Es la Biblioteca del Trinity College de Dublín y de la Universidad de Dublín, la más grande de la República de Irlanda, y ejerce además como depósito legal o "biblioteca de derechos de autor". Es el lugar donde se custodia el famoso Libro de Kells, compuesto por cuatro volúmenes, dos de los cuales se exponen públicamente en el edificio de la Biblioteca Antigua, ya que la institución se encuentra repartida en varios edificios. Otro de los objetos más simbólicos para los irlandeses, el arpa "Brian Boru" una de las tres arpas gaélicas medievales y que se representa en el escudo de la nación se encuentra también en la Biblioteca Vieja, junto con otros numerosos libros manuscritos e impresos antiguos.

The library is very comfortable, peaceful and quiet. It's a suitable environment for studying. The French windows impress people a lot. From there, you can have a very fantastic view with the lush grassland outside. The library closes at 10pm. There is eyes protected lamp with accessible sockets for charging the laptops. The toilet is at the ground floor. Students who studying here are very self disciplined and serious.

Ugliest building on campus by a long, long way. Trinity College grounds are beautiful. The brutalist Berkeley Library is so out of place its almost offensive. A wrecking ball would improve it.
