You will leave the doors of Telfer and enter a market where we all compete against one another. For jobs, food on the table, a roof over our heads, a really beefy LinkedIn profile... Overall a pretty intimidating environment to be in right after graduation! However, there's also an element of compassion that Telfer teaches you... You sometimes should do things because it's genuine and you believe in it. Helping someone out is realizing that, if this is not a job for you, perhaps someone else you know can get some help too! Giving back is equally as important and receiving something because you earned it through hard work! Similarly, being a part of Telfer School of Management means being a part of a highly competitive environment, but most importantly its about being a part of a family. We will compete with each other, support each other and potentially hire each other for years to come! Never burn any bridges or close any doors, you never know, you may run into a Telfer almuni in the not so distant future. At Telfer, your expectations of simply receiving "just an education" is going to feel distorted, especially once you realize that you will leave the walls of Telfer with friends you will keep for life. Telfer. Not just an education, it's a foundation to your future!

I learned much more in the work field in 6 months and in Amazon business books, than the three years waisted in university with high tuition. Most teller teachers are too old and not able to keep up their knowledge in this fast pace marketplace that we are in today. What they teach is only the basics and fundamentals, you don’t really need to spend years learning. You can easily learn that yourself from any business book. I don’t attend classes but have a good grades. Overall they are just training mediocre workers for the benefit of the society and not entrepreneurs, their teaching method limit your ability to think outside of the box. If you want to have a mediocre life and a mediocre/steady or gouvernement job, sure go to the university but if you want to stand out, think outside of the box. Technology advancement have changed so much things in the past years and there are so many opportunities to start off your career. Have an idea? Just do it! Anyway, my goal to attend university was to expand my network and look for future business partners and I think I achieved some of that which was my only gain from these years in Telfer.

Although I am still currently pursuing my Marketing degree in the Co-operative Education Program, it is safe enough to say that my 4 years at Telfer so far have been amazing. Since involving myself with the clubs and the events that they have to offer, I have grown my network and made a lot of valuable connections through its endless networking opportunities. One of my favourite experiences so far is definitely ADM 2381 - Business Communication Skills. This class was very memorable for me as I not only got out of my shell through doing presentations, but I was also successful in the course even with such a big learning curve. I went from being completely scared of public speaking, to being opened to the idea that I could potentially work on this skill and be successful with it. I can’t wait to see where all these great experiences/opportunities will take me in the future!

I had an amazing experience in my four years at the Telfer School of Management! I've met some amazing people and learned valuable lessons about the business world, that I've applied every day. There are so many resources available free for all the students attending the school and I highly recommend taking advantage of them. These resources helped my learning experience and helped me find a career that I enjoy. Additionally, the professors love to see their students succeed. The profs go beyond teaching classes or expecting good marks; they will help you in your journey by writing references and pointing you in the right direction when looking for advise. It is clear that they care about their students by making sure the time they spend at school is worth it. I honestly don't believe I could have gotten a better experience from another University.

This is not meant to be a criticism just a disclaimer. If you/and or your child wants to work in the government in Ottawa or any of the govt related agencies then this is the school for you. If you would like to work in the capital markets, in NYC, London, HK, or Toronto then I would strongly suggest schools like Queens, Ivey, Rotman, and Waterloo. Your chances of finding your way to the capital markets from UOttawa is approximately 1%. I say this as one of the lucky ones. Edit: The response of the alumni engagement coordinator asking for me to reach out to him instead of vice versa is pretty much all you need to know about how Telfer works and why it'll never be a target school. My intention was to leave a dispassionate and honest review so I'll just stop myself here...

Cult-like culture I removed my degree from Telfer to have more space on my resume to include hard skills that were not taught in school, and I got the job. I had just graduated back in May 2020. To everyone thinking of going to this school for 4 years, don’t bother. Employers don’t care bout degrees because everyone know they are useless. Yes this school provides coop and whatever, but to trade 4 years for some extra-curricular activities? Hell no. I pretty much did the bare minimum at this school to work on projects and take on hard skills to be employable at the end. By the way, this school has some serious values problems. The school itself is very cult-like with their obsession with control and suits. 4 years after and I felt completely brainwashed by them.

The networking opportunities offered at Telfer are unparalleled. Not only is it close to everything, but the clubs events, conferences and out of class learning opportunities are amazing. I did my undergrad minor at Telfer and, 6 years later, I'm about to go back to do my MBA. (Telfer is one of only 2 schools in Canada to have the triple crown accreditation, the highest designation a Business/Management school can have.) The campus is extremely diverse and inclusive. Whether you are looking at this school to do an undergrad or graduate studies, or if you are considering Telfer for employment opportunities, you'll have a great time, especially if you take advantage of all the services, free events and conferences the School has to offer.

Telfer marries strong academics with real-world experience leaving you a force to be reckoned with when you graduate! Personally, I had never felt like a number in the program. The professors are always open to having conversations and becoming mentors, if you show the interest! Telfer not only shaped me through academics, it gradually, but firmly continued to shape me personally. It teaches you resilience, perseverance, while providing you with all the support and motivation to be the best student you can be! It made me love learning! Being part of the Telfer alumni is a privilege and an honour that I will continue to represent throughout my career! I highly recommend Telfer! I miss it there!

The Telfer School of Management is an incredible place that facilitates professional skill building, and personal development. Through my years here, I have worked with building staff, professors, administration, and students. I can confidently say that it is through Telfer, that I met my best friends, gained the most impact experiences, and was provided the most rewarding opportunities to engage the student community. The community of both students and faculty members work hard to constantly hold events that engage students and provide value to their career development. The building itself is well kept, and the best part of it are the communities that embed themselves within DMS.

The overall experience at Telfer was nothing short of amazing! I changed as a person attending the school. While I can be an introvert in many scenarios - I found the opportunities I had at Telfer allowed me to push those boundaries and do things outside of my comfort zone. The clubs are a great way to get involved and to become part of the larger network of students that are making a difference for their fellow students. I was very involved Managers without Borders (now Telfer International) and it allowed me to meet international students from all over the world and have a larger appreciation for different cultures. Great school with many opportunities for all students.

During my undergrad, I completed two co-op terms with the marketing team at the Telfer School of Management. Throughout my placements, I learned all about digital marketing, what it takes to be a leader, and how to use my knowledge for good. The team supported me throughout my undergrad and continue to support me as a recent alumnus. I highly recommend new students to participate in the program—It will take your career to the next level!

  • Janelle Mansfield

I found that the Telfer School of Management's MBA program prepared me to take that next step in my career by coupling classroom learning with real-world experience of case studies, consulting project and a myriad of other non-classroom based activities. The quality of education was top notch, and there was a good mix of experience from the students within the program to round out the shared learning opportunities.

I attended this school for my undergrad. It opened so many doors. I think this school really flies under the radar relative to how strong the program is. Ottawa offers so many high paying jobs in government and technology. If you want to become a leader working towards solving major Canadian challenges, look no further as Telfer provides the background and credentials needed to do so. Highly recommended.

  • Bryan Baggio

I attended Telfer for my undergraduate. Telfer allowed me to connect with the right people, which kickstarted my eventual career. I enjoyed all my part-time profs because they shaped their lectures on real-life/relatable events. They had tremendous knowledge and many things that I learned I can still apply today. I would recommend to any student considering an undergrad in business!

My time at Telfer was nothing short of amazing. The classes offered really prepare you for the world after university. I was able to secure a job in the industry I wanted right out of university and that is a testament to the networking events held, the high standards, and overall experience I had while at Telfer. 100% would recommend Telfer to anyone looking into business school.

  • A. N.

Terrible choice for graduate studies. The standards for admission are flimzy so you are likely to end up with very ill-prepared or completely unprepared students in your cohort. The program is rigid and not suited for well-established professionals. Overall, extremely disappointing graduate level experience. I do not recommend, especially if you will drive from outside Ottawa.

  • Rebecca Stiletto

From clubs, case competitions, career centre events, and the co-op program Telfer has created so many opportunities for me. My four years at Telfer have pushed me to learn and grown as a student and now as a young professional entering the work force. I have made so many valuable connections while having a lot of fun. I couldn't recommend Telfer enough!

  • Fiona Doomasia

In addition to the interesting courses, the reason I love Telfer is because of the opportunities that it has given me through its many extra-curriculars and connections. It's because of this that I've gotten to connect with so many smart people, while having fun in school clubs, case competitions, career development programs, and more.

March 2023 graduated from this amazing faculty. Great professors that taught me well. More and more going on every year. There are many events to engage current students and alumni. I like to stay in touch and attend various events. The next upcoming engagement is the CEO of the Year breakfast with Kyle Braatz (7:30 - 9:00.a.m.).

  • Shae Beiersdorfer

Loved my 4 years at Telfer! They have endless opportunities to get involved and advance your learning outside of classes. Amazing Co-op program that set me up for a career in my field right after graduation (even during the pandemic). Great teachers and students - Telfer feels like a family and I already miss it!

  • Maddie Woo

The courses were interesting and taught by some amazing profs that really care about their students - but the best part are extracurriculars like clubs, the co-op program, career centre events, and business competitions. The experience definitely set me up for success in the future.

  • Samuel Benhamou

After hearing from a ton of other students from other business schools, Telfer's sense of community is something that is incomparable to anything else. Everyone around you wants you to succeed and will do everything they can to help you succeed.

IF YOU WISH TO WORK IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR, DON'T COME HERE. This school makes you a good government worker. Otherwise, it is pretty useless. Poor curriculum, bad professor, dilapidated faculty management, everything to make your 4yr horrible.

  • Russ Morgan

Amazing institution! Every part of my experience at Telfer was positive. I learned a lot which helped to set the foundation for my career. Moreover, I was able to make lifelong friends and business connections.

  • Christopher Flores-Lyons

Mixed use building part of the University of Ottawa and home to the Telfer School of Management. Has many classrooms, offices, a library, study spaces, student clubs and a few convention spaces too.

  • Ehsan Pooladi

Everything is awesome: inspiring faculty, great students, flexibility of the programs, and a lot of student support from staff and especially the career centre.

  • Omer Beheisi

A very expensive place to obtain a degree in business or MBA, still links its graduates to a wide network of career options
