Tool my 15 month old to the hospital for a broken finger, they did an xray, doctor looked at xray said it may be broken but couldy tell exactly till the xray technician looked at. Sent us home anyway by just taping her two fingers together and wrapping gauze around them. Didn't say anything else, just to give her advil for the pain and come back if it got worse. Well she got the gauze and tape off within half an hour, spoke with her doctor this morning and she said it was in fact a break and she needed a splint. They told me at the hospital they couldn't do anything for her. I am so mad I was sent home without the proper people looking at the xray and if I had never spoken to her doctor I wouldn't know it was a break. Now I have to run around the city trying to find a place that makes custom splints because they couldn't be bothered to give mt daughter the proper care.
One of the doctor know nothing in practical..he is just a bookworms. My son who is just 2and half year old got fracture in his arm. His bone between shoulder and elbow was broken. We went to hsc children and they make casting around it. That time i told the doctor that there is free space on tricep side and casting pushing the bone from bicep side.but doctor didn’t hear me. And gave me appointment after 25 days . After 25 days we went over there .they cut the casting and when we saw the bone is joined but at angle.that time i was very angry.i want to beat the doctor.i asked the doctor about this angle in bone and the answer was ,it will heal by it self in 1 year and become straight.. WTF. Why its joined at angle . He should not be a doctor who don’t know how to heal or join the bones.. he should be a seavage cleaner.. MF
Not about the hospital itself but about the staff who handle taking calls when you call the Children's hospital phone number. Someone was trying to get to children's hospital and said the 820 Sherbrook door is blocked. I called to ask which door they should actually go through and the lady who answered was very very rude. 820 Sherbrook wasn't blocked off the person I was trying to help was just lost and didn't know which door to go through. The lady just said "Go through the 820 Sherbrook door, Jesus" and hung up. I think her and another person have been working answering phones there for a while and are very rude and angry all the time. I feel bad for any parent who has to call Children's hospital and has to talk to this lady. She works during the daytime on week days.
Brought my son (1y/o) here tonight as he had trouble breathing. Although we were only allowed 1 parent in with the child, we understand and appreciate that they must take all precautions to prevent the spread of covid-19. We were triaged as soon as we walked in, the ladies were very friendly! We got into a room right away and our nurse was so kind and gentle! The doctor was also very friendly and answered all of our questions very professionally. He gave us a handout on my sons diagnosis and the nurse did an amazing job administering the medication to my son! We had a wonderful experience here! Thank you to all the staff for helping us! We really appreciate everything you do!
My daughter (15) was admitted to Children's Hospital and was there for a week. Doctor McLeod was amazing and actually took time to talk to her about her interests in and out of school. We had Vivian as our nurse the first couple nights and she set the bar very high for what to expect from other nurses! Her entire team was great and compassionate to her and cared about my well being too! I definitely recommend children's hospital for your child before taking them to another hospital/urgent Care center. They found what Seven Oaks had missed the day before. Way to go! You made our stay comfortable and kept us informed
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THESE PEOPLE!! My daughters tongue got swollen, we went to emergency to get her checked out of caution. After 4 HOURS OF SITTING AND WAITING with NOT A SINGLE word from an actual Doctor; We felt really bad for the little girl in the next room, crying due to her broken ankle, to which the Doctor was nowhere to be seen as well; My daughter lost Faith in them and SHE wanted to leave! WE LEFT ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED!! THEY ARE TRUSTED WITH OUR CHILDRENS HEALTH!?? UNBELIEVABLE!! Crazy!! Horrible!! (Going to our Trusted Walk In in the morning) THANK GOD IT WASNT ANYTHING SERIOUS!
I can't thank the staff enough. After yesterday's trip to the hospital, she was so much better. The nurses were so sweet, caring, and made my daughters first hospital visit comfortable and reassuring. She said, "The nurses were really nice ladies. She nurse that stayed with me when you went to washroom was nice and we talked about fun things!" She was scared of the needles, she had a positive experience and left happier and healthier and so proud. Today, she is feeling much better than she has in weeks. She is happy, eating and drinking again, and has so much more energy. Thank you all so so much.
This place is a joke. Visited children's and they make your wait 9 hours for emergency before even getting to a room then another 21 hours in a room because due to the doctor needed was off until next morning 9am. Just unreal then they just want you to go home I'm glad there was another resource I called and said no don't go home and are handling the issue. No wonder why this place is rated so bad just unreal. No wonder why there so many health issues not handled and mental health not dealt with. This place should not even be around.
I give 2 stars just because nurse help me when i came here with my baby she help alot and check him twice otherwise the service is zero I came here around 2:45 in the morning wiating for doc for last 3 hrs but no one come to see my child like i don’t know what is meaning of emergency according to them such a bad service i mean they only have one doc or limited staff in emergency please do something to make your hospital better and heir some more staff so people came in emergency have no need to wait so long for treatment please
they always helped me when i was a kid and believed me when i said i broke my foot even when my doctor didnt the reason they have 4 out of 5 stars is because as a kid i burned my leg very badly and when the nurse had to take the temporary bandage off she didnt just take it off she ripped it off damaging my skin even more and when i cried and screamed she told me to shut up because it wasnt that bad.... still have a fear of hot water and nurses because of that
Aha, where to begin, i rolled my ankle really badly the evening of Jan 5, i went to the hospital for 6 HOURS just to be sent home with a “youll be okay” to this day I still get stabbing pains in my ankle and foot, this place for real needs better medical service, i’d choose another hospital over hsc, another thing happened early September, i closed a car door on my fingers and was sent home the same way, only i waited 9 HOURS to be seen
My son is crying in pain and couldn't eat anything for about 3 days so we brought him here. We arrived at 11am and there were 8 patients before us. At around 4pm, after 13 patients went in already we were still not called. When I asked why, "well some kids are sicker that yours, so stop counting how many went in bcoz it's not first come first serve". So, I guess we can be here for 1 week because my son just fall sleep now.
Covid restrictions are inhumane and unnecessary. Two parents should be able to accompany the child, otherwise you're missing 50% of family history, and removing support during a time of great stress. I was so upset I could barely think straight let alone answer all their questions, how does this ensure my child gets the best care possible in these circumstances?
Those guys just killing people No one care about the patios and no one's see them what they do in the emergency line where is the government to see what are they doing I advise every one don't come to Manitoba the emergency here very bad no one know anything. I have all videos advise my bad experience with those guys
If the account of the treatment that the the little boy Erlen received is correct, this sounds like the last place you want to bring your child. Also there were major problems a few years ago with Open Heart surgery on babies. Surgeons from Sick Kids had to go there and correct the problems. Not impressed.
Did amazing at first got in immediately but, when it came time to leave it took 2+ hrs to have an iv removed not a nurse in sight absolutely atrocious our health care system is failing and this is why even with my degree refuse to work in an over worked & underfunded environment absolutely disgusting
I request u all to never come in this hospital when in emergency as this is not an emergency hospital .. They will make u wait whole night to see a doctor amd the doctor will say u can take rest home .. No check ups and no test required .. I can 100% say this hospital has very very lazy doctors ..
i went to children’s emergency last saturday they made me wait 8 hours in the waiting room just to be put in a room to wait 7 hours for a doctor to see me. the nurses were kind and the doctors were nice too. they need to fix their children’s emergency so the children don’t have to wait to be seen.
Outdated, rundown building & equipment Same with the care provided in child's hospital So disappointed. Horrible experience. I've heard kids cry all night here in hospital and no one came to console or comfort them. (On more then one occasion) don't leave your kid alone here seriously.
Horrible place took my newborn baby to be seen just to get sent home. Which I found out he was really sick with pneumonia and ecoli in the blood. Got sent to upstairs for 14 days. The whole time I was there I felt like they discriminationed and ignored for being a young native mother.
Had to take my daughter there to get stitches. All the nurses were great with her, the doctor was amazing. He seemed generally interested in helping my daughter with the best treatment possible and making me feel at ease. Felt very comfortable with the doctor. Would highly recommend.
Took my 2 year kid to emergency around 2 am, Waited 6+ hrs to see the physician, and it wasn’t even busy at that time, felt bad for all the kids suffering crying in the waiting area. So much to cut staff to save some $ by our government while our kid’s dying in the waiting area :(
Bad bad bad, careless people and make you wait for long time, all the staff work there chating and like there is no patient waiting there, I hope someone sees my message and really do something about it, it's a children hospital EMERGENCY shouldn't be wait for them.
It was genuine waiting time as expected due to overwhelming patients. It took 2 hours waiting and 2 hours treatment time - total of 4 hours for my 2 months old baby. Big thanks to the staff and doctors for being so polite and helpful.
Have been a frequent flyer here to HSC Children's for years. Always get respect and great care. Nurses and Docs in E.R. are amazing. As well as all the Nurses and Docs throughout HSC Children's. Thank you for caring for my family ♥️
My 3 week old son was seen very quickly .. had to wait about 6 hours for a ultrasound but once they diagnosed his condition he was taken into surgery about 5 hours later and his surgery went wonderful.. the doctor was amazing.
I was at this hospital in December and again in May and both times the visit was efficient. I expected a long wait and I was worried, but the nurses and doctors did eveything quickly and they deserve so much respect.
This system is broken. There is no acceptable reason it should take 8+ hours for a child to be seen in the ER. Do better healthcare system. Your staff are clearly having to take on more than they can handle.
Worst place waiting time is too long and if I asked from the staff and they always replied it’s normal wait for 8 hours they don’t value the time of other person and they don’t care what happen to child.
I have NOTHING but great things to say about Winnipeg Children’s Hospital! The staff are truely amazing! As well as the security guard! NOTHING but great experiences when we have been here!
Worst children's hospital ever. My son was in pain and screaming and all they said was go have a seat and wait. The staff don't care about the kids they just want a paycheck.
my son’s appt is 1:30 and it’s already 2:30 we’re still waiting on the room!!!! we’re not going to come back here!!! also the filipqn front desk at Clinic W is rude!
Very bad service waiting long hours, my son was very sick , the doctor said is ok take it home that’s crazy and horrible I never take my baby to that people
My 3 month old caught a fever, nurses were very accomadating. Wait time said 4.75 hrs but we were in and out in just over 2 hrs. The doctor is very good.
Long wait times and a small waiting room. but nice nurses! And by the way don’t go here for a cast. They only give half casts.
Super dirty hospital stay at home u will feel even better then coming here because of the dirts and wait times
Please start treating children as they enter instead of waiting for long hours. It will help children in pain.
Emergency room care has gone downhill fast. I give the nurses credit (only a small handful) of them.
12 hours waiting - unacceptable and mind boggling that this is happening. No choice but to leave.
Prepare to wait until your kid throws up and you pass out, maybe they'll check on you than
Great atmosphere for kids. It doesn’t feel like a hospital at all.
The staff in NICU took great care of my baby, friendly staff. :)
RUDE SECURITY GUARDS RUDE NURSES OLD OUTDATED DIRTY BUILDING
