I've been going to Half Price Books recently and unable to find any books that I want to buy. Lo and behold I walk into the Cottage Shop looking for clothes and I end up walking out with a healthy stack of books in my arms and only for 7 dollars!! They have a reading room in the back and my jaw dropped when I saw that they were only selling books for 1 dollar each. I was able to find popular books like Simon and the Homosapien's Agenda and For Love and Lululemons. I also found "Lasher" by Anne Rice which I've been trying to find in Half Price Books for a couple of months now. Will definitely come back just for the books.

Friendly staff working hard to get merchandise on the floor quickly. The set up is more boutique feel than thrift and that is impressive. It was clean and very well organized. Clothing & shoes were priced for thrifting other items seemed a bit pricey but they were quality items and the cause is a good one. Plenty of parking. A bit about them: they've been operating for 50 years as a non profit to help rehabilitate women that struggle with drug and alcohol dependence right up to vocational training. 10 out of 10 would stop again! We made some great finds here.

Great place to shop for more professional clothes. I was able to get a vintage pair of jeans that were half off for $7.50. If you’re looking for linen this place has a terrific selection for such low prices! I have to agree with another persons review that there is an African American lady who works there that isn’t very friendly. I’m not sure if it’s the same lady but she wasn’t very friendly to me when I went to try on some clothes. But the rest of the staff makes up for it because they are all so kind and professional plus they have such a great selection.

It was my first time here. I picked a dress and it didn’t have a label on, so I asked what the price was. The shop assistant (an African American woman) rolled her eyes and said she has to take it to the back to have the price checked. It was too expensive and I decided not to buy it, but I wanted to buy a card that I found in the store. There was again no price tag on the card and the lady informed me that “she has not decided on the price yet so it is not for sale”!!! Pretty outrageous granted that this is a store so it’s main purpose is to sell stuff?

I've been into thrifting lately and decided to come here. Great spot! It's in Montrose and has a small parking lot. The store is small but they have a lot of selections including clothes, shoes, furniture, lots of books, home decor and jewelry. Very helpful staff. The clothes were nice and I saw a lot of high end name brands like Givenchy. Very clean and organized. The have good deals. When I went, pants were $1.50. They also have a couple racks that are discounted. Will definitely shop here again. I just wish that they had a larger plus size selection.

Not a pleasant experience, the staff was obnoxious. The younger group of ladies working here were incredibly rude to an older employee who was actually trying to help me with my question. I ended up putting everything I had picked out back on the racks and leaving. That is not how you treat fellow employees who are trying to help customers and do their jobs. Shame on you. This is a thrift store--not Hermes. Check your attitudes at the door, please. And thank you to the woman who actually did try to help me. You should stand up to those little snots. ;)

I am writing a second 5 star review, unsure how Google will calculate it. I took my Mom with me as she was visiting from out of State. She found 3 items that she loves & was not really shopping. Just sorta browsing while I was going through the store. Additionally, the manager( I am leaving her name out of public view) recommended a couple of items that she was just placing on the racks. I purchased 2 of the 3. Absolutely love coming here when I am downtown. There is always something new & very affordable. Highly recommend!

You will not find a better thrift store in Houston, plus funds go to charities that support homeless women and children. Racks packed with Calvin Klein, Escada, Marc Jacobs as well as Chico's, Coldwater Creek, Talbots, Abercrombie, Express, etc. Brands for every style and age priced from 10.00 suits to 3.00 sleepeear. 50% off regular clothes and shoes monday and 25% every day accept Thursday. High end designers may be more expensive in their boutique dept, but the items are worth it. Love this place. Closed Sundays.

TLDR; An amazing shop with amazing workers AND amazing prices. So, I've been to this shop twice and both times I've been shocked with the prices of the clothes here. Most if not all items of clothing are in good condition, plenty of variability in items of clothing and so much opportunity for different types of styles.Workers have been kind and helpful both times I've been. It's fair to say that this is one of the best thrift shops in Houston and I can't wait to go back and support The Cottage Shop.

I make it a point to visit here every time I come to Houston. The selection is good and the values are outstanding, especially if you visit on a Thursday when women's clothes are 25% off. The clothing is arranged by size and color. Designer and high-end merchandise is arranged separately. But the non designer items are very high quality. Every time I've been there every staff member has been polite and gracious and always treat everyone with courtesy. Ample parking in the adjoining lot.

I came here about an hour away from the Woodlands to see what the big deal is about. First off, you will not regret stopping by. In about 30 minutes, I pulled clothing, tried it on, and left completely satisfied at the price, and quality of wear. I purchased one dress, a few of other name brands, and a pair of really classic black leather sneakers. Not to mention the staff is lovely! No matter how long the drive, I certainly had a good time shopping there! See how you like it!

I used to able to find good bargain there. They used to have sales which you can find quality used clothes for half off. The store is very clean and well organized. They have dressing room so you can try on clothes which is a plus. The staffs are very friendly. Parking can be challenge sometime. I notice they have raised the price of their clothes last time I was there. It is not cheap anymore. Their so call boutique merchandise is way too pricy.

Usually has a lot of variety and decent prices. I came here for the first time in a while since the pandemic started, and I was surprised to see small things like balls of yarn overpriced. A small locker wire rack that would be $10 at walmart was $12. A ball of basic yarn was $8. Their clothes were decently priced however, and I appreciated their sale today on boutique items. Decent variety, just shocked on the prices of some random things.

I just checked out this store today. Some items are over priced - like some hiking boots were $30 and fairly used. I have the exact same pair of boots and found them at Big 5 for $35 dollars. I will say they have a big selection of clothes and lots of party / night gala dresses for women and misses. I purchased a jacket this time around. If u go on Mondays they are 50% off clothes. I went on a Wednesday. Will definitely be back!

I go here a couple of times per year. Usually good selection , pricing etc. However the last time I went there, the security guard was a total jerk. He accused me of shoplifting with no evidence and made me feel completely embarrassed and confused. After he searched my bag He also accused me of lying when I explained that I had just gone into the restroom. Hopefully he doesn’t do that to other folks.

I went to donate to them and I arrived at 9:57. They Did not open the door until 10:01. Do not go early, there is no shade by the doors. The place was very clean inside, everyone greeted me and I was helped right away. It was pretty high end for a thrift store. Keep in mind, by buying from them you are helping homeless women... great place.

This is such a cool and amazing store, full of business and casual wear and lovely home goods! I bought a full-piece women's skirt suit, a Swarovski blazer and skirt and a pair of khaki and a colorful cool shirt, a long scarf, and green iron magazine all for $35! There are discounts on top of low-priced items! Be prepared to be grateful!

Quite a selection of clothes, jewelry and household items. Besides, as stated in the website, proceeds help women and families regain their stabilities. Drop by the boutique.

I had the day off and wanted to visit a couple of new thrift stores. This store is on the smaller side, but had a nice selection of women’s clothing. Also, since it was Monday their non boutique clothes were 50% off. I didn’t make a purchase, but will definitely go back again. The staff were friendly, parking is limited.

Wonderful selection and prices, with Monday half off all regular clothes and shoes! Each day has different deals, but their regular prices are awesome. Has lots of women's clothes, shoes and accessories, some men's, and housewares. They have their own parking lot too which is super convenient in the area.

Very disappointed and very upset with the experience that we had here. First, the lady in the front BODY SHAMED my partner when all they asked for was to look at a dress. Secondly, they kept asking why my partner was looking at one of their items, rudely saying “what are you doing.” DO NOT GO HERE!

This mini resale shop has a lot of cool clothes, label clothing, sometimes. They have nice jewelry, shoes, dishware and some house decor. Sadly, what they don't have is books. Which is what I look for in a thrift shop.oh, and there's loads of traffic and very little parking, so keep that in mind.

The women really work very very hard to have a clean, organized store. I have found too many things to list, but every day I go in is a surprise. Also, if you want to donate unwanted items, they can be taken here to the loading dock. So, great store and great mission. Well done ladies!

Excellent business with quality merchandise at affordable prices. They have a nice selection of women's clothing. In addition, there is a section of the store with dinnerware, curios, framed art, domestics, etc. The proceeds from the shop go to benefit the Women's Home.

Surprised at the selection of posters marked at $2.00 or less. Add a touch of elegance to your home, like a New England scene or select something for your child's room. Also, you may select one of their frames. May take a while to choose one of these beautiful posters.

I've gotten several work items from here that retail at $70+. What I love most is the cleanliness and organization. The staff is helpful and always seem to be in a great mood. I only wish they had later hours, but definitely one of my go-to spots on a Saturday morning.

Found a Van Gogh print in a retro looking frame for under 5 dollars. Everything is very affordable, especially the art and other knick knacks. Can't speak for the quality of the clothes though, cause I didn't spend much time looking at them.

Absolutely love this shop! The ladies are always so sweet, the shop is organized and the prices are really great. I love that they have special discount days, too! The inventory is always changing so it’s a favorite frequent stop.

Loved their accessories and clothing, including vintage clothing, was very reasonably priced. I didn’t love the white lady who followed me around the store as if I was going to steal and rushed me during checkout.

I have been a customer here for over 20 years. This is my favorite resale store. The staff is great, and all of the proceeds go toward helping Ladies get back on their feet. Shopping there is a two fold blessing.

I got these really cute jewelry prices from here and I absolutely love them. The shop is on the pricey side for "Thrifting" but these pieces were definitely worth it. The fish were $15 and the necklace was $7.

It was my first time here, and experience was lovely. I found some very interesting items. The place doesn’t smell and I believe they wash the clothes, unlike some other thrift stores. Would recommend.

The people who work here are very kind and helpful. The clothing selection for women is vast! They even have a wedding dress section to shop! Also, the parking lot is big.
