Tack Room is a great concept. The Thalia Hall triple combo (cocktail lounge, Michelin star restaurant, and grandiose concert hall) needed a fourth addition, and a piano bar is the perfect complement. I've been to Tack Room several times. Each time the atmosphere is either great or nice, the bartenders are quick friendly and cool, and the food is always worth the price. However, I always go before the piano music starts at 9 PM. Why is the piano music so bad at a piano bar? I'm guessing because the owners don't pay for musicians to come and play actual piano music. The potential is great, but they don't even try. Don't expect to hear jazz, great contemporary covers, nor actual micro-concert pieces. Don't even expect a good pianist to come in and jam on things they've been working on. The "piano music" is 80's radio covers done by one of the same 3-4 pianists. Expect to hear "This Is How You Do It," and "Piano Man." Don't expect "The Road To Memphis," nor "Clair De Lune." This is a real bar, without real piano music and its very disappointing. The DJ sets before the "piano music" starts are great though! They should really make this place as cool as it possibly could be.
Arrived and was busy drag queen show. Staff walked past several times, but no greeting. After 10 min we went to bar to order drinks and wait. Still no greeting. After 20 min, show was over and it started to empty we sat at table. Flagged staff down after another 15 min to clean table and let them know we wanted to order. The menu was very limited which can be a snag for those of us with some dietary restrictions. I ordered Gnocchi knowing I'd can't have a lot of the gnocchi itself, but the multiple accompanying veggies should suffice. While flavor & quality was fantastic, the veggies were literally tiny and may have filled a tablespoon or two. My $17 meal left me disappointed. Once the staff was paying attention they were very friendly, but between ignoring us (all I would ask for is a greeting) and the selection I would not return.
First time here but I doubt I'll return. Waitress was fine but the meal was disappointing. Ordered the chicken and waffles; the chicken was not only incredibly salty but very greasy, to the point that there was a small pool of grease underneath. Waffles were smaller than expected but fine. Additionally, the way the menu read, sweet potatoes were supposed to be a side but turns out there were sweet potato chunks in the waffles. Ambience was nice, though the music a bit loud, but it was live, so to be expected; would consider returning just because of that.
Intimate bar that is attached to Thalia Hall and Dusek's. Cocktails average $10 but are very much worth it, and with beer as low as $3. They typically only open Thurs.-Sat. but they tend to have live diverse entertainment (pianist taking song requests, local artist, etc.) Overall, a good place to chill with either a significant other or with a small group of friends. Bartenders are super nice and fair in terms of getting to the next person's order.
Fun atmosphere, cozy vibes and good music.

Thank you, Tack Room, for having Rene Avila's Afro Cuban Band tonight! They were soulful, I was vibin' and having a great time the entire evening. All I had was a spicy margarita and wings, and you even nailed that. I can't wait to experience another one of your guests again!

I visited this place over the weekend and I have to say it was a great experience. Although I did not try any food items. I did however try a bunch of the drinks and I have no complaints on any of them. Crafty and unique is what I would call them. My favorite area would have to be at the bar next to the live piano performances
This was an awesome bar. We loved the piano, it was great! The pianist knew most requests and did a great job working the crowd. Beer selection was adequate but the bartenders were helpful in making a selection. I'm never in this area of town, but I know that if we do find ourselves back down there, I'm sure we'll return!
The desserts were so unique and delicious!! Seriously, do not miss them ! The drinks were great! I asked the bartender if he would make me my favorite drink, a kir royal and he did and it was awesome! The piano player was awesome!! Music was beautiful and memorable,!! Really cool joint ! Highly recommend!
Love this bar so much. The cocktails, the ambience, the food (we always get the oysters). It's great on all fronts. But having the piano bar performances really tops it off. Never too crowded, a great neighborhoody feel. Bring a couple friends on a Saturday night.
Some of the best cocktails in the city, with a great crowd and some very surreal decor. Desserts are excellent and very unique. Only complaint is that the sound system was in terrible shape on my last visit. It really took away from an otherwise great dj set.
Great piano bar! The bartenders are very friendly, and the crowd is outgoing. Love that the pianist takes requests, but the two I've encountered aren't up to speed on Broadway musicals. But what they do know can be very fun. A gem in Pilsen
This place used to be a horse stable. The exposed brick is lovely. The chalkboard list of cocktails is rendered in such tiny print that you'll wonder if your prescription needs strengthening. You are not getting any younger.
Loved it, great food, good drinks, and service was pretty good too! Very nicely decorated for holidays and intimate space so easy to have a conversation, there was even live music which was sort of like piano man style.
Cool looking little piano bar. The food was good and there were plenty of drinks. Their piano night performers are very impressive and entertaining. It's a great way to spend a night in the city.
I love everything about Thalia Hall, and the Tack Room is another hidden gem there. The hours are limited, but I highly recommend stopping in for a drink and a song at the piano when it is open.
dear google friends, my experience at tack room was lit. but the lit-est of the lit was homegirl in the turquoise pullover cleaning the hell out of those candles. they were lit too.
Nice little cozy piano bar adjacent to Duseks. Seemed chill and the drinks were good. All 3 establishments (Duseks, Punchbowl, and Tack Room) in the building are great.
One of my favorite bars, piano bar!! Drinks were good, good music and fun place. It gets crowded later at night. I would definitely recommend this place for cocktails.
Such a chill and awesome spot! Joel the piano magician is absolutely incredible and has an endless repertoire of music! Killer vocals! Love this place …
Great spot for a drink, love the ambiance. They usually have live music, and always have fantastic cocktails. Limited food menu, but it's all delicious.
It's a nice change of pace at Thalia hall, drinks are alright, the musicians are good, the service is great, and it gets crowded later in the evenings.
The old fashioned is very well balanced and sweet.

You just can't beat a piano bar that's also a cocktail bar that's also so comfortable that everybody fits in!!
Fun place. Better to sit outside at night because theres better lighting for pictures. Service was excellent.
The drinks aren't that great. Service was ok, piano music was not the best very typical billy joel requests.
Piano bar on a Friday night and it was amazing. Staff if friendly and the cocktails.are delicious.
Hidden gem in Pilsen inside of Thalia hall. Great piano bar with good drinks and interesting food.
Great intimate bar for incredible craft cocktails and fantastic, usually local, live music.
Such good Christmas vibes and very fun piano man! Cocktails were festive and delightful.
