Brandan “BMIKE” Odums is a visionary a talent a voice a force. His installment, Studio BE in the Bywater district of New Orleans brings his vision, his activism, and his voice to the masses. His talent and the art displayed is massive and impressive but, what really moved me is his focus on young artists with his program Eternal Seeds. He is using his power and talent to change lives for our future. Please, get outside the Quarter and see "who" New Orleans really is. I told a friend that I was going to see his exhibit and she said "I don't think I'd feel right going to that". She was implying that as a white person, she would be intruding on the space of black New Orleans. Do not believe this. It's important for everyone to see the truth that is BKIKE's work. We can't stop the stupidity unless we all educate ourselves.
I would rate this experience at 4.5 star. The building was real hot but the experience is total worth it. I've never really looked at art deeply but with this art there was deeper meanings than showed. As you looked closer you seen more and more of the image Bradan was trying to create. He even allows for other artist to come in and allow them to show their creative side and allows them to get a chance to show their artwork. The tour guide was amazing with explaining his viewpoint and some other meanings of the artwork that maybe you wouldn't have seen yourself. Overall, it was a great experience and if you have the chance I believe everybody should see it.

What an amazingly powerful place. Very big, with thought-provoking installations. Please note that if it rains, there will be water on the ground in some places but what’s most interesting about this is how it contributes to the installations in room. Also loved the Eternal Crowns wall with artwork by children and teens that is also for purchase. $10 for entry cash or card. We got there around 2:30-:45 on Saturday and there was no wait and not a big crowd, so you’re able to really digest the art without much interference Before you go, walk across the track and visit the spot of the arrest of Homer Plessy which eventually led to the Plessy vs. Ferguson case and the “separate but equal” doctrine that made segregation federally legal in America.
"Art is in the eye of the beholder" but I was genuinely moved by the larger than life displays. I was fortunate enough to visit while there was a live panel discussion that included first hand accounts of events that took place in New Orleans that may not be found in any textbook or library, it was truly an experience that I'm having a hard time describing in a way that does it justice. I visited on a weekday and there was no fee for admission but I made a donation using the QR code posted next to the door as you exited the exhibit. Your visit to New Orleans won't be complete if Studio Be isn't on your sightseeing itinerary.

Very informative and impressive!! The young man is very compassionate about his community. Urban City Tour is a must if you want to hear the True History of New Orleans from past to present. I don't remember our guide name but what a gem!!! To actually have a guide that is a resident that was born,,raised and share all his ancestors history and continues to carry the tradition with truth and pride every day!!! We were admitted free into the museum since we did the tour and it was worth every penny!!! Thank you Urban City Tour for this tour. Highly recommend

Studio Be is one of the most AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL art studios I’ve ever been to!! The artwork…OMG… BMike is definitely a force in the art world!! So much so that I’ve had one of his pieces added to my body art!!!! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Brandan in person, and he is an incredibly kind and humble human being. His work in our community has been impactful and inspiring. If you are in NOLA, this is a MUST do!!

Beautiful and moving exhibit. Powerful works that cut right to the core of your soul. It is impossible to go here and not feel strong emotions. Wear light clothes. It is in a warehouse that is not air conditioned. Not too bad but the heat might be a concern for some. Bring water and use the hand fans they give you. Do not leave town until you see this. It's that good.

This was my first time visiting a warehouse exhibit. I didn't know what to expect. I am pleased to say this place has set the bar high! Each exhibit was thought provoking. I love the detail. I kept looking for more. I spent hours inside and it felt like minutes. There was even an area that asked you to leave words for someone else. The Katrina portion brought tears to my eyes. Can't wait to see what else this artist has in store. I definitely recommend you visit this space.
This was, by FAR, one of the best art museums I've been to. It was very moving. Though small, StudioBe contained strong pieces of art: art about love, life, power, pain, and more. Pieces like "How Can Black People Paint Flowers at a Time Like This" are ones that won't be soon forgotten. StudioBe makes you think. It was a beautiful experience.

Beautiful work! Been a fan from a distance, so when I had a trip planned for New Orleans, this stop was NECESSARY. **Be aware that the studio is in a warehouse, so it's not climate controlled. It was a 100° day outside, so we definitely moved through a little faster and left a bit sooner than we would have on a more moderate weather day.

An immersive experience and the Radical Freedom Dream installation touched a somber hopeful note that is timely and engaging. My kids loved it, it brought out alot of conversation about the future and freedom. An important NOLA site. And in a true testament to the nestled history of New Orleans, just across the track from Studio B is a history plaque that details the site of where Homer Plessy was arrested in the test case that would become Plessy v. Ferguson.
This place is one of New Orleans BEST kept secrets! I challenge you to leave the beaten path of bourbon street and Canal Street and visit this place! If you are an art lover, you will be Mesmerize by this artwork and the story behind it! It admission price is VERY reasonable. If you visit at the right time, you may catch the artist there as well. He is a very humble man & will not hesitate to stop to catch with you or take a picture!
I love this place! I was here a month ago and I've been a few times before. Some exhibits change while some are staples there but no matter what if you walk out this place and you don't feel inspired or touched in some way I don't know whatbto tell you. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mike which is the owner to my knowledge and you can tell how passionate he is in what he does and his exhibits reflects just that. Awesome experience!
It's in a warehouse type building, so it's really open and really sets the mood, but it's incredibly hot. The artwork is really provoking and speaks the truth about justice and race. It's definitely a good place to go for educators or young activists. My only issue is that I wish it had more pieces

This was an amazing experience. Seeing the artistic creations of the New Orleans youth as well as contributions from the owner Brandon, was very soothing and motivational. Definitely a hot spot to visit when in New Orleans. Thanks to Dennis of the Urban Tours of New Orleans by Second Line Tour.

One of my favorite places I visited in New Orleans. Great place to visit! The art is real and brings a lot of emotions as you tour the space. You gain a deep love for the people of New Orleans. It’s great to see young black artists making a impactful experience to the people. If you are looking for a beautiful experience this is the place you must add to your list when visiting!
Studio Be is astounding. Should it be called an art gallery, and immersive experience, a multimedia installation? Whatever you call it, Studio Be is great in size and great in depth. It's great also in artistic ambition... and in artistic achievement. It tells a story that will change you. Everyone should go. We spent an afternoon there and will never forget it.
Studio Be was wonderful!! The art there was a tremendous view into the world of the artist and his growth in the city of New Orleans and beyond. His accomplishments and influence has been nothing short of amazing. This visit was very rewarding, and I recommend everyone to visit if you are in New Orleans. This was one of many stops on the cultural city tour.
We had lunch in the By Water and decided to walk over to Studio Be as we had heard good things about it. We were lucky to have stopped by at the perfect time because we got to browse all of the wonderful artwork without it be overly crowded. The best part of all, Brandon came in while we were there and said hello and took a pic with us! Highly recommend!
If you've never been to Studio Be, you need to go its a MUST whenever you visit New Orleans the messages behind each photo is AMAZING... Studio Be you gave me goosebumps walking through and I thank you for this experience GREAT JOB keep it up.... Make sure yall support this young man that's trying show yall a difference through the artwork...
Very moving experience. Was able to hold back some tears and understood the frustration of the ones this is for. I could have spent 2-3 hours there. This is meant for all folks of different backgrounds, but those of us who have felt some of these things first hand will find ourselves at times unable to move and replay our own experiences.
Studio B the art was beautiful and really pushed the messages of each in every unique way the speaker was nice and throughally spoke and explained the large pieces of art though they was expensive they look to be worth it

Powerful art. The facility is large, so plenty of room to walk around and appreciate the size of the murals (they're massive!) The pieces touch on a lot of issues affecting the black community today, as well as tributes to prominent civil rights leaders both nationally and locally. Would recommend a visit for anyone visiting New Orleans.
I had heard of BMike through some Youtube videos on street art and wanted to check out his place. I had no idea that my visit would last over two hours, or that I would be so moved. Studio Be is an absolute gem, and should definitely be on your itinerary. BMike and his staff are doing good things... go give them some love.
Just please go! This place was phenomenal and causes stimulating conversations. The art pieces are moving and stirred up some feelings for me - sadness, anger, and so much more. I have become a fan for sure! It was cool driving around New Orleans and Baton Rogue seeing Bmike's work! Stop at the store and shop too!
Good art is pretty; GREAT art makes a lasting impression. This is GREAT ART! I'm so glad my Uber driver told me about this place. My kids and I loved it, and it gave us a lot to talk about.

Please make this a stop on your trip through New Orleans. Five years ago I stood outside this warehouse taking in all of the murals on its exterior not knowing the beauty that lied within. I love seeing the pieces put together by BMike and even got to see an artist bringing a new piece to life.
Dope experience for someone who knows little about NOLA. I walked away with an awareness of the Cities real inhabitants and the blight that surrounds them. Black art is best presented by black artists, and this is an experience for everyone to learn a little, laugh, and cry. Well done!
Studio Be is a must see attraction in the New Orleans area. There are a lot of important cultural references and artworks in the building that take a lot of big issues into understandable small sections. Over it is a location that everyone who come to the area should see.
Even though it was warm in there all the art was amazing and beautiful… I really felt the connect with a lot of the are and where the artist were coming from when they made the art

This is a must-visit exhibition in New Orleans. One of the best I've seen anywhere. It's clear that the artist has a strong and complex understanding of the Black American experience and the imagery is stunning. Definitely visit and support his exhibition.
This was a very cool establishment. Each of the pieces my group was shown were explained and we were free to ask any questions and take pictures. The artist is clearly a talented and deep-thinking individual based on the creativity that was displayed.
I found this place not worth the money (too small of an exhibition for 10+ usd). The art was nice, but did not moved me too much.

This installation is powerful, important, necessary and incredible. I highly recommend the visit. It was an emotional experience, and very eye opening. Don't hesitate to check it out if you're in the area. And if you're not - make the trip. <3
The art was absolutely beautiful and meaningful. The only downside was that it was so hot in there but it was worth it to see the art. And they did provide little hand fans and a free BLM bracelet so all in all I had a great experience there.
Studio Be is a must see experience when you come to Louisiana. Hopefully you get a tour around the place. Lots of amazing art. Mike was great showing us around the place. Check out our content with him on Facefirst Podcast with Ryan Clark.

This was such a good find. We spent a couple hours wandering through the whole thing, and it was time and $15 well spent. Thought provoking and moving, the art is beautiful and meaningful. Would recommend for anyone visiting New Orleans!
Amazing artist.....building was hot....I could have stayed longer, but the heat did not allow. The entry fee is reasonable and you get so much more than what you pay for. Inspiring artwork....artist ebbs the past with present...... More
The exhibit was AMAZING! The attention to detail and storyline was literally tear jerking. Definitely award worthy pieces! Kudos to BMike, his staff, and fellow artists. Flowers given and well deserved. How can I book the space? …

Really powerful! I hadn't heard of it before going, but I really enjoyed it. Lots of open space and lots of art to contemplate. It's not very expensive, and seeing everything can be quick if that's desirable. Highly recommend!
Black owned art gallery with some really dope and moving exhibitions. Doesn't take long to tour the whole gallery. Maybe 30 minutes. There's no air conditioning but no sun cuz you're inside. They give you fans. A MUST visit!
Wonderful experience and so powerful the exhibits inside. No air conditioning inside so it's really hot but I still would go again. They had vendors the day I went of a bunch of black owned companies and it was great
1 Star because I booked some tickets for the family and we had a family member pass away so we weren’t able to make it. I emailed them multiple times asking for a refund or even to reschedule my tickets. $60 wasted.
This is a must visit when in New Orleans. I've been to New Orleans multiple times and didn't know about the place. Make sure to have time to just enjoy and not be rushed. Guarantee you'll be changed after visiting!!
Damn, it's so freaking cool. An experience for the eyes and mind, some amazing fantastic art by local NOLA artists. Allow yourself at least an hour to take in everything, and buy some of their work. A can't miss.
Incredibly thankful for being able to experience Studio Be and that these stories are being fostered and shared here. This is a powerful place and you will be moved - a must-visit spot when you’re in New Orleans.
I was really impressed with not only the artist who is responsible for studio Be, but also the exhibits inside. He passionately spoke on most of the pieces and shared background on what inspired them. A must see!
The perfect place to spend the day. If you want to be inspired by local artist, then this is the place. They offer discounts for students as well. Please come support the studio if you are ever in New Orleans.
Studio Be is simply phenomenal! The history taught from the paintings is remarkable. I immensely enjoyed the visit. If you haven't been there, you should schedule a visit. This is a good business to support.
Studio Be is a large and open gallery that tells an array of stories via its art. A very unique gallery. I plan on returning and do recommend Studio Be as a place to visit if you are into art and stories.
The only thing I can say is GO VISIT!! Amazing presentations but these beautiful talented artist. The experience was heavy but OUR history is OUR history and we will never forget! How can we.... …

You can nor end up at a better place during Black History Month. BMike is an AMAZING Artist and It's not had to see why Will Smith had him do the artwork for his new Book " Will".
Go here. Take the time away from booze, parades, and food to appreciate and commune with large-scale thought-provoking representational art done almost entirely in spray paint.
Seeing this artist's story and everything he does with the community is amazing. His art speaks volumes and I was happy to have had a guided tour by a friend of his.
Art (black culture) as a way of life is greatly expressed in this phenomenal location. This is where you will definitely meet and greet the legend himself, @bmike2c
To be honest I didn’t have to privilege of going into the studio, but came to explore the murals. That alone, WORTH IT! Very beautiful and awesome to see in person!
A must see, a beautiful experience. I really loved this place. The art, the messages, you must go here. Very much worth it. The world needs more museums like this.

One of the BEST experiences we had in NOLA. Hands down my favorite art gallery I’ve been to. Very powerful art with a huge social message. 1000% recommend
Really unique art gallery with thought provoking larger than life pieces. Worth the trip if you want to go off the beaten path while in New Orleans.
Simply. Awesome. So glad I stumbled upon this place while browsing Google Maps. The works are truly moving -- it's a must see if you're in the area.
We were only able to see the art around the studio but my LORD. Brandon is an amazing artist. Blessings to him and those who support him
The place will leave you thinking and in shock of how beautiful the art is here. All I can say is contribute to the mans great work. ♎
Amazing, compelling, emotional art pieces, completely reflective of the black experience and turmoil within a MUST-SEE when in NOLA!
Really great place! It looks closed when you arrive. Just open the blue door next to the blue girl graffiti on the red wall. Enjoy !
Invest in the art. Spend your money. Help let the creators continue to tell black stories through art. We grateful appreciate it .
BEAUTIFUL!! Don't be fool of the area cause even the area has more murals to see a must!!! Go see the rest !!
There are very few tours you can take or galleries you can see that I would call 8mportant. Studio Be matters
INCREDIBLE — so much art & energy in this space. I love the current exhibit in the back room— profound work
This place is very interesting. It would be better if it had ac to enjoy it more.

Such a needed experience. Great and full expression of blackness and all it means to be black in America.
An experience every young person should be apart of. This is a place that should be around. forever
Very talented artist. I highly recommend this exhibit as a must see if you are ever in New Orleans!
Really beautiful and impactful artwork. They also had local vendors inside selling handmade goods.
Both the art inside and outside was amazing! I love the meaning/message behind every art piece.
Super dope great art work pieces that really hit home so glad I went and got to experience it.
I felt the anguish and triumph within the art. Amazing experience! It's a one-of-one event!
