I was hospitalized for three days and am still sick and recovering at home from eating a shrimp bowl at Super Burrito on Saturday, July 31, 2022. I contacted the restaurant and left a message for the owner but no one has gotten back. It was such a severe case it almost warranted surgery. I almost died in the hospital. I have never been this sick in my life and am still in pain more than a week later. The whole rest of the summer is now ruined for me as I have to convalesce from this. I also am now socked with thousands in medical bills, all from one bad-tasting, food poisoning-inducing shrimp bowl! I am also now afraid to ever eat my beloved seafood out again due to the severity of this food poisoning. And, to make matters worse, It was the worst flavorless Mexican food I have ever had. It is bland, watery, and nasty. The salsa is like tomato sauce out of a can instead of salsa. I started to chuck it after a couple bites and am so mad I didn't follow my first instinct as I am now dealing with a long-term health issue from eating here. Stay far, far away. The food is nasty and it might make you sick or even kill you!

Coming from the perspective of an employee, and a customer of the Rockaway location, I can say that Super Burrito has made every effort it has to satisfy customers. Their food is fresh, filling, delicious, full of options with the ability to edit, and I have to say, it really is "Super". When you come to either location (Rockaway or Williamsburg) and order a burrito, you'll see why the word "Super' precedes it. It's no joke. It's massive, and there's even a guide on how to eat it, but once you do, you'll want to come back for more. And thankfully, there are more options than what the name tells you alone; Bowls, burgers, tacos, fries, quesadillas, and specials that appear on certain days. Don't worry, you can always come back. I really love to go here for a freshly made spicy quesadilla. They sometimes give free water inside. Great business here in Arverne (Far Rockaway). Courteous staff. They delivered during the pandemic. They have eat-in tables. You can order to pick up. The condiments are alittle pricey i.e., sour cream. Guacamole. Parking can be limited. The only thing I hope gets better is a few times they had mistakes on the order and/or charges. It can easily be corrected. Thank you for your business.

I was super excited to have another takeout option close by who offers delivery, so I immediately gave this place a try. My first few orders were amazing, and my whole family enjoyed their food (even the picky eaters). However, my last order was terrible, and this was the 3rd time this has happened. The rice in our burritos and burrito bowls was hard; it was inedible. The 1st time it happened, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking that perhaps it was late, and we just got old rice, but after my last order, I won’t be a customer anymore. I will say that we’ve ordered in between the bad orders and have gotten good food. However, it’s upsetting to order food after a long day of work and remote schooling, only to have the food arrive and be inedible. I doubt I’ll gamble again.

Tonight I called to speak to sombody about a order that I placed, unfortunately the order was messed up and I didn’t receive what I paid for nor did I catch the gentleman name that I spoke to on the phone but he did hang up very quickly when I called to tell him about the mistake he blocked my number from reaching the restaurant… I will never leave a bad review about any restaurant because how I was treated but that employees should know that’s not the way to go about business and I do cherish the food that my family eats and how delicious it is… god bless and I wish everyone a better night

This place has been my once every week lunch stop for since a year. But past 2 weeks they been messing up my order. 1st photo Aug 2nd forgot avocado though it's extra charge for it. And burrito full of rice more than usual. 2nd photo is today. Forgot avocado again. Asked for extra salsa but there is barely any salsa or no salsa. It feels only rice n beans. Light poblano was good. They know me as I have been ordering same thing always being a vegetarian. I wish they don't rush to make an order. I guess the guy who is making it has changed. I did call and let them know. They apologize coz they r nice people. But hopefully they don't mess it up again.

For the price I was expecting better quality. I’ve tried one of the best burritos but this one I can’t comprehend. On a burrito we should be able to enjoy the flavors all at once with one bite, and receive it cut in half so that the eyes eat first. It wasn’t cut in half. The rice on one side and stake on the other, rookie mistake. The “stake” was too chewy. Uh the salsa and chips :,( more like tomato soup and some random corn chips. The salsa and “tomato sauce” should be greatly improved. Very disappointed. Two stars for the name and location. Don’t know how they’ve gotten their score.

I'm thinking this was a fluke with the 1st incident. Now today, my doordash order wasn't delivered at all. Been on the phone with doordash, and hungry for almost 2 HOURS. I'm done after ready these reviews. 3/27/2023.. Its always something at this place. Payed for extras on my food, got home and nothing. I've learned and I'm done.

The whole experience here is excellent. I visited them when they used to be on the boardwalk, and I'm so excited that they have a year-round business, instead of just a summer thing. We ordered through their website, and chose pick-up. They tell you when they have your order through text, and when it's ready, they text you to come pick it up. Their burritos feed two people, easily. When you special order, they always listen. Highly recommended.

Large portions that are worth the price and it's delicious! This is the closest to california-style mexican food that I've had on the east coast so far. The chicken was seasoned a little spicier than I expected, but it wasn't overboard. Will definitely be going back!

Everyone has been saying this is the best burrito in nyc right now. And maybe they’re right? But that just says more about the rest of nyc burritos than anything. Carne asada was solid. The chicken was bizarre, tasted like it had way too much lemon pepper seasoning, and the salsa was absolutely pathetic. Like crushed tomatoes no seasoning no flavor. Not worth coming all the way out here and waiting like 45 minutes.

Wait was way too long , burrito was huge but room temperature and flavorless, chicken was weird color and very bland guy taking orders very pleasant even though I asked for beans on the side didn't get any! Don't understand why it would take almost 30 minutes to get something so tasteless.

Just meh. Ordered a bowl. Rice was a little hard and the pico tasted like it was a store bought. Lacking flavor overall.. Did not live up to the hype. Disappointing because I am all for supporting Rockaway local businesses but i think it’s time we get a Latino in there to help them out a little bit bc it does have a lot of potential. The space is cute and the staff was friendly.

As someone who grew up in the Bay Area, I can honestly say this is the closest burrito you will find to the mission-style one's SF is known for. The stretchy steam-warmed tortillas with fresh jack cheese combined with fresh pico and well-seasoned meat make for an almost unattainable level of authenticity. In addition to the spectacular food, the atmosphere is casual and festive.

The food here is so bangin! I eat here all the time with my friends whenever we are nearby. They have vegetarian options and different specials during the week- I love everything I’ve tried. I usually save half of what I get cuz portions are big. I met the owners once and they are so nice. So happy this place exists in rockaway.

Just ordered / finished the chicken burrito and it's as if I was transported to the Mission in SF. The burrito had some WEIGHT but neatly tucked into the tortilla, no mess. Enjoyed it so much and will absolutely be ordering from here again.

Awesome quesadillas. We had chicken and steak $2 extra for avocado and sour cream but definitely worth it. The quesadillas are big I couldn’t finish it myself. Definitely filling would love to go back and try the bowls.

Probably the worst burrito I've ever had in my life. One star is too many. Looked more like prison food and that's probably offensive to the prison chefs. Threw it out after a few bites as did my gf. $31 for two burritos and we waited 30 minutes, save your money.

The absolute best Mission Style Burrito! Made with high quality ingredients and a whole lot of SF ❤️. The Al Pastor is super authentic and the fresh Poblano pepper was my next favorite.

The food here is awesome along with nice size portions unlike Picos small portions that are overpriced. Finally a authentic Mexican restaurant in RB so many of the others sucked. I could eat this food every night it’s so tasty and delicious.

Absolute scam. They didn’t include the guacamole or sour cream I paid extra for. Looking at the reviews, not an uncommon occurrence. Nbd if these tasted good, but as someone who lived in San Francisco for 4 years - this doesn’t come close.

The birria tacos were amazing with the stew adding to the juiciness of the meat. The carne asade fries were super filling with a perfect ratio of fries to toppings. This place should definitely be on your radar if you are ever in the area.

Decent food, I suppose it may be more of a fusion style food rather than actual Mexican food. Being from Texas, I was hoping for Mexican food, but this wasn't it.

Best burrito on the East Coast! Hands down. Been eating at Super Burrito since they had a concession stand on the boardwalk and I'm so glad they finally have a year-round store. Eat here! You will thank yourself and be back for more.
