"This is so far the best Hot and Sour soup I've had in DC, this is a solid Chinese delivery place, I've never stayed in to eat but I'm sure the dishes better served straight from the kitchen would be amazing! Delivery itself is fairly quick for DC as well"

This is so far the best Hot and Sour soup I've had in DC, this is a solid Chinese delivery place, I've never stayed in to eat but I'm sure the dishes better served straight from the kitchen would be amazing! Delivery itself is fairly quick for DC as well. I've had many of the standards and they've all been good, my last order however I decided to try Chow Mein for the very first time it was AWESOME, j don't know if this is indictive of the fish though since I've never bothered to order it anywhere else. I usually stick to the Szechuan dishes, but I've had many of the other offerings and liked them as well. The Wonton soup is good, not the best and I've had the egg drop soup, but again it was my first order of it and it was nice, not my cup of tea. This is how I feel about the dishes at any asian place I've been to and tried like hot garlic sauce dishes, I've had it at many places in DC and I just don't like it, but Szechuan house at least has the garlic I can see and the vegetables and meat are fresh. Living in SW there aren't as many options but Szechuan house should be at the top of your choices.
Ordered through Grubhub. I mistakenly reported the crab Rangoon (my first time trying this dish) missing because it was so skimpily filled with cream cheese that I mistook it for some version of the free fried noodles Chinese restaurants sometimes give away in wax bags. Maybe if they had a decent amount of crab in them, I would have actually tasted crab and not made the mistake in the first place. A woman at the restaurant called to confront me about my report. I politely told her I didn’t want her not to get paid for something I received and would look around for the food. When I said I couldn’t find it, she completely lost her temper and yelled about how she had placed it in the bag herself. When I had enough of her yelling, I hung up. She then had Grubhub call me which is when I finally realized my mistake and allowed them to pay her for the sub-par dish.

Went here for dinner and got takeout. Building was nice, service was nice, and I had no issue ordering online. My only issue is that the food had very little flavor. My wife and I ordered the crab rangoons, which only tasted like the sweet and sour sauce you dunk it in. The wonton soup tasted like a salted broth, and the wontons had no flavor. The hot and sour soup had some decent spice to it, but once again tasted like nothing. The chicken lo mein was fine, and the sesame chicken had little flavor. Overall, if you are a fan of La Croix or British cuisine, this is the place for you!

Very disappointed, my first time ordering from here. I ordered delivery, they brought my food and when I seen they messed up on my order that I paid $42.55. I called and let the lady know she said they will bring me the right order and I need to give back the food they gave me that was wrong. So then they brought me the food I ordered, but it was a small amount the wrong order was a full bowl and the second one they brought was half a bowl. Not happy at all and here I thought this was a nice place to get carry out. But again I'm disappointed and what a waste of my hard earned money.
I've ordered twice from here. 1st x: food was perfect & arrived ahead of estimated time. Loved the imperial shrimp 2nd x: food arrived an hour later than estimated. Food was still good, but not hot. My only disappointment (other than the delay; it WAS a Friday nite) was the rice noodle chicken soup. There is no chicken meat for this soup, just a chicken broth. Just be aware.

We’ve been ordering from here for a couple of months now. We always order directly from their website rather than Uber Eats and it’s usually the same guy who delivers it every time and he is the nicest, smiliest delivery driver ever! We really like the food, we’re not American so I can’t speak to it’s comparison to other chineses around here but it really reminds us of Chinese from home and it’s always hot and fresh. No issues ever and we’re really glad we came across it!
Never order delivery from them on a Friday or Saturday night. I ordered through BeyondMenu and waited 3 hours for nothing. They called me the following day to apologize for cancelling my order because their kitchen was overwhelmed. They never told me the night before that they were cancelling the order. Each and every time I called about the order they said it was being made and would be delivered. I did get a refund but will likely never order from them again!
We got carry out on Christmas Eve- a few days after Szechuan House reopened. We’ve been waiting for the restaurant to reopen and we’re are so happy it’s back in business! When we lived in Towson, this was our favorite place. We have since moved to Annapolis and the food is SO good, it’s worth the 45 min drive! Can’t wait to come back.

I ordered crispy shredded beef on June 28 and got a great meal - meat was great with no breading in sight. I just received my order of crispy shredded beef on August 2 and it is thick crusty chewy tasteless breaded pieces of who knows what without any sign of beef. Same menu item two completely different dishes. Do you not have standard recipes to follow? You get two stars because the spare ribs were good.
Worst Pad Thai I have ever had. It is literally rice noodles with chicken, without any sauce or flavor at all (aside from a random lime wedge they added). I also got the orange chicken, which was actually delicious. Maybe it was wrong of me to order Thai Food from a Chinese takeaway place, but it should have been labeled as "chicken with noodles and a lime" instead.
Delivery was fast, had my food before the eta time. The food itself, however, was just not OK. I got the orange chicken and chow fun. The orange chicken was very dry, barely chewable and I didn’t even get to eat half of it the chow fun was OK. It just didn’t have that much flavor to it.

Great little, local takeout and delivery! Occasionally been going here throughout the past year. It's not amazing, it's nothing special, and it's unremarkable for any special event, but it gets the job done! Very nice staff, and an order has never been wrong, and it's extremely quick. (10 minutes to cook, delivers almost immediately)
Hello. This is such a great restaurant indeed! I have been ordering from here for about 8 years. They are very professional and very friendly. You will not regret getting any food here at all. I will never stop getting their Egg Drop Soup and Veggie Egg Rolls. ENJOY

I would love to tell you the food was good, but I am pretty irritated that they lacked the knowledge to throw in A) napkins and B) Fork in order to eat the food. Into the fridge my food goes till 6pm tonight when I get home. Unbelievable. Lastly, some items are a little high priced compared to other Chinese Restaurants in the area.
This is the best Chinese takeout in the Waterfront/Navy Yard/Eastern Market area. The food is great quality, the employees are nice and helpful, and the delivery is prompt. I’m impressed that they always read my extra instructions in the online order and follow through. This is the only Chinese takeout I will order in the area. :)
Locating Eastern Market I want to say is next to Matchbox upstairs I want to display some do a lot of business because of where it's located but it has the best Chinese food ever and the best customer service it's quiet it's clean and a food tastes so good special the rice and it looks fresh that's the important thing.
Pricey but fast and pretty good. The sesame chicken was yummy, the crab ragoon was pretty good, ribs were pretty good. I didn’t like the pad Thai at all though. It seems a bit overpriced, but it was quick and easy and pretty good overall.

This is my favorite takeout Chinese food in DC. It's just the perfect comfort food that you want on a rainy night to eat too much with friends (or by yourself) and watch movies. Everything I've tried has been delicious and satisfying. I also ate in once, and the service was great! Definitely recommend this place.
If there is a zero star, I will choose that, The snack is over priced and not fresh. What is the worst is they will change the amount they charged afterwards. I bought 2 sesame ball and one taco cake for take out, total $6.75. They charged me 6.75 and adjust the amount to 8.1 afterwards!!
Best Chinese Szechuan style restaurant in DCGood Peking Duck! Here is a reasonably priced, very good quality and variety Chinese restaurant in DC. While most of the good Chinese restaurants have taken flight to the burbs, this one is still accessible to those who live in the city.
Had sesame beef and pork lo mein, the quality was middling at best, very chatty and tough beef. Doctors and offerings were okay, kinda generic American Chinese food, but the portions were super small considering the price.
Everything could have benefited from more fresh vegetables, but otherwise everything was delicious. I ordered the chicken with cashew nuts (extra spicy), Szechuan-style braised string beans, and Szechuan-style fried rice.
Excellent food. The wife and I spotted this upstairs jewel on 8th street, next to Medium Rare Restaurant. Ordered combination lo me in and and Szechuan shrimp; simply put. Delicious. We will return!
I order delivery from here regularly. It's my go to for Chinese in the city and it's delicious. The food is quickly delivered and piping hot. Prices are fantastic for the amount of food you get!
Best delivery Chinese to order in the area. Their mooshu and crab rangoons are wonderful. Order delivery directly in their website, not through a third party! Will be delivered fast that way.
Soggy pad Thai with weak flavor. I’ve had decent stuff here before but quality control appears to be an issue.

I ordered chicken pad thai noodles, orange chicken and chicken egg foo young. Delivery was quick and the food was delicious. Great prices too.
I love this place. It’s standard Chinese-American takeout but it’s always solid and the owner is lovely. Excellent hot and sour soup, too.
Excellent take-out, friendly staff. Really, really, good General Tao's Tofu. Easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.
Not sure why there are bad reviews. I ordered very good combination Pad Thai and egg rolls.i will go back again!
The dumplings were awesome. The rice was very well cooked although it was a delivery. The meat was very tender.
Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, maybe it was the hair in my food... But I won't be eating here again.
Slow delivery service. Overpriced for less than average tasting food. Don't waste your money or time.
The food arrives quickly hot, and full of taste. Third time customer and highly recommend..
The Best tasting Chinese cuisine in the Navy Yard / Eastern Market / Capitol Hill area.
