I placed my order and was told it would be a bit of a wait because the burgers are grilled fresh to order After around 8 minutes the person who I assume is the owner had come out with a massive burger; 1/2 of pure beef with grilled mushrooms, onions, and omg the cheese The owner had gotten me some condiments so I could enjoy my meal"

This place is the most amazing place in all of fisherman's wharf. I used to work in the neighborhood, and there were the usual overpriced tourist choices and our building was always joking that there was not any really good restaurants around Fisherman's wharf that didn't cost an arm and a leg. And then when I had almost given up, I saw this food truck, and I was sold after the first bite. The secret is that they are making food with love and it's totally under $15 for a meal. it's my favorite restaurant in all of San Francisco. The food is worth the wait, because everything is cooked fresh. Best stationary food truck in San Francisco.and there is a covered patio built off of the truck. Love, love, love that place

This is an Argentinian restaurant and I. Argentina they like their steak. So, if you like meat, you will be in heaven, but if you don't eat meat, there are quite a few options.

For SF, there is an abundance of available parking. There is a garage literally across the street.

This place is an absolute gem and it's lucky we walked past it on the way back to the hotel! The chicken sandwich was out of this world (highly recommended), you can taste the goodness of the charcoal flames from the freshly grilled chicken. i didn't take note of the early closing time 6:30pm otherwise it would have been Tanguito's for dinner again. there are too many delicious places to eat in san francisco and being a visitor, you want to sample as many different foods here as you can but i have no trouble going back here again! i'd like to order the tanguito angus steak burger but the chicken was soooo damned good i'm not sure i'll order anything else but i'm sure it's just as ridiculously tasty! i would like to apologize for not taking any pictures of the food as it was too good and devoured before you can say tanguito chicken sandwich thank you tanguito! edited to add a photo and to say i was very disappointed to turn up and find you closed on a Monday! my last day in the city and wanted one more amazing chicken sandwich for the road. it should be crime for you to close! I'LL BE BACK GUYS!!!

Title: Unmet Promises and Dismissive Attitude Review: I visited this restaurant with the expectation of receiving my food within 10 minutes, as promised. Unfortunately, the reality was far from it. The wait stretched to over 30 minutes, testing my patience and leaving me dissatisfied. To add to the disappointment, when I raised my concerns, the response I received was shockingly dismissive. The owner's offer to refund my money and give the food to someone "with more patience" felt like a complete disregard for the inconvenience caused. Punctuality is crucial in the service industry, and this experience fell short of the basic commitment the restaurant made. I hope this feedback encourages a reevaluation of their promises and customer service approach!

Delicious choripan and empanadas!! This place is a permanent truck with tables and seating on the back (No restroom though). Also cash only. The lady was really nice and pleasant and our order came out fairly fast (the empanadas came a couple minutes after seating down and choripan came around when we were done with the empanadas). Choripan is chorizo+pan, meaning the chorizo sausage (different from Mexican chorizo, but basically a tasty sausage) in a bread with some onion and sweet pepper. It's quite fulfilling, specially if you also order some empanadas to share. $9 Empanadas were hot and so good, with noticeable chunks of egg and olives along the beef. (Other options available too). $4 each

I was struggling to finish the burger but I pushed on just because it was so delicious! Needless to say, I won't be going to innout for burgers whenever I'm in San Francisco anymore!

Had the chiropan Italian sausage sandwich and it was really tasty and astonishingly affordable considering this is SF and in the tourist area. I have never been to Argentina, so I can't speak to the other reviewers claims re authenticity, but it is good. Very good service, and you can sit either along the sidewalk and people watch or in their little patio. If you are in the area, this will hit the spot.

Amazing short ribs, solid empanadas and very tasty chimi churri. Great Argentinian experience over all. I would also add to the list of things to try at Tanguito the Milanesas with fries and egg, a true Argentinian tradition. There were freshly made on the spot and tested great. Sunday’s lunch time you will find many tables filled with people from Argentina and that’s a good sign.

The meat is to die for! You don’t need to pay a fortune to get the best Argentinean barbecue! The place is not fancy, or posh, a truck near Fisherman’s wharf, outdoor sitting, but what matters is the quality of the meat and cuts, and the love and perfection of the preparation. They only have soft drinks but it’s ok to take your own drinks! And they are so nice and welcoming!

Prob one of the best hole in the wall/food truck places I’ve ever tried! Very unassuming but the food is immaculate! You get more than what you paid for! We tried the empanada, which is unexpectedly super stuffed I love it! We had the Milanese with garlic fries and steak with rice - would get it again! And Steven is such a darling, he made it sure that we are getting the best food experience.

This place is INCREDIBLE. I am Argentinean, living in the US but only visiting San Francisco. I haven’t found a more authentic place of our cuisine in any other part of the US. The owner and cook is really gentile. The menu portrays our main dishes and desserts. Highly recommended. Furthermore, price is accesible

The choripán and the garlic fries are 5 stars. The beef empanada was dry and needed more flavor or chimichurri sauce on the side for dipping. The service is fast and all the food was made to order.

I'm Argentinian, and I'm quite picky about empanadas. Most "Argentinian" empanadas in the US are pretty bad and not super authentic. This place on the other hand was amazing and the real deal. New favorite place in San Francisco!

Overall I got a plesant experience, I was told to try the hamburger with chimichuri but I went tor the Steak Sandwich instead [crispy bread, lots of juicy steak, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, and bell peper] it has big enough for 2 but I was really hungry. Great place for families, no spicy food but if you want Bettina can add some spicy peppers.

We had to wait like 10-12 minutes , but THERES A REASON FOR THAT. The food was authentic, delicious flavorful, amazing! Listen, it’s so freaking good! What a hidden gem! Loved it so much!, and I’m from out of town and tried lots of different cultured foods. This is one of the best.

Maybe not the prettiest food truck, but the Filet Mignon Sandwich is just awesome! There’s couple of tables providing covered outdoor seating. Definitely recommended and for sure we’ll go back here. You might have to really look for this food truck, it’s not parked on the street but tucked away a little. Just make sure to find it!

  • Sara Mudd

I had the pleasure of eating at Tanguito on my recent trip to San Francisco. I got the ham and cheese empanada. It was so warm and flaky and flavorful! I made friends with Estevan (sorry if I am misremembering your name, my friend) and felt like I was at home. Please do not sleep on this gem! Thanks again ❤️ More

  • Cheyenne

Best empanadas de rez (beef empanadas) I’ve ever had. 10/10 i would definitely go back just for the empanadas. The guys are super nice too. the crust has a very nice flavor and the seasoning is just enough so you can still taste the beef. They don’t skimp out in the meat either

There is no way you can go wrong here. Tanguito is a gem between all embarcadero overpriced-tourist-traps. Carne asada plate with rice was amazing! Perfectly cooked steak that mixed perfectly with the rice. The plate was full of flavor and less than $15. The Crepa de Dulce de Leche is a must! …

Had a delicious steak sandwich. The staff/owners are really friendly. The empanadas also looked really tasty (table next to mine were enjoying them). I will definitely recommend if you are around the area for a quick relaxed lunch.

  • Tracey Siu

Steak sandwich was superb! Empanadas were a little disappointing. Pastry crust was too thin and fell apart even before I bit into it. Would order the steak sandwich again even though it was $17 but not the empanadas.

  • Jarom Giles

Amazing burgers !! Super tender and juicy 1/2 pound burger with grilled onions and mushrooms. The garlic fries were fresh, perfectly cooked and so yummy. Definitely eating here again next time I’m in San Francisco.

  • Boris Valencia

This place is a hidden gem in the San Francisco area. It is less than a 10 minute walk from Pier 39. The prices are extremely affordable for the amount of food provided. Great food truck. It was a 10/10 in my book.

  • Erick Farruggia

Burned hamburger and choripan. The choripan was not made/cooked on argentinean style. My whole family complained. Expensive, no good food, not worthed. Honestly I hope this helps them to improve/change their chef.
