I was a loyal customer to this car wash for over 8 years now and was really happy with it. Recently I had to clean my SUV, but I had a small trailer with a muddy quad in it which I was not planning to wash (just rinse the seat). As it was snowing that day I knew that there aren't going to be any other people washing their cars and that my little trailer was not going to be causing any trouble so I figured I will pull in, meanwhile looking for a sign which (as in many other car washes) says if trailers and/or OHV's are allowed or not. Couldn't find one, so I proceeded. Only after I've deposited the money and started washing the truck I was approached by a grumpy gentleman which I belive is the owner of the place. I immediately told him that I'm not going to wash the quad and won't make any mess, but the first thing he crossly asked without even greeting me was if I've broken his gate with my trailer. I obviously didn't, but then he told me that I was not allowed there with offroad equipment or trailers to which I replied that I didn't see any warning signs. He walked away irritated. If I wouldn't be a long time customer I would of given 1 star for customer service, but I won't because other than that incident the car wash is great. As a suggestion I would recommend them putting up a sign saying that no OHV's and trailers are allowed and being more nice to their customers. And as a hint to other lads who face the same problem of driving into the car wash with their trailers I would recommend Bowfort Road RV, Truck & Car Wash, which is around 10 mins away. They do allow you to wash your OHV too.
I used to come here for years but recently this car wash has fallen behind the competition. Compared to other car washes, this place charges in increments of $1, others charge in increments of 25 cents. Other places have such a high soap concentration that it nearly turns your car white, this place's soap is so watered down that you can barely see any bubbles. Other places have two pressure settings, one low, one high, this place has only one pressure setting and it's medium pressure at best. I don't know if there was a change in ownership or what happened to this place, but at this point even a rip off like big bucket or a detour to spy hill wash is better because at least you actually get soap there. The only advantage that sudsy's offers me is that it's nearby; I wouldn't make the detour to drive to this car wash if I lived farther away. Give the other places a try and see for yourself. Edit: you don't have 2 pressure settings. Presoak & rinse don't count as two pressure settings. The royal oak carwash rinse cycle has a low pressure setting if you don't squeeze the trigger, and if you squeeze it it's higher pressure than your carwash's pressure. Also, they use hot water for their rinse cycle, you cheap out and use cold water. And to tell me you're gonna give me a run through as if I don't know how car washes work ahahah yeah ok you patronizing clowns. I did a 9 minute and roughly 30 second car wash at royal oak for $7.50. if I did that at hawkwood carwash it would've been $10.
Long standing (spray) car wash located in NW Calgary's Hawkwood district in the most Easterly part of the Hawkwood Village Shopping plaza, and in the same structure (drive around back) as Hawkwood Auto Service. Equipped with 7 self serve bays, the facility is always clean and usually staffed by pleasant attendants who will supply change if needed. There is an on site change machine should you run out; which...is a good possibility, seeing as this convenience and cleanliness comes at a price. It's on the expensive side...with sprayer time on the lower side I have seen. This being said however, all of the equipment is in good service order and has all of the regular additives (soaps, waxes, special cleaners) available by switch. Each bay is also equipped with a central Vacuum attachment...and floor mat holders.Their vending machines also take VISA/Mastercard by pre-authorization. Line ups can be lengthy on busy days.
I haven't been back to this place for many years so today I decided to go on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The Indian manager/owner was super friendly. I told him I haven't been back for many years and he literally took 10 min to explain to me all the details of the processes, the different cycles of wash, and coins VS credit card operations. I was concerned about the foam brush scratching my car and he reassured me that they are the best in the industry and told me to feel them which were very soft. I gave my car a Long Awaited nice wash and was very happy with the chat and the wash. Lot's of places you get cold shoulders from employees or owners that don't really care about your business but today this manager/owner clearly showed he cares about his business and his customer. I will be returning to this location. Excellent work!!!
I am updating my review as I've had a couple of negative experiences when using my credit card to pay. I would strongly recommend avoiding using a credit card. The timer automatically defaults to round up to the next minute when it charges you, but the frustrating part is that I hit STOP on the machine at 3:55, and it proceeded to continue to count up to 3:58 seconds (which would still be a $4 charge), and then suddenly jumped to 4:02 and charged me an extra dollar. I thought I had screwed up the first couple of times but I've now had multiple similar instances where it adds an extra dollar to the amount. At least when you pay cash you get to use the car wash for the full amount you pay...
It’s easy to tell that the ownership knows how to present a quality service. The wash is always clean, well lit, rarely lined up more than one car, and the water is piping hot with excellent pressure. When you switch the mode from rinse to soap it takes < 5 seconds to switch over, unlike the ~30 seconds I experience at all other car washes. I like how they’ve added in the credit card terminals as it makes getting started and keeping the wash going much easier. Traveling to this car wash is worth the trip every time as I am always pleased with the quality of wash I receive. Thanks Sudsy’s for always being reliable for me, I’ll come back and visit soon!
Maybe turn the music down I am going to leave and go to Bubbles. Thanks That's a really poor response! I am one of your customers and I didn't say that the music was bad I said maybe turn it down. It's way to loud! The last time I washed my car there it wasn't anywhere near as loud as it is on this day. The funny part is you probably think I'm just a one time customer by the tone of your response but I can assure you I have been going to this location since 1999. Thank you for your very quick poor response it truely shows you do not care about me as an almost 25 year customer. Congratulations;)
Loved Sudsy's! I went on a Saturday before noon. It was busy but I only waited 5 minutes until being guided towards the washing bay. It was my 2nd visit and everything worked like a charme. The snow last week had dirtied my car quite a bit so I took my time and still, the price is very reasonable (especially for a beginner). I used the tire cleaner and circled my way through their different programs from there. I will always come back here now for my washes! Also love that it is a local place. There is enough parking space outside to dry your car and do a bit of detailing if necessary.
I'm SO impressed with this car wash, I had to leave a review. We have been traveling by car for weeks and the amount if bugs stuck/baked to my vehicle was astronomical. I used the presoak and (as recommended by the owner on site) I let it sit while I finished vacuuming the interior. It was unbelievable how easily the bugs came off leaving my car looking amazing. It saved me time and was so effective. This car wash is great!!! It's has high quality products, it's clean, it's well lit and the owner is so lovely and helpful. I will definitely be supporting this business.
Price is fair, each car has its own bay, so you are not rushed from another car waiting behind you. The foam comes out of the same pressure washer nozzle, which other places you would have to use a brush (read: dirty brush). You can use credit card, which is great. I'll be coming more during winter time to get the car clean from all the dirt and road salt. Don't think your car will be showroom ready, no car wash will give you that. But knowing you can knock out 95% of the dirt and grime from winter driving without freezing your hands in a bucket is worth it 100%.
Wish they had wax options. Been there twice and debt option is always an issue and don't have an ATM. Have a bill to change machine. Edit: I've just read the owners reply, and I cannot reply directly to them, so hopefully they see this. I understand you guys offer debt in your bays. The first time I went the debt option didn't work and I used the change in my car and didn't say anything. The second time I went, I went to the office and got the attendant to come out and tell me the debt option was dead and to move bays.
One would think that the car wash bay business model is rocket science in Calgary since many of these businesses can’t get it right. Sudsy’s has figured it out. Very clean, good wash cycle times, no soap in the rinse lines, and an attendant usually on site. The (I think) owner, is often seen walking around maintaining his operations. Perhaps it is the location, but I have never seen the ridiculously muddy 4x4 or drywaller truck types here, which is a very good thing to me. Highly recommended.
Bay 2 car wash stall did not have a working Foam Brush. Only 5 seconds worth of foam came out and it stopped. Outcome was a poor wash using the high pressure wash only. As I was pulling out, I spotted a worker. Told him about the problem and he didn't believe me. He went to the machine to test and I waited watching in my car. 5 seconds of foam came out and it stopped. He gave me a surprised look and did not even say sorry. Next time Ill drive a bit further to crowfoots Big Bucket Wash!
Good place to wash its close to home so I continue to go and don't like drive thru washes . That being said I have put countless toonies and loonies in to wash and they just chew my money and don't get to wash . Havr left multiple times with soap on my car still as I had a certain amount of money with me . Also the vending machines are hit or miss for sure . You can enter your choice and the little bars twirl but don't feed your air freshener some times takes 3 tries to get one.
I've been going to Sudsy's for many years and I always go either first thing in the morning (they open at 6:00 AM) or late at night (around 9:00 as they close at 10:00 PM), when it's less busy and you don't feel rushed. It's got 6 bays only but they are separate from each other, unlike some other places where two spots are lined up and you feel like you're holding others up if you take your time for washing your vehicle. They accept cash and credit which is very convenient.
First time here today and to any self-service car wash. I was pleasantly surprised with the service and results of the wash! Thankfully a gentleman in the next bay over from me noticed my struggles with the process of a “u-wash” system and helped straight away to get the right sequence of options for my dirty and bug spattered truck! Sparkling clean now! Turns out, this helpful person was the owner of this business, washing his own truck. Very happy and will return.
Such a nice manual car wash! I really liked that they had music playing so you can listen while you wash your car, something I haven't seen that before! Also they have a good amount of stalls and the system works well for washing the car. It seems the time runs out so fast but it lets you know when time is running out so you have a heads up which is nice! I did find it a little confusing of how to get in the car wash, but once you find it once you're good.
EDIT: in response to the kind reply, I used your presoak across my entire car. Thanks but I'll stick to coop, I know their soap removes salt. Car was seems to run well. Prices are reasonable and I always appreciate a wand wash that takes interact tap. That being said, I did spend $17 worth of washing to not have the salt removed from my car... Idk how that soap doesn't remove salt but I won't come back here in the winter again.
Been to a lot of Car wash since I am in Automotive industry but oh man, this is the First one I found that had smooth brushes and the car wax was superb. I felt like I just drove a New Car out of the Showroom. If there were more stars I would give them. Loved the customer service which in my eyes is the most important thing. Sending you my car buddies your way. Good luck and thank you
No-frills car wash. It was very handy to be able to pay with my Mastercard. However, I was disappointed to see that the amount shown on the screen that I paid was double that on my credit card statement. Hopefully it was a mistake either with the machine or on my part. In any case, I did not keep my receipt. I probably won't come back here, and if you go, keep your receipt just in case.
Very easy to use and get through. The stalls were very clean, pressure on the wands were awesome. I especially enjoyed the pay in stall set up - everything is fully automated. It's now my go to place for washing the vehicles. Highly recommend if you haven't been before. They move traffic very well during busy times, the owner was there checking in on everyone to see if he could help!
What can I say! I love this place! I get to maintain the esthetics of my car at a fraction of the price from other car washes-- at my own convenience at that! Ever since the management changed, I've noticed positive changes in the car wash over all with better products and equipment. The place overall is amazing due to its convenience and I love the scent of the soap!!!
First time coming to this car wash, usually go to Co-op automatic washes. Cleaned my car well and at a very good price. The atmosphere is swell and the pre-soak smells amazing. The asian boy in glasses was very helpful and polite. Showed me how everything worked and made me feel welcome. Great customer service, would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a car wash.
I wouldn't go here at peak times. Once you're in line, you're stuck in line so if you're tight on time and there's anyone else in line you're better off going somewhere else. I like that the bays are all indoors and kept warm when it's cold outside. Once in the bay it's your typical wand shop with all the regular spray and brush options. The rates are pretty average.
Definitely one of my favourite places to take my vehicle for a car wash. All of the services that I look for are all included at Sudsy's. The management is always great and I am always pleased with the service. Everything is always accessible and I definitely would recommend to others. Thank you for being one of my favourite car wash! Experience is always a 10/10.
But of a gong show. Doors let you in meanwhile theirs no stalls, traffic gets backed up and then you can’t get out until a new stall opens up or someone leaves.. 2$ minimum which is a bit much for the amount of time they give you. All in all probably won’t ever return. Edit: just so everyone knows, their response is fake and was not me, I don’t even own a truck...
I absolutely LOVED Sudsy's Car Wash! What a great value car wash!! The bays were clean, there was a hand sanitizing station as well as great customer service from the owner who thoroughly explained the process to me. The equipment was easy to use. I will always stick with Sudsys as its the best wash I've been to with and I am a huge advocate for supporting local!
Excellent customer service. This is my first time going to uwash, the staff explained how it works and what every equipment is for. The only thing was that the vacuum didn't work at first and I spent a lot of time and money on vacuuming, but after I communicated with the staff and switched to another spot the vacuum was perfect. Would definitely return.
I am very particular on where I take my cars to get washed. This location is not only close by, but very well set up. The owner is a great guy and always very pleasant to deal with. One of my favorite places to go wash my car. The bays are always clean and I find the car wash very efficient. Worth the value and I always recommend this place to others.
Nice place to wash your by yourself. Its covered & options are easy to understand. I went for all options THE First time & spend $14 & next time i was aware what i have to use & how long spend $7. So it all depends how messy is your car. Only one drawback once you are in queue there is no turning back if you have cars ahead & behind you waiting.
Greatest carwash I've been to in the Calgary. I specifically drive to this carwash as I know it is kept extremely clean and provides the best bang for my buck. I agree with the individual below, having a sanitizing station is just a great thought from the owners to keep me coming back. I highly recommend this car wash located in Hawkwood!
I can’t even explain to you people that there is not enough stars to express how I feel going to get my car cleaned here. It’s a clean, nice place and This place never disappoints and I will be a customer in any season we get here in Calgary. Keep up the great work fellas and I will definitely be telling all my family and friends.
Update: new owner has increased the prices by more than 50%!! Don't come here. Not good value for $. Great music and always clean. Unfortunately it will be dead soon. Seemed like a nice guy. Too bad! Vacuum not working either. Update: I did contact the owner, but there wasn't anyone there to bring the issue to.
Self operated car wash. It is $2 to start and you can use coins or card. It also lets you switch modes like with soap or rinse throughout the duration of the wash which is nice because not all car washes allow you to do that. There are curtains that separate you with other cars/people so perfect for Covid.
For 12 years ive come here until today. The vac looks like it came from a rejected garage sale, totally Useless. no exuse for not upgrading to a quality vac. It seems the owner is in denial to replace his ineffiecent vacums, and to say im not capable to use one, shows his true colors as sly buisness man.
Clean bays. Price is reasonable. If you use credit card. It will show up first as $24.95. Wait a couple of days and the actual amount will be billed to your card. Make sure you push the stop button and go to the side wall and get a receipt. It's a great a place to wash your car or truck. No trailers.
This is my go to car wash, regular visits at least twice a week. Had an issue last visit with no soap during wash cycle. Left a review but was not able to edit it again. Anyway, went back today and the manager credited me half of what I had paid last time. Soap is working much better. Thanks
Always a good experience at this car wash. The staff are very friendly and it's pretty affordable as the starting rate is a little bit cheaper and their minute rate is also a little bit more affordable than other places. There's usually also not that big of a lineup during hot summer days
This car wash is trash. Cold water? For real? Do you wash your dishes with cold water? No. You don’t. Anyone reading this just go to Centex on Edmonton Trail here in Calgary. Way better value. The water is actually hot and you get more time for your money. Will never come back here.
People were friendly and eager to help! Very clean bays and easily accesible. Wait times were not as long as cars kept moving in and out in a timely manner. Got my suv cleaned and vacuumed.. looks as good as new. I would definitely recommend this car wash :-)
This was one of the best car washes I have been too. Great customer service and you definitely get your money's worth as others I have been to the time runs out fast. I would strongly recommend this car wash as I know this is where I will always go now :)
Rate. - $1/min. Not the best value. Pressure - IMO, just a bit above medium. Generally, the shop is clean and well maintained. Pressure washer not as strong as some of the others I've been to. Opinion, if Pressure was stronger, then $1/min would be OK.
My favourite place in the city, bays are always clean and machines are coin or credit card. They also have a vending machine with products to help clean your car. The best part is I've never run into an issue with their vacuums like at other locations
Hidden Gem. A Great, clean, well maintained car wash. Very helpful and respectful staff that's eager to assist. There was a line that moved quickly. I love that the community supports a local small business. Would definitely recommend this car wash!
Self service decently clean all adjuncts available to powder your vehicle. If you have a system can wash rinse your vehicle for 2.00 otherwise blow your budget! New owner operators but seem to operate ok.. Hugh and Chrissy previously were awesome!
Great Facility! Nice and clean! There is a staff to help you, even on weekends. [January 26, 2019: I also Got charged $24.95 for a 11 dollar wash and vacuum on January 26th, but that was only preauthorization and I got my money back 3 days later.]
Easily on my list as one of the best car wash/detailing shop in the city. With so many options and services with great quality products. The professionalism of the owner blows my mind of how well they take care of their customer’s needs. 10/10!
Awful car wash. Most expensive. I’ve spent $10 washing my car here and still be utterly disappointed. Also, their spot free rinse provides the exact opposite of a spot free rinse. Really sucks cause it’s so close to me, but this had to be said.
Great place to have your car washed! There is usually no wait time! And they except change still witch I like, so you can control how much you wanna pay for a quick rinse instead of putting your debit in and all of a sudden because you have
Its tough to find a "good" wash in the NW.. So I was pleasantly surprised when I came across Sudsys in Hawkwood. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I appreciate that they are open later than most as this
We love this place. Anytime we need to wash our cars, we always go here. Great service, friendly helpful staff. Wait times are not as long as other places, they have allot more bays then other places. Highly recommend this place!!!
Line-ups to get in on chinook-y winter days when the roads are slushy. Go there during the weekdays or weekend evenings to potentially avoid wait times. Min $2 charge. Clean facility. Takes credit cards with change machine on-site.
Smaller car wash, and make sure to bring $2nies an loonies as that's all the machines accept..can exchange bills (watched another customer) I didn't have any bills on me nor my card, and needed to change quartets to $2 & $1 coins.
Went for the first time and it was very easy to get your car washed for just $5! They had tap to pay and it was easy to see how much time and money you’ve racked up. Will visit again when in need a light car wash in the summer.
Great Facility, it's well priced and the staff is very helpful. The clientele of this place is enough of a testimony; you'll see everything from modern porches, classic chevy's, to family mini vans all coming here to get clean.
The location uses both coin and credit cards. I wished you could see a timer while washing as going from car to machime when your card is running slows you down. This can cost you a tidy sum. Otherwise a goos location
This is my first time visiting the Sudsy's car wash. The staff is very nice and patient teaching me how to wash my truck. Excellent car wash and my truck gets cleaned and shiny. Thank you very much Sudsy's car wash!
My friend just told me about this car wash tucked away in the beautiful area of Hawkwood. All I have to say is what a hidden gem! This carwash was so clean, and so reasonable for pricing. I will definitely be back!
Great INDOOR car wash. Perfect for those cold winter days. Automatic doors allow you to easily drive in or out. Change machines provided as well as vending machines with snacks. Actually staffed with a human being.
Wow this place is very clean, the washing equipment is great, nice and warm inside and it takes credit card. I just need to work out how to get the members card so I can save money on my weekly trip over …
I actually avoided this one a few times because from the outside it seemed too small. Once inside I realized it is a hidden gem. Very clean, tons of space, easy to use and overall one of the best I have been too.
Best car wash in town! Hidden gem in the city. Price is reasonable, place is clean, vending machines are stocked and reasonably priced as well. Theres always someone if i need help with anything. Easy 5 stars!!
Takes cards!!! Lots of soap options, I wish there was a way to pause the timer so I could focus on getting some dried on gunk off with a cloth but I know that’s how they make their money so I can’t be mad.
the best place I found to wash your car/truck lots of water/soap and all the amenities to keep your vehicle spotless,I know for I'm in there all the time. I go nowhere else try it you will see what I mean
Equipment is good, etc, but wash cycles are way too short. Costs me double what it used to cost under the previous owneship. Mind you ...maybe that's why the previous ownership couldn't make a go of it!
Started coming here due to big bucket drastically increasing their prices. A little farther from home but worth it! Great place, and great rates. Cost me $6 to wash my car here vs $23 at big bucket!
Visiting from out of town so this was my first indoor self serve car wash experience and I wonder why I don’t have any by my me. Quick and easy with everything you need to get your car clean
Excellent car wash, and really cheap .I wash my car and looks like brand new for just8 bucks!!, not like big bucket car wash it's so expensive usually cost me 20 bucks!! No buddy go there!!!
My favorite part of the week is washing my truck at Sudsy's indoor carwash it's incredibly clean and the staff is super friendly ! Hands down, my favorite carwash in YYC !!! …
Their equipment is really good! Efficient, not too expensive, convenient. I will definitely come back here instead of this awful Crowchild Car Wash... It's worth the extra miles!
Great car wash . Always spotless. Friendly staff. Had a problem with my prepaid card was given a new card immediately . Have been going here forever. Best car wash in the area.
I love using this carwash. I have been coming here for years - not just because it’s in the community, but it blasts the best 80’s music!! I bop along while I wash my car :)
Good size bays and well maintained. If paying by credit card they reauthorize for around 25 bucks and tie up your funds for a few days until the transaction is processed.
Great car was could get a little more time for your $ but offers plenty of time for you to add more coins. The coin machine is frequently empty though so bring your own
$2 will give you 2 min of wash time and very clean wash bays. A little tight on the roadway for entering and exiting the wash bay if you drive dually or long box.
Clean and tidy car wand wash. Coin operation is available ($1.00 a minute), was able to do a prewash with $4. All in all $20 and my car is clean inside and out.
Check your credit cards mine said 11$ when I finished and my card was charged 24$ I drive a small Ford Focus so 24$ would be hard to get to on a dirty day
I've been coming here as long as I've had a car, I love the service and the price here. Also very convenient location, I always try and wash my car here
Best car wash to go to for manually washing your own car! Line-ups are not too long and there are plenty of options to clean your car. Very good value!
I came across with one the machines that its Foam-brush button was not working. It is not possible to meet and inform any staff when face such issues.
Always our Calgary Landscaping company A Green Future wash our trucks here and personal cars. STAFF are awesome and friendly. Clean calgary nw carwash
My battery died in car wash , they provide me with battery booster! They are really helpful! And always there’s a people right there to help ! Thanks
Good car wash. Little tight to get into with a big truck. Well maintained, clean and good soaps and cleaners from the wand, brush and tire cleaner.
Car Wash. They make it a good experience. Equipment works, roomy, well-lit. Time for your coin seems to be good. Need more bikini models though.
Great place to totally clean your car. The interior shampoo wand/brush is a little awkward but did the job. Seats looked great when finished.
Nice facility, car got nice and clean, generous soap dispensing. It was definitely not the least expensive wand wash we've done though. :O
I was in the area and just needed to rinse my car...but inserting $1 is not acceptable...so I had to do $2 just to start the spraying...
I washed my truck. I spent 30 dollars. The place is runn well. I got in trouble because my truck was to muddy. I said sorry. All good.
Great place for self serve wand wash. Water pressure could be a bit higher. And water temp could be hotter during the winter season.
Has a vacuum and shampoo brush, not overpriced and has wipes or air fresheners in a vending machine, trash bags for each stall too.
Great place. Way better priced than any of the other places. Solid local joint. Helpful staff too. It's worth checking it out.
Good car wash. Time has decreased slightly for what you get for a dollar but still competitive. My go to when I’m in the NW.
Good prices for wand washing your car. Each stall has more then enough space with all of the necessary cleaning options.
Great coin op/credit card wand wash. Always clean, lots of bays, you never wait too long even when they are super busy.
Very nice place and the rate are great. The owner is always there to help if there is any issues with a big smile.
Very good place, but at the exit you should install heavy duty dryers, so much nicer than hand drying vehicle.
Great place to wash your car, it was very clean and easy to access. My new favorite spot to wash my car.
Great place to wash your ride. Carwash is always kept clean and all is always in good working condition.
Super convenient and very handy to my neighborhood. Lots of room to work. I will be using regularly.
Got charged $24.95 for a 3 dollar wash.dont ever use your credit card there you will be ripped off.
