Considering that this place is highly rated with locals, this cafe doesn’t provide the best quality of food and drinks. I’ve visited here multiple times to try and get different things to try and have ordered online through Ubereats as well. The salad bowls are good, the protein however is not seasoned and bland. Tried the knafeh toast and it was rich, delicious, and authentic tasting. Tried a mango smoothie while dining in and it ended up somehow tasting bland with no sugar or sweetness to it. I however did bring this up and the manager gave me a refund for it which was very nice. Since lockdown, I’ve been ordering through Ubereats and the menu is just stupidly overpriced for what you get. It’s a 2 minute delivery, and I understand that they have to wait for drivers to arrive and they have to increase prices for profit as Ubereats takes a percentage, but the food shouldn’t be tasting like cardboard. Chips I understand, but the fish piece was small and cardboard like on the inside. The sweet potato fries are good and seem to be super popular so they decided to increase the price to $10 instead of $9 all of a sudden. Coffee is not that great. You can walk 2 minutes to get really good graded coffee at brew crew than get it from here. Ordered an iced mocha and they gave me a hot mocha when on their menu through Ubereats there is no option for a hot mocha. So was charged $8 for a small hot mocha. I admit, I am fussy with my coffee and foods, but I just can’t understand how this place is reviewed so well when I’ve repeatedly been given low quality food for a high price.
Great coffee, potentially the best in St Ives if the owner makes it. If the younger lady is on the machine then I walk back out. Not worth paying for coffee flavoured dishwater. The mother at the front desk who takes the orders needs to brighten up, smile, show a bit more interest in customers and listen properly. 9 times out of ten you're greeted with a scowl, asked what you want very bluntly and she then turns away while you're ordering before asking you whay you want again. She gets the order wrong most times and has never gotten my name right once in the last two years despite me telling her my name, then correcting her when she says "Hey?" Or repeats the wrong name. I've had my coffee given to other people multiple times because they're not sure whose coffee belongs to which customer. Food takes absolutely ages, but on the most part is fantastic. Bacon and egg roll isn't the best unfortunately which is pretty sad. Just too bland, dry and very expensive for what it is. Don't bother going on a weekend morning if you're in a hurry. We waited one and a half hours between sitting down and getting our food. We actually had to go and buy some food somewhere else for our kids who were having meltdowns. My advice - talk to your customers, be friendly, give the poor Dad out the back a hand cooking the food, train anyone else that makes the coffees, try for consistency with the coffee and give mum a hearing aid and a holiday. Hopefully she will smile and get people's orders right.

I didn’t realise this café existed - it was tucked in the back alleyway - since we live on the other side of Mona Vale Road. My daughter wanted to have breakfast on the way home from her training on Sunday and I suggested we go and try. Interior was a little out-of-date but it was busy and that gave me a little hope that food could be good. We had Breakfast stack and Eggs benedict with Chai latte. Food was alright but they didn’t wow me for their price. When I went to pay at the counter, price was a bit more than what it should’ve been. I was a little puzzled and my daughter then said there was 10% Sunday surcharge. I said I didn’t see anything like that on the menu, that’s when my daughter pointed the board behind the counter. Yes, it was there even though it was not readily noticeable. Not only that, I felt a strange vibe that the waitress didn’t want to give me change when I paid cash. I waited for change and got them at the end but realised they were short. I could have put the change in the tip jar but I really don’t like it when they presume. They had some interesting dishes on the menu which I truly wanted to come back and try but at this stage I don’t know if I will go back.

Scrambled eggs are cold and you can tell it’s been pre-made in a batch for serve later - if you ask me that’s a fail and lazy for any cafe standards. Mango Magic (smoothie) is supposed to be made with ‘fresh mango’ according to the menu and yet magically it becomes a banana smoothie instead - I get it it’s not ‘mango season’ but without any explanation for it by serving me another “yellow smoothie” is an insult to my intelligence. I can tell the difference between mango and banana! Service is great but the place is in a noisy car park, literally. There’re so many cafes in Sydney these days and this one… meh…

Parking is easy because it’s literally in the car park.
We recently had a lazy weekend brunch in this St. Ives cafe and we had quite a nice time there. The service is good and the ambience is reasonable for suburban family cafe (a bit noisy). The problems were finding parking spot for our car since the area was so packed in the weekend and food services sometimes are very slow in busy times. Their food is western and Mediterranean-style cafe foods with lots of variety and the ones we tried were OK though quite pricey. Their coffee was also not bad . We've tried the Spanish Bull brekkie plate (scrambled eggs plus chorizos on sourdough with feta and crispy kale), Baked sausage eggs w/ bacon and mushrooms and a side-dish of Arabian Cauli-flowers w/ hummus dipping. They're quite yummy and healthy brunch food and the portions are very generous. I wish they could reduce their portion size and therefore, lower their prices also to make it more accessible.
Our first impressions of this cafe were a little questionable, as the venue is tucked down an alley and opens directly onto the car park. However, we quickly re-calibrated our expectations upon entry. The funky vibe and industrial feel is quite edgy, with modern music playing in the background. Service was prompt and the coffee was superb. I ordered a meal from the specials board that incorporated delicious figs with prosciutto, a culinary match made in heaven. My partner ordered the Goodfella which features crumbed eggplant. After savouring my dish he said I definitely ordered the better meal. I was half expecting this cafe to be pretentious, but I was pleased to note diners of all age groups, including seniors and young families. Overall a great experience, although one of the waitresses we found quite charmless. Maybe we caught her on a bad day.
Ordered for pick up a falafel bowl. They took note of a wrap. I rectified the person over the phone: it is not a wrap, it is a bowl. When I went to pick up the order, they looked all confused, and asked what I wanted. I mentioned a falafel wrap for a second time. I noticed they were still telling between themselves "he wants a falafel wrap, but I can't find his order". I had to clarify myself for around 3 to 4 times, it was not a wrap, it was a bowl. Turns out they didn't have my order ready, and I had to wait for yet another 10 to 20 minutes after travelling 20 minutes already to pick up my order. Extremely disappointing, and a total waste of my time, considering I had to go back to work without eating, as I couldn't wait any longer. Get your act together.

Really lacks customer service!! No greeting, couldn’t figure out who worked there as they were all huddled around the counter stood there for 5 minutes thinking that people were ordering, only to find out they all worked there! bought a pastry there thinking at 6am it would be fresh, tasted stale as if it was a day old! A smile and a greet goes a long way in the hospitality industry, for me to greet them and get a reply of “ what you like “ and me thinking yeh I’m good thanks for asking lolz. Side note, coffee was nice, would have been better if they remembered the extra shot I payed for.

Great little Cafe tucked away in St Ives. Food was great, wait time and prices were horrible. When we arrived the Cafe was full of ppl having coffee, so assumed the food would be out pretty quickly but unfortunately we waited 35 mins for our food ☹ The food was good portion sizes except only getting 2 cherry tomatoes they were delicious so made up for the wait time. However, $57 for 2 breakfast, 1 coffee and an Orange juice is outrageous. No wonder not many ppl were eating when we arrived.....No one can afford the food !! Tables also weren't1.5 meters apart, and only half the staff were wear masks with noone waiting to order in line wearing masks.
Disappointing food. I ordered the CBLTA which is "grillied chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayonnaise served on Turkish bread with fries". You'd think that combination of ingredients would pack a flavour punch, but it was surprisingly bland. The chicken was unmarinated and basically tasteless (and dry); the bacon was fine; the lettuce, tomato and thin layer of avocado were also tasteless; and the watery mayonnaise ("No Frills"?) made no difference. There was nothing that made this sandwich "work", nothing to make it interesting or enjoyable to eat, or worth $19.

Food: amazing food. You can really taste that they use fresh ingredients. Well balanced flavours. We also went back on another occassion and tried the Tradie Roll (not pictured) which was also great, especially the hashbrown, and Ham & Cheese croissant. They use "real", good quality ham and cheese. Would highly recommend. Drinks: chai was absolutely divine. They use a real spice mix, rather than a powdered mix so the chai flavour was strong which I like. Customer service: can feel like they're understaffed when it's busy at the cafe. Other: kid friendly, parking available directly outside the cafe (but limited)
Stanley Street cafe.....Is the hidden gem of St Ives and lower North Shore. Coffee is amazing...not just the beans(which are by the way Allpress) but the way in which the coffee is made, with style, favour and quick service. Their menu is super delicious...food is simple, fresh and presented well... From a coffee on the run (Soy latte, double shot) to Sunday brunch with your family or friends (poached eggs, avocado and an amazing smoothie with chia seeds!!!) This is coffee heaven and the owners should be proud of creating such an amazing local space!!!
Great coffee, lovely spot, above average food but slow service. Limited options in the local area means this cafe could easily be the standout but painfully slow service really holds the place back. The menu has a great range of meals that are all tasty. Staff are delightfully friendly but it seems they’re just short a chef in the kitchen. Popularity on the weekends amongst locals only adds to the wait time unfortunately. Would be head a shoulders above the competition if they could hire another cook.
Overpriced little place. But the worst is the attitude of those working there. The woman at the cashier is ALWAYS in a bad mood, looks like she is doing you a favor in taking your MONEY. Still, if you want to take a chance, I'll give you a tip. Go with a beautiful woman, because if she smiles and talks happily to the guy making coffee you don't have to wait 10 minutes for your daily dose of caffeine. He just skip the line and gives you your coffee. I will never step in that place again!
We would be here a lot more often it weren't for the Mother who handles the cashier and sometimes takes orders! Seriously dont be at the cafe if u treat n greet your customers with a grumpy sulky face and offer 0 customer service! The father who handles the kitchen is such a lovely man but you don't see him as much. Rest of staff are friendly.. long wait times yes but food is really nice! But we no longer bother going and rather not be made to feel we owe this lady money or something!
The food is good, the service is good not excellent but I don’t expect better anyway as long as they are respectful is enough for me. Easy to park I would have given five star rating if they had hand wash soap in their bathroom which means all the employees and myself couldn’t wash our hands after we used the facility. Not that it was out of soup but there was no Dispenser to even fill up. SHOCKING

Average cafe. Food is of a pretty poor standard and expensive. Full of flies. Took about 45 mins to receive my food. Ordered the falafel bowl and my father ordered the chicken burger. Falafel was like sand it was so dry, and the chicken burger was almost its equal. Came here a few times, each time hoping it would be better. Always disappointed. Surprised this place is so busy, think it’s an example of a lack of choice in the area rather than a vote of confidence in the food.
This cafe was such a treat this morning, as we just popped in, not having been before. The service was outstanding, as was their menu. They offer a unique breakfast menu, and were happy to offer gluten free alternatives. The coffee is excellent. We look forward to coming back soon

10/10 experience! As soon as we entered the lane, we could smell the tantalising smell of bacon wafting out of the kitchen. We were greeted with a big smile and friendly chit chat. The cafe was absolutely bustling. I ordered the the Spanish bull with crispy kale and my partner ordered the honeycomb waffles. Both were generously portioned and imacculately presented. Delicious. Needless to say we will be back. They forgot our water though.
A bit tucked away but well worth finding! Sensational food, especially the Lebanese breakfast options, of which there are many. The smoothies are also excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. High recommend.

Great veg options, the Beirut Breakfast was excellent.
Came here for a meal and ended up waiting half an hour for our orders to be taken, only to then wait another hour for our food to arrive.. Other customers that arrived after us received their meals before us. Very disappointing. For the price of the food I expect better service. When the food arrived both mine & my partners were dry & bland, our sweet potato fries had barely any sauce either. Very disappointed.
My girlfriend and I ordered a piece of toast and a hot chocolate each, we waited for about half an hour all the while take away customers were walking out with coffees and bags of food, cyclists and whole tables were served before us. The tables were dirty and the whole atmosphere was noisy, my partner and I just ended up walking away. There was a very low chance our order was actually taken and prepared.
Ordered 2 $8 ice coffees, came in hot coffee cups filled mostly with whipped cream, enough coffee in them for maybe 2 mouth fulls. The rip off would be less noticeable if they came with straws because it was impossible to drink them through all the whipped cream in the cup. The food here is edible though so that's a plus. I recommend getting your staff to try drink the ice coffees you are sending out
The food and coffee was great! Had a lovely lady serve us and she was very helpful. Coffee came out quickly however the food took quite a while to come out. Asked the waiter and he said they were very busy in the kitchen however people that arrived after got their food before we did. All up good food and service could just have been a busy day in the kitchen. Would come back next time for sure!
Unfortunately, one of the worst breakfast I’ve had in a long time. So bad I was unable to finish it. There was so much “salsa” which tasted like tomato sauce on my dish that the bread was wet and soggy and it’s all I could taste. The eggs were the most exciting part of my meal. Coffee was incredibly weak and I was unable to finish it as well. Not sure I’d return or recommend you to either.
The coffee ☕️ is excellent. But Patrick’s Bloody Mary is to die for!

They usually make OK coffee... very average, but today was terrible! Like I am not being a snobby ass, it was legit disgusting. Even my pod drinking mate thought his cap tasted awful! Don't know if they changed beans or had a new barista on, but regardless of how busy you are, you can't serve coffee this bad (tasted like service station coffee)!

Just came out from the cafe, hated it. The staff was arrogant and disrespectful. Ordered coffee and breakfast, waited an hour for just our coffees and after our coffees came we were told that our orders werent even recieved. Didnt even get an appology after we comfronted them. Dont support a cafe with such arrogant environment.
This little bustling gem is hidden at the back of shops. This cafe is happening and has quite interesting menu. Our food was served hot which I like. What amuses me was the drinking water dispenser!!! You can park at St Ives shopping centre and walk over if the parking is full. Highly recommended venue. More
Pains me to leave this review but I feel Stanley Street Cafe has lost its edge. I love that it's family run and the family seems lovely, however the value for money is not there anymore and the wait for food is too long. Hope to see it improve as it really was my favourite spot in St. Ives
Great coffee and food! Friendly staff. Service is generally good but can be very very slow when it’s busy. It seems like either my coffee order or my food order falls in a black hole. I’ve learned to speak up rather than keep hoping. But this doesn’t keep me away. The coffee’s too good!
This has to be one of the best cafes I have been to. A funky café with great vibes, tunes and food. I visit this café frequently as it has the best food, coffee and most of all friendly personalised service! It is definitely a hidden gem and one that needs to be experienced.
I have brought my father in to this wonderful cafe every wednesday or so for the last year....always kind and polite and great food.....thank you....he is now in a nursing home so we will both miss wednesdays at stanley street.....thanks guys!! all the best for the future

We had wonderful breakfast. The coffee is the best in town. However the music is too loud. Luckily the waiter turned it down after we complained. I heard a couple who came and left without ordering food saying they hated the music playing then.

Met here today for a quick catch up that ended up being 2.5 hours. We both had a delicious lunch from the Lunch Bowls menu. Perfect size, fresh and tasty combination of goodies. And the best peppermint tea I have ever had! We will be back!
Never been so humleated in my life , for forgetting my Purse , I live 2 min from Stanley st cafe . Lucky had some money in the car to pay the bill ! The last bill I’m ever paying this place! Such a shame , we were very loyal customers ..
This place is my “no idea what I want to eat” day go-to because nothing disappoints here. Decent price and satisfying portion, delicious food and great atmosphere! Parking can be a little bit full but there’s generally a spot somewhere.
Waited over 20 mins for two pieces of toast, when we said we couldn’t wait any more and needed to leave, we were shouted at by the owner for “disrespecting him”. Very quick to become aggressive, clearly no idea about customer service!
Great hidden gem coffee shop in St Ives. Went to Church point, West Head and Akuna Bay. Stopped here in the way back for a quick lunch. The food was great and very tasty. Coffee was great as well. Worth coming here is you have time.

Great, popular place for a bite to eat. A variety of different dishes and the 3 different meals 4 of us ordered looked and tasted excellent. Delicious coffee. Friendly staff. On site parking available for 1 hour.
Our favourite cafe in all St Ives. Patrick and the family are welcoming, lively and always go out of their way to provide the best possible service. Without doubt the best coffee and food in St Ives.
We visit annually from BrisVegas. The SStCafe remember us. And our Jack Russell. The coffee is smooth. The inhouse baked muffins with hint of Coconut are delicious. As I said: we always come back!!
Best coffee on the north shore. Great vibe and exceptionally friendly staff. They remember how you like your coffee and always make you feel welcome. Finally a melbourne quality Cafe in st ives.
Good coffee, tasty brekky stack, friendly wait staff. Food took a while to come to the table but it was peak of Sunday morning and we did have a table of seven so understandable. Will be back!
This place is a real let down because of the attitude of the owner staff. Great coffee and reasonable food. The atmosphere is a real bummer, the staff walk around with no energy or enthusiasm.
