"My Goodness !! LARGEST Spotlight Store , I've ever had the excitement/anxiety/overwhelming feeling wandering around (mainly lost ) "
Spotlight at mt Gravatt has been a staple in our wonderful little community for years . It's a place you can go and always find a bargain , while being inspired to create . Being a part of their VIP is a must if you love a bargain . I bought a potplant holder at$35 but was asked if I was a VIP member when I said no , I asked if I could sign up it took a few minutes of my time , no paperwork just a pH no at the end of it my pot plant stand cost $12.95 well worth the time people such lovely young staff willing to help and ready with a smile and knowledge of what U need so definitely head down there for all Ur crafts and home inspirations
I like the fact that you can buy cloth and things to make clothes and costumes there, but you have to look hard to find actual bargains. The staff are friendly but, like most places these days, they are perpetually under-staffed. Stock can be displayed in a disorderly fashion, so you do have to look carefully to find what you are after. On the most recent occasion I shopped there, I did find what I needed, but I can't say it was cheap despite there being a 40% off sale. It is what it is; don't expect miracles. It's great this place exists when you need cloth and haberdashery.
I've gone to get helium balloons twice, and the balloon lady that served me both times is passive aggressive and not helpful! She told me I couldn't get balloons to for the next day because they wouldn't last and I would just have to blow air into them. BUT when I went to the Mount Gravatt Plaza $2 store (they also do helium balloons) they said they could put high flow in, no issues and it'll last for days. How does spotlight not offer high flow? Or maybe they do and that balloon lady is just not helpful.
Customer service needs to be improved. On Tuesday around 4.30 to 5p.m. I went to Spotlight to pick up some click and collect orders which were packed with tag. On the way out the lady with half light coloured hair standing at the door was looking at me disrespectfully. She needs more training to work professionally and show respectful body language to customer when checking bags. I am a customer here since 2007 but with her attitude I left the store with unpleasant feeling.
My Goodness !! LARGEST Spotlight Store , I've ever had the excitement/anxiety/overwhelming feeling wandering around (mainly lost ) . IF you can't find - with the assistance of BOTH delightful/knowledgeable STAFF - whatever specific items you crave...they potentially don't exist !! HUGE array of EVERYTHING... seriously !! The PARKING experience in this "shopping strip" , is NOT for the faint hearted...or Learners
I went to buy a quilt cover in the clearance section and when I asked for the price they said it wasn’t on special. I wanted to buy the grey one but they were also green ones available. This is false advertising. The manager and his staff were quite rude to me.Buyer beware. This is a very unfortunate incident because I’m a VIP member and shop there regularly.
The store is large with a great amount of stock available. Good specials bin near the checkout. However, the customer service let's this place down. 1 person at the checkout with a line of 6 customers waiting to be served. We were told the other cashier was on a break. This was 5pm, who takes a break 30 mins before the store closes.
This is my local & honestly they have always come through for me whenever I’m looking for decorations for Halloween, birthdays, Christmas or arts & crafts! Amazing balloon & party section & the team has always been friendly to me! No dramas when it comes to returns & easy parking just our front! Highly recommend!
I've never had a 'quick' visit to spotlight. It always seems difficult to get help and takes a while to get through the checkout. If they had an extra staff member or two this might make it better. If you know what you're doing and not in a hurry, it would be a great store.
One of the biggest spotlights I’ve been too. It’s like a craft persons dream so much wool and everything else in here. Spotlight also always have the best specials and great quality as well. There’s also an amazing range of party supplies including heaps of balloons! …
Great for all kinds of crafty items. Although I seemed to get lost in the place. They need signs of where different items are located. No stuff really around to ask. The lady at the counter when paying acted as if she didn't want to be there.
Excellent deal. Fast order preparation. Good communication, although directions for collection unclear. Waited in line at front counter for ages, only to be greeted with substandard customer service, then directed to balloon/party area for
Extremely rude employees, especially "Ibrahim" name. I returned some materials that I purchased yesterday (about $600) and did not cut or use at all, and I also got the receipt. Their employee named 'Ibrahim,' who did not have a name tag
Absolutely terrible customer service today. It was quite obvious that I was looking for items as I had a list of supplies in my hand, but was completely ignored by the staff member in the yarn section. Twice I asked the person who was
Whether you need fabric, cotton or fabric glue, for repairs or odds and ends for hobbies or craft,I have seen so many items in the one place, not to worry as the staff are always eager to help or point you in the right direction.
Good large sized spotlight. Sometimes can be a little busy so be prepared to queue to get material cut. Large craft section and party supply areas. Parking is a bit tight and the parking lot has not been maintained very well.
Could I spend hours going through the bargain bins, yes. Went there for some craft packs for a nieces birthday. Left with the craft packs, knitting supplies, a new crochet hook and a bunch of beautiful helium balloons.
Great service from the blinds and curtains section. Chantel was really helpful, finding a solution and saving me $$ with her advice. Spotlight Mt Gravatt has become my go to place for blinds, curtains and fabrics.
Love the specials more discounts being VIP member everthing you want is there Aboriginal print sheets and Aboriginal throws. Also large range of Aboriginal print material, that I made a door stopper with
The store was nearly set out with specials clearly shown. Unfortunately, with most shops, staffing/ help on the floor was non-existent. The staff behind counters were helpful
Love this store, its like walking into a huge 2nd hand eccentric store in Melbourne, you never know what you will find at a bargain price!! Macrame wall hanging just $5....
Fabric choice is great, but comes to the cutting table in lines you will be waiting forever for some one to serve you. They arevalways understaffed at this store.
It’s been years since I have been into a spotlight store. I was amazed at the range of products, especially now we have an 18month old who loves to craft!
Helpful staff BUT no trolleys! They have been removed and only small red trundlers available. This makes shopping difficult for those with disabilities.
Lots of stock. Aisles too crowded for disabled to negotiate comfortably. Not enough staff to ask questions of, most just seemed to be stocking shelves.
The staff here are terribly slow with service and absolutely useless with knowledge! I think the store is in another dimension where time stands still.
I did a 'click and collect' and i was truly disappointed after i had reached home to find the product i ordered was non functioning and water-stained.
Spotlight is wonderful. All the really great specials they have on at the moment. Christmas shopping all in the one place. Thanks
Had the best experience with staff at Mt Gravatt. Lovely young staff helped carry heavy blinds to the counter and to my car.
Needed supplies for a sewing project. Have noticed a reduction in the range for sewing, fortunately we found what we needed.
Awesome stuff and if you couldn't find what you're looking for, then it mustn't exist in my opinion! ✨ …
Always great bargains. The downside is that lots of items are not priced especially in the craft aisles.
Very good experience. Efficient staff. Please put more flanellette on clearance especially dark colours.
Lots of home maker things in the shop from materials, crafts, blinds etc. Very hard to find staff help
Awesome place if your looking for decor for the home. A great place to pick up a few Xmas gifts too.
Good range of products but display can be somewhat chaotic from shoppers inspecting items.
As it's one of the larger stores, my wife found what she had been looking for in a while.
love, love, love, Spotlight. Great range of products, great staff.
Love Spotlight's collection of arts n crafts stuff!!
Good range & reasonable during a sale
