This Heritage Listed building is currently the Central Local Court House, Sydney. It is also known by other names as Sydney Central Local Court House, Police Law Courts and Central Police Court and is owned by the Department of Justice of the Government of NSW. It was completed in 1892 and added to NSW Heritage Registry in 1999. It's a stunning example of Federation Free Classical style architecture of sandstone and internal timber joinery. The architect was James Barnet. There's a grand staircase at the entrance with decorative balustrades. There's a lot more to this building block with holding cells and a caretaker's cottage. This is of great significance and importance to the history of this beautiful city of Sydney. Also of interest is the forecourt which is a landscaped garden of brick paved courtyard with mature trees, perfect spot for lunch time crowds. Worth exploring just for the magnificent setting and gorgeous heritage building.
I like to study law and I like to learn about cases especially family law. I go to Central Local Court to Inspect documents and to see court cases. It's very interesting to watch what the Judge and the jury do during a court case. The court house is in a good location, close to public transport and other places such as shops and cafes.
It's opposite World Square and stands out amongst all the surrounding shops and restaurants due to classic architecture. Nifty if you admire old buildings from a bygone era.
