Based on the reviews of this "salon" and recommendations from friends in the area, I came to the beauty lounge for a root touch up for my highlights and a want to go a little lighter on my base color. I'd had a bad experience with my previous stylist in LA :( Right away I got a bad vibe from the stylist, Jay. Instead of FOILING my hair with the usual weave technique, she painted straight bleach all over my roots and scalp, claiming that this would be the "best way" to tackle my wants. I trusted she knew what she was doing, but I was wrong. Lo and behold she leaves the bleach on too long and I start feeling massive pain and stinging. She washes the bleach and my hair pulled all different colors (obviously) of copper and bronze, it was HORRIFIC. Instead of tone my hair or color it or SOMETHING she looks at the clock, and right away I think " what?? she's going to let me leave like this?!" She gives me some bs about "color correction" and coming in another time to fix the issue, after she consults with a professional salon (?!). I was livid. I went to a REAL professional salon the next day and find out her "technique" fried my hair, agitated my scalp, and was done out of SHEER LAZINESS and no knowledge of hair. Best part? She charged me $115 claiming it was a "full foil". Stay away from this place! Save your time and money and go to a real salon!!

I am so bummed to have to leave this review. I had my hair colored by Melissa on Monday 6/17. I had a pleasant experience chatting with her, exchanging stories about our kids, she was very receptive and helpful with what I wanted my hair to look like. The vibe of the salon was easy going and relaxed. Overall the process took about two hours which is expected. When I got home however I noticed my edges were not touched with color and still grey. Upon further inspection there is more noticeable clusters of hair throughout that was not touched by color. Keeping in mind how much I otherwise enjoyed my experience, I sent her an email the same afternoon asking what we could do to remedy the situation. I sent another follow up email this morning and unfortunately have yet to receive a reply. When I attempt to call there is only an option to leave a message. I also submitted a note via their website "contact us" section in hopes they would respond to that. But no one has reached out. I'm a hard working single mother and spending $145+ for a subpar hair job is really frustrating and almost brings me to tears. I just wanted to do something nice for myself and I can't help but feel so disappointed in the lack of response and their disregard for my experience.

Honestly it was a good go to salon for me and my four daughters but after last week I won’t be going back. They never answer and the phone or emails when you need an appointment or have a question about your appointment. My daughter had just had braids taken out and her hair is long the minute I came in the stylist complained about how I should have selected the long hair extra since she had back to back appointments. I was fine with paying the extra 25$ for this but when all was said and done I walked out spending $75 more than quoted when I booked. The stylist was rude complained about me in front of my child when I was out of the salon for not doing the extra time and as a working parent this definitely made me very uncomfortable and annoyed and she was very UNPROFESSIONAL. I know I should have looked elsewhere but i know one thing I'm done. Will be going to a new salon. I concur with a prior review in that My time is just as valuable as yours and I don’t need the guilt trip when I go somewhere where I’m paying for a service. Been there several times all good experiences but this one stylist made all those good experiences bad and won’t be returning. Do better for your future clients.

I arrived at my very first nail appointment here on 5/23. The decor and overall vibe was very nice. Also, I was excited to get my nails done by a black nail artist which is hard to find in MN. The thing is, my appointment was set for 12pm. As I was waiting, 1220 came and my nail tech finally decided to came over to the waiting area with color swatches, didn't introduce herself and informed me she was running behind. Like, no sh*t! It wasn't until 1230 she finally sat me at her station. Realizing how much of my appointment time had gone by, she offered to fix my 2 nails that had broken for free, Which was nice. However one of the repairs is clearly longer than the rest of my nails. I was already put off by the late start time and had somewhere else to be. I didn't want to ask her to fix anything else due to her thinking she did me a favor by "fixing" them. Her shaping skills were mid tier at best and the end price of $95 was far frm worth the visit. I won't be back for nails. Knotless box braids, maybe.

I don't usually write reviews but this was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any salon. I wish i could give negative stars. I was inquiring about their wedding service and at first I was really excited to work with beauty lounge because they responded to my email so quickly and they even have positive reviews. A few messages later, the responses became short. They kept sending me unclear PDF sheets with prices for their service, which only led to more questions. I even tried calling during businees hours to get clarity, of course they werent available. They wanted a $200 deposit basically the same day that I asked to book the date and when I asked for more details about the breakdown of everything, since my service would only come to $180, they said they no longer have the booking available for me. I feel like I dodged a scam. Unfortunately, I cannot support this sister's business. Looking for recommendations for professional salons that do natural hair in the twin cities.

Amazing place. So welcoming! I have had real problem finding a good hair stylist in Minneapolis for 3 years now, util I hound The Beauty Lounge. I have thick and wavy hair, that was destroyed by previous hairdressers. My hair stylist was Stephanie and she is amazing! I had a full color, haircut and some kind of deep conditioning. My hair looks healthier than ever. While being there few other stylists we braiding, and doing bow outs and all their customers left with a big smiles on their faces. The atmosphere is so relaxing and calming. I didn’t even had to ask for a silent treatment. They are emphatically sensing who’s introvert I guess. Check their Instagram and don’t hesitate to book! I’m so happy I finally have my place of high quality to go to.

Natalie did my wedding makeup and it was phenomenal. I did a trial with her a couple months ago, immediately booked her and then asked her to also do my maid of honors makeup. My maid of honor and I have completely different complexions and she did an amazing job on both of us. I got airbrush makeup (game changer). I still cannot believe I found her and in a city that I don’t live in! Seriously she is the best no matter your ethnicity or complexion. She even beach waved my hair for me last minute after she did my makeup (I decided last minute that I wanted to wear it down and had not booked bridal hair). Thank you so so much Natalie it was perfect and you were also super fun!

Had my bridal makeup trial and makeup on the day of my wedding for myself, my mom, and two bridesmaids. We all looked AMAZING, Melissa did such a good job! She made us look glam yet natural, which is what we wanted. And she is such a pleasure to talk to! I highly recommend her for your makeup needs in the future. The pricing was also very reasonable in comparison to some independent makeup artists I had looked into. I got my nails done there by Gisselle as well and they came out cute and absolutely perfect (gel polish, did not use fake nails). Gisselle is also very friendly and very talented with nail polish. I would definitely recommend her for both a manicure and pedicure!

I have been searching quite sometime for an experienced natural hair stylist. Dre is absolutely awesome! It was clear from the start she knows hair! She took the time to suggest natural styling options and appeared genuinely excited with my choice. Style was great! Sisters (or anyone) if you are looking for a friendly, professional, experienced stylist that you can tell will be creative (only if given the reigns) you MUST check out Dre. Although Melissa did not do my style I watched her styling clients and its more than obvious she knows what she is doing. Feeling fortunate to have found The Beauty Lounge!

Hi, I scheduled an appointment here a few months ago for 7pm and when I arrived 5 min early the door was locked and no one was inside. Your hours on google didn’t match the hours on the website at the time so I thought it was a mistake and ended up leaving. I did call and the phone number goes straight to a automated message so I thought you were for sure closed. I got charged $60 for the haircut and tried to contact someone but ended up not getting a helpful response. I was told after that there were people in the back room but didn’t get my money back! 1 star for the miscommunication :/

Consultation Went well and she was polite...now im so disappointed and upset! The stylist told me that my hair would be here by a certain time so that my hair would be done by my vacation.... The only reason I found out that was not the case is because I called In regards to coloring my hair.... I made it very clear that I needed my hair done to go out of town and I need it done by a certain date.... I felt it was very unprofessional that they were not up front about shipping dates... Now I will be spending my birthday vacation without my hair done.... Was not very professional

Service was okay at best but when I was finished they sold me on a beauty box. This box was worth over 70$. I had my appointment in July of 2018 and have made multiple calls to see if my box arrived. After months of waiting I called back in September to get a update. No one picked up my calls or answered my emails. I continued to call, when someone finally picked up I explained how long I’ve been waiting and decided to get a refund. They said they would get the refund in the works, here it is almost Christmas and I’ve yet to see a refund. To recap: I placed my order in July!

Loved my hairdresser and loved my hair! The lounge was cute and hip hop music kept it upbeat and fun- but it didn’t go with the contemporary Victorian decor at all and was really out of place with the design. The staff were excellent and sweet and generous. The lost star is due to the impossibility of finding the salon, as I drove in circles around the street made of brick, hoping my tires could handle another spin. I also suggest answering the phone instead of straight to voicemail- just bad for customer service from a hospitality perspective Thank you to the staff!

ZERO stars is more like it! They never answer and the phone or emails when you need an appointment or have a question about your appointment. They call back months later and thats after figuring out other ways to contact them. The stylist is ALWAYS LATE!! UNPROFESSIONAL to be an hour late and ALL the time. I know I should have looked elsewhere but when you find someone to do what you want, great you want to come back. However, I'm done. Will be going to a new salon. My time is just as valuable as yours. Do better for your future clients that can reach the salon.

I would NEVER in a million years recommend this place. My mom bought me a Groupon deal over a month ago and just until a week and a half ago I finally got a voicemail saying I should TEXT them??? for an appointment- how unprofessional is that! So, I make the appointment and show up today as scheduled: well, they failed to update their address on both the website and when they were "texting" me about my appointment. Thank goodness I was able to get a Groupon refund. I would never spend a penny at this place :)

The rating I would give to this salon is 0 stars very disrespectful I booked an appointment 2 weeks before and on my appointment I was made to wait 15 mins to only tell me that my stylist had a concussion which happened in the morning if this was the other way round they would’ve made me pay in full as that’s their policy the way everything was handled was very unprofessional would not recommend to anyone. I really thought they were professional I had to be somewhere special today they wasted my time.

Erica is simply wonderful. Had a curly cut and she was so intune with my hair goals, shared helpful maintenance tips and products, and all around excellent service. The salon is a whole vibe; clean, boho chic style, and inviting space. Like their wall art says "you belong here". Big ups that they have people wash their hands prior to service. Definitely recommending to my people and will be coming back to support.

First I had an appointment with them and they randomly canceled it second I went there to get my hair done the next day and woke up with half of my hair coming off mind you that was my graduation day I looked so bad in my graduation pictures every time I see those pictures I cry third I contacted them to ask for a refund because my hair didn't even last me 3 days but till this day I have heard nothing from them

Wife brought my daughters here. Absolutely worst experience ever. The stylists were bashing people using Groupons, then had all kinds of extra fees that were kept hidden until it was time to leave. Total scam. Would not recommend to anyone! Typically you leave a hair appointment feeling great, but my girls were feeling the exact opposite. Now, I still have to go elsewhere to get their hair done the right way!

I went in for a silk press with a treatment. This was my first visit with the Beauty Lounge. My stylist was Saba, she was professional, hospitable, and very fun. Saba did an amazing job and I also love the whole professionalism about the shop from the time I entered til the time I left. Definitely will be returning. The prices are amazing as well. Great job all around Beauty Lounge the whole staff is amazing.

I love the Beauty Lounge! Beauty Lounge did my and my bridal party’s hair and makeup at my wedding, and they did a fantastic job. They were friendly, stayed on our wedding day timeline despite a very big party, and everyone’s hair and makeup looked gorgeous. I’ve also been to Beauty Lounge for a haircut and balayage. The salon is so cute with a great atmosphere, and I loved my hair! Highly recommend.

I have been searching for a long time, for a hair stylist that specializes in natural hair. Over the years, perms, and texturizers have stripped my hair. Today I came in that shop embarrassed by my hair. Tonight I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I know Jai will help me grow my hair back out to its natural length. I'm amazed and I love my hair but having a hard time wrapping it up at night

I found beauty lounge through groupon and had an excellent experience. I had previously had a few negative experiences at some salons and was nervous. I met with Natalie and was pretty upfront about my fears, what I hoped for and what I didn't want. She listened without judgement, took tremendous time and focus on making sure it was what I wanted. Wonderful place! I've been working with Travis for a few years now and it is always something on my calendar that I look forward to. Very considerate, very professional and with a great eye for flair, Travis does a good job recommending new looks that fall within what he knows is your personal style. I would recommend him to anyone I know as it is a reasonable price for a high quality service.

It took me years trying different salons in the cities before I found The Beauty Lounge and I knew I had found my spot. It is such a positive and inclusive space that you're happy to be a part of it. Natalie Deeble has never let me down. Whether it's a haircut, highlights, making my hair pink or purple, or recommending hair treatments, she always makes me look fantastic and I trust her 100%.

My absolute favorite salon! I have been going here for 2.5 years and my hair has been completely transformed, into healthy, luscious locs. The salon is beautiful, welcoming and bright. I have seen Stephanie P. the entire time and I absolutely adore her. She is so talented with hair and transformation as well as education for at home. I found this place on Groupon because I've been looking for a steady stylist for YEARS - I think I just found one! My stylist was great, the conversation was lively, and my hair is super happy! EDIT: I've been going to Natalie for two years now and cannot say enough good things about Beauty Lounge! Facilities are clean and stylish, staff is friendly, and I am never disappointed.

I had an amazing time here! Yesterday was my first day and someone was there to greet me when I walked in, my stylist for the day Natalie was very personable and knew exactly what I wanted for the color of my hair and she nailed it! (I went from very dark hair to lavender within a couple of hours). It’s nice going to a hair salon that feels super inclusive and inviting.

I have been going to this salon for years now and its awesome. It took me years to find a salon that catered to my natural hair and also made the customer experience a priority. Melissa is amazing and has done a great job making it welcoming for everyone. I have gotten great tips from her and my hair has never looked or felt better, I highly recommend them!!

Went for the first time and saw Dre. Loved using the steamer. Dre was able to tell me more about my natural hair and provide tips for healthy hair. Dre gave me a wash, deep condition, trim and blow out. Two weeks later, I'm still loving the way my hair looks and I haven't had to put anymore heat on it, as I've continued to wrap it. Highly recommend.

I've been coming to The Beauty Lounge for a year and Stefanie has done a fantastic job keeping my nails looking cute. In a year, I've needed two nails fixes ever (nails popped off and it was my fault) and they're alway so accommodating. Scheduling appointments are super easy and I recommend The Beauty Lounge any time anyone asks about my nails :)

The Beauty Lounge is remarkable! All of the stylist are extremely nice and professional. Natalie is a my go to for color, but she is amazing no matter what style you choose. You can't go wrong with anyone on this roster of women. (I wont run down the list but trust me when you book you wont regret it) They will get you all the way together!

I had a need for a basic haircut and the stylist, Natalie, that I wanted to schedule with was booked out for a while. She went above and beyond starting earlier than normal to fit me in. Service well beyond expectations! The parlor was clean, the environment welcoming and there were some sweet tunes playing. Definitely a great experience!!

Natalie is fantastic! I felt so incredibly beautiful for my maternity photo session. She did my hair and make up in a way that enhanced my natural features while making me look and feel my best. I have been going here for years! I go to Natalie she cuts my curly hair and does a amazing job... The first time I met her I was really nervous she seen my hair go from really short to medium length!! They can do just about anything and they will be honest with you too! She keeps a really good conversation btw!

I love The Beauty Lounge! The stylists I’ve seen, Erika and Natalie, are always punctual and communicative. The salon feels very clean and the vibes are good. I do think it is a bit hard to contact the salon, and would love if they were better at answering the phone or responding to online inquiries.

Stephanie was great! She listened well to what I wanted, so my haircut was perfect to a tee, and I also walked out with such silky hair after the conditioning treatment! I'm not familiar with their product line so I was unsure at first, but WOW …

Sasha did a great job!!! She colored and cut my hair. I have never done anything drastic with my hair so I was super nervous but Sasha did a good job at making me comfortable. I trusted her process and ended up LOVING my hair. 10/10, would recommend.
