It was my first time at The Bakery. The window display was well organised and all the baked goods looked fresh and delicious. Wide selection of the sweet pastries, cream cakes, as well as warm savoury pastries. I went in just for the mince pies but ended up getting 11 different cakes and pastries to take home. I’ve got two sausage rolls, a Cornish pasty, two eclairs, plain and chocolate croissant, Dublin’s Gur Cake, couple mince pies and a quiche Lorraine. The total was €22,30 which was pretty good. The high of The Bakery was the quiche. Fresh and still warm and perfectly balanced of leek and bacon in a lovely thin pastry shell, delicious. I will return to try some other pastries as well as their sandwiches made with freshly baked bread. Highly recommend.

I come here every day - you simply cannot beat the smell of freshly baked bread (and other goodies) early in the morning. Its a family-run business and they take great pride in everything they produce. The staff are super friendly and their sandwiches are HUGE thick crusty breads filled with whatever you want. They never skimp on quantity and everything is soooo FRESH !!! I get a different type of freshly-baked bread every day and vary the fillings - what a great way to start the day !!! They also have seating, so its either take-away or eat-in. Be warned, at lunch hour, they have long queues ... but its worth waiting for !

Quick and friendly service without the pretentious attitude one sees at many of the other places in the area. Good prices and good food. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the bread was stale on one end. I couldn't even eat it. I gave it to the pigeons. I bake my own bread at home. I love to bake. It didn't seem over baked, it seemed more like I had been served old bread. I'd still go back because other than a bit stale at one end the sandwich was great and I love a good sandwich. It was huge. I ate hours ago and I'm still full and I didn't even eat it all. The pigeons got part of it.

Thank you so much for letting my Mam and myself sit and have a cup of tea and cake today even though you were just closing. Mam loved her apple struddle, according to her it was the nicest cake ever! My custard slice was divine. Salt of the earth Dubs who really make you feel welcome and seem to know all their repeat customers by name. Love ❤️ this place.

Simple and a bit rustic and good: 8.5/10 recommended. No need to hi end decorations when the product is good and it's served by nice people. Entering this bakery, it's a bit like going in a time capsule. One of those simple bakeries of past times unfortunately now overtaken by bars and glamorous patisseries.

We went there every morning for breakfast during our stay in Dublin. Really good croissant (and we are French, so you can trust us on croissants), lovely employees, good hot drinks and fair prices. We also tasted their wraps and sandwiches which were really good too. We definitely recommend it !

If you are around Temple Bar you SHOULD pop in for a nice fresh cup of tea/coffee and a lovely & tasty pastry or a sandwich if you wish. Great selection of sweet and savory food they never disappoint, everything is very tasteful and they are awesome people. My favourite bakery in Dublin ❤ …

Was picking up a sandwich for lunch and with only 3 people in store my order of: Tomato Bread with butter, chicken, bacon and cheese turned into: White Bread with mayo, chicken, bacon and lettuce. Very disappointed when I got back to work to eat this and found they got it so wrong

Great snack food for those in a hurry. The turnover sandwiches from bread baked on the premises go beyond 'snack' . They should be more widely known and appreciated. Freshly baked pies and sweet cakes of all kinds also await. To top it all, fantastic value and very friendly staff.

Fantastic sandwiches at unbeatable prices. They are portioned generously. You do need to know what you want since there isn't a selection of pre-determined sandwiches. The bread is baked fresh in-house. Their pastries and cakes are unbelievable too.

  • Gaby Kerwin

This place is awesome, the staff is very nice and the food is always fresh and yummy. We went to Dublin for vacation and had breakfast there every single day. The carrot cake is the best carrot cake I ever had, not even new York can compare...

  • Olive Dowling

A hidden gem, the friendliest of staff and bread and cakes to die for. Couldn’t believe the value, a massive sandwich and cake for €7, no wonder there was a queue but don’t let that put you off moved very quickly. Really worth a visit

This is a gem of the Temple Bar. The staff are very friendly, the food is fresh and tastes delicious, there is always a small queue of hungry visitors :) I really like the almond muffins and the wraps, both were very filling.
