for a small cure to chronic pain, left a spa nearly in tears of joy and with chills. This is exactly how I left spavia. For the first time ever I feel my massage TRULY helped my body. I am so happy to have found the place that can finally help me. They offer memberships that work with every type of budget and need. I am so excited to become a spavia member and know my money will be well spent.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! My husband and I were looking forward to a couple's massage and had been looking for deals and times that would work for us for months. We almost never get to do them but we like to do them together because we're talkers and jokers and we have fun together while getting massages. I love spending time with my hubby, the massage is just a bonus. We found a Groupon that was pricey but was the only one that seemed to work for us and gave it a shot. I reserved online the first time and was called by someone polite that they overbooked the room and asked for another day that worked for us. We pushed it back a few weeks and that was perfectly okay--not upset. Then we show up to our appointment yesterday (DATE DAY and excited) and they tell us AFTER we arrive that they have to keep us separate. To be clear, I ONLY chose this place for the couples massage because I found more affordable places for individuals on Groupon with the same reviews I would've preferred. We weren't there for a massage, we wanted to spend time together. So this infuriated me. The fact that they waited until OUR APPOINTMENT to tell us. They knew ahead of time and just didn't have the integrity to make it right and call us. They knew we'd just go with it since we were there already. Then they moved us into the 'couple's room' which is two reclining chairs, zen music, and tea in paper cups. This is already INTO our appointment (our fault for not being there 15 minutes early, rather 10 minutes but none of this was necessary. It just reduces the massage length and doesn't add to the experience.). We didn't get to prepping until 15 minutes into our appointment. I had Rebecca--nice and did a good job but I was way too pissed to relax because I knew they hustled us and I don't believe that was 60 minutes after the prep and 'couple's room', but I failed to check the time it ended so I can't say for sure. The rooms and atmosphere were plain and simple, NOTHING I would've paid this much for, but was not uncomfortable or dirty. We went back into the lobby to leave/tip and the timid cashier said she called her manager who 'did the math' and we still made out with a good deal. Comped us a foot treatment for our 'next appointment. Shall I book it?' HA! It's not on this girl, she just works there and was as polite as can be (as was I but I needed to leave because I was getting angry). No integrity, mediocre experience (but massage was good, so not hitting on that), wouldn't have booked this place if not for this COUPLE'S Groupon, and patronizing us as we're leaving. I hate businesses that behave like this! Thankfully, there are plenty of good ones out there that we'll look forward to in the future.

Update= Yes, Tisha did made things right for me, and as a result I’m trying out the basic membership for a while & changing the rating. I may need to try the mid-tier membership, as the basic is definitely basic compared to what I’m used to getting for $60. I’ll update this after a few more visits to compare. Jan 2023= I signed up for a massage at a first trial rate durinng the last weekend of January, and I unfortunately had a mixed experience. The desk clerk didn’t give me a tour or an idea of what to expect or anything. She simply took me to the lockers and said here’s where you can put your clothes, then you can go in that room (pointing) to wait for your therapist. Since she didn’t explain how to operate the locks, and there were no instructions, I tried my best but did it incorrectly & couldn’t open it again. I had to ask her for help and then she wasn’t sure how to get it open either. So I told her I would just wait until after my massage to give her time to figure it out. The massage went as expected. However, I wondered why I spent the time filling out paperwork beforehand when it was obvious my therapist hadn’t read over it. He asked me several questions that were answered on the paperwork. After my massage, the front desk clerk opened my locker for me, and left. At checkout, she didn’t ask if I had quesions about membership, so I had to ask her about the few questions I had. I told her I would likely sign up that week, and she said great! Then I paid and that was that. Today I called the store to sign up, got the voicemail, and then decided to try to sign up online. That’s when I noticed the prices had increased $10 from last week. I called the store again, and when the representative called back, I asked her about the change. She informed me that it was a new policy effective Feb. 1st, and had I signed up before then, I would still have enjoyed the $59/mo rate for 6-8 months (she wasn’t sure on the timeline, but there was a grandfather clause of sorts). I asked why didn’t anyone tell me that when I was there asking about membership at the end of January, and she said she didn’t know. There wasn’t any sign posted at the front desk about the upcoming price change either. I was ready to sign up today to give it a try for the ambience at the Spavia Alamo Ranch, but now I don’t know if I want to bother with changing massage therapists or not, as now this is more expensive than a private session at my house. What a very disappointing customer service overall.

spavia customer service, GREAT! But I have a warning for purchasing gift cards on the website. On the site, there is a "deal" to pay $100 and get a $125 gift card. This is through a third party (myhownd) but you won't know it until it's too late. I was suspicious when the offer said I would get $125 card for $100 and then it also suggested I would get a 20% savings. Does that mean I get it for $80? Despite my suspecting this was shading marketing, and speaking with a representative at the store, I figured I'd give it a shot. After making the purchase for $100 plus a $3 fee, I got a confirmation email and then a second with my gift card. This one telling me I have to download an app (myhownd) to collect my gift card. Not happy, I download the app (what choice do I have at this point?) and of course have to give every piece of information for them to sell and/or spam me to death. When I finally get the app and account up, the app says I have to turn on my GPS and be at the store (spavia) to open my gift card and redeem it. I continue to get the GPS warning even though my GPS IS on. This is meant to be a Christmas gift for my wife so I drive to the store and try again. Same message and I still can't get my gift card (while standing inside the store). Fortunately, the staff at spavia is great and made everything right. As obvious it is that spavia wants to take care of their customers, I'm very surprised they would partner up with such a shady company such as myhownd. I recommend spavia discontinue partnering with myhownd as it could be a reflection on spavia. More on myhownd - the app doesn't have a cancel account option. So I locate a chat option and chat with a rep. When I tell him I want to cancel my account, he tells me he'll have to "elevate" my concern to the next level of support and I will hear back from them "as soon as possible for assistance." As of this writing, I still haven't been able to cancel my account. To summarize - spavia seems great but if you're buying a gift card, either go to buy in person or make sure the online purchase is from spavia directly. Thank God I didn't have the gift card sent straight to my wife... Sorry for the long rant, but it really ticks me off when a company has to trick people to use their product and then make it as difficult as possible to get out of it. THE END.

I would give 3.5 but I can't. Appt was under the name Dolgikh I got multiple pampering's while I was there. I had booked this as a present from the husband for my birthday. Joseph was a great conversationalist, friendly, great manners, professional etc. 1. Skin Renewing Sugar Glow (Sugar Scrub) --- (Joseph) We combined it with the massage to make transition faster (no time was lost) - I agreed, but I am unsure if combining was a good idea or I should have kept them separate. I thought it would have been more then a rub rub with the scrub/oil but it was nice (especially the stomach area) 2. Essential Signature Massage - Joseph did a Great job for the most part. Besides the problem areas it was more superficial "massage" in the areas of the lower calf and lack of touching of the arms. I told him my problem areas - R Shoulder he did Fantastic!!! Sciatic on both sides did Amazing!!! Inner Thigh (Adductors) GREAT --- Feet he more or less did a smidge of pressure points at the beginning when relaxing you to start, but more or less skimmed over. Even though these were problem areas I wish I would have at least got a fast pass or two down the arms/hands, but he didn't even touch them besides doing the sugar scrub 3. Fijian Warmed - Oil Scalp Treatment - (Joseph) Not worth it! Don't recommend... I more or less got a superficial "rub" 2 inches into my scalp from my face from ear to ear and the rest of my scalp wasn't really touched or oiled. He did start pouring the oil and I could semi feel it dripping but what was "massaged" was literally right next to my face/ears and nothing else. He wiped the oil down my hair and I don't know if that was for a look or what, but I was expecting him to get into the crown of my head etc. with the oil and massage. Waste of money $ 4. Signature Classic Refresh Facial - (Alex) Great conversation, seamless work, loving the smells of the oils, face wash, etc. that she used. The spatula tool she used was not fun, but man does my face look good ;)

Love Love Love...where do I begin showing the love. My sister and I went to Spavia for a sister's day. We didn't know what to expect as this was our 1st visit. The front desk ladies were so helpful, they took us to our lockers and we changed into big, fluffy robes and went to visit and relax in the ladies lounge. We 1st went and had our facials done. Normally I come out of a facial all blotchy and red but not this time. When I walked out my sister freaked out. My face and skin looked so good, in fact, we both think it looked significantly fresher than when I walked in. We were shocked and of course, I was so pleased. Next we went and had our massages. My sis like hard core, use your elbows and everything and work it out. I like a pat, like a very light rub. We couldn't be more opposite. We both walked out after our massages saying "It was the best massage we have ever had" and that is shocking because it's usually one or the other is happy, since we are so different. And the prices, very reasonable and affordable for anyone. I love massages and love the detox they offer but I'm a busy, working mom and I need my dollars to work for me and at Spavia, they do! I can't recommend this place higher and we will be back soon! Thank You Spavia!!!!!

I hadn't heard of them but found a Groupon that was a good deal. I booked my massage online which was quick and easy. Check-in when I arrived was also easy since I completed all the info they emailed me. I like that they ask a lot of questions to personalize the experience. They showed me the women's "locker room" and how to use my locker. Got a towel and sandals then waited in their tranquility room. Zach did a great job communicating to me and even game me some recommendations for my post-workout stretching routine I told him about. They didn't try to sell me on anything when I was about to leave, just gave me the papers with prices and told me to call with any questions. I will definitely be back and I recommend! Update 5/17/21 - I have been here a handful of times now that I have a membership. Tried a couple of the different massage therapists but so far they are all pretty mediocre. I've tried 3 there and so far the only one I like is gone, Zach. Going to continue to try different ones, but they don't have many people working there so I'm worried I may need to cancel my membership and go elsewhere

I'm pretty irritated with this place. I picked a package for my wife's birthday and it's been on the books for 2 weeks. It comes with a massage, facial and hot oil hair treatment. I called and paid for everything, including a tip, and somehow they just forgot to do the hot oil treatment that's part of the package. Then she had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come in to work, who rides a motorcycle, so they couldn't call him first, to see if he could do it. Of course he couldn't. They refunded me, but I don't want a refund, I want what I picked out for my wife to enjoy for her birthday. How can you just forget a service that's a third of the package and then just not do it all together? She very much enjoyed what she got, which I appreciate, but that's not all the services I intended for her to have. We don't live close to here and she's been waiting weeks for this day. She's also been excited about this hot oil hair treatment and asking me all these questions about it just to not have it done. I guess at least I didn't have to pay for it... Thanks.

A friend bought me a giftcard for a massage and I ended up purchasing a membership. I tried a few different massage places to compare membership packages, prices, massage therapists and overall facilities, and this location was reasonably priced for the quality of services you have access to. I tried a few massage therapists and my favorites were Liz and Joseph. Liz was great at checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable. Joseph is also great at adjusting pressure and focusing on whatever my problem area is. I cancelled my membership because I moved to the other side of town, but if I can't find a new place I'll likely restart the membership and make the drive to Spavia once a month. My only gripe is the online scheduling system. I set up my account, but when I made my first appointment there was somehow two different ways to make it online and that created some confusion that involved the front desk calling corporate (it all just seemed really odd). Ever since, I just call to schedule/reschedule appointments and have had no issues that way.

The service techs are great which is why I didn’t give one star. The front desk customer service is subpar. I was blaming them but I realized it was a lack of training and no trust of the owner to allow them to do their job. I love supporting local owners, especially women, but I can not support this business. The owner doesn’t call you back and when I needed to do a refund, I had to purchase my new item, leave the one I wanted to return and hope I didn’t end up paying for both. Sydney gives a relaxing massage and is very personable. Christina is by far the best person giving facials, her knowledge base is remarkable. I wanted to continue to support the techs but I can’t support the business. I gave my 30 days notice and will be taking my business elsewhere. I do wish Sydney and Christina the best!!

I stopped here on the way home from San Antonio and got the package deal with a massage and facial. Both of the services were AMAZING! However, the front desk staff and management could use some help. I was charged over $40 EXTRA and thank goodness I checked my account. I told the staff about the charge being incorrect, and was told they could not do anything to fix it. She had to wait until the manager came In the following day. I expected a phone call the next day from the manager - but nothing. The charges were miraculously fixed but the customer service here is awful. Two days later and there is still no contact from a manager. If you go here… check your bank accounts.

I was overcharged for missing an appointment. I used the first time guest discount, but was charged half of the full price. I called that week to speak to someone about it, they took a message and never responded to me. I called again and no answer, left a voicemail. I get a text a few hours later trying to handle this over text. I asked to speak to a manager and I am told they will leave a note for the receptionist. I don’t know if it was a robot or a real person who texted me, but I am still waiting for a call from a real person who can help me. Update: the “lead manager” texted me the policy. Still haven’t talked to a person.

I have been going to Spavia for 2 years and have always, always enjoyed the experience. I've always felt refreshed and relax until today. Today was the worst experience I've had. It was very clear the technician does not enjoy her job. She showed no compassion, was very rough and rushed through everything. 3 hours later and I am very sore instead of relaxed. Thankfully the ladies at the front desk were very understand and apologized about the bad experience. I will just make sure to never book services with Cristal ever again. Spavia as a service is awesome. If Cristal was my first experience there, I would never return.

I tried Spavia twice. The first was a mediocre experience and the second was worse. I was discouraged from using a robe (I’m assuming to reduce laundry), the tech did not give a choice of lotions as advertised, he draped a cloth over my eyes without asking that damaged my lashes, and disturbed my attempt to relax to make an inappropriate comment about my hair. I was offered water only to find that it is in a paper cup and out of the water cooler in the hallway. I notified Spavia of my experience on their survey but they haven’t cared to reach out. I would not recommend Spavia for a spa experience.

I liked that the suit the experience with you how you prefer it. When filling out the guest form on the iPad, they ask what kind of music you want to listen to (I chose piano and acoustic guitar) and if you want to your specialist to talk to you or not during the service. I noticed that the changing room had amenities you could use like the hair dryer after using the shower which was really thoughtful. The retreat area was very relaxing where you can treat yourself to some water, hot tea, or a warm neck pillow. Julianna and Debra were amazing. I would definitely visit again in the future.

Excellent place to relax and enjoy a beauty day!! This place is clean and just a great relaxing environment. Wonderful customer service from Jennifer and Julianna. The lady at the front desk was a pleasure to talk to too. My daughter got a deep cleanse 60 min facial and I got the Vita-C radiance 60 min facial. At the end of the facial, the ladies talk about your skin and what can you do or use to improve or maintain it. I honestly loved every minute of it. They offer memberships with great deals! Just the whole things was an amazing experience and we will for sure come back!

I had the pleasure of being greeted by the heavenly smiles of the staff while being engulfed in the organic setting of Spavia Day Spa-Alamo Ranch's tantalizing and artistic layout. My Esthetician, examined my skin, developed a detailed treatment plan with my input, and put me in a state of relaxation through the use of touch, fragrance, and sound. Once my session was finished, it was as if I was reincarnated and left in a state of total relaxation waiting for further instruction!! I highly recommend the Spavia Day Spa-Alamo Ranch for your skincare needs.

Poor customer service. They don't answer the phone and expect you to leave a voicemail or email. Then they don't acknowledge that. I had to cancel my Mother's day massage due to waking up with a stomach virus. They still charged me because it was less than 24 hour notice. Manager didn't even get on the phone let her receptionist be the messenger. Apparently they don't care about health and safety protocols and would rather you show up sick. Maybe if I said I had Covid symptoms they would change their mind. Will take my business elsewhere.

I arrived 1 hour early for my appointment thinking it was already 11:00 am! I was so frazzled! Instead of leaving and coming back, Melissa had me sit down with a cup of tea, lavender oil and a neck wrap and just RELAX! It was a wonderful antmosphere. All this before my facial with Lexi! While waiting, I had the pleasure of speaking for a bit with a “godly” woman . (God knows where we need to be). I thoroughly enjoyed my facial !! Thank you SPAVIA! I will be back.

The service provided was extremely wonderful from the moment we walked in. Ryan was happy to help me and a friend of mine fillout the paperwork and answer any questions we had about the services provided. Our masseuses Sydney and Cynthia led us to our rooms and gave the most relaxing and comforting massages. Spavia is definitely a better pick than massage heights in every aspect. I just left after getting a maternity massage, and this was the most amazing experience ever. Cynthia was absolutely amazing! She was very adamant about me being comfortable with everything, and she was very good at what she does! The man at the front was very kind, and even offered my husband water and tea while he waited for me to get out. They will definitely have our business again, thank you for everything!

Really enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance of this local day spa. Clean and COVID compliant. The massages are top notch, especially when adding the CBD boost or Hypervolt massage gun to a treatment. They have so many facials to choose from and the guest advisors are warming. I really like the Fiji lotions and the Hemp Pain Cream they use! Their memberships are affordable and doesn’t break the bank!

BEWARE! First trip was very relaxing. I got a coupon for $25 discount for services but when I scheduled a massage and facial, spavia ranch rescheduled two different times. I couldn't reschedule the second time, and didn't want a masseuse that didn't want to be there so tried to cancel my appointment. They charged me 50% and I received no apologies for all the attempted rescheduling.

I absolutely love Spavia. So peaceful, so clean and the staff is extremely friendly. My husband would book me massages here during both my pregnancies. Im being completely honest…by far the best prenatal massages! And I have been to other spas around town and was never satisfied. I even bought one of my pregnant friends a gift card to spavia, that’s how much I love this place.

I had the most amazing classic facial with Christina! Not only was she knowledgeable, I had little to no discomfort with extractions. Professional from the beginning to the end of my service. She knew my concerns with my skin before I even acknowledged them! It’s been 2 weeks and my face still looks amazing! I will definitely be sending my girlfriends and family to see her!

I really, really wanted to like this place. The masseuse was disgusted that I didnt know I needed to wear a mask while face down on the table. I wasnt aware of the policy! This made me feel terrible and I wanted to run out of the store. My facial was very basic, but the esthetician was kind and welcoming. I will not be back, and for the money, I suggest other go elsewhere.

After looking at spas near me, I decided I would give Spavia a shot. I had found a coupon on their site that they were not able to locate when I got into the store. I pulled up the coupon on my phone and they honored it without giving me a hard time. Sabrina and mikayla were amazing and so kind. I am very happy with my service and I will most definitely be going back.

I’m disappointed with customer service in regards to contacting the location. I can’t get any one to Answer the phone so I can get my membership clarified. They have implemented an automated answering system that’s is not customer friendly. It forces you to leave a message and there is no one that returns your call. I’m rethinking my membership!

She does a fantastic job of listening to the needs of her clients and accomodate us(clients). Clean sanitized room, fresh and inviting. I leave there relaxed and refreshed every time. I was a little disappointed that the front staff forgot to give me the paper work. So I wasn't able to personalize my massage. Being the first time there I really had no idea about it. It was my Mothers Day gift. But over than that my services were amazing and everyone was really nice! Very relaxing and the place was very neat.

Sydney was able to take care of the knots in my back and was very professional throughout the massag. I highly recommend anyone who wants a massage to get one with Sydney here. I have some medical complications with my back and she is very knowledgeable about treating my condition's back pain. Definitely will go back again.

I absolutely love this spa! Not only did they reschedule my appt when I had to cancel last minute, they also have incredible masseuses. Love their lounge, it sets off your visit right! I like to come early to shower before (for facials) and start unwinding before my treatment. After a massage, I'd loung again with a cup of tea (no one rushes you out) and shower after. Again, taking my time and just enjoying the experience.
