  • "Very nice bookshop"

"The owner of this shop tried to sell me a very used copy of Jean Jacques Rousseau's Social Contract for 6€ (more expensive than a new copy) and then proceeded to guilt-trip me by saying "how am I supposed to pay rent?" when the price I proposed did not meet his expectations"

"I had been meaning to go here for quite some time and I finally made it today unfortunately the owner/employee was sitting outside chatting with someone and their conversation killed any interest of mine to buy books there"

"Great little book shop in a nice neighbourhood with a small but healthy selection of genres and titles in good condition"

"I've been coming to this place since the opening and always found a book or two, each time"

Very nice bookshop. If you are looking for second hand used English books in Berlin, that is definitely the place. I have been there a couple times, and I found super interesting titles. Also I would say that they have a fair price. I strongly recommend the place!

The owner of this shop tried to sell me a very used copy of Jean Jacques Rousseau's Social Contract for 6€ (more expensive than a new copy) and then proceeded to guilt-trip me by saying "how am I supposed to pay rent?" when the price I proposed did not meet his expectations. This is despite him asking how much I was willing to pay for the book. All in all, a very unpleasant experience and quite the attitude from someone with such a poorly curated book store.

I had been meaning to go here for quite some time and I finally made it today unfortunately the owner/employee was sitting outside chatting with someone and their conversation killed any interest of mine to buy books there. The person they were chatting with was going on about how cyclon b couldn’t have been used in the gas chambers and how the numbers are inaccurate. I had to leave I couldn’t listen to it any longer, I just wanted cry.

Great little book shop in a nice neighbourhood with a small but healthy selection of genres and titles in good condition. Regarding the one-star review made by someone else; if you go into a second hand book shop expecting to buy anything for 50 cents in 2021, you are delusional. Maybe in 1992 or at the worst flea markets you could do this? The prices here are more than fair and no more expensive than any other similar place.

I've been coming to this place since the opening and always found a book or two, each time. The prices are fair, not super cheap maybe but reflecting the condition and rarity of one book. I bought some for 2-3€ that were quite battered and some for 6-8€ in ship shape form. Its small, it's cramped up, it's full of lovely books and the people working there are always helpful. May their reign be long and prosper!

Tiny, just two little rooms, I found it difficult to move around, but sort of charming as every tiny book store. Good ambience, background music, friendly staff. They have long opening hours which is great but make sure to get here before it's dark outside unless your have owl eyes. The light inside is poor. As for the books selection your milage may vary and it depends what you look for. For me it's poor.

The place has a lot of selections for the actual size of the store. I love how jam packed it actually is. But some prominent authors that i was looking for just wasn't there (Tolstoy, Houllebecque, pynchon and plath). The vast majority of the book is very fairly priced and affordable, but there are some that basically cost the same as new ones ("the trouble with being born" cost the same with a new one)

Fantastic selection of books, my first time I picked up 4 books for a very fair price. Old classics mixed with new titles, the man who helped me was also very friendly and helpful. Really cosy setting, surely for any reader you will find what you are looking for in here and if you don't then ask the owner as he's ready to reccomend! Will certainly be going back!

There are a lot of books, the place is chilled and silent, and if you have the time to stop and browse every single book you'll find something interesting for sure. Nice place only if you like to stop by and take your time for new discoveries, if you have already something in mind, instead, it might be you won't find it here as it is a used books shop.

  • Sara Cosemans

Nice selection of used English (and Dutch!!!) books, but even nicer conversations with Alex and William who own/run this friendly queer space. Great book recommendations even beyond their own collection and interesting exchange of ideas was what we most enjoyed. Whenever we visit Berlin (from Belgium) we'll try to come back here.

Amazing bookshop run by very nice people! One of those shops where you can spend a long time just browsing the shelves, and stumble upon gems you immediately feel you can't go on living without owning. Very cool sections of science books, philosophy books etc etc. One of the "must-visit" bookshops in Berlin.

The bookstore was really nice and cozy, I really like the feeling of the place and there where really good books. The books where too hefty priced in my opinion because of the fact that they where seconhand. If you have money and you like cozy stores and the environment this is perfect for you

I bought a second-hand book there and later on realized it was exactly the same price, new, from Book Depository. I understand shops have bills to pay and I like to support second-hand bookshops but I think the books should have at least 1€ or 2€ discount over a brand new copy.

A real gem of a bookstore, just expensive! An amazing variety of books, both old and new, in a laid back environment with friendly book sellers. Unfortunately the books here cost more than they would brand new. Aside from the price issue it's a slice of heaven.

  • Daniel Grün

Lovely shop, always very friendly and helpful. They've got lots of good stuff translated into English (Alberto Moravia, Italo Svevo, Primo Levi, Umberto Eco...just some of the Italian stuff I saw). You can bring books back and you get most of your money back!

  • Sophie Brewer

I love this little bookstore! Great selection of English books at reasonable prices. Very cozy and people who work there are always friendly and helpful. They have a lot of sci-fi, fantasy, poetry, and plays, more than many bookstores in Berlin.

  • Adnan Hamdan

The owner is lovely and the place is over wonderful, It is the first shop I will be visiting when I go to Berlin next time! I bought a lot of books a year ago and still remember this shop. I recommend this place for whoever needs English books!

  • ツYuki

Wonderful store, wonderful employees but the price of a used book should never be higher than the unused version on amazon. I know it's hard to survive as a store on such little money but people will go for the cheaper price. Thanks

  • Bubbs

I had high hopes for this wonderful little bookshop and I was not disappointed! The owners are helpful and kind, while the selection of books is wide, varying from classics to rare little treasures waiting to be discovered. 5/5!

  • Wotze Schiller

This place is hold by 2 book lovers that know what they are selling and can assist you in getting what you're are looking for. Stumbled upon this place by chance and I don't regret it. Will come back for sure!

  • Priyam Goswami-Choudhury

Genuinely think every bookshop is only as good as its eccentricities. And this shop is as wonderful as it gets. The owners are knowledgeable and kind with time. If you have time, go in. It's a good bookshop.

  • Charlotte Rath

One of my favourite book shops in Berlin. I love how you can browse and just spend time in here without being disturbed. But also, they always have great recommendations and are just generally so nice.

  • Paul Judge

Brilliant book shop full of all kinds of book genres, the staff (Bruce & Ali) are very friendly and you can have a chat with them about anything! Must visit if you are in Berlin. Thanks

  • Syed Hassan Zoraiz

Second hand books a bit expensive. There are a lot of books but you really have to look hard enough to find. Small, congested place. Not a five star book store though. But it's good.

  • ravi dvr

Cosy bookstore in Neukolln with a good collection of English and American authors. The people running the store are knowledgeable as well. Worth checking out for your next fix/read

  • Miriam M

Loved this little hidden jem! I got a couple of old magazines on a whim and the staff was just great. Fun little shop, would have stopped in again if I'd been in town long enough!

I was literally kidnapped and woke up in this nightmare of a place, the books were in terrible condition, the place reeks of gentrifiers and annoying ppl. 0/10, it’s a whole flop

It will improve your life immediately to get to know this wonderful institution! If you are either after great language support or an excellent read (or both), stop on by.

  • Donna Tipping

Wonderful cosy atmosphere and wide & well priced range of literary, popular and children's fiction and non fiction. Wine on a Friday night. I could have stayed all day!

  • Nazli

Extensive collection of English books ranging from crime fiction to art history. The guy working there was super nice and helpful too :) Definitely recommended !

  • JoAnn Parker

Just a wonderful find! Bought some children’s books at a great price. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff/owners. A must for your visit to Berlin.

Helpful staff, the shelves have been well filtered and you can find gems once you get used to the author-by-nation divisions.

  • Anna Osypova
