I purchased a buttercream cupcake today and while it looked beautiful, it was inedible. The cake itself was hard and tasted stale. It hadn’t been in the fridge after purchase and was eaten an hour after I bought it, so it wasn’t a refrigeration issue. It was just bad cake. (The icing was fine). This is the second time this has happened. The first time I just though maybe I had an off cake but after giving them another go, maybe that’s just how they make their cupcakes. At $4.90 each it’s very disappointing to have basically tossed $10.00 in the bin. I’m still giving them 2 stars because the staff were very friendly and efficient and the food looked good. Also I can’t rate anything other than the cupcakes so that’s all my 2 stars relates to. UPDATE: The owner responded and said "There might have been a mistake in stock handling as we are very keen on keeping our cake nice and fresh all the time. We are working so hard to improve on this issue and hope to see you back in store next time for another treats (sic)." I have to say that being invited to go back to the store to buy something else after having two bad experiences is an example of terrible customer service. Why would I give you more of my money when I've actually just reviewed your products and explained they were so bad they werre inedible? I've revised my rating and given you 1 star. I will not be going back to this store ever.

Bought a Meat Pie and a Sausage Roll. Two stars for the pie. Zero stars for the sausage roll. The Sausage roll? My god, it was disturbingly vile. Wouldn't pass muster as prison or dog food. Most of its content was pulped, uncooked frozen onion. I could taste only cold, raw, thawed onion. And the texture was pulp in a mush way, not in a meat way. I could taste a pepper note but there was no taste of meat, only soft pap and raw defrosted onion. The pastry was thick stodgy white flour and grease. This Sausage roll has the sad pride of being the worst I've tasted in my life. The pie was better. It was standard fare for a takeaway, bakery or servo. Crumbly short crust, lots of thin sliced Champignon de Paris (button mushrooms) on top and underneath there was meat, and a very gelatinous gravy. The meat was a bit too gristly but the gravy had a good, savoury and pepper taste. Perfectly edible. SUMMARY: Good mushrooms, okay crust, passable meat and gravy a little gristly therefore: Two stars all up. This is the first and only time I've been to this bakery and I won't be returning. A quick visual scan on entry told me there were muffin-sized cup-cakes with radioactive coloured sprinkles at $4 each. Who is buying this stuff??

I am personally one whom loves to support local businesses, so i decided to try out 'the Albion Bakehouse'. This was my first and last time i have purchase from this place. I was deciding on what i was wanting and the asian lady was watching me like a hawk (very uncomfortable). She then say's, "have you decided yet?!" I was clearly still looking, she was trying to rush me. I decided on what i wanted and she couldn't even smile or be pleasant. I ended up buying one of their "in shop made" chocolate slices and multi-grain bread. The chocolate slice was so bland and hard, not worth $4.80 and the bread was literally stale, hard, stiff and chalky. Like it has been sitting on the shelf for days. Yuck! I'LL NEVER GO BACK -BAD SERVICE -HORRID PRODUCT Good luck to them with their attitude and overpriced junk.

Very impressed. Pre ordered 6 x Banh Mi cut in half (mixed - BBQ pork, lemongrass chicken), 20 x rice paper rolls (mixed - prawn & pork, prawn & avo, grilled chicken, lemongrass chicken), and sausage rolls for a party. The presentation was excellent. Everything was fresh, tasty, and very popular. Such a fantastic option for catering. Will definitely do so again. Thanks very much for such wonderful Vietnamese bakery fare.

Dropped in to grab a bite of lunch today. Their pies looked enticing, so I decided to try the curry chunky steak. Very flavoursome and just the right amount of curry. Hot, but not overdone. Generous on the steak. Nice crispy pastry. Would certainly rate this as one of the best. Hence the 5 star. Great friendly service with a smile. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending to family and friends!!!

Unfortunately this is a bakery that can’t bake bread.. This is the second time I’ve purchased a sourdough loaf and arrived home with bread that was tunnelled with giant holes and couldn’t be used. I thought the first time was a one off. Trying to support a local business is hard when the quality is repeatedly so poor. Please work on your recipe!

I recently ordered takeout from Albion Bakehouse and let me tell you, their Vietnamese grilled chicken salads are absolutely amazing! I can confidently give them a 5-star review without any hesitation. The freshness of the ingredients, the perfect balance of flavors, and the generous portion size make this dish an absolute winner!!

I did love the chunky beef & mushroom pies, although they never seemed very hot. Now they have changed the chunky pies to cheap mincemeat whilst putting up the price to $6. The pasties are now smaller as well. I mentioned the change of pies to the girl there and she just giggled. BRING BACK THE CHUNCKY PIES PLEASE!!!!

  • Sajeda Krishna

Bought their chicken and vegetable pie, bbq pork banh mi and multigrain bread! Everything was so tasty. The pie is so flavoursome! Not your average chicken pie The banh mi was just as good, crunchy and full of the fresh viet flavour! So glad I finally tried this place as Albion Central is our local! …

Just finished wolfing down a pie from the Albion Bakehouse. It was really very good. The pastry was perfect and the filling was delicious. I also bought one bread roll which I will try later. I will definitely be back for more pies. If the bread is as good as it looks, I will be back for more of those too.

  • Gregg Goriss

Their Gỏi cuốn or nem cuốn (Summer Rolls) were a surprising delight!! Fresh and flavoursome, very filling. The spicy chicken had just the right ‘bite’. I didn’t try the sauce, but it looked like the perfect complimenting flavour: Peanut. Highly recommended. I’ll be back for more!

The Bahn Mi are great - worthwhile getting them toasted with soy and chilli. Good roll, fresh veggies and tasty filling. They also do a good Vietnamese iced coffee. A lot of the bakery treats are overly sweet, but the Bahn Mi and the Vietnamese spring rolls make up for it.

  • Dangira Vens.

I used to love this bakery but in last month or so the quality has gone down considerably, especially with their pies. Pies have one chunk of meat and the rest just gravy. The prices went up which would have been still acceptable if the quality hadn't gone down.

Just bought an apple turnover and it was cold and hard, it was like it was half defrosted. The pieces of apples and apple sauce inside was all solidified, cold and hard. The pastry wasn't fresh and flaky, it was cold. It was only pretty in appearances.

  • Dawn Gissing

Was very disappointed. Purchased a delicious looking French vanilla slice from the display cabinet. They gave me one from the back. When I got home I found it to be stale with the custard dry and cracked, thick pastry layers and a thin layer of cream.

  • Jacqui Prendergast

This place is dangerous to my waist line. Everything from sweet to savoury is DELICIOUS! The prices are really affordable for the serving sizes too! Absolutely love the Bakehouse. The pies and sausage rolls are my fav …

My wife buys sandwiches for a monthly meeting and they are the best sandwiches in Brisbane because of their generous fillings and very reasonable pricing. The attendees just love them. Thanks John & Shirley

  • Marli Shields

I eat the grilled chicken salad here at least twice a week. Great portions and pricing. The rolls are delicious as well. Great for a quick grab and go lunch. Haven’t had the baked goods but they look great

  • Sayaz Mohammed

This place is a gem. The best Bahmi in Brisbane…plus a great selection of innovative sweet and savoury treats. I will travel over 20 km to this place, just for the taste! Keep up the great work!

  • X Life

Pies were very cold. Ended up heating in oven at home. Also, very little chicken amongst all gravy.. $3 value not $5.20. Not again for the pies sorry. Maybe I'll try something else another time

  • Nmia Rad

The customer service is very poor. The young staffs are very rude, they smile at you then say something in their own language to themselves which is obvious they’re talking about you.

  • Brad Blyton

Was once best bakery I knew of but since ownership has changed so has the quality of the food. Would really like to know if previous owner has opened another bakery somewhere?

  • Bill “Brizbill” Simon

Picked up a wide variety of treats for work morning tea the other day, pretty well everyone enjoyed their fare - try out their extra cheesy cheese & bacon sausage roll - yum!

  • Dylan Reo

Everything at this place is top quality. Sourdoughs are delicious, pies and pastries are way beyond your regular bakery quality and the banh mi are perfect!

  • J D

Sometimes customers can understand when you’re speaking about them - two girls on front counter should consider this next time, won’t be one for me though.

  • shane donaldson

Excellent. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious. In fact we have renamed every day Pieday so it is now a daily riutal. See you tomorrow ladies.

  • Richard Francis

Called in to grab lunch, had a lemongrass banh mi and a custard tart both were great. I will be back to try more. Good location and easy parking. Thanks.

  • Courtney Henderson

Great bakery! Looks standard but I have really enjoyed everything that I’ve had from here - most recently a lovely sourdough and a vanilla slice.

  • Rocky May

Really bad customer service, they ignored me while i was in the shop. There was 3 workers in the back pottering around. Horrible place

  • Dominic Polistena

Pie was good Good, but the sausage roll was off ,grey inside tasted awful it was more bread than meat and ends were very dry and hard.

  • Mike Herriot

The best Banh Mi I have had in a long time! Everything you order from this bakery is very impressive! Awesome addition to Albion!

  • Jessica Lewis
