Norman from Cape Brake is THE MAN!! If you're looking for a TRULY honest auto service company that is quick, experienced, and will not rip you off, go here! If you need more details about my experience, read on. My Story: My Corsa GSi was rotting away in one spot for 7 YEARS (I work from home and my girlfriend has a car.). I finally said stuff it, I need to fix this thing. So, I initially asked an Opel Specialist from another company to tow it to his shop and repair it for me. He showed up, took a look at the flat tyres & Rusted-solid locked wheels, opened the bonnet filled with cobwebs, did a quick oil check, and told me he would get someone to tow it the next day. 2 days later, nothing. I call him, and he tells me to please just go somewhere else, he doesn't want the job. He basically wanted nothing to do with my car. That was an Opel SPECIALIST! Fear started to set in for me badly... What now? So I found Norman from Cape Brake and asked him if he could help me. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and most importantly, calming. He organised a huge FLATBED truck to come pick my car up, and at a VERY cheap rate (R600). For comparison, The Opel specialist guy told me it would cost over R800 for a tow truck (Those smaller, bakkie type ones that drag your car on it's rear wheels, Which I'm now realizing would have probably damaged something since all 4 wheels are locked plus the tyres are flat!). Thank God Norman has brains, and contacts around town. Norman then brought my GSi back from the dead! He kept me up to date through the whole process too. Apparently it was so bad the oil and fuel in my car turned into a thick jelly like substance - but he removed the entire fuel tank, chemically treated it, installed a new Tank Fuel pump, Relay, Hoses & Clamps, Filters, Brake Discs, Pads, Calipers, Battery, Wipers, Headlights, Cam Belt, Cleaned the engine, tyre tube and tons of other things I can't even remember. It even got a proper valet car wash treatment, which it really needed of course. Final cost was around R10K for all parts AND Labor. I remember many car services back in Joburg always being over R7000 for my car (and that was around 10-12 years ago!) and that was when it was driving perfectly before I took it in for a service/checkup! Many knowledgeable people I talked to said my car could easily cost R20,000 to fix and possibly need a new engine, due to it standing so long and getting rusted. Anyway, Now my GSI is purring like a tiger again and I'm happy as can be. It feels like a new car! I rarely leave google reviews, but this man is a Legend. I was so happy that I went back and gave Norman a quality bottle of Whiskey for his effort - I don't ever do stuff like that but he literally saved me 1000's of rands so it's the least I can do to say thank you. Finally, I have found a place to repair my car without being conned! So, why did I take time to type all this for a review? Because many businesses are suffering due to Covid and I don't want this place to close down or something. I wouldn't know where else to go without being ripped off! Honest auto repair places are few and far between. First place I've ever been to that I didn't feel ripped off. Norman, if you ever read this, Thanks again for turning my car from a spider infested wreck, back into the beast it was many many years ago.

I took my 2007 Ford Bantum with 208 000 km in because the hand brake was slipping during a roadworthy test. On the way I bought the parts required. I asked Graaf to check if the parts supplied were in fact correct. They assured me they were, despite needing to modify them. After 3 days of work, they skimmed my break drums, replaced my wheel bearings, break shoes, adjusters and the hand break cable. They stripped the hand break adjuster, and broke my hub caps. My original parts have also been lost. They did no charge me for the last day of labour but my rear breaks are not working at all and I have to have all the work re-done. I took the Bantum to Ford to have the breaks done properly. I now had to also replace the drums as they had been over skimmed and could no longer be used.

I had a brake failure. Took my Rav 4 to Rola Toyota. they tried to rip me off and i would only get my Rav 4 in a week and a half. Eventually found the highly specialised Cape Brake company . I was in a hurry to sell the Rav, and these guys had my car back the same day, with half the price of toyota rola. Fast, efficient and good prices. Wont do brakes anywhere else ever again. (Unless its on a service plan)

Had a great experience after I phoned this morning to ask for available slot. Received a quote within 15min. Luckily there was a cancelation and I was at the workshop within 2 hours. Friendly service and expert mechanics. There is also WIFI if you dont have anywhere to go Thank you for your great work!

I didn't know companies like this still exist! I guess it's because you're dealing with a family-run business. Josh solved a long-standing engine light problem that two previous mechanics couldn't. His sisters run the customer service and admin, which is excellent and friendly.

Had our Chery serviced. Drove to CPT the next day, and took long drive to Gansbaai the very next day. Sheer pleasure and a peaceful mind. Thank you CBC for a job well done!!! Having communication via CBC WhatsApp is a huge plus. I am a happy and satisfied customer.

Good advice from Josh on available options / manufacturers when replacing my brakes. Using proper diagnostic tools and methods during fitment. Very efficient and friendly service by the whole team! Highly recommend them.
