It's important to note that as a public property, every part of the stadium can be utilized by anyone, as confirmed by the Karnataka Athletics Association (KAA) and the stadium authorities. Here's the review If you're a football enthusiast visiting Bangalore, the Stadium is a must-visit destination, especially on match-days when the home team, Bengaluru FC, plays their games here. The stadium is famous for hosting exhilarating matches of the Bengaluru FC football club, and the passionate fans create an atmosphere that is both thrilling to watch and intimidating for the opposing team. For this reason alone, experiencing a match at this stadium is an absolute delight. Owned by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka, the Sri Kanteerava Stadium is the largest sporting complex in Bangalore. The stadium offers more than just football matches. It features a running track, a volleyball court, and two outdoor rock climbing walls, providing a variety of sporting activities for visitors to enjoy. Originally inaugurated in 1946 by Maharaja Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, the stadium was constructed on the bed of the Sampangi Lake. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations and improvements. The central arena boasts an eight-lane 400-metre synthetic athletic track, ideal for track and field events such as Shotput, Discuss, Javelin, Hammer throws, long jump, high jump, triple jump, and pole vault. The stadium caters to a wide range of sporting disciplines, making it a hub for athletes and enthusiasts alike. Apart from hosting sporting events, it is also a versatile venue for other activities. It accommodates events like walkathons, filmmaking, rallies, and exhibitions, showcasing its versatility and ability to cater to various interests within the community. The stadium's architectural design is both impressive and functional. With large entrances leading to the inner field and lower spectator stands, accessing the stadium is convenient. Additionally, there are eight ramps providing access to the upper stands, ensuring that spectators can move around easily. In total, there are 12 gates available for the convenience of visitors. Whether you're a football lover, an athlete, or simply looking for a lively sporting atmosphere, this stadium is definitely worth a visit.

Sree Kanteerava Stadium: A Great Stadium with Horrible Facilities I recently attended an international football match at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, India. The stadium itself is a great facility, with a large capacity and a great atmosphere. However, the facilities for the crowd were absolutely horrible. There were no public restrooms in the stadium, and the only restrooms available were for the VIPs. This meant that the crowd had to use the restrooms in the surrounding area, which were overcrowded and filthy. There were also food or drink vendors inside the stadium but what about quality, This was a problem for people who didn't have enough money to bring their own food, or for people who had dietary restrictions. Overall, I was very disappointed with the facilities at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. I understand that the stadium is old, but it is still hosting international matches. The stadium authorities need to do a better job of providing basic facilities for the crowd. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars Recommendation:If you are planning to attend a match at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, be sure to bring your own food and drinks, and be prepared to use the restrooms in the surrounding area. Closing: I am an Indian, and I am ashamed that our country's premier football stadium does not have basic facilities for the crowd. I hope that the stadium authorities will take steps to improve the facilities at Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, is an sporting arena located in Bangalore, near Cubbon Park. The stadium with capacity of 4,000 is part of the Sree Kanteerava sports complex which includes the athletics cum football stadium besides other sports. The stadium has an elliptical dome consisting of 120 folded plates (precast) of varying cross-section.The stadium is a venue for some of the popular sporting leagues of India, including Kabaddi and badminton. The stadium is air conditioned has a separate entry gate and a large parking. It is worth a visit to see a sport being played there. The Sree Kanteerava Stadium is located right in the heart of Bangalore near the iconic Cubbon Park and is part of a sports complex, which also includes an indoor stadium and tennis and basketball courts, among other facilities. It's location makes it easy to reach by public or private transportation and it hosts a number of local, regional, national and even international events. The stadium itself is not the most impressive with its seating and spectator facilities being nothing special. That changes, however, when the popular home football team, Bengaluru FC, plays its matches here. The team, with its passionate fans, creates an atmosphere that is extremely fun to watch and intimidating, if one is an opponent. For this reason alone, this place is worth a visit on match-days.

The stadium authority is the worst authority in India. For semifinals they gave only the seats in the back of goal posts to away fans. NO MIDDLE SEATS. Those seats are reserved for banglore fans only. And what's worse is those seats were 100 rs before and for away fans they increased the price to 450. What the hell!!! People are not getting good view of the game and still they have to pay 450 for a bad view!! Apart from that this stadium has a football court and synthetic track. Jumping pit, training Matt, ambulance service, dugout etc.. It can carry upto 25000 people at a time. Many entrances are there. For football matches, I suggest finding seats in the middle. Roads around the stadium is very busy. So the parking will be crucial. Preferable choice is taking public transportation to get to the stadium. This stadium is the home stadium of Bengaluru FC.

It is a very good place as I visited here for two consecutive days. I did not have much idea about the place that the place contains so many facilities for sports, gymnastics and other indoor and outdoor sports activities. They have certified coaches from different fields such as an olympian sports person, Asian games champion and many more like them. The kids, students, and sports people are very motivated over here. Everyone looked excellent in their endeavour. The place is little old but it has enough facilities for budding sports person in different areas and arenas. It gives me great joy after seeing people with so much of enthusiasm for the love of sports. Hope to see similar places in different states as well with advanced facilities. So that our national sports person can develop and deliver at international front in more numbers.

A Great Stadium with Horrible FacilitiesThere were no public restrooms in the stadium, and the only restrooms available were for the VIPs was very disappointed with the facilities at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. I understand that the stadium is old, but it is still hosting international matches. The stadium authorities need to do a better job of providing basic facilities for the crowd.Toilets can be made cleaner. Lot of bad smell was there. Little bit of maintenance needed for chairs and No water bottle,Chargers, Power banks, earphones, umbrella etc are allowed inside the stadium. And suppose u have taken it by mistakenly you have to drop near the security side and then you are not going to get it back again..Bad experience I Had..They should keep one locker atleast.

Overall good experience

  • Bireshwar Das

The place is great. Saw one match between India and Kuwait. One issue i faced, that Helmets were not allowed and the shops over there charged 50 rupees for one helmet, that kind of loot i felt another thing i was not able to find proper parking initially i felt the arrangement for parking is little messy at that day, but finally after much rounds we get a parking but they looted us for helmet. Another thing, we went to get help from someone over there, but he didn't help me cause we didn't know kannada (Now a days Issue with Bengaluru). I have tried to keep the description more elaborative, hope this helps.,

  • Yathindra Prasad N

The place is nice it's huge actually i really loved the experience of watching a live football match you should also really come and have this experience once, I definitely recommended it for the price it was only 99 for the ticket and the place is huge like literally so much walking and walking and walking around to buy tickets and then to go to the stadium. It was a lifetime experience and I think everyone shd experience it. The parking was free, it has many gates so inquire and proceed before be early like ten minutes before so you can enjoy. I really loved it ⚡.

  • althaf jamal

Oh what a waste of infrastructure. They can do a lot more with this. What an opportunity to build a world class stadium and they dont even maintain it well. Looks like it was painted a long long time ago. The atmosphere is brilliant when it gets crowded but the authorities do nothing to make the guests comfortable. Bangaluru FC is a world renowned club and their home ground looks like this? Thats a shame. They dont allow anything that can be thrown down during ISL matches. Better not to bring an umbrella, a water bottle , even airpods, power banks or chargers.

  • Jeeshan George

The outdoor stadium is home to Bengaluru Football Club (BFC) and the ISL matches are the highlight. There are other track and field events that happen here too, so it's quite a sports hub for central Bangalore. The maintenance of the place could improve substantially. Chairs are broken, rest rooms are in bad shape and spectator experience is not really great in the stands. The boxes might be better, but not really experienced it. Location wise it's in the heart of the city, so easily accessible by private and public transport

  • Smriti Samanta

My first live football match experience, it was really amazing. (Bengaluru FC vs goa) Stadium is massive and has good capacity, lights were perfect on spot but the seats were poorly maintained covered by bird poop and dust. Washroom was okayish. The more crowded the more you enjoy with all that cheering and hooting. Snacks and drinks were available from different brands. Security is nice and tight. Must visit because I can assure watching it live vs watching it on tv is a whole lot different.

  • Mueeza Akrampasha (mickey132825)

The Kantirav Stadium clearly stands out with its impressive facilities. The architecture echoes a modern vibe but retains the charm of a traditional sports arena. It has ample seating capacity which allows comfortable viewing. Staff is friendly and the ambiance is truly energetic. It's a fine venue that extends beyond just hosting sports events. The cleanliness of the premises deserves a mention too. I had a decently good time here. Recommended spending your leisure time at Kantirav stadium.

  • Harsh Ashesh

Talking only about BFC matches. The energy of the crowd takes the game to next level. Especially in the west block its "one of a kind experience" in the city. CAUTION : if you have a kid along goto to another stand like vip stands, but most definitely not to west block as the language isnt a child would want to learn. Parking: remember where you have parked. Getting out is slow but ok. Getting a cab back home will be a prob so try walking to mg road via coffe day square from the stadium.

  • Udayan

Good & Decent stadium. The vibe here is different, especially if you are watching the match from West Block Blues. The crowds of West Block Blues will make you sing and chant with them, a great experience especially watching the GOAT Sunil Chettri. But a lot of improvement is needed in the maintenance of the stadium, the seats and toilets are dirty. If maintained well this would turn up to be one of the best stadiums with a great view.

  • Karthik Ram

Great experience, depending on the match. Great gathering, amazing vibes. Had the opportunity to witness the victory of our amazing Bangalore football team. The seatings are not the greatest for a place of such huge fan gathering. The ground does not allow carrying the following: - Water bottle - Sanitizer - Ciggerate and lighters/match - Snacks - Tobacco - Harmful instruments etc These will be thoroughly checked for at the entrance.

  • Ravi gowda

Kannada , Karnataka and Bengaluru FC - vibes inside the stadium is electrifying! West block blues and their chants really lit up the stadium. Below videos are from the semis between BFC and MCFC which went to death penalties. One of the craziest match I have witnessed. How can both teams score 8 penalty goals each! Surreal! Somehow Sandhu stopped the next one and Bingham went on netting the next one and yes BFC won in the end!

  • Rohit Ghosh

5 stars only for the atmosphere created by the West Block BLUES during the SAFF championship 2023, which is when I went. Otherwise the stadium doesn't feel like it is a stadium of a big city like Bangalore. Either money is not allocated for renovations and repairs or systemic corruption is apparent. Right from the gallery seating areas to the toilets, it reeks of negligence and apathy; certainly not what our athletes deserve.

  • sharath j babu

I am weightlifter represented All India inter University games the coaching staff of weightlifting Raghunath sir will give good coaching and made many students dream come true and it is one of the best place for athletes who are looking for their career in sports to train. Thank you for the Karnataka government to providing this beautiful place to train but please make hostel facilities for students for all games.

  • Jonnie

My first day visiting a crowded stadium here in bangalore was pretty mind blowing. Tho to many crowds, which is understandable.. The game was just on another level. It's my first time watching the game of football Indian and Kuwait team who played here was really amazing The excitement with my pals was also extremely awesome.. watching them screaming with joy after india won the game it was a killjoy Love it

  • Sanjay Kumar M

Good place for morning walk. Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, also known as Sampangi Outdoor Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bangalore, India. It houses a running track, a volleyball court, and two outdoor rock climbing walls, table tennis, tennis court. Pro kabaddi matches are Organised in kanteerava Indoor Stadium. Indoor Stadium has capacity of 4000 seats. It has canteen for breakfast.

  • Shivukumar patil

I visited kanteerava stadium recently to watch ISL semifinals match ( BFC vs MCFC ). One of the best match in ISL i have ever watched. I loved atmosphere around 22,000 people are present to watch that match. Westblock blue are terrific. I am so lucky that i got a chance to see the santhosh trophy and i took a photo with that. Seats could have been better apart from that every thing is good.

  • Chinmaya Kayargadde

Brilliant place to run at. It's a 400m track. Track opens at like 5am and is free. There are loads of people in the mornings running. There's enough parking too. But you can enter from one side only right now. Also, there's a restaurant there if you need to eat. There is a lot of place outside the stadium too. When the BFC(Bangalore Football Club) match happens, the crowd here is just the best!

  • Gunasekaran SP

It's poor that this huge stadium's restroom facility is unavailable / not proper. Water bottle, food items are not allowed. Local food prices are rocket high. In a city like Bangalore hosting international matches, this stadium doesn't even have a screen to show a replay/moments of the game. There's a small screen which only reads the score. Worth watching for the atmosphere, nothing else

  • Arijit Mukherjee

Visited Kanteerava recently to watch an ISL match. Electrifying atmosphere, supportive staffs... overall smooth and safe experience with family and kids. Easy to reach by public transport (metro/ bus). Parking available for own vehicles (else best to park your vehicle at UB City parking which is just opposite to the stadium). We will definitely visit again to watch football matches in future.

  • Shivasharana Bingi

Beautiful ground, seating was wonderful me and my friends went to watch a football game between Bengalore fc vs Mumbai city fc. In that Bfc won the match and went to the finals, the atmosphere in the ground was wonderful. The tickets are far price it cost me 200 rs per head in North upper stand which has good view point in this prize range. Price varies depending on the stands you choose.

  • Dr. HareKrishna Mandal

The Sree Kanteerava Stadium, located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is a multifunctional stadium primarily used for football and athletics. It has a seating capacity of around 24,000 spectators. The stadium is a significant venue for football matches, hosting both domestic and international games. It serves as the home ground for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL).

  • MAYANK GUPTA

Sree Kanteerava Stadium: A Great Stadium with Horrible Facilities The stadium itself is a great facility, with a large capacity and a great atmosphere. There were no public restrooms in the stadium, and the only restrooms available were for the VIPs. This meant that the crowd had to use the restrooms in the surrounding area, which were overcrowded and filthy.

  • Anupa Gnanakan

Kanteerava Stadium has been around forever and is a public space for anyone who would like to train. When you see all the athletes training, it will definitely motivate you to get onto the track. There are lots of little clubs for kids to join and train on a regular basis. The toilets are bad though and could definitely do with the a good cleaning.

  • Rakesh Pimplikar

It's a very nice stadium in a prime locality in Bangalore. It's surrounded by Vidhan Soudha, High Court and Chinnaswamy Stadium. It has running tracks and a football ground at the center. It has a decent seating capacity. It's one of the stadiums hosting Indian Super League matches. It also hosts the Wipro Bangalore Marathon every year.

  • Md. Kazim Agha

I had been to this stadium for the Bangalore FC vs Goa match. It's a great experience. The starting price of the tickets at Paytm insider is ₹200+tax which gives a decent view. There is abundant parking space available. Two wheeler parking is ₹30. The crowd and atmosphere is amazing. Overall a Great football experience!

  • Naveen K

This is more of a multi purpose stadium which also has Rock climbing walls. They also have an indoor basketball court. This stadium was renovated for national game's held in 1997. U call still see the sign board inside the stadium It also has flood lights installed. Could be maintained better

  • Chaeyoung Kim

I didn’t visit there to watch any sport game, just roamed around in the stadium after Konark. Many people were practicing and training on the track. It’s so nice place to sit and rest for a while and children can run over freely, however the maintenance of whole area could be done better.
