Good experience from a movie viewing point of view, with expected limitations that come with an outdoors/non planned seating arrangement. Make sure you get there early and choose a good spot to watch from, if you don't you might have people in your view with nowhere else to sit, it detracts from the viewing experience but you will stop noticing it after a while. People are expected to sit in rough areas based on what they sit on, eg someone sitting on a chair should sit further back as to not block the view of those who sit on picnic rugs, but that and things like no smoking didn't seem to be particularly enforced (see pictures below for an example of chairs being closer than people on beanbags) Overall the experience is pretty nice, you can rent a beanbag which I recommend if you don't already have someone to lean on. The drinks and food are priced according to convenience and not what they are but like all things, that to be expected as well.

Barefoot at Rippon Lea Estate is the best outdoor cinema I’ve been to! Like a mini festival, expect live music, delicious and independent drink and food options, lawn games and a relaxed setting in the beautiful gardens. The staff are lovely and there is heaps of room. I thought it was worth the money to sit in the VIP area (we didn’t have chairs we could bring) but the general seating would be equally lovely. We will definitely go again and would recommend this over the other big outdoor cinemas - Barefoot have really thought through their concept to make it a fantastic experience for customers.

Exceeding all my expectations by a long shot. I will say make sure you get there for the pre show activities / at the very least just arrive early to soak up the vibe , have a drink or eat . If you don't like the food they are selling you can bring your own. I think it was worth getting the VIP tickets, as they give you a choice of already positioned seat or bean bag ( first in best dress ) and offer you a free drink , pop corn and we also received a few freebies on the night ! They also give you a blanket. Take some warm clothes and aerogard!

We did go to Barefoot Cinema, but it was at the Rose Garden at Werribee Mansion..Had a gr8 night, with friends watching a Wonderful movie Ride like a girl..My only complaint was the toilets where to far away for people with knee, back, walking sticks any kind of injury/disability..

Great evening. Wonderful with kids if no school the next day as it does end up being a late evening. Big games and room for kids to run around. Both times I’ve been there was live mucus before the movie, worth checking out. Usually cools down, so good idea to bring warm clothes

Wow we had a perfect night . The weather was good. The atmosphere was great. I really recommend this for couples and groups of friends. The only thing it needs is a coffee van . No hot drinks. So bring your own if you like coffee or tea.

It's a wonderful thing, on a balmy night, to watch a movie outdoors. And with the lorikeets and cockatoos screeching at dusk, then the fruitbats flying in the dark, you get a real sense of Australian wildlife at these gardens.

was not bad, i recommend the botanical gardens in the cbd more though, the speakers were not very good quality and dialogue was hard to understand

Perfectly cosy spot for an outdoor cinema. Nearby parking my be a tad difficult to find, but the train station is just a short walk away

Far exceeded expectations. Sound, picture and screen size were excellent. Quite an impressive and well organised setup. Will go again.

I loved the place, the film and the concept, but recommend dressing warmer than you think, it gets unexpectedly chilly after sunset

Cute date night. Can't complain. It gets very cold at night so bring a blankie!

Set up is great, but minimal food options. Make sure you bring your own food.
