  • "This library is great"

"The DCPL Takoma Park has an extremely helpful and accommodating staff"

"Pros: - friendly/helpful staff - very close to metro - nice community around the library Cons: - library is small and has limited digital resources - only 4 tables to do work at - there are no quiet areas and the open space means you hear everything going on in the library - the kids who visit are very loud and little is done to keep them quiet - no study rooms I don't recommend going to this library if you need to do serious work or reading"

"I appreciate the location, materials, and workspaces"

"want to shout out how amazing this library and the greater dc library system is! where else can you have access to books and other resources (in print and online), free computer use and printing, covid testing, voting, and e-recycling (just to name a few services they offer)"

This library is great. If you want any book in the DC Library system, all you need do is order it (through the online system) and it'll arrive at this branch in a day or two. The scanning part of the printer allows you to scan anything for free and send it to your own or someone else's email. Printing is just 15 cents per copy. The staff is helpful and attentive. There is another review giving this library two stars, but that reviewer states that he is actually reviewing the google mapping function associated with the library -- not the library itself. I hope he revises his rating to accurately reflect his thoughts on the library.

The DCPL Takoma Park has an extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Despite having heard the same question for the millionth time, the staff members come to your assistance with a smile and willingness to help. They’ve hosted some very interesting speakers on topics relative to searches on your family tree and significant DC locations on the Underground Railroad to freedom for African Americans. The property is in a safe and pleasant DC neighborhood. I strongly urge and support the use of this vital facility!

I appreciate the location, materials, and workspaces. The staff abides by rules which is great but I don’t like how they don’t allow adults to use the adult sized work table in the back of the library. It is reserved for children however, even when no other patrons are using the table or even at the library they will make a fuss if you try to use the table even if it’s not occupied.

I am a teacher at Whittier Education Campus. i have taken my classes to this library for the past eight years. The children's librarian, Mrs. Krell is always very helpful in planning trips, selecting books, securing library cards and ensuring our library experience is of high quality. I am grateful that each student is aware of this valuable lifetime resource in our community.

My 10-year old loves using this library and wanted to leave a review about how awesome this library is. It has an incredible selection and easy-to-use interlibrary loan! Librarians have created a welcoming environment for kids to navigate independently, and are always ready to help when questions arise.

A very small building with a very helpful staff. Most of the time it's quiet, which is rare these days, even at libraries. We all suffer from screaming babies and loud-mouthed children wanting attention. Street parking starts at 9:30am and the parking Nazis definitely patrol.

Growing up I went here, my children and now my grands use this library. Everyone is always friendly & helpful. The selection of different mediums is much more than you would expect for a small location.

This a very cool and clean library. The librarians are always nice and informative. They have a nice amount of computers and a eclectic selection of books. Reading Rainbow should tape an episode there.

The new librarians could have a little less of an attitude when I try to check out a book but other than that it's pretty decent.

This property was originally my family’s property, Thomas and Hazel Fitzpatrick, they raised seven children there.
