I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the recent dining experience at your restaurant in Gordon's Bay. On Mother's Day, my family of eight visited your establishment, and unfortunately, we encountered several issues that made our visit less than enjoyable. Firstly, we noticed that the restaurant was messy and in a disgusting state. We observed chips scattered underneath our table, and when we went to the smoker’s section for a smoke, we couldn't find a single clean table in the smoking section. This was concerning and it made us feel uneasy about the hygiene standards at your restaurant. Furthermore, the orders we received were not up to par. My mother ordered the prawn steak, but it arrived undercooked. After sending it back, it was returned with basting sauce, which my mother clearly explained she could not have due to her dietary restrictions, her being highly allergic. After being sent back a second time, it appeared to be the same steak, but rinsed off with water. We finally received the correct order, but she then naturally had to eat her sides at a unappealing temperature This level of service is unacceptable, and it was disappointing to see that the kitchen was not able to meet even basic expectations. Lastly, although the manager on duty came to apologize for the poor experience, it didn't seem sincere. It was clear that the restaurant was not functioning at an acceptable standard. We thank the waiter, Richie, for trying his best to appease the situation. In addition to the previously mentioned issues, such as the messy restaurant and the undercooked prawn steak that was sent back multiple times, we also experienced further disappointments. We had to clean the cutlery ourselves, as it was dirty, and this added to our already negative experience. Furthermore, my nachos arrived burnt and completely dried out, which was not up to the expected standard. Additionally, my partner's chips were also uncooked, and the batter on the onion rings was burnt. These issues clearly indicate that the quality of the food was below average, and it was not prepared with care or attention to detail. Overall, this was easily the worst experience that I have ever had at a Spur restaurant. I am deeply disappointed that we had to spend our Mother's Day dealing with these issues and feel that our experience was not worth the money spent. I would appreciate it if you could address these concerns and take the necessary steps to ensure that these issues do not happen in the future.

Arriving my Girl friend arranged us a table and already off the bat a Manger named Joel or Joana or somthing like that the waiter told us his name as he never had a name tag on or anything like that, he was a terrible manager. We sat down then waited 20 minutes for me to see a manger or waiter. Manager never apologized for our wait or for the bad service nothing. Then the waiter Trevor was an amazing your gentleman who tried to turn our experience around. Then the food comes and let's start wow looks terrible and my onion rings and chips are fried and burnt and my prawns on the schnitzel are raw, send it back let me say this I've been to a few spurs in my day and this is the first and last time this spur will see me and my family. If rather eat at home than go through that kind of experience again.

Our experience at Sunset Bay Spur was utterly disappointing to say the least. I will Never visit that Spur again. We where seated outside with a very nice view of the beach. The area was extremely dirty and unhygienic. As we watched a waiter clear a table she swept all the left over food from the table on the floor and it was left there. When our sauces for our salad arrive I was even more disgusted. The first bottle had old blackened sauce on the bottle cap. We exchanged the bottle and was handed a bottle with a broken cap, needless to say the sauce has turned hard and yellow from being exposed. Looking around it became evident that this was common practise and the waiters was oblivious to the dirt on the floor and their level of service. We will Never visit that Spur again. Its institutions like this that harm the name of the franchise.

Great location with a great view over the beach with plenty of space for the kids to play. Lots of parking available on both sides. The food was decent, not the best Spur we've been to, but still quite nice (the hot veg option wasn't great). The Spur has a jolly vibe to it, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Overall, really good experience.

What a fantastic experience. The food was super fresh - I never had such delicious mushrooms anywhere ever. The server - Simba was an absolute pleasure. Would have loved to sit outside, but the weather was not very pleasant. Enough parking outside. Wheelchair friendly. Kids friendly. Vegan friendly.

I had a really bad experience, I'm not sure if it was due to fact that it was busy and we arrived late, to cut a long story short bcos in all honesty it was a horrible evening,from the coffee machine that was broken, to the presentation of the dish and really unappetizing veggies, they ran out of butternut, feta and spinach and decided to replace it with half cooked garden veggies, without my prior consent. The manager advised that it would never happen again, that was correct indeed, we will never dine at this restaurant again...The dessert was the highlight of the evening.

I think maybe the managers need to manage instead of looking like ditsy runway models... One manager is a bit of an airhead. Walked past her to go to my car and she greeted me saying "good bye" and not even a minute later I walked past her again and she greeted asking to seat me and for how many. This Spur is located on the beach at Gordon's Bay with seating inside as well as outside with a magnificent sea view. We were quite a big party but our waitress seemed very capable of addressing our needs.

This is a FAMILY RESTAURANT. No fine dining here. Good food. Good people with children being children. The service was very good. Brandon got our order right every time. We weren't in a hurry, but the orders came timely. This was my first time at a Spur after lockdown and I was not disappointed. The sunset was great.

Herman, and Pumeza made our stay on this mother's day so special and overall awesome by staying attentive and present throughout our visit. The service was phenomenal and we appreciate the wonderful attitude of all the staff. Thank you for making our disabled guests so comfortable too. Everyone smiled and greeted and helped where they could. A few absent minded but great nevertheless. Thank you for making our long drive worth it.

Went for the steak special R89. Service was quick ,friendly . Well informed Waitrons w.r.t. winelist and food menu.Covid protocols adhered to. The rump steaks were cold and was sent back.after that was rectified, the returned steaks were perfectly grilled to our request, medium to rare. Kiddies portion of quarter chicken and chips was given the thumbs up by a hungry 5 year old.highlight of visit...the icecream with all the sprinkles offered. Typically Good service for a bustling Spur on a balmy Saturday.

Ordered a beef burger for Monday Burger night. Had to order "medium to rare" twice. Both times I ended up with a well done (looked like previously frozen) patty. I had no option but to choose a chicken burger instead. My 1st review was a 1. Being served with thee most soft and succulent children burger made it a very satisfying 5. What a disaster breakfast today. Drinks orders took 30 minutes to arrive. My coffee almost 45 minutes. Ordered my eggs over easy and got rock hard eggs. Mushrooms were cold as well. Toast only arrived ten minutes after we recieved our breakfast. The two cheese griller breakfast only arrived after everyone else had finished. The sad thing is the restaurant was not even busy. Bad service all the way. At least the food tasted good.

I came in to Spur to place an order face to face. The manager Shirley/Sharlene took my Takeaway order. 40min sitting in the foyer, still waiting. She tells me she forgot. I will never go back there and will not recommend Sunset Bay Spur. If you wait that long for food with the Manager. What about the waiters she trained?!

Looks like spur is going the same way as the rest - flat burger patty, flat buns, cold onion rings and watery coke float. Rather go to tallas or thirsty oyster - much better value for money

One thing about this Spur is you will stand at the entrance and wait to be called in while waiters are standing and just looking at you and some pass you by, the last waiter I got looked like he did not even want to serve us. At least work

It's a fully functional Spur as per the franchise requirements, but this one is actually situated right on the beach with a spectacular view
