Inside the oldest hotel in Austin, Texas is a bar with plenty of tables and live music. After the loud noise at nearby Firehouse Lounge pushed us out, we were able to snag a table at Driskill Bar. Despite the live music, it was a quieter space. Here's our experience: 1) Drinks: They have plenty of options, including hard cider and different cocktails. Their cocktails range from bitter to sour to sweet. Are hey Austin's best? No, but they are decent. 2) Service: Despite the crowds, our server was very attentive and friendly. 3) Space: It's inside a historic 1886 hotel so it all feels very old school and regal
What used to be a delightful experience is now a place to which I will never return. Had reservations but table not ready until 20 minutes later. Food miserable, menu limited and so noisy we couldn’t enjoy a nice meal even if it had been served. Stay away.

This is probably the nicest bar in Austin, TX and one of the few more upscale places you might actually see people dressing up a bit more and not wearing flip flops... although you might still see people in here with flip flops. This space has a fantastic ambiance along with often having live music and they provide excellent service here in a very comfortable and classically elegant environment.

The Driskill Bar and dining room is a great atmosphere. Our server was kind and we got our food fairly fast. The chicken caesar salads were delicious and the lettuce was very fresh. The Pork Belly tacos were nice and tender. And as we were eating, to our surprise we saw a band setting up to perform! Would go back again and recommend to everyone
We came for restaurant week(s) and were not disappointed! The Driskill always has unique flavors with their dishes. I will say my favorite dish was the dessert: the brioche bombolini! Just very unique donuts with lots of fun sides like a bubblegum foam and raspberry sauce. Thank you, Emily!

The atmosphere in the Driskill is classy but unpretentious. It honestly feels a bit out of time in the best way. The cocktails are great, the beer selection features local craft beers, and the staff is friendly and skilled. Not to mention the bar is located within the historic Driskill Hotel, which is downright majestic.
Andrew was my bartender. He has been with Driskill for 15 years, is pleasant, and pays great attention to the customer. The scallops were delicious (bit only get 2 for $23), though a little under seared. The cocktails are delicious and filled to the rim. I recommend a visit if you are in downtown Austin. More
This is the most comfortable and most beautiful bar I have been to. You definitely know you are in Texas when you are here. The leather couches and the big Long Horn on the wall add to it's stunning decor. The food was great and the service was wonderful too! We enjoyed our time here. ] …
Great drinks in a setting that is almost museum-like but still relaxed. The bartenders were all super helpful and knowledgeable. Went two nights in a row while I was only in town 3 nights. I didn't get a chance to try the food but I heard really good things from several people I was with.
My wife and I love the historic hotel bar here. Good service, good food, good times We had the local IPA beer which was tasty and the bartender knows how to pour a beer correctly with a nice head of foam. The smoked wings and seasoned
On January 28th, 2017 we had the pleasure of having our wedding reception at The Driskill Victorian Room! Everything about it was magnificent...from the stay in the Yellow Rose Bridal Suite, to dancing the night away & the white-rose petal
In the server's defense, as usual, it was really busy, but waiting 10 minutes after sitting and then 20 minutes for cocktails is a bit excessive. Definitely not as pristine as it used to be either, but still a must see and experience. More
Love the bar here! IThe food was good, the vibe was perfect and it was super fun because South by Southwest is this weekend and there was a very diverse crowd! Also, it definitely has the haunted vibe if you’re into that kind of thing.
Great drinks, nice and friendly staff, historic environment and tasty appetizers.. you have to try the pretzel and the BBQ Board is a great meal for two. Nice place for a first date and a great place to celebrate …
Great spot for bourbon and relaxing. It's a popular place for hotel guests and is hopping during happy hour. It's not cheap, but we enjoyed a few adult beverages here. Very old school, if you're into that vibe.
Beautiful hotel. Ate at the restaurant. Or server was amazing. She was all by herself and so pleasant. Food was delicious

The drinks and food were great! Service may have been a bit slow, but not enough to bother us and our server was very attentive to our needs. The live music was really nice and the musicians were skilled.
Great hotel bar with live music in the evening. Has a cool Texas theme to it. We had a few cocktails and appetizers. Everything tasted great and wasn’t terribly priced for being in a hotel
Beautiful 1880s building with classic Texas theme. We went on a Sunday evening and there is a jazz blues band playing. The bar if fun with signature cocktails and local beers.
