I was recently in staples trying to get some stickers printed. I went to the "printing and marketing" desk where 2 different employees had very little information for me. I had with me a USB flash drive with the 13 images i wanted printed on the stickers. I found sticky printing paper and was trying to understand what the process was to get this done. One of the original employees who was helping me went and got an older gentlemen to come out. I explained to him that I had digitally created these images and needed them on some stickers for labelling of products i have created. This man told me I needed to be "more creative" and that "staples was just small time and if you want something like that done you need to think outside the box". He then went on assuming I was trying to start a company and told me I needed to go back and do more research and that I needed to again be "more creative". I told the man that I had created these images from scratch and creativity was not my issue, I just want some stickers printed. He was very rude and went out of his to try and preach to me. It was very unprofessional, rude and I was not happy. He kept saying I need to be more creative, is this a policy of staples? telling customers they need to be more creative when I was in your establishment just trying to get things printed for you "PRINTING AND MARKETING" desk? I asked the man if there was someone else I could speak with and he told me to calm down. He said I had raised my voice and he kept telling me i need to calm down. I assure you I was very calm but at this point also very embarrassed that this man is telling me to calm down in front of other customers and staff. He belittled me and treated me like a child. He was very condescending, so much so that i went home and took the time to write this email. So, is it staples policy to treat customers this way and is it impossible for staples to print stickers even though you sell the paper? I most definitely will be taking my business elsewhere from this point forward and I wouldnt be surprised if other customers followed suit after being treated the way I was treated. I would very much like to know what will be done about this situation and what will happen to the man that thinks its okay to treat people this way. At the end of the day I spoke with 4 different staples employees (1 over the phone) from the "Printing and marketing" desk and ALL 4 PEOPLE WERE UNABLE TO GIVE ME ANY SORT OF INFORMATION. ZERO. What is the printing and marketing desk and why are there so many unqualified employees with so little information? I am so shocked at your employees behaviour I most certainly will take my story to social media if nothing is done to correct this abhorrent customer service.
Avoid Joe, the supervisor at all costs if you go to this store. He does not know the store, does not know the products and does not know Staples`warranty programs. Furthermore, he just stands around talking to the employees, doing everything to avoid dealing with a customer. I bought a Samsung tablet at this store with an Easycare Service Plan. I brought the non-working tablet along with the receipt as it is still on warranty. Joe gave me wrong information about the plan 4 times in a row, I had to make 3 trips to the store and then finally got a credit by phoning the warranty program. He told me the Easycare hours are from 9 - 3 p.m. In fact, the hours are from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. He said it cannot be used as an in-store credit when it fact, it can. He was trying to rip the back of the tablet off to look for the serial number until I stopped him. He would have damaged the tablet when in fact the serial number is on the back in plain view. He also told me the Google Home products are quarantined and not available for sale (what are they infected??). I will no longer buy electronics at this store - they will do everything possible to avoid honoring the warranty, the supervisor has zero customer relation skills and they make you go to the store 3 times instead of doing it right the first time. There are some good employees at this store and I feel sorry for them as they have to deal with this supervisor everyday. I will be shopping at a different Staples until this "supervisor" gets trained or quits.
I would give Staples zero stars if I could. They should find another name for the "Business Centre," because the staff are certainly not trained to deal with Business clients. My printer at home died and I had to print a document at the last minute. Had some issues printing. Asked for some help - eye roll. Impatient. All the while I am being billed the 30c/minute. Told them the error message I was getting - print job was cancelled. Was told that it was because the document was in One Drive. Huh? Emailed it to them - they don't have One Drive. Tried to print on my own again - same error message. All the while, getting billed 30c/minute. Little box finally pops up - Printers are offline. No one knows why it is offline or how to bring it back online. Told to perhaps try the public library...at 8:50pm! I can appreciate that it is late, and everyone wants to leave on time. But Staples needs to step it up. I keep going back, time after time, giving them chance after chance - perhaps it was an off day, maybe a tough environment, not enough support - but the service here is consistently terrible, rude and unprofessional. Done.
Ran in at lunch today to pick up stamps. The lady at the cash did not have enough books and had to call the print centre to replenish her stock. Her request for assistance was ignored by the print centre associate. We stepped aside so she could ring in other customers to not have to make them wait any longer than need be. Three customers were rang through before we went over to ask if we could bring the stamps over. The associate said curtly that she would be over with the stamps. We waited another three customers before the associate stormed over with the stamps and rudely said something about people expecting her to drop what she is doing and bring stamps over right away. We waited almost 20 minutes while she was ignoring the cashier's request for stamps and not taking our time into consideration. I understand this is a stressful time for everyone but I expect some level of customer service and professionalism. The way she spoke to the cashier and her customers was out of line. I will reconsider shopping here in the future.
We have been using their service for 9 years. Had the worst experience last Friday night around 7:30 PM. There was only one cashier there. He is not familiar with his job, not patient and not polite at all. My wife asked for teacher's discount (she brought her teacher's ID). He said no, there is no such discount. We told him we have received email. He took a look at the email and told us it doesn't work...Finally he called someone and figured out how to do it. When we took out a gift card, he got more annoyed. He told us the card doesn't work (actually he should set the amount to gift card value and we pay extra with credit card). Anyway, he doesn't know how to do it or doesn't want to do it. My wife got stressed by his tone and expressions, and paid with credit card. What made it even worse? I think I heard the old white guy behind us were swearing at us and his daughter asked him to stop. When I turned around and stared at him, he didn't say anything and smiled. What did we do wrong?
I always have great experience at this location except for today Nov-11-2021. This is a complaint against Rishi at Staples Signal Hill, Calgary (Staples 110). I was lining up behind shipping line waiting for my turn when Rishi came and instructed to me line up behind the print services to which I did. He then proceeded to help customers before me (which is ok) but did something else in the print section while I was waiting in line. When another person lined up in the shipping services Rishi immediately helped him. I told Rishi that I was there before that customer and I am also shipping a courier not needing a print service. Rishi ignored me and continued helping the other customer. I wasted less than half an hour being insulted in line. I did not receive the help I need until Jacques came and helped me. Jacques is very professional. I am not sure if Rishi discriminated me or just customer service incompetent -- either way he is not up to Staples customer service standard!
I would like to give this Staples a 0 star ! They are rude, not helpful! The management there is awful! Treated like garbage both times I have been there. The manager turned her back on me when I asked her a question and if I could return an item. She should seriously consider a different position and job. Today I ordered a printer and sent someone there with the receipt and credit card used to purchase the printer to pick it up and they would not let him take it for me after I gave my consent, a different manager rude on the phone this time. Now I have to drive across the city. I wish I could cancel my purchase! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I will stick with the 9th Avenue location and never venture to this one again! HORRIBLE!!!!!
Great store. Prices can vary from an amazing deal to regular prices. I was there two days ago around 11am bought several things for a new home office. Was there for an hour. When I finally found a person to help me,he did not sell me the thing I needed to go with my purchase but the wrong thing. As I kept shopping I asked another about a fax machine he simply said we don't sell them in the store and walked away. There were only 5 customers in the store. Could it have been a bad day, I don't know. But zero customer service is not acceptable to me. I always give honest reviews but this time I needed to speak up. The other thing I didn't like was that staff didn't wear masks or clean after each customer went to the cashier.
Came in last night, was there about 35 minutes looking for a new office chair and desk. One person came, got a price for me then took off. Came in this morning. Said good morning to gentleman at first till, no response. Went to look at chairs and desks again. Set timer on my phone. Not one person came to offer me assistance in 30 minutes. Walked to front, 3 guys standing there not looking busy at all. Let one guy know how long I've been waiting. An apology was offered but then didn't even say he was available now or anything to help when I allowed for an opportunity for said offer which just turned into an awkward silence. So I just left. Will not return. Would rather drive further for better costumer service.
Appauling customer service! If you are a Mount Royal Student, this is not the place to come for printing or any other service. The printing services at the university are far more helpful. Considering what staples sells and is not a niche market, they really have to work on their customer service. I came in for printing on Dec. 3rd in the morning and have never dealt with a ruder store associate in my life. For that I and my group are turned off staples for life. I can buy school supplies and print my stuff in other places. Thankfully the printing services at the university was able to successfully help me print and bind my project.
The staff lady working behind the counter at the printing station was quite annoyed at a fellow customer as both they and I asked questions regarding operating the copiers-her tone of voice revealed- she really shouldn't assume that customers know exactly what to do and when she said just follow the instructions on the plaquard, I piped up and announced that the instructions are incomplete ma'am, only then did she attend to the customer commenting about covid and could she please step 6feet away while she helped the woman, after touching all the buttons and screen, she did not wipe the machine before or after helping her
Horrific service!! I found some HP ink for $15 less on a competitor's website. I then tried to return the ink I had already bought and it has now taken over a month and still no refund. I've gone into the store, followed up three times on the phone to the online department and still no refund. I've been spoken to by extremely rude staff but have maintained my politeness in dealing with the Staples staff. They're just rude and condescending. This is absolutely some of the worst customer service I've experienced. I was a pretty regular Staples customer before but no more. I will no longer shop at this store period.
I was printing 9 sheets but the printer was unable to print 2 of the last 11x17 pages since the machine could not read the images. I had a meeting in 30 minutes, which I explained to the employee, but the employee did not help me and told me I had to make the order first and pick it up hours later. I explained again that I needed to print just two images for a meeting that was in 30 minutes but the employee still refused to help. I have been to other Staples for printing and have never run into this problem. I had a problem in the meeting this morning.
I went in to get some bluetooth ear buds that, online said they carried them. I was having difficulty finding them so I had asked a staff member if he could help me find them. He told me he was busy but said he would be back in a moment, when he was done. I waited 20 min. And saw that staff member go off and start joking with a co-worker, So I asked if he was able to help me locate the item, and he simply said "no" so I left. I will never go back to that store again. They just dobt care about customers at all.
The real rate from me is 10 stars out of 5. I've bought HP printer there and after about a month it's got paper jamed that turned out to be a big mechanical problem. I grabbed the device and the receipt and went to the store for help. Despite of having some bureaucracy reasons to make the process of returning or replacing the unit for me very painful, customer service turned their human face at me and replaced my printer with the new one no problem. Kudos to the floor manager named Rishi, if I'm not mistaken.
Bought a printer took it home unpackaged and threw out box as didn't think I would have a problem. 2 weeks later printer stopped working so decided to return it as it was $300. Went to store manager took at least 30 minutes to retest it for me and then said well you can't return without a box. I will continue to make my purchases across the street at Best Buy as they would help me. In fact still helped me out with a new one after told them my experience at Staples
I like the concept of one stop shopping and Staples provides that. I have been to a number of print shops over the past 2 years but my experiences recently at Staples have been terrific! For me, it is the people/employees that makes it so special. They are friendly, professional and knowledgeable! Olivia assisted me on my last print marketing order and although this order was small, she went out of her way to make it pitch perfect! Thank you Olivia!!
Our go-to Staples store in Calgary. There's plenty of parking and the store is nice and spacious. Staff are friendly and kind. It is easy to find a staff member to ask for help or answers. Have ordered online for free shipping to store. Have never had issued and there's always someone nearby to fulfill online orders. Also, staff actually check in to see if you have been helped while you have been helped already! Really awesome crew at this Staples.
Bad business practice. Returned a network card that was unopened. They don't trust their customers so they still open the package. They lose money instantly doing this and it's insulting to the customer. The clerk even needed me to hand over my debit card as me simply stating that it was the same card was not reliable enough for the employee and they had to manually check it. I feel that this is rude and I will simply take my business elsewhere.
Supervisor Rishi greeted us and helped us right away. Answered all our questions about having my wife's laptop repaired plus explained what will happen if it does not work. Good thing we bought the easy care package repair and extended warranty or else our money on the laptop will just go down the drain. He also advised us to get an external hard drive to save our documents in case we need our documents from our laptop. Thank you Rishi!
I had a presentation with my product the day after placing my print order, and I knew that I likely would not be able to recieve it until it was too late. I stopped by the printing services to see what could be done and was greeted by Dan, who was incredibly helpful and was able to get my documents printed before the store closed. He saved my presentation and was kind and professional every step of the way! Awesome experience !!
This place has the worst management, they were trying to over charge me for passport pictures $123 for me and my son , when I asked to discuss this rate why is it higher than other places, the manager didn't have any answers except "take it or leave it" You can get pictures done for quarter of this rate, don't go to staples for pictures especially the one in signal hills where you can meet rude and ignorant manager.
Do your homework first. I was looking for a way to connect my works projector to my phone. Same projector they sell. No one offered the best solution of wifi adapter. Because they did not know anything about it. If it's for something easy like where's the paper?, They got you covered in spades. But to have the wifi adapter with the projectors? Would make too much sense. And they nor Best buy have them??? Why not?
Not my go to staples. Requested my order to be canceled because it wasn't ready (which was fine, I just couldn't hang out any longer. My fault for being there early) and it probably took longer to get the refund done then it would have to just print off the 10 pages. The cashier was friendly enough but pretty short with me. I'll stick to shawnessy staples. Super friendly, super fast.
I called the signal hill staples location for some questions I had with printing an item. Elizabeth from printing was happy to help me out, she was extremely courteous with giving me instructions on how I can get my item on time. It’s wonderful to actually feel the sincerity over a phone call with an associate. I have always had fantastic service at this location, keep it up guys!
I am a Retail Shopper. It seems that co. want to sell most of their products online, which I don't like. I want to see products live, & be able to see the Size, feel the Material, see the Color, maybe slightly Test them. I used to find that Grand & Toy carried in stock, more non-standard items, than Staples. Staples sticks to Basic products, & I cannot always $ buy what I want.
I was there to send a fax and was one guy Ammar doesn’t want to help me I told him it’s first time for me and he was very rude saying the instructions is there I went to another cashier same answer Very rude from them in special when they are Not Busy how much spend to help me? One minute? Shame for staples hiring those people they don’t know nothing about customer service
Romauld in the solutionshop is amazing! We came in with a last minute banner order, not only did he get it done for us right then and there, he helped us with resizing our image and getting everything together smoothly. The store was super busy and they were short staffed but they handled everything super professionally and quickly! I will definitely be coming back here!
The staff at Signal Hill at the online pickup knows nothing next to customer service. I walked up, said hello and without even a response or acknowledging my presence left the station to arrange merchandise. I tried to state my displeasure to another staff-Hayden that came after 10 mins to attend to me but he totally ignored me as well and proceeded just to get my item.
A good store to find your office supplies and school things. Staff are friendly and helpful. It has lots of parking space. So close to Memorial drive and 14 St NW. So far Staples has helped me alot with my business card design, stamps, and many more. Their price are affordable, and the quality is great. Definitely will come back to do more of my projects.
Purchased a printer. The checkout person offered to sell me a replacement warrenty. I purchased this warrenty and when I went to register over the phone alot of the information I was given in the store was not accurate. Suggest they ensure their casheirs that up sell the warranties and products are trained to communicate accurate information.
I could not get my Targus numeric pad to work and nor could Dell on- line(2 hours) or Targus help desk. I went staples in Signal Hill and spoke to Romuald Picard. Within minutes he changed some settings on my PC and it all worked. Great service by Romuald, very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s all a matter of speaking to the experts. Thanks
I was having a hard time getting a file to print properly, and was nearly in tears, as I needed it for the early morning next day. A kind patient employee named Brendan helped me, and was able to print the file successfully. I really appreciated his help, and highly recommend him both for his expertise and his empathy. I needed to print one page. Three different people asked me what I needed, three different people told me to wait for a customer (who took ten minutes) to finish. When they were finally done the person behind the desk decided THAT was the time to tell me to use the printer. Why did NO ONE ELSE tell me that sooner? Waste of time.
Dan from the print department was awesome! Took a huge printing job an hour before closing on a Saturday. Worked past closing time and was outside with the job done when I pulled in front of the store. He kept me updated over the phone through out the process. Gem of a guy and wants to serve his clients. Keep him well Staples!
OUTSTANDING service! Jeremy (manager) was responsive and adaptive in allowing me to complete an order over the phone as online wasn't processing. Irene was beyond helpful and detailed in properly completing my order zipping through the store to locate my items. THIS is what exceptional customer service SHOULD look like!
Went here in the evening to make an exchange. Even though it had been more than a month, the manager was willing to do that. Was with a disabled friend who need a mouse more suitably sized for his hand. The wide open aisles were easy to navigate for a power chair. The manager and staff were most accommodating.
They don't offer a price match on their own items for some reason? If the price is lower online the manger did not agree to price match the item due to policy. Also there is lack of signs for prices in the store. Overall there is mixed messages with prices being different online, in store and in the flyer.
Disappointing that they couldn't actually do what is stated on their website. Even when I called to ensure that they could do Australian passport photos. Print and copy center staff were not helpful at all and quite rude. Go to Calgary Cust Photo Center in North Hill Mall, way better service and staff!
Great location in Westhill, always has what I want in stock. This location is clean and well organized and the customer staff is quite friendly and always helps me out however I'm disappointed in the washroom, kind of dirty and rundown. Overall 4 star experience just don't use the washroom here!
Ordered curb side pickup and it’s a big mistake, they email you and confirm and you show up and they say there’s no order. The website is terrible as well. They give you some 1-800 number at the store and send you’ve made a purchase and received nothing and treat you like a liar.
Had such a great experience at this Staples this week. Avery was very friendly and helped me to find exactly what I wanted, she even went into the back room to find additional items for me when the floor model was a little scuffed up. Also had a great checkout experience! Thanks
Was hoping to get some help with printing services and they could not help as they were backed up. Never asked for this help before as I do all my business needs there but they wouldn't consider it. Unfortune that there are no other options for office supply stores in Calgary.
I've been coming to this Staples for a long time and I can always find what I need pretty easily. Location is quite big for a downtown location. I've also sent a couple of faxes, got laminations and shipped some Purolator packages easily. Fax is extremely expensive though.
Wow spent 25 minuets looking for help. Walked around the whole store 4 to 5 times. Saw one employee frantically helping as many people as he could but being back to school and a packed store you’d think there would be more people working the floor trying to help customers.
Was running errands when I needed a form printed. Didn’t have time to run home, so stopped here to try their printing services for the first time. Super easy to use the machines! It cost $0.16/page if printing in black/white, and I believe $0.50/page for colour printing.
Good store with good layout. I was looking for a home router ... found a few good ones, both on sale. The Associate knew the details that made each product unique, helping me find the product that suits me best. Definitely recommend here for electronics in Signal Hill
Solid selection of electronics, and office supplies. The print shop and shipping areas are also a positive. On the negative side, this location really need to improve on the cash out/return side of things. Always a pain to return anything (with or without) receipt.
Incredibly impressed with the team here! Rom and the team he worked with today were incredibly helpful and made sure that we got all the help we needed doing an exchange and purchasing a better printer. Honestly the BEST experience I've had at any Staples ever.
I came here for help with printing job. The staff was honestly so helpful and pleasant to deal with. The printing centre has all the equipment you should need to get your printing done and if you have any questions they have plenty of staff to help you out.
Walked in to get passport photos for myself and my 3 year old. The lady helping us was friendly, and kept taking photos til she got the perfect shot of my son. She was patient and efficient. The whole thing was easy and only took 20mins.

RJ in printing is just so amazing, friendly, and SO efficient! Every time I come to do printing (which is very often for my buisness) I always wait or try to get him as much as possible when I come in - this guy deserves a raise!
i don’t really write reviews but WOW, that steve guy GOTTA GO. imagine asking for help & not only do you get yelled at but the employee gets yelled at ? what is that ?? horrible customer service. how does he still have his job ?

Not sure what was happening in the printing Department... Seems to be everyone left one girl all alone. There's four of them when I arrived.... It's 4:30 so would have thought they would have had full staff at this time.

Excellent Staples store with helpful and friendly staff, I was easily able to find the booklet I was looking for. Definitely great options and they even have lots of PC options for the computer too. Really nice.
Never had any problems here. Staff are always friendly. The print center is especially helpful and if there are any mistakes they always correct them promptly. This is a great place to get things laminated!
Convenient location, not typically very busy, and I personally have not had any issues with staff. They've always been willing to help, even if it's something as menial as helping you choose coloured pens.
Carmel went out of her way to do my print job. She ran some proofs. Clearly set my expectations about when the order would be ready. On line ordering system for printing services is very intuitive.
I was visiting this staples location last week and received particularly good service from a girl named Irene. Her customer service is top notch and many other people should use her as an example.

It's kinda good for office supplies. But the staff are usually clueless when you ask for help with anything. Shopping online is usually best except you can't use gift cards online

I used the DHL service from here I have yet to hear back about my refund. My belongings got stolen from DHL that they promote. I want my refund and insurance that I paid.
Staples is collecting information that violates FOIP knowingly. I have cancelled my membership and I suggest you do the same before more people are stolen from
After experiencing bad customer service in a Staples in Toronto, I can say this Staples is incredible. Spacious, not crowded and very nice and friendly staff.
Don’t answer their phones, showed up to inquire to incredibly rude and not helpful employees… services offered are not accurate on their website…
