Pickleball court review: These courts are the fourth and fifth public pickleball courts in Ottawa! We need more of them desperately. However the contractors messed up the installation in a few key ways: 1. The court is 3 inches too wide on each side. 2. The posts were installed 20ft apart instead of 22ff apart. This makes it too easy to land around-the-post shots and makes your sense of whether the ball is out different from a normal court. 3. The cage around the court is a little too close for comfort. While playing today, I ran into the back wall and side wall while chasing balls. 4. The courts are a tad too close together and you often find other people and their balls on your court. 5. There is no wind shielding and no trees surrounding the courts which means that you feel the full brunt of the wind. Again, super grateful that these courts exist, but woefully disappointed in the clueless and amateur installation. Future development should consult a pickleball organization like the Ottawa Pickleball Association (OPA) to avoid these simple blunders.
Smallish park. Soccer field, splash pad, play structure, sand box, picnic shelter, small trees, short circle walk around park with great view of pond area and water fowl. Hundreds of geese in fall. Construction still happening close by with addition to park that will include a pickleball court. Pathway needs repair behind park and access is closed due to construction.
Always a great time when we get to head to the park on SweetValley Drive! All the equipment is clean, sand toys are shared, and the splash pad is fantastic. The parents, kids and pups that come to play are awesome, so there's never a worry about not having fun when we come to this park!
It’s a nice little park with a medium sized play structure and a small splash pad. Also has a swingset with two grown-up swings, one reduced mobility swing, and a baby bucket seat swing. Lots of room to run around in the nearby field. Nice view of the pond.
Good place to relax with friends and family; Not too crowded and ideal for picnics or small gatherings with sufficient space to respect public health guidelines
A nice small park for the kids with many structures to try. Within walking distance from home. The kids like going to different parks in the area.
Great park to walk the dog or spend time with your kids. It's still in development but I'd a nice place to walk and take in the scenery.
Nice small park with water system and coverage. No basketball court or hockey rink unfortunately. New pickleball court.
Perfect in all ways
