I'm the first to write a review and I can see why! I never post reviews but made an exception this time as I believe people should be warned! Guard you wallets carefully hungry travellers as these demons like to pray on the hungry, Their glass cabinets and fancy name lulls you into the false belief that you are into a mighty fine treat that is good for the taste buds and the waist line! Oh but how wrong I was. For the amazingly small price of just $17 I got a bottle of berry juice and a Bacon and Egg roll, but it doesn't stop there, you can even have it toasted! This process first involves nuking the hell out of it in a microwave until, what I believe was avocado, was little more then a sloppy green paste. The bacon was almost non existent with a hint of egg somewhere in there. Then they slap it onto a sandwich toasted to presumably dry off the outside of the roll that is sopping wet from its radiation bath. then lumped in a paper bag so when you open it up its a wet greasy slimy mess. Overall I would rather walk pay my $17 to walk over hot coals.

Honestly probably the worst service my friends and I have ever had. Food came out late and at different times, I ordered $10 museli with (fresh) Apple and yogurt and nuts etc thinking it would arrive in a bowl and fresh, considering it was on the menu? Except I was given a small plastic container of overly sweetened mush with watery yogurt on top which was hardly worth the price. Very disappointed. I ordered my three year old breakfast kids hot cakes with a drizzle of caramel sauce for a treat and it came out swimming in sauce. Like there was more sauce than hotcake. I also wanted to get her a fresh orange juice but they refused to give it to me in a small glass or even a small coffee cup. They only said I could have it in a large smoothie glass which was far too big. They “suggested” I buy a juice box for her instead, which is far from fresh. My friends and I were sitting for at least 40 minutes waiting for our last friend to get her meal. Overall super disappointed.

Grabbed a bacon and egg roll and a coffee and a chai here this morning. They were kind enough to dispose the coffee we'd bought elsewhere and then made us fantastic drinks at the Grinders inside The Fresh Connection. Not only we're they great, the lady that made them having heard our story was intent on what we thought. Love it was the answer.

Super delicious and fresh food!! But I am giving 2 stars as the staff member who serve us was very rude, was rolling her eyes and sighing when I ask for a sauce on my sandwich, I was a bit confused as the person is very likely paid to be working there. They just seemed really bothered for us to ask for anything, and angry to toast the bread… she was trying to push us to take our stuff cold and I toasted because it was a bother for her.. A bit disappointed to be treated this way when we are travelling from another country it give us a bad impression of the local people. Also she add a lot of extra costs on and say nothing, charge us for 4 sauce when we only got 2.. at this point we just pay because she was so moody

Food was okay. Would have given a higher rating if it weren't for the rude staff. We complained about the service as it was bad enough to complain about and were met with the manager telling us that we were wrong and insinuating that we were lying. The whole experience had me in tears and I had to leave. I thought maybe I had misunderstood but then seeing the other bad reviews here and specifically about the poor service makes me realise that I wasn't wrong after all. Very disappointing. I didn't give it one star because it could've been worse... at least I didn't get food poisoning.

The cafe is well presented and has a huge choice which is fantastic and it has a brilliant layout but sadly the price lets it down being that it’s way over priced. Now if it wasn’t for the average flavour and barely warm food I wouldn’t of have had a problem but I think you simply cannot have prices that high that don’t reflect good taste or value for money, I don’t mind paying for a meal that tastes good . The staff hear do a great job however they are friendly and quick to serve you and prepare your meal . There is many options to choose from and it’s possible I just got a once off.

I can not speak highly enough about the staff as they were all very helpful & friendly. Who I think was the manager was also the same. I was trying to buy gluten free & dairy free meals. He was vey cooperative also helped me to find my way back to lifts to the Carpark. I only bought 2 meals as I wanted to just try them. Well I have now, and they were lovely with heaps of flavour. The only down fall for me was the price. Meals are a bit expensive for pensioners like myself. But at some stage I do hope to go back in and purchase more meals. Thank you so much. Well done

I use this company on a regular basis for all catering within the Hobart CBD. They have a great variety of combination boxes, both hot and cold to suit small and larger groups. If you’re unsure of how much to purchase, give them a call as they give advice on how much to order per person and are happy to discuss dietary requirements, providing multiple options and come in individual boxes. The communication is clear, they provide confirmation of your order and delivery is always on time. I must say, the homemade pies and quiches are always a hit.

Not sure about the negative reviews but my visit today was excellent. Came in after purchasing coffee from another place that was undrinkable. The lady on the coffee machine asked how I wanted the macchiato and prepared it perfectly. The egg and bacon breakfast roll was great. The bread was fresh and had a lovely crunch ( it tasted and looked like a boutique made bread). Bacon was generous, egg was cooked well and the lady serving asked what kind of sauce we wanted. Great food, great service

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have higher ratings! The customer service was amazing! The staff were patient & friendly & greeted everyone on their way inside & out. The food was hot & good & served in a timely manner. The atmosphere was nice as well. My only complaint was the tables were small & the chairs weren’t too comfortable. However I’d definitely come back anyway.

Solo server was distracted, dazed, and confused. Just seemed there was no Earth language either of us understood adequately to communicate effectively. As English is the official, lingua franca of all Australia, an adequate understanding of it should, I would think, be somewhat de rigor for a cafe worker charged with taking your order. Maybe he's just having a bad day. The coffee wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. The 'fresh' muffin I got, was like cardboard. Go next door...

We used Fresh Connection for High Performance team catering in Hobart. As a Sports Dietitian planning the menu and locations, Peter was a fantastic additional member of our team, providing high quality produce for our test matches. During out stay, Peter provided- pre cooked meals for the team on arrival, boxed lunches for after training, pre match meals and opened the cafe for a post match meal. Very bad customer service. The cafe was empty (Saturday around 11am) but the attendent at the front came off very rude and somewhat hurry to finish the order. Didn't greet back, no eye contact and just loudly replying to order. Won't go back probably. I wanted to eat something but ended up not ordering meal just had coffee. They can do better as the location is great and also the cafe seemed cozy with many options. Just dissapointed!

I am a bit relieved after reading all the reviews, the male attendant was extremely rude and treated us as we were not welcomed here, but since you are here and I have to respond back(you know because that’s what humans do) so I’ll instead be rude so you get the message. No curtesy whatsoever. I am glad, we gave it back to him as well. Looks like he is having a bad day EVERYDAY! Never ever coming back here, that’s for sure.

Came in here at 2:40 to get a toastie and chai latte, the person at the register seemed mad that I dare walk in and order food. Usually I enjoy being here but this person made me feel embarrassed for wanting a toasted ham and cheese, despite the fact that the place wouldn't close for another 2 hours or so. Disappointed, I don't think I'll be back here again, which is a shame because it was nice and close to where I work.

I work for an agency that frequently requires catering. For many years we had to 'shop around' for the best option for catering. However after our first time working with Peter and his team @ Fresh Connection, we have not had the need to seek any other catering service. Fresh Connection has a wide variety of morning/afternoon tea and lunch items to choose from and Peter is always willing to help us with recommendations.

Peter and his team at The Fresh Connection were brilliant and catered to all of our needs and requirements whilst our national sporting team was in Hobart. Great communication, range of food options, high diligence around dietaries/timings, and provided us solutions for out of hours catering. I highly recommend The Fresh Connection for a Hobart catering option.

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks to all the guys at fresh connection. i have been going to the cafe for the past three weeks as my mother has been in hospital. the staff have always been attentive, and the food has been spot on, even when there was a mistake they have gone out of their way to fix the problem. thanks again guys keep up the good work.

Twice these guys have catered for my corporate events and both times have been excellent. Better value and higher standard of food than a few other catering services I have tried in Hobart. Would recommend the sandwiches, wraps and baguettes.

Twice was disappointed by this place on work lunch break. "Homemade" sausage rolls thrown in a microwave. Revolting salad. Had to bin it. Rice that tasted like it was instant microwave rice. Way overpriced for bad quality food. I'm not usually a complainer. But I don't want others to waste their money. Sorry.

Way to expensive for the coffee & food you receive. I just brought a home made sausage roll for $8:20 and it was cold... meaning it was not even cooked that day not good enough and the staff ain’t friendly at all. Never will buy from here again, you only have to look at the 2.5 stars out of 5

Excellent customer service. The owner comes around to check if you are happy with your food. I had beautifully served, piping, hot fish and chips that scrisped and crunched in all the right places. Thankyou for your great service. Been coming here for 15yrs and it continues to get better

Delicious fresh vegetable minestrone soup, but maybe let people know it's going to take a long time. If I'm getting a takeaway it's because I need to get going. One star added as I got a bonus baguette (maybe someone else's), but taken away again as I requested to have none.

I contacted the Fresh Connection for a last minute catering request for a work meeting. Peter was lovely to deal with and accepted my late request. It was delivered on time and the food was exceptional. Would definitely recommend if you were looking for catering in Hobart.

Excellent variety of food choices, from sandwiches to roasts, pasta and grilled dishes. The food is fresh and tasty. There is seating but it can get busy at lunchtime. The cafe also has a very good range of hot and cold drinks plus cakes and muffins for the sweet tooth!

Had breakfast here - absolute shocker. Then lectured by the owner as to his opinion why and what was wrong with it. The fact is is was so bad the honourable thing would have been to refund rather than take money for rubbish like that. One star ? Not even worthy of that.

I have ordered a roast meal on 3 occasions from this store. I paid $16.50 and the meals are tiny with hardly any meat or gravy and dismal amount of veggies. You could get so much more for your money elsewhere. I'm not a big eater either so very disappointed.

Price is high and the food was cold ( burger and chips) all my son wanted was a bacon and cheese toastie but because they didn't know how to charge for it they couldn't do it. $9.90 for a ham and cheese toastie! Save your money and go somewhere else.

More expensive than Surry Hills in Sydney. Be sure to ask for a quote before you “choose your own sandwich”. My partner chose a pre-made “gourmet lamb sandwich” for $8.90 & I asked for a “ham & basic salad sandwich” which I was charged $10.20 for.

Lovely family meals tonight, the chef stayed back a few minutes extra to cook meals before going to Festival of Voices, as we had to have our granddaughter who was singing at 1815hrs. Thank you very much we often have coffee there when in town.

Ordered a mini fish and chips plus calamari. The taste was good but it cost $10.50 for take away. The picture attached was the portion that I have received. Its your turn to consider if its worthy or not. I personally think its way overpriced!

If you are after some yummy catering Hobart…. The Fresh Connection is great. Lovely to deal with, the food is fresh and tasty, delivery is prompt and it is well priced. I highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

Lovely little cafe tucked away in the Wellington Centre that goes above and beyond to cater to dietary needs (even coeliacs!!). Nothing was a problem and the food was delicious!

I ordered the large vegetarian Wraps in box from The Fresh Connection Catering and it was delicious. I absolutely recommend catering Hobart if you don't have time to make something to take to a gathering.

I'd give this place zero stars if i could. You cannot use a small container and call it a large and then charge 13 dollars for it and by the time you get it back to work its cold and flavourless...

Was visiting woolies in the city and stopped at the cafe to a have coffee and meal. Was very happy with their services and food. It was both convenient and satisfying ..will visit again

I enjoy the food there very much, only gripe is the servings are a bit on the small side, the coffee is very good though, they have a lunch time roast there daily. Highly recommended.

I had a very bad mango smoothie. For a place called the fresh connection I don't think they actually use any mango, not even frozen. I drunk maybe a third and threw it away.

Amazing place to eat. Went back twice the food was so great. All staff were great and the owner was super friendly. Would highly recommend. Sharon and Ron from New Zealand

ordered a large beef tortellini for takeaway. staff member was a bit rude, and the bacon was very very dry in the pasta. aside from that, pretty okay. bit pricey though.

Coffee at the Belaroma stand is good. Cheapest quality coffee near the Royal Hobart Hospital. $3.80 and 1/10 discount card available. Quick and friendly service.
