It's a shame I am having to write this but this perhaps may provoke change that people like me and my family experienced. It's worth highlighting that we have been coming to this restaurant for as long as I can remember due to the ocean view and ideal location when at Henley beach. Today's experience: We made our order as we normally do where my wife ordered fish of the day and decided to change to beef burger. My mum ordered calamari and chips. Both my wife and mum and I are from England and have been there and studied there to the top level. They are registered nurses both in England and in Australia so English language is quite proficient. I hate doing this but there is a discrimination that comes with being of African descent. So we were clear with our order and awaited the food. The burger was brought and fish of the day was brought and my meal pork belly. However no calamari and chips, which my mum loves. We notified the waiter of the order mishap to which calamari and chips was hurriedly made. The calamari was doughy and just felt it needed 2 minutes in that fryer and all good. It appears the restaurant manager is always right because he brought the plate back unchanged ignoring my mum's concerns. He said I quote" the calamari is fine, if you choose not to eat it, you still have to pay" Abit rude I thought so I asked what so hard about frying for 2 minutes. To which they did after. Reason for writing this is that the whole experience ruined our dinner experience and we just wanted to get out as quick as we could. Also the fact that the table adjacent was uncomfortable with our pram being on side of the table and being near their table. The service they received was superb and their needs highly anticipated which showed they are capable. We just felt like second class citizens. This post is for my kids really. I don't want them to go through what me, my wife and parents go through everyday despite contributing to the community in a massive way.

Rude service. Went in there in a Saturday early afternoon around 5:00. The waiter boy welcomed us in and offered to ask whether we preferred to eat indoor or outdoor. We choice indoor, as they were not busy with many vacant seats, we settled at a table doesn’t have “reserve” sign on top. Set there for 15 minutes before a girl notice us and give us the menu. After we order, we set there enjoying the quality time with each other under the beautiful sunset. However, after about 10 minutes, there was a guy claimed to be the manager, asked us abruptly “who let us sit here, as we don’t have booking” and he repeated ask us to finger point the guy who took us in like he is not quitting until he figure out who “sneak” us in. This whole process is very very mentally exhausting. The problem is not who “sneak” us in. The problem is this table is not “reserved”. When we came in, there is no sign on the table. We set wherever we want. There weren’t any maître d’. there wasn’t even anyone offered us menus or bring us water. It is very rude the manager treat us like “criminals”, not sure if that’s based on our skin or what. The manager didn’t ask our next tables, people who came later then us who “sneak” them in. It’s being about weeks now. This thing should be put behind us now. I am writing this just to let people know. This place need “booking”, otherwise, you will be invited to play a abruptly detective ️‍♀️ game called “ who is the waiter who sneak you in”.

Overall, the food was not worth the prices listed on the menu. Had some arancini for 20$ and was similar to store bought. It came with hardly any aioli or cheese on them. The pizza we were served looked terrible and tasted bland. The burger we ordered was nice but was listed as having aioli but the only aioli I found was the 4 small dots of it on the plate that was only enough for 5 chips. Furthermore, when we asked for some more aioli for the chips, I'm pretty sure we were nearly charged a full 10$ for it which is the price of some chips with aioli. After expressing our annoyance with the price, no care was given from the staff (after spending 150$, it would have been nice to have the charge for some aioli waved, especially since they give hardly any in the first place). And finally the salad we ordered looked awful. It tasted fine but for 25$, you'd expect a salad that looked better than something made at home. Also they had this weird bit they did before ordering where they would bring you an oversized specials board and bring it to your table and leave it there. It felt a bit uncomfortable having people come up to our table to look at the specials board because they hadn't been served well enough. Went here a year or two ago and this place has gone dramatically downhill in terms of price and service.

To all my fellow MS warriors - if you are living by the ‘overcoming MS’ diet then please note, this restaurant is not OMS friendly. I have always loved this place, until yesterday. I ordered ‘eggs your way’ and asked for scrambled whites (no yolk). The waiter said she’d check with the chef, came back and said the chef can’t do it. I made a point that if they have eggs available (which they obviously did) that it’s not difficult to separate yolk from white. I explained that I have multiple sclerosis, a disability, and unfortunately have to stick to a pretty strict ‘diet’ due to my disability. One of the managers came over and essentially told me that what I was asking was not at all possible and made me feel as though I had some nerve for asking. It would be lovely if you could try to be a bit more accommodating for special requests. They’re not made lightly, mine wasn’t, I tailored my order to avoid foods that can cause me harm and cause an MS attack. I’ll steer clear of Stella’s from now on, even though I used to go so frequently. This was all in front of my friend and with my daughter as well, I had to go to foodland to get a banana so I had some sort of food.Some love, patience and understanding can really go a long way.

Not Assistance Dog friendly, very limited vegetarian menu. Booked a table out of the way 7 weeks in advance on a weeknight to accommodate my assistance dog, confirmed the day before, arrived and they'd given it away. Left. Do not recommend at all.staff did not seem to care at all. To make it worse, it was my birthday, which they knew. Tried to seat us in a busy corridor next to a pile of stacked furniture. Do not take an assistance dog here. ***edit. Thankyou for your response. 1. I am not Brad, 2. you were informed of the Assistance Dog prior to arrival, I heard the phone calls 3. none of the tables were OK for us to fit which is why we didn't choose one and why we asked to be seated where we did at time of booking. 4. The assistance dog was not a hearing dog. 5. We did come back in and spoke to the waitress Unfortunately your response is exceedingly inaccurate. If you do not wish as a restaurant to help accommodate Assistance Dogs that's your choice but it's important for those with dogs to know that they would be best going elsewhere, which was the point of the review.

We were very happy that the restaurant could accommodate a party of 12 on such short notice after our other booking let us down. However, it was quick to see that they were super over booked and that either the staff were too busy or not up to speed with so many customers. Unfortunately our meals were hit and miss, my lamb salad was amazing, my Husband's calamari was bland and not quite cooked right. The garlic pizza well, it was just butter pizza no garlic flavour at all. Another person got the same dish as myself and theirs was dry and tough, where as mine was soft and delicious. Then a whole meal was forgotten and an hour later they got their meal. The restaurant was very sorry for this and did comp a drink and they finally got fed, however the rest of the party were leaving when their meal came. Location is amazing though and I guess Henley Beach is always a full on place when it is warm. oh and the wine. terrible really really terrible. I will give them another shot but on a time where they may not be as busy. With a bill of just under $130.00 for 2 people I guess I would have expected a little bit more oomph

My wife and I had some of our wedding photo's taken outside this restaurant and we swore one day we would have a meal here. Cut to almost 20 years later when my brother, who was co-best-man at the wedding, gave us a voucher. Anyway, long story short - we finally made it and enjoyed every minute. The food was cooked amazingly, the view and atmosphere were delightful and the service was cheerful and welcoming. We look forward to eating here again soon. (especially the Roast Potatoes with Rosemary!)

When dining in Henley beach you expect a 5 star experience. Aside the great food and average drinks, dining in a hot room filled with people is not my cup of tea and it definitely isn’t my mums felt quite rushed and definitely wasn’t worth $110 when walking in it was hot and muggy sitting outside was an option but as it was jam packed and had no where to sit, inside was our only choice. We asked for aircon to be turned on 5 minutes go by still no aircon. Just speaking for the sake of everyone in the room definitely not somewhere to eat during summer. Customer service could be improved and inside could have a few rearrangements e.g AIRCON.

Stunning food. Excellent service. Beautiful view. We had entree chargrilled bread balsamic chilli oil. Mains were gnocchi pea, and pumpkin walnut mascarpone risotto. The food was as pricey as you might expect from a nice Italian restaurant, but definitely worth every penny. We were greeted at the door and seated by courteous and professional waiter who gave recommendations and readily topped our glasses. To look at the place from the outside one might expect a beach house style decor, with its paint chipped wood frames and canvas blinds. It's interior was offset by a stylish bar, and as advertised, newly renovated bathrooms. We were seated against the window with a view of Henley Beach (lunchtime, no reservation)

Wonderful location for a relaxing meal. This is the first time we visit the restaurant. Welcoming atmosphere with very friendly staff. Ordered seafood linguine and the one with blue swimmers. The flavours were amazing not overbearing at all. Our three children were super satisfied with a variety of four dishes to share ( fish, calamari, chicken nuggets and ham n pineapple pizza). Oops!!! I've only took the photos of the restaurant's interior. As soon as our food came out, I totally forgot about taking photos Will definitely go back. Oh, one more thing. The restaurant got really busy during dinner time. So glad that we went at 5:30pm and beat the crowd. Otherwise it could've been a bit of waiting.

We came on a Saturday evening without a booking but the service staff got us a table still. Very busy as expected but the service was rather efficient. Food was what expected from a decent Italian restaurant. We ordered a pizza and chips. The service staff suggested half serving of chips for two of us, which was very wise as the serve size is very generous. A great place with amazing view for comfort Italian food.

Like all busy beaches parking is available but takes some time to find it.

I always go to this place at Henley beach. I’m in love with their food and drinks. I just wanted to say that polenta chips are very big, when you ask for it you are expecting something different. Everything else is amazing. The new guy, a colombian waitress, is very kind. Also the manager, always trying to make you feel good. Thank you Stella team! I will be there always ☺️

First time visiting!! With 4 kids!! Staffs are extremely friendly, especially Shefali!Sometimes when you dine in a restaurant with kids you aren’t sure if they are welcome because they are so messy!! But the staffs are not only being very helpful but also treating us very nice! Food are all very tasty! Had a 60th birthday here for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. It's such a stunning restaurant they have hit the gold mine. Staff were incredible, going above and beyond for the birthday girls experience and our guests. I had the antipasto which was delicious, a little too many things that have that sour pickle taste, would love some more cheeses to break down those flavours. Big portions and all the food looked beautiful. Thank you Stella, we will be back.

Really nice cafe with beach views. There is a fantastic range of coffee and breakfast/brunch items on their menu. The interior design is also very aesthetically pleasing. This place is a must as you can see the beach without dealing with the external elements such as wind or sunshine. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, they can tweak certain menu items to accommodate your dietary requirements. I highly recommend coming here, the coffee is good!

Only thing this place has going for it is the view. The linguine marinara showed a lack of care from the kitchen, had a muscle beard and an unopened muscle in the over cooked pasta. The "fusilli" ragu was actually casarecce, a chef should know the difference. Service was lacking, we wernt even offered table water...... All in all over priced sub-average food

I used to dine here quite often expecting the food standard to be good but the pizza and linguine that we ordered today are very average. Linguine is too soft instead of al dente. The staff were very relaxed and friendly. I went here for a weekday celebration lunch a few weeks ago with some family and it was moderately busy. We were well looked after and were there for hours as it was a hot afternoon so we sat sipping our drinks, looking at the beautiful view. The food was yummy! My serve of garfish was massive and really good. This is standard for them. Definitely recommend. There was a DJ out on the lawn that night until 11.30 too. Nice place, good vibe

One of most unique spots in Henley beach. Wonderful view if the ocean. We went there for Sunday brunch. The service was average and the restaurant was quit busy. I ordered Stella breakfast. The poached eggs were over cooked, presentation was very average and the taste was average as well. The fresh juice was so nice. The coffee tasted a bit sour which is a sign of not enough heat during brewing time. I really hope my next experience will be improved.

Excellent food & location, and excellent choices of mainly SA made wines. Service was really friendly and very much on-point from the time we sat down, then was a bit of a lag when we needed to peruse the menu first, but the whole experience was awesome. Has been a quality eatery over a long period of time. Love it. ❤️

I can’t recommend Stella Restaurant enough! I went with my near 90 year old Mum my sister and 2 Daughters to celebrate our Mum and Grandma. Food was good, couldn’t fault it. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine before we ordered our meals. Everyone on my table got their drink except me. Asked a man passing by, he said he’ll get it. 20 minutes goes by and I still don’t have my drink. My partner went up to the bar and they said sit down it’s table service. After 30 minutes, I finally got my drink and no apology. For a sparkling wine.

Easy access to the jetty with fishing and crabbing happening at the jetty's end. Busy spot, good parking available but would need to be patient or quick to get a spot during busy times. Good acces to amenities. Smashed avocado was tasty with fresh ingredients

I absolutely love everything about Stella! The service is amazing and the food delicious. Best of all though, the atmosphere and the view…wow! I’m a regular and visit at least every two weeks. Highly recommend!

Stella restaurant is in a great location with a view of the water from most tables. Great service, recommendations from the waiter were spot on. The arancini balls were okay, came out a bit on the colder side but flavours were there. The barramundi was great, crispy skin made the meal and fish was cooked just right. Good value for the quality of food. Would recommend.

My sister and I had lunch at Stella's recently. The meal, service, atmosphere and location were superb. I had the Crispy Skin Barramundi and my sister had the Mussells. Sensational! First time in Stella, and YOU have to go! It has a mesmerising view to die for with amazing food. The arancini balls were to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! Very beautiful spot and friendly spot! Quite busy during weekends (spring/summer). Pasta is great and potato salad. The risotto was just so-so. Overall good experience and value for money!

The service here was really exceptional and it’s the only reason I bumped the rating of this restaurant up to four stars. Between the wings, salad and pizza - nothing was outstanding apart from the burnt pizza. The waiter was very proactive in sorting out the issue and taking the item off the bill.

Had breakfast/brunch and the food was very good, however the fried eggs that a few of us had were undercooked. The older lady who served us and cleared the table was perfect customer service!! She was brilliant! Very warm, friendly, polite, and helpful. Lost 1 star for the undercooked fried eggs.

First the views are fantastic. Lovely open banks of windows and warm interior Then, the food is spectacular. The vegetarian platter is perfect. Gorgonzola Gnocchi . Just delicious. Vegetarian options are limited however what it does have that is vegetarian more than makes up for it!

The blue crab pasta is from another world. It's the best pasta in Adelaide hands down, nothing compares! I spent hundred of dollars on it over the past years. Consistent, fresh, delish.
