This place is weird. Firstly food - it was alright, nothing really special, rather good shashlik, not so great buckwheat porridge, good beer. Portions were reasonable, prices bit too high for this quality. The interior I didn't like, already the entrance stairs looked very untidy and the inside wasn't cozy or good looking at all, really outdated design. The allegedly 2022 best interior award which this place got according to website sounds like some kind of joke. Service was nice and friendly, can't complain here. But the fun part are reviews comments and how they can't deal with any kind of criticism. Most of 3 and below reviews here are commented in ridiculous manner. For example reply for my girlfriends 3 stars review which was very neutral and not offensive was that: we live in Bamberg and we have bad beer here, their beer is better, our beer is not even beer, we don't know what tandoor true food taste like because no German restaurant has tandoor, so we cannot judge their food What kind of answer is that? Criticising our beer because we criticise your food? That's just unprofessional and childish. I don't care if my shashlik is made in tandoor according to some true ancestor recipe or it is grilled on a volcano or just simple grill, all I care is if I get good quality food that taste good. In Bamberg (you remember, this place with bad beer) I know at least 2 restaurants where they serve much better shashlik and they don't have to brag about fancy way they prepare it, the taste is enough. And those places deserve 4 and more stars, this place deserves barely 3 stars. I wonder by the way how many of these 5 stars reviews are just russian payed bots.. So dear PR person/kid, you have a lot to learn. If not you and your rude reply I wouldn't write here at all, great job How about instead of spending time researching your reviewers whereabouts you invest this time into improving your restaurant? I do not recommend and won't come back. Update: For me your restaurant is mediocre. This experience was mediocre (well including this discussion here it is more bad experience). Mediocre doesn't mean "same as everywhere else", it means: not bad but not great, not horrible but far from amazing, not 1 but definitely not 5. And yes this is ofcourse subjective opinion, all Google or TripAdvisor reviews are subjective. You can acknowledge them, maybe try to improve things that people complain about or just stick blindly with good ones and ignore all bad ones.

Rather average experience - decoration, atmosphere and what most important, food-wise. Portions are okay, prices too high and taste far from 4,7 star. Update: I'm rather baffled by the answer and cannot understand what the "investigation" of where I'm from or where I go have anything in common with the subject? Same like presumption regarding the beer preference which I didn't complain about. I have no problem paying good money even for fine dining when the food quality and taste is there. Even while trying something for the first I can judge if the ingredients have been treated and seasoned properly or not. In this case I stand by review the food was very average and therefore based on location of restaurant, its standard and variety of other good restaurants in Karlovy Vary, the price was much too high. Checking now some other reviews from last weeks and the shocking way they were responded to, I strongly regret I haven't noticed them before.

I am editing my review from 3 stars and giving this place 1 star because the response from the owner is nothing that I’ve ever experienced before. The amount of hatred, disrespect, degradation, and discrimination is unacceptable and unbelievable. As a matter of fact, every review that isn’t a positive one, gets the same long and atrociously disgraceful response. That’s not the way to treat your customers. I still stand by the fact that food is mediocre and service is extremely rude. The place is outdated, dark, and not inviting just like people who operate it. If they can’t take criticism with grace, then they shouldn’t be in hospitality business. Period. P.S. I will gladly take the money that I spent back and take it elsewhere. We've decided to visit this place again after 5 years. And we couldn't be happier with choice of the restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked and overall the food smells so nice throughout the whole restaurant. Not to forget, the drinks were really tasty too! And apparently home-made. The staff was really nice, our orders were delivered fast, definitely one of the best (maybe the best) restaurant staff I've ever come across. Overall I'd recommend you trying this place out, I'm sure you'll love it just as much as we do.

Absolutní katastrofa. Nerozumím dobrým recenzím. Na jídlo jsme čekali 90 minut a byli jsme masivně zklamáni malými porcemi. Někdy bylo doručeno špatné jídlo. Surprisingly enough, not exploring much of great places in Karlovy Vary. Keep on coming every evening to the one I found just in the vicinity of downtown, Staroslovanska Kuchyne by Moskovska str.. It has it all I look for a restful dinner on my holiday. - wifi, quiet halls, ain't pricy, friendly personnel, and delicious homelike slavic selection of dishes. I checked already soups, pancakes, salads, and a highlighted crispy barley bread yum!. I guess people come here more for meat options which must be good given stone oven way of preparing but that for me ahead to try. Cool to hear the sounds of old Russian pop songs which my parents were fans of in their youth time lol, love it :D In a nutshell, resonated to my Slavic soul, top quality service, reasonably priced, highly recommend. Ve čtvrtek 9.3. jsme s rodinou slavili narozeniny v tomto podniku a byli jsme velmi mile překvapeni. I přestože tam z obsluhy byl 1 Barman/číšník Roman, byl velmi šikovný mimochodem, tak stíhal úplně všechno. Sice za šašlik na uhlích si trochu připlatíte, ale za to dostanete obrovskou porci, kde k masu ještě jdou opečené brambory a salátek, ze které se určitě najíte (Chačapuri Adžaruli taky výborné, hodně sýra a nezapečený do toho žloutek) ;). Příjemný interiér dělal útulnou atmosféru, skvělá, rychlá, vtipkujicí obsluha tomu napomáhala , dobré kraftové pivo z vlastního pivovárku byla takovou třešničkou na dortu k výše uvedenému … no jestli budete v Karlových Varech - určitě tento podnik stojí za navštívení.

Myslim, že hodnoceni a očekávání poněkud předčí realitu. Jde o restauraci ve sklepě, bez vyhledu, stisněná. Vstup přímo vyděsí! Jídlo dobré a obsluha velmi příjemná. Jen ceny by měly být poloviční. Znovu tam určitě nepůjdeme. PS: Pokud je příprava špízu tak náročná, je nedostatečně hostům prezentována. Pokud ke stolu nejdu kolem pece, nevidím do kuchyně, nemohu zhodnotit pracnost a originalitu. Popis v menu nestačí, papír snese všechno. Je to stejne jako prodávat pravé aljašské lososy a účtovat čtyřnásobek. Nikdo nepozná rozdíl s tím z chilských sádek. Abychom si rozumněli, s jídlem spokojenost, za návštěvu podnik jistě stojí, ale pro jednou nám to skutečně stačilo. I vzhledem ke kvalitě konkurence, dosazitelne chuzí do dvou minut.

We had borsch and buckwheat groats, then a beef schaschlik and pelmeni with a deef-filling and excellent home-brewed beer. Definitely get at least one beer: refreshing and prepares the palate for food. Borsch came with super yummy barley bread and thinly sliced smoked lard. Soak the lard in the hot soup and eat it when it's became transparent with chunks of garlic and/or onions, just writing this makes me hungry again... I never tried buckwheat groats before but this one I thought was excellent: not too grueley, not too dry, just right and well-seasoned. We already know schaschlik and pelmeni before and these did not disappoint, yummy!

We wanted to go to another place but they were full so we decided to go to Staroslovanska kuchyne. The food was ok, maybe little pricey for what it was. You can definitely get cheaper meals in the other restaurants in the same area. As for the looks of food, you can see it on the pictures. Otherwise they have their own beer which is 14 Degrees strong and tastes all right. When we entered the restaurant the smell of charcoal wood was very nice. What I find strange is that the restaurant has quite strong opinions on the google reviews they don’t like. Instead of taking the feedback they reply to everything which is not a 5 star review.

The food was fresh and tasteful. Definitely a good deal for Karlovy Vary. The interior design might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I liked it, kinda reminds me of the places I used to visit back in my childhood. The menu has something to offer for every taste. Highly recommend the mushroom soup, it was cooked from the scratch, and extremely flavourful. The Šašlik was juicy, and it might have been the first time that I actually liked buckwheat. The portion looked small to eyes at first, but it was very filling at the end.

We have stayed in Karlovy Vary for 2 weeks and we have been to this fine restaurant three times! The owner cares about every little detail: food is exceptionally tasty, beer is outstanding (try light and then dark ;) they have their own brewery and you will not find beer like this anywhere else in town. Meat is prepared on open fire in a special oven with oak used as wood. Decor and music (if you eat inside) is hand picked and reminds me of fine restaurants in Russia. Service is very attentive and prices are very reasonable. Best of luck with your restaurant and we will be back next year!

We were looking for some traditional Czech dinner - and we found it here. We had some delicious Gulasch and Veil Schaschlik, also the side salad tasted really good. So if you are interested in some basic, but tasty dishes, and good service by a dedicated waiter - go for this place ☺️

Nechal jsem vám dýško "jenom" 100 Kč a to proto, že vše nebylo podle představ. Díky za soucit s mou chudobou, ale věřte, že si mohu dovolit i ty nejdražší resturace a mnohem lepší, než je ta vaše, přestože možná tak nevypadám. Ve všech restauracích nechávám minimálně 10% a víc a teď jsem vlastně rád, že jsem vám nenechal víc, protože si to nezasloužíte. Jste neskutečně arogantní. Už nikdy víc a nikomu vás nedoporučím. Češi, běžte raději jinam a podporujte české podniky, tady je to katastrofa.

The restaurant serves substantial, simple food to satisfy Russian customer. Here we see our beloved Korean salad with carrots, porridges and grill meat in different variation. It tastes ok, but not asking to come back for more. Interiors looks tacky with pink walls, polished wood, fake crystals on the lamps and fake stones on the walls. Music follows the decorations. Fine 90s Russian pop. Augitin and co sings while a few customers are trying to get thru their big beers, which for me were the highlight of this place.

První chod dorazil právě ve chvíli, kdy mě začal zlobit žaludek. Druhý chod byl podáván s perfektním množstvím času mezi nimi. Nikam nespěchali, aby nás vytlačili. Maso se odlouplo od kosti vidličkou a téměř se mi rozpustilo v ústech. Doporučil bych každému.

I like the place. The staff is very polite and cheerful. They speak czech, english and russian I especially like the borsch and their dark beer. I didn’t like the Schaschlik, I tried veal, venison, chicken and pork schaschlik. Veal and venison were tough. Chicken was a bit tasteless if you eat it without sauce. Pork was ok. Bread was a bit dry. You can pay by card. Our bill was ~45euro and ~50euro

Ceny odpovídají práci za ním a tomu, co jíte, porce jsou správné, ani prílis mnoho, ani prílis málo (kromé chuti, zaludek). Vynikajici vinny listek, ktery se pohybuje pro kazdy vkus a kazdou kapsu, je opravdu úzasné maso. Urcite se vrátím, vrele doporucuii.

We stopped here on a whim because the picture of meat skewer by the fire looked appetizing. It turned out to be an excellent idea. The service was great and the food absolutely delicious. So much so that we returned 2 days latter to try more things on the menu. The meats were juicy, the potatoes and salad perfect. Try the lamb skewer! I loved it. Definitely a place worth trying

Found this place by google maps relaying on high ratings and I’d say it’s 100% fair. Shashlik (pork one) is very good and it comes with very nice salad and fries, the portion is enough for hungry big man. We visited the place twice during our 3 days long vacation because liked the food and would definitely visit exactly this place our next visit to Karlovy Vary.

Meat and beer lovers must come here! Fantastic food... we have been sitting here eating for the last 1.5 hours. Stuffed! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We made a reservation for 1900, but were so hungry we arrived much earlier, with no issues. When we came in the waiter remembered my man’s call and said it was no problem. Very hospitable.

Good place. Nice waiter. Correct price. The food isn't incredible, but recommendable, since there are big plates. Clean toilets, but a bit uncomfortable, at least the latrine. To sum up. Really recommendable. If you are nearby. Don't loose the opportunity. And don't get scared for the creepy exterior.

This restaurant is nice with interesting and promising menu however the food didn't meet our expectations. For 400czk for the veal "saslik" I expected great value. Meat was at best average. Too much salt in the salad, tasteless sauce, spongy potatoes. I would not return second time.

Jídlo je celkem dražší, a opravdu dobré, maso je velmi cítit pečením na dřevě, a komplet porce je veliká, veškeré suroviny kvalitní. Pivo je drahé a nechutnalo mi, chápu že jej vaří dle původní receptury, což naštěstí už dnes nikdo nedělá, jelikož bych musel přejít na víno :-) M.S.

Lovely restaurant. Friendly helpful staff. The variety of dishes and delicious is incredible. I recommend barley porridge in a pot with fried cheese. The most delicious Czech beer is brewed here. We will definitely come back here again, as we will in Karlovy Vary :)

Nejlepší zážitek z restaurace Byli jsme zde na obědě, jídlo jsme si dali z poledního menu - jediné slovo: LUXUSNÍ. Restaurace bere , akceptuje platbu kartou i hotovostí. Milá a rychlá obsluha. Ceny odpovídající , ale nikterak přehnané.

Came here cos of the good reviews but was disappointed with the food, had grilled chicken and it was kinda bland. Garlic potatoes were also kinda bland. Service was good though.

Líbilo se mi, že obsluha zvládá párování vína k jídlu Co se týká samotných chodů, tak všechno bylo moc dobré - maso dobře připravené, přílohy (hlavně zelenina) vynikající.

Excellent place in Carlovy Vary. Big and delicious portions. We took borscht and venison kebab. Light and dark beers are the best that we tasted in Czech. Best regards to host of this restaurant Yury. He made to us mini excursion

Obsluha příjemná, ochotná. Pro děti a nealkopijáky výborné domácí limonády. Jedna z mála restaurací , kde pochopili, že i o svátcích mají lidé chuť na třeba i jen drink nebo něco malého. Ostatní jídla mají též ve vysoké kvalitě.

Úžasné pivo, nejlepší co jsem měla ve Varech, také vynikající jídlo, velice doporučuji.

Tímto děkujeme celému personálu, tj. obsluze i kuchaři/kuchařce, který se o nás dne večer vzorně postaral. Tak příjemný večer v restauračním zařízení jsme dlouho nezažili.

Chuťové vjemy je těžké popsat slovy, přijďte a vyzkoušejte. Víno jsme si nevzali, ale s ním je to také očividně v pořádku. S restaurací jsme byli velmi spokojeni a byli jsme ohromeni obsluhou a jídlem.

Food was way to salty and the meat was dry. The restaurant is also quite expensive.

We took Shashlik (Šašlik) mix, enough for 2 people. The meat was soft, tasty, good quality, salad and potatoes comes with the dish as a side plate, worth to try it before siesta!!
